can someone send me the home.apk for the moto g 2 gen
You deleted your main launcher.
If you are running a custom recovery (mandatory) and custom ROM and your bootloader is unlocked, just reflash the ROM and do a wipe.
If you are running a stock firmware, you have two options.
If your phone is still running after the launcher has been deleted, ENABLE ADB & PERMISSIONS and then try accessing Settings, then Apps and try launching Play Store from there. Once you manage to access Google Play, download a launcher (I reccommend Nova Launcher) and then Link2SD or a similar app. Then run that app and use it to convert the downloaded launcher into system app and restart your device. Lesson learned
If your phone is bricked after restarting, if you had ADB on previously, you can sideload the home.apk or launcher app into /system and then restart (sadly I don't have it, because I flashed CyanogenMod on my XT1072 and never turned back)
Avoid downloading a launcher from a random unknown page in the internet or you might infect your phone.
If your phone is bricked after restarting and you cannot access ADB, reflash your firmware (be careful and avoid messing with motoboot.img!)

If you can access ADB on your phone just dl nova launcher from the official site and install it. http://teslacoilsw.com/tesladirect/download.pl?packageName=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
If you don't have ADB acces you might have to reflash your rom ( stock right ? )
Search and download the right ( and i suggest the latest ) stock rom for your phone here -> http://www.filefactory.com/folder/c6cdedc45a775d27/?sort=created&order=DESC&show=50
Remeber even if you flash an updated stock over your old stock, unless you had problems a wipe IS NOT NEEDED. and also you don't need to unlock the bootloader to flash the right stock rom on your phone !

Hi there,
Not long ago i got a P970 and proceeded to root it and install CWM on my device using an all in one solution from this site, unfortunately it didn't seem to create a backup of the stock bootloader and i am unable to perform updates to the device as they all try to boot in to the stock bootloader to finish the update process which is ofc missing, does anyone have a copy of the stock bootloader for the P970, incase its of relevance i'm using one in the UK on the Orange network
I thank you in advance for any replies
Bump anyone got a copy of the bootloader?
If you flash stock vanilla rom it will overwrite CWM with stock.

Couple of small issues is that i dont want to lose everything i've installed and setup so far and the only images i can find of the stock ROM's are .kdz files which use the LG tools to flash and those require me to be able to boot to the standard software update tool found on the phone which doesn't seem to work with CWM installed as i can't do any OTA updates either.
dude, I already answered to you by pm. this cannot be saved, you have to flash again to recover the standard loader. AND, you don't have to boot or something else except going in s/w mode. just backup your apps / datas with 3nd party app then restore them after the flash. standard recovery is absolutely uneeded and is even useless. you might restore full datas with cwm by going into the advanced menu.
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a P970 through the Koodo network. I used smartflash, rom converter 2.0, etc. to root the phone.
I booted my phone, superuser was installed. Everything works well, however, if I go to Google Play store to install any app, the phone freezes and I have to take the battery out to get it started again or the phone will just reboot as soon as it tries to install it. I tried downloading the apk and uploading it to the phone and installing it with superuser but it does the same thing.
I reinstalled everything twice now and it still does the same thing. I've read around the website but can't find any answer. Can anyone help please?
Try to flash another rom.
The phone came with V20j. There's a Telus rom that's V20i. It's ok to try that one?

I meen that you can try to flash a custom rom like zeus.
I can't download rom manager or anything like that without it rebooting.
I followed these instructions found on this site:
1. Get original Koodo firmware
2. Extract BIN/FLS with LGExtract.exe
3. Patch in CWM image with Linux DD (I used p970 rom converter 2.0 to do the extract and CWM image)
4. Flash with SmartFlashTool
The only apps that came with the superuser was anreboot and es file explorer
Can I just flash a rom like zeus with the rom conerter 2.0?
You have CWM,right? If not, try cwm flasher by redy in Development sector
When the phone is restarting at LG logo, press Volume Down to Recovery.
If u not have e/g-recovery, power off and try to press Power button and Volume down in the same time
And u can wipe all data or flash any custom rom
Already U know about CWM and injecting root
So, just download Gingerbread V20S Rooted .bin and .fls files from google
And flash with Smart Flash tool
Or else, U can try Zeus (excellent ROM) with (if u have to install Zeus, U should have some ROM installed with root and ROM manager)
If now ur phone has root option, just install ROM manager (download separately ROM manager and install)
Even if yours is not rooted, basic features of ROM manager will work for Reboot into Recovery, so that you can flash the zip file of Zeus ROM (try to install latest is 6.39n and its update file)
If unable to install just Factory Reset, even that is not working..
Try to open the settings of Play Google and clear all the cache or history u can find and restart the phone..
Try the Zeus ROM, amazing ROM and No. 1 now..
Press THANKS if I helped you
Hi there,
darrenp76, I too had just rooted my own LG P970 (my carrier is also Koodo). I used a different method to root my phone, but the result was a success.
I found myself in the same situation as you; every time I tried to download an app, the download would complete but then the phone would hang on when the installation portion began. The phone would power off, and boot back up.
I have solved this issue by doing the following:
1) Go to Settings
2) Go to Privacy
3) Select "Factor data reset"
4) Reset phone. I did NOT check off "Erase SD card"
My phone restarted, I saw the ClockWorkMod screen, then my phone continued to restart normally.
I was then prompted with LG's little tutorial, and I entered my gmail information when prompted.
I was then able to access the Market - which updated to the Play store. I was able to keep Superuser on my phone, but I lost the 2 applications that were automatically installed when I rooted my phone (one was a file browser and the other was some sort of restart.) I did not have these programs installed for very long because I reset my phone shortly after rooting, and so I wasn't able to familiarize myself with those 2 apps, and I don't remember the names of them.
Anyways, I really hope that this helps you. Having been through the situation myself, I was very worried, but the factory reset seems to have fixed this issue.
Hi,
I tried to flash CM10 for JB on my ICS device. (Galaxy S I) .
my CWM is a 5 version.
Now I just read that I had to upgrade to the 6 version.
When I tried to enter recovery again I saw that the 6th version has been installed.
Now - after I flashed the CM10 I dont have the google play app and obviously none of my apps.
I back up my apps using titanium backup - so how can I reinstall it now that I dont have it istalled on my phone, dont have a file manager app to get to the apk and reinstall it, doesnt have google play to re download it.
what can i do?
and, is it ok that I dont have google play? its odd no?

Why u don't have installed the Gapps?
btw, if u want to install gapps, download it from here, copy into the memory of sgs, reboot in recovery mod, install from sdcard, and reboot.
just wipe and flash again will solve your problem
I'm on stock rom XXALI5
I've rooted and deleted some system apps what i'll never use n now notifications won't vibrate? not sure if it did before tbh
Anyhow i just did a factory reset and the system apps have not returned
I didn't install CF-CWM so i didn't make any back ups
I now have it installed and i was wondering where i can download the XXALI5 Uk Fw to Reinstall if that is Possible i'm still a Noob!! to android
The main reason is so i can do a Back Up of Stock Rom and then install a Custom Rom tho my current modded Stock Rom is fine and stable just no Notification Vibration ?
Thanks in advance
Unless installing the new Fw posted here will be ok, n just reroot using CF-CWM ?
Is that Possible?
What notifications don't vibrate, all or just some say messaging, email etc. Things you can check is, is vibration turned on in settings/sound.
There is also an option to have vibration on or off for received emails and messages, both in the settings of the app under the "Notification Settings" header so you can see if that is checked.
Because you have removed the apks from the system/app, doing a factory reset will not reinstall those removed apps as a factory reset will wipe the data partition, so it is good to have a backup if you are playing with the system files or have them in a flashable zip incase you edit or remove one that puts you in a bootloop.
You can download original firmware from sam mobile and samsung-updates websites and flash in either odin or mobile odin. If you flash in odin you will need to flash cwm and re root the phone, if you use mobile odin you can tick ever root option so you won't need to re root the phone or flash cwm again.
On samsung-updates there is lots of regeon options but none for uk, so which one would work for uk ? Its all new to me
And as far as i know it was just text messages that was getting no vibration..
Just made a backup on my modded stock rom n now installing Pandoriam 1.7
Hoping all goes well :fingers-crossed:
How can I get a ROM loaded on my phone using the following:
Moto X (1st Gen - 2013)
Philz Touch 6.57.9
ClockworkMod c6.0.5.1
USB cable and PC
Liquid ROM and gapps on PC
This is the stupid thing I did:
While trying to get a boot-looping ROM to work, I cleared out my cache, dalvik... EVERYTHING. Then I accidentally erased the restore (while erasing everything) so now I don't even have the backup to return to.
I unlocked and rooted my phone and everything went through perfectly, smoothest root I've ever done on any Android phone (yet another reason why I like the Moto X so much).
Help?
if you can still use the recovery try to load a rom with adb (adb push or adb sideload) I don't remember the correct procedure, search in the forum... hope you have all the drivers installed in your computer.
You can also try to flash stock rom with RDS.
These are just some suggestions, if you search in the forum you will solve your problem!
2 options.... either flash a stock rom using RSD lite....
or if you have an otg cable or an otg usb flash drive copy your backup to it and restore the backup
No problem bro u can use recovery and side load rom or download original rom From Here and flash using RSD lite...
Roms Links : http://www.filefactory.com/folder/dd05c058d3ff8dbe/?sort=created&order=DESC&show=100&page=1
what is, "RDS"?
RSD Lite: I found what it is:
http://www.andromods.com/download-files/install-rsd-lite-latest-version-flashing-tool-motorola.html
"For those who not familiar with RSD Lite, it is a tool that is used to help flash stock firmware to any Motorola devices, it works almost the same way as Odin for Samsung or flashtool for Sony. The tool sometimes became the last-ditch effort for Motorola users to repair their phone or tablet when they get into trouble due to failure flashing or just want to restore their device to stock condition for a warranty claim."
Its almost like you should learn to do these things BEFORE you mess everything up?
Google up on adb push
