Hi guys,
as you know, Jide and Taipower release RemixOS 1.0 for Teclast x98 Air II/3G and Air 3.
Now, on 12/01 Jide will release a new version of Remix OS for PC, based on the project Android x86, and our tablets are based on that kind of SoC.

Has someone already tested the new version with a X98 Air?

Using "Premade image with EFI booting" from user parkerlreed on Reddit (sorry not allowed to post links yet, but should be easy to find), I was able to boot Remix OS 2.0 from USB stick successfully on X98 Air 3G.
Runs fine, but it remains questionable if it makes a lot of sense to run an OS targeted at mouse and keyboard enabled PCs on a tablet device.
You need to enter BIOS and use boot override option using USB hub and keyboard to boot from UBS stick of course.

From Jide.com:
"System requirements
A USB 3.0 flash drive that supports FAT32 format, with a minimum capacity of 8GB and a recommended writing speed of 20MB/s.
A CPU with 64-bit compatibility.
Instructions to launch Remix OS for PC
Download Remix OS for PC package and then unzip the file.
Plug in a USB flash drive into your preferred PC.
Run the Remix OS USB Tool and follow the instructions to burn the .iso file onto your USB flash drive.
Reboot your PC.
Press 'F12' (PC) or the 'Option' (Mac).
Select "USB Storage Device" as boot option.
Select either "Guest Mode" or "Resident Mode" to start Remix OS for PC."

Jide just released an official EFI version to download ...testing now on my Teclast X98 Air 3G.
---------- Post added at 07:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:16 PM ----------
Another thing: To make RemixOS boot on the Teclast X98 (Dual boot version), you first need to at least boot up Windows one time before, as Teclast's dual boot BIOS then is in the right mode to make RemixOS boot.
---------- Post added at 07:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:26 PM ----------
Ok, so here are my results:
What's working:
+ Boots reasonably fast off my USB pen drive
+ WiFi works
+ Correct display resolution is being used
+ Physical +/- volume rockers work
+ Other connected USB devices are working, e.g. keyboard and/or external mouse
What's not working:
- Screen rotation sensor is not being recognized
- No touch input
- No sound
So I guess the display/touch/sound issues are just a matter of integrating the appropriate drivers into the build.
Maybe we could use Mirek's Lollipop drivers for that?

this is interesting.. actually I did installed both remix Os and Phoenix os on my teclast hard disk not only boot from usb.
Phoenix is better than remix.. they have even tool to install the os directly on your hard disk without the need of any work around as remix os. the browser also is way better than remix os.
the major down side is the INVERTED TOUCH RESPONSE on both remix and Phoenix.. very weird thing.. for example when you touch the right top corner of the screen it activates the left bottom corner triggering the start menu.
other things not working are the Bluetooth and the sound.. there is no sound at all
may be mirek or some one else can help us

so you were able to install Remix OS X86 and Phoenix OS x86 on the eMMC of our Teclast x98 Tablet?

any way.. installing phoenix to hard disk is very easy and straight forward.. just download their tool and follow the instructions

while installing remix is a little bit troublesome and needs work around with xda tool android x86 installer for Windows

I'm still a little confused. Could you help me? I think I've downloaded Legacy version instead of EFI, and after turning on my X98 Air 3G, it goes directly to Windows, even if I hit F12. What's the key to enter boot selection mode? Do I need to reinstall using this EFI version? I tried it on my HP notebook and everything works fine.
Also, I saw that there are official Remix versions from Teclast in the main X98 3G thread. I think it's version 1.0 or 1.5. Do these versions update ota to Remix 2.0? What do you recommend? To install ROM on HD or to run it from a pen drive?
Thanks! Any help is welcome.

Hello, is there anybody, who could make this OS work with this tablet?
I tried, but nothing happened. I started Windows then reboot. The BIOS sees the pendrive, but when I want to start the boot, the screen flash once and back to the BIOS.
Do you know what should I do?
managed to have a triple boot .

CyanogenMOD 11 for Android One Devices
By @varun.chitre15
Feel free to ask questions, or answer questions by others or interact with developer himself.
Please keep discussion focused, on the topic described in the OP
Please flash this ROM only if you know what you're doing!

Question about installation via recovery.
CM 11 is based on Android 4.4.x specification.
But most of the phones with Android 4.2.x has arecopvery compatible with CM 10.x (not compatible with CM11).
Is there any problem to install this ROM (CM1)9 with a recovery not compatible CM11?
Magnetic sensor not working
I want to know that if this project can be put on an automated build server like Jenkins? It'll be very useful for developers and users as well. We'll be able to fix bugs instantly and any upstream changes in the CM sources will be automatically included. This will make the development faster and users wouldn't have to wait for long time for the releases, ROMs can be built on the Jenkins server and OTA Update support can be given to the ROM.
ThankYou

And people visiting this thread, please help me with something. I'm totally confused with Redmi 1S and Android One. I just don't understand, what should I buy? Redmi has excellent camera, good chipset, processor and GPU. But it has heating and RAM problems. But both of them are bugs in MIUI, I will replace them with CyanogenMod. On the other hand, Android One is also gearing up. Good (but 5MP) camera, Mediatek chipset and continuos updates for next 2 years. I'll install CM on it too if I get it. Please someone suggest me a good pick. Thankyou

That'd be possible once Varun submits his trees for official support to CM, he will do it once he fixes all bugs.
And to your next question, its up to your priorities. No one in my family owns an Android One device personally but my uncle owns Redmi 1S and its pretty good. I have used both and both are excellent devices. Redmi is no way going to live up to 2 years if it doesn't gets kernel sources. So see what matters to you most.
I have heard that unlocking bootloader will trigger a hardware change which allows the technician to check whether the bootloader is locked or not. Is that true ? Does it really affect our warranty ? Do we even have to care about it ?

Battery not charging in power off mode and phone not poweron if charging is on
Hi, I am on CM11-3 and I have the two issues listed in the subject. Recovery CWM, CM11, GAAPS full install.
1. If charging is on and phone is powered on, white screen with battery logo is showing. You have to remove battery, remove power cord, replace battery to power on.
2. If phone is off and charger is connected, same condition as above when phone is switched on.
How to overcome this issue and if anybodyelse is alos having the same issue.
Thanks in advance.

So i attempted to root my phone with iRoot and with MTK Droid Tools so i could use the Mobile Uncle Tools .apk cause for some reason it would not go to CWM when i press power+up volume and when it was installing iRoot or something it rebooted it self looks like it wiped the OS along with it and it got stuck on boot screen , from this point i attempted to flash kitkat ROM 4.jan.2015. but FlashTools does not detect my phone. So i cant do anything at all. If somebody has a idea on how can i fix this?
PS : Also CWM cant mount anything.

The Chinese App Maeket provided in the ROM isn't that bad, though. I can grab the latest versions of apps that are blocked in my country which means I don't have to use VPN to get it from GP. ^_^
Anyway, do you have any clue how to fix the pop up video problem?
Sent from my eXposed C6603
The only way I found was putting the app into phone mode and then poping out the video and then I could move the window any where I wanted too but I could not resize it. So this is no way a solution at all.....
Is this the same version as the one Teclast posted on their facebook page yesterday? Is there any difference, bug fixes etc...

How do you install? The downloaded Remix OS that's on Telcast facebook page has an additional folder called drivers with 3 different drivers. Can you please explain how to install correctly and still keep dual boot (windows and android)

First Post and post #10.....
Do you need to install the drivers and programs on a PC then connect it to the Air tablet. In the instructions file in the download file of Remix OS that's is posted on Teclast facebook, it says connect to PC.

Correct yes you need to do these things on the PC or Laptop if you watch the video posted there is a step by step on how to do it.
Chris video doesn't really explain how to install an android rom and keep windows at the same time as he install the dual boot option later on

Okay I understand you, When flashing a rom if you select the file Flash.XML this will wipe windows if you just want to install a android ROM select the Nopartition.XML
Some ROM will have nopartition.XML or only system.XML or system.XML
Doing this will only wipe android but selecting Flash.XML as stated will wipe windows
Hope this helps
Have anyone installed this rom yet? Can anyone make an installation video for beginners. A video explain what text cannot
Techtablets video is quite straight forward....if you follow the steps from 1:45 - 8:00 you can not go wrong
In the video do not select flash.XML instead select only system.xml
K thanks guys. I feel more confident about installing Remix OS now than before. The only part that confuses me is I need to install programs and drivers on my computer than connect it to the Air tablet, other than that I think I can do it
I made an Xposed module to allow all third party covers to turn on/off screen automatically when opened/closed.
This mod was designed for Samsung devices using Lollipop (tested on S6 with 5.1.1 and on S6 with 6.0.1).
Compatibility/Requirement:
Xposed (tested on Xposed v75.8 and v80.0). You can find installation steps: here
Android Lollipop (tested on 5.1.1) or Android Marshmallow (tested on 6.0.1)
Samsung device (tested on S6)
Third party cover
2 magnets to detect cover open/close (like in official cover). I attached picture to show you magnet positions. You can use thin neodymium magnet (you can find cheap ones on a lots of e-shop).

Can you confirm you are using 2 magnets ? Put at right positions (see picture in main post).
What version of Xposed do you use ?
I did some tests only on S6 with Android 5.1.1 and Xposed 75.8.

Please, if possible, can a module be made to activate classic s-view lock screen on S6 Edge? As I can see there are no official s-view cases for edge variant (windowed screen) but I found some 3rd party models. Thank you!
just to ask, is the magnet position the same for Note 5?

I don't know if magnet position is the same for Note 5. But you can try to find right position by moving slowly magnet over the screen (at about 1mm).
When you find the right position, the screen should turn off automatically
Can you make version for 6.0.1.???
Was working on 5.1.1. like a charm...
Thx....

You said you are using the original cover. Do you speak about the official cover (samsung genuine) ?
If yes, you don't need this module. This module is only useful when you don't use an official cover.

Yeah, I'm using genuine cover, but it's not working on the idle kernel.
Thanks for trying anyways.
can you make it for note 4
i want to try this on a note edge with MM, added qi and had to remove the chip in the flip cover to do it, how do i install the zip in xposed? I tried to install the zip in recovery and no go, and i dont see a way to select files in exposed other than the downloads
I have another problem .
I think I have a genuine s view cover opening and closing works without problem but the touch function through the s view window is not working. If I use the S Pen through the window it's working but with the finger it doesn't work .
Original firmware and Custom TW Rom same problem.
Hi to all,
I'm not a dev, but I really appreciate the work made by some users of official Teclast Forum, all credits the them.
I fund a new version of Remix OS 2.0 of Teclast x98 Air / Air 3G.
At the moment, you need to fully repartitioning in order to get the flash works, cause Remix OS 2.0 uses a System partition of 2 Gb. So, on dual boot tablets, You need to re-install Windows 10 after installing Remix 2.0.
Here some screenshot of Remix OS 2.0 on my Teclast x98 Air 3G:

Maybe, we need a custom recovery to update Remix, cause OTA upgrade reboot the tablet but no way to install zip with official recovery.
Info:
- Google Play Store installed;
- No root;
- Need custom recovery to install OTA Packages;
- What works: Rotation, WiFi, touchscreen, MicroSD, Power and volume buttons, 3G UMTS Network (Using any app to enable it);
Install guide:
0) Backup all your data, remember you need a fully repartition due to Remix OS 2.0 System.img size;
1) Download ROM and the new Boot.img;
2) Replace the new Boot.img in the unzipped Rom folder;
3) Install using Intel MFT and the Flash.xml script;
4) Enjoy and press Thanks.
A short video (Italian language):

- Official Teclast topic with new version of Boot.img (download Boot.img and replace it on extracted zip of the ROM)
- Official download link Password: sjry

Great job Massimo!
I successfully installed cwm in the past, it was working, but it takes ages to make a backup (around 2 hours).

For root, we could use this method from techtablets, it worked on remix os 1.0.
After doin' that, you just need to replace it with SuperSU.

We need another solution to grant Root.
System is working fine, without lags. 3g IS WORKING for me ( @Maxximo88 please edit this topic )
Unfortunately if your touchscreen do not work under Android 5 ( Mirek releases ) it won`t be working on Remix 2.0. I had to use OTG cable and mouse.

It is quite fluid, but battery life is worse and I also encountered some minor overheating so I will revert back to mirek's 7.0.
I think it needs some magic touch at the firmware by a more experienced developer, it's just sad that @mirek190 abbandoned us with so much potential here.
Did anyone try it on an Air III (m5c5)?
