About
The WinDroid Toolkit is a Windows program built in Visual Studio using the C# programming language that simplifies the rooting process for many Android devices. The toolkit makes it easy to unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery and gain permanent root. It also includes other functions such as flashing kernels, pushing files and installing apps. If you find it helpful, give me a thanks and a donation if you can. If you find a bug or have a feature request, feel free to leave a reply. Thanks!

I actually used your ADB GUI program for some inspiration and coding help. I credited you in the main thread for it.
Does this work for the AT&T Desire 626?

No, the Desire 626s is a separate phone. It'll be supported in the next update of the toolkit.

OK I'll be waiting thank you
I have try Windroid on a french HTC Desire 626. i dont know if there is a diference between my 626 and others, so if you need info, i will be happy to give, if you explain how to find them cause i'm a noob ^^
so, i follow first step, found my ID, unlock bootloader, all go well.
then, i foolow step 2, Flash TWRP, follow steps, reboot, it say i can go to step 3.
so i go step 3, my phone reboot, display the whit page with green HTC Logo..... forever.
if i have understand how it should work, at this stap, my phone should boot on the flashed recovery and launch the TWRP "os"... if i'm right, then it seems the step 2 dont work on my 626.
after like 30 min, i swith of the phone, then switch on. all i got was a black screen with red light on.
for thos who are in same state, i hade to remove USB, hold power and volume down for like 60 secondes, red light switch off like 4 or 5 times. then i select "SIMLOCK", wait short time, press power button to confirm, and my phone was back online... but not rooted.
i have do this 3 or 4 times, and curently, my phone is "blocked" with red light. if i hold power and volume down long enought, here is what i got :
***software status: official ***

Hello
French HTC desire 626 a32 ul EMEA problème step 3
Such for Endreswood
It looks like there's a lot more versions of the 626 than I thought. I've added support for the 626s and 626G+, but the 626 A32_ul doesn't seem to have a working recovery, since the one here doesn't work on Android 5.1, so I can't add support for that one right now.

try the reflash option instead of going straight to dev option, also do you have the sim card cable the right way round with it coming up open file fail
Tried relashing, got secruity still on and had to take battery out to reboot it. In the pic shown my finger points to the cable sim I used.
Tried all the options available in the screens and every time file open error. I assume that's the key part of it. That needs to be read in order to access the s-off.
I've even tried the other cable which fits..the non angled one, same thing again.
Cheers

So the PH11IMG.zip file is actually a CWM Recovery? I will try this once I S-OFF my Salsa.
And, have you try any a2sd script after got root?
After a lot of troubles I finally determined that my HTC One is actually a fake Hong Kong custom version with different hardware but amazingly similar look. If your HTC One:
- doesn't have Sense preinstalled,
- lack proper identification,
- came with BeatsAudio headphones,
- is made of plastic,
- has Chinese factory mode,
- different barebone bootloader
- and anything else which doesn't look right in regard to HTC One
There's even post on Engadget.
It's probably fake...
After I found that I have different bootloader then usual one I tried to unlock it but when I come to 'fastboot oem get_identifier_token' step cmd just outputs tree dots so I left it for a while but nothing happens after that. It's same for every other oem command. Device is recognized by fastboot and every command that I try works like it should, 'fastboot reboot' reboots device, 'fastboot reboot-bootloader' boots to bootloader, 'fastboot -w' clears userdata and cache so it doesn't seem that adb and drivers aren't set properly.

No need for the OEM token method if you use it.

If I flash other HBOOT and something go wrong, can I fix things? You can't access fastboot without it and stock recovery is pretty useless.

Nope, dead link. just attach it to your post on here
When I first turn on it'll stay stuck in HTC white screen logo till battery dies.
If I hold volume rocker and power button to try to factory reset it'll try to initiate but then show and a phone logo with red exclamation mark.
I am almost positive i can restore this phone to working order because i remember a while back i put a galaxy s3 into similar condition and restored it using a program.. Ive been out of this stuff for a while so i forgot how i did it with the s3.
I WAS GIVEN THIS HTC AND IT WAS LIKE THIS WHEN I GOT IT.

Don't worry, this problem has cropped up before, and you're right, it is fixable. This is most commonly attributed to some weirdness with the boot.img flashed to your phone. Firstly, do you have a Vivid, Velocity, or Raider? And what provider does it use (e.g. AT&T)?
The first thing you'll want to try and do is pop out the battery, put it back in, then hold "volume down" and "power" until you get to the bootloader (it sounds like you've already gotten there):

You'll notice in the top portion, mine says "unlocked". Yours may say this, but may also say "locked" or "re-locked".
First thing's first; you'll want to download FASTBOOT (http://www.mediafire.com/download/9ylow29klhccc0x/Fastboot.zip)
and the HTC drivers (this is what I had in my flashing folder, so I upped it to mega: https://mega.co.nz/#!CV5RxY7L!Z_VNph4KoGyYKJJjoUCGPAFZ7xZPOWRbvH2UKsCXCi0)
just run the htc drivers and follow directions, nothing too major. Extract the contents of "fastboot.zip" to somewhere that's easy to access and remember (such as c:\FASTBOOT).
We're not going to do anything yet, this is just preparation.
If your bootloader is "locked" or "re-locked", then you can try restoring the original firmware with RUU. You'll want to read this thread first though:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562890
Always need to be careful.
If you are "unlocked", then you need to boot your phone into the bootloader, select "fastboot" (by pressing power when "fastboot" is highlighted), and connect the phone to your computer via a data usb cable. Then, open a command prompt window, and type in: "<c:\FASTBOOT\fastboot.exe> oem lock", where <c:\FASTBOOT\fastboot.exe> is replaced with the location of your fastboot.exe.
I would recommend flashing the recovery image located in the thread I linked to just before (follow instructions provided), and only THEN applying an RUU update. Which RUU you apply is dependent on which device you have.
If anything is unclear, or you have any questions, PLEASE ask in reply to this post; it's better to go slowly and be sure of what you're doing.
sidenote:
I noticed you said you had previously owned an S3 and managed to fix the problem with that; if you are pretty familiar with flashing roms, you can also try to flash a custom ROM and see if that fixes your problem (guides should be on Vivid General or Q&A).

I have the vivid , and yes it says *** locked ***
I downloaded and installed everything you listed above and I am currently going through RUU process as I type this..
Thanks, I hope this works.
Fingers crossed here. Let me know what happens.

Hello Guys this is a FAQ for Moto G(2nd Gen). Please read this here before posting it in the developmental section or creating a thread anywhere.
I am sure it will help.
Thank You
A big thanks goes to @matmutant for providing FAQ templates and his own FAQ from I have copied some things. Here is the original guide

For Linux, get fastboot files here also, adb and fastboot can be installed using repos for ubuntu-based distros packages needed are : android-tools-adb and android-tools-fastboot (android-tools-fsutils may be useful too)
eg:
Code:
sudo apt-get install android-tools-fastboot

[SIZE=+1]Q11: Does rooting/unlocking your phone invalidate its warranty? (In EU)[/SIZE]In short: No. Just the fact that you modified or changed the software of your device, is not a sufficient reason to void your statutory warranty. As long as you have bought the device as a consumer in the European Union.
For Indian customers, The warranty is void if you unlock/root your device. Motorola also reserves the right to maintain the records of unlocked bootloader devices. So you may not even get the warranty by relocking the device

[SIZE=+1]Q12: What to do if my battery is fully discharged and not re-charging?[/SIZE][source]
[SIZE=+1]Q13: Lost IMEI ? : How to backup / restore PDS partition and why?[/SIZE]On Motorola devices the 'pds' partition contains information specific to your machine: IMEI, MAC address, serial number, etc. This partition can be lost by accidental format or over time due to filesystem corruption. If you have made a backup, there is a good chance you can bring your handset back to life.
==> PDS backup will help to restore lost IMEI. It is a situation when the phone reports that the IMEI is unknown. ; This works like a vaccine, apply before having issue with IMEI, after it will be too late !
Instructions:
**Root Required**
Using ADB you can make a copy of the partition and move it to a safe place (Google Drive?):
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/pds of=/sdcard/pds.img
To restore in the event of corruption or loss:
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/pds.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/pds(assuming you've pushed pds.img to internal SDcard storage first)
If for some reason this doesn't work, maybe your IMEI isn't destroyed but only not "readable" by system (file system issue? misread cluster reading frame ? no idea), in that case you may read the following story : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52648789
[SIZE=+1]Q14: How to disable/enable auto On/Off screen with Flip Shell?[/SIZE]
for stock rom : (disabling, since it's enabled by default)
install Xposed framework (and reboot)
install and enable MotoMagnetOff (and reboot)
Follow this FAQ
[SIZE=+1]Q15: How to remove the 'unlocked warning' message?[/SIZE]Follow this method and default Motorola logo will be back .
[SIZE=+1]Q16: How to reboot into 'safe mode'?[/SIZE]
Press power button, on the pop up, either keep pressing 'shut down' [stock] or 'reboot' [AOSP based]

XT1068 (Dual Sim)
[SIZE=+1]Q18: How to get OTA updates even after Rooting and Flashing a custom Recovery[/SIZE]
Use the full unroot option from the Super Su
Flash the stock recovery Use Code : mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img

I was about to build an RC-FAQ for this new device ,
but that doesn't matter as long as you follow the RC-FAQs templates properly (like you did for Moto E)
Good luck !
if you need any help, just PM me!

Hmm I see that you use windows 8, a lot of times it worked when users tried on their windows 7 pc.
And why do you want to lock your bootlader you won't get your warranty back

i am willing to purchase the 2nd gen moto g and i want to know which variant is more development-friendly if there is such a thing. i mean what variant is more easily rooted, customized, and will have more custom roms and generally more developer attention? the single sim XT1063 or the dual sim XT1068?

The single sim is actually more easy to build roms for. However the dual sim will be supported in the same way as you can convert the dual sim into a single sim variant.
So buy whichever version that suits you.
I am expecting to receive my single sim variant very soon

Did anyone notice any lag or freeze while playing 720p videos on the new moto g? Sometimes i see that video freezes and only audio continues to play.

@ srprashant91 : I have been watching 720p video on my XT1068 using MX Player without any lag or stuttering. I have these saved on my 32gb Class 10 Micro SD. Are you streaming the video( wifi/3g), or playing it from internal memory, otg or SD? Also, which app are you using to watch the video? And have you tried using Software and Hardware based decoders if your app has them?

Global Version On AT&T
I was thinking about picking one of these up to use on AT&T (in the USA/California). The US GSM model is sold out. Will the Global GSM version work? And will it work good? Or will there be complications? Thanks for any help (I have been comparing bands and trying to search - but not really finding any concrete answers).
Another question relating to un-rooting in order to go ahead with the OTA update. Super SU has a built in function to 'Full unroot', can those of us who have rooted use this and then apply the OTA update, then root again after the update?
Is there any need to flash stock firmware just to get the latest OTA? The firmware for GB phones isn't available to download yet (well to date I'm unable to find retgb).
To start this journal I will begin by stating, I am not actually sure if it will be possible to finish this journal; from what I have read there can be quite a number of obstacles with international versions of the OPPO, some of which can be quite troublesome, but I thought it would be an interesting and hopefully helpful (for my self and anyone else wanting to do the same) way of going through the process with such a modern device.
The device arrives tomorrow, I wanted to get the initial post in without knowing precise details about the device.
I will update this primary post with the journal entries and post into the main thread when I update it going forwards
-- Entry 1 29/01/2022 00:21 (Dellivery today at some point!)
So far I have found out that cpw means car phone warehouse, which used(still is?) a store in the uk, 'EE' a network provider in the UK releases of the Oppo x3 find pro are apparently identical to releases from this store.
I have asked the user who informed me of this if they could possible put any information they are aware of within this thread.
Also, I will be doing the unboxing and initial looking at what it is via youtube I hope this is ok? I could not see a way to embed video onto this platform!
-- Entry 2 29/01/2022 10:53 (Delivery)
This is just a few images of the arrived device, simply unboxed and put on charge nothing has been set on the device what so ever.

Also note that this image showing the build number is by @alvydas it is not from my device yet! just some more information to add to the journal, this is believed to be the same as mine should show later on when I decide to video/start the phone up
Also for note the CPH (Possible related to CarPhoneWarehouse) prefix in the build number)

Ok so we can't root it and we can't change the boot laoder .... however we can get novo launcher to start by default! The pro version at least!
Not exactly an amazing feat but hey its progress, I also removed the gmail mail application as I preffer outlook (mainly because I have 3 email accounts):
And boy .... you can really remove everything including:
130|OP4F57L1:/ $ pm uninstall --user 0 com.oppo.launcher
The coloros launcher its self X_X, so it seems you cannot get root, but there is no protected package, you can remove ANYTHING.
so this bodes the question .... other than wanting lineage OS of course, how thin can we get it ....
-- Entry 3 10/02/2022 10:53 (Hackery and cleaning)
.... So there is no fastboot on the international model, it is simply not there I even got EE them self to confirm this.
However, I have made some progress in discovering a way to get to the qualcomm flashable download mode, that is it will show up as a:
One of those (if you have the Qualcomm drivers installed), some information I put in the forum about this mode was this:
1) Turn the phone off (shutdown)
2) Hold the power button and the Vol up/down (I Forget which) down all the way through the phone starting, you will feel a little Bzzzzz
3) you will be presented with a menu probably in chinese, this is because you held down the power button and it auto selected the first language (its not a biggie), just press the back touch screen button in the top left <--
4) Select english (or chinese if you preffer!)
5) you will be presented with a menu that has 3 options, Format, Reboot, .... something else ...
6) Select none of the options! look to the bottom of the screen you will see a version mine was v12 o3 v1.2 - double tap this
7) you will get a warning you are entering 'customer service mode', and wallah .... you will get the device show up in device manager.
I was going to shoot a video of this, I still might! but its rather redundant at this point as I am now at a brick wall, I need to figure out how to deal with this mode, can I flash something to it .... how?
I am scrubbing the phone of all the bloatware I can and to be honest I have it pretty damn clean .... but still the fastmode is elusive and what else could be loaded onto this lovely phone.
Entry 1 added - nothing really important
Entry 2 added, initial unboxing simply for charging, video to come soon: looking for details!

Yh that's fine
Entry 3 uploaded, many thanks @alvydasd2 We do have slightly different builds it seems!
So now next up I believe its rooting the phone should be fun, also I beleive there is a way to root a phone but hide it from applications like paypal ... would love to find more out on this
Also have to figure out if all the fancy camera things will work with a custom rom, such as the microscope mode and all the advanced functionalities
Maybe the best initial tangent is to simply root the phone and remove any bloatware as well as installing novolauncher, followed by re-rooting it
That way I will not lose the ability to use the special camera functions and in turn still receive updates, I believe I can actually freeze certain packages too so they are effectively immutable, so they show up but can never run or be changed ... hmmm

Rooting ain't gonna be easy on this phone that's if you can unlock the bootloader which is pretty much impossible unless you have a Chinese variant of the phone or somehow figure out a way to root it without unlocking the bootloader would be a miracle

Check the youtube video, I appear to have lol ... though I did notice that going into the recovery menu is all in chinese ... so I assume its the chinese version:
The only problem being ... I have no idea idea what this menu says -_-
I guess that is tomorrows episode though, connecting it via ADB+TWRP
Usually first thing when you open recovery is choosing a language idk why English wasn't there and btw the difference between the builds is you're running lower firmware so if you try to update it you should get the same build number as me and if u had the Chinese version your model would have been PEEM00 or something like that

Oppo has a weird bootloader cuz it can only be unlocked with an app that only works on Chinese version and to access fastboot u need a unlocked bootloader
just read this .... so there is no way to even fastboot the device https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...access-for-oppo-phones-starting-2016.3348114/
I wonder if you could flash on the chinese version of the firmware
