I get the ftf from xperiafrim
and I attached a screenshot so you can see ftf is present but does not recognize it
the ftf file work in windows
bloodofJesus said:
hmm I miss KDE, try dragging the ftf into the flash tool window, otherwise verify the md5 sum of the ftf, also make sure you're using the latest version.
Why are you running flashtool as root ?

yup kde is really good,
I tried draging it doesnt work
and if i dont run it as root it doesnt run some java file
and the md5 sum is correct, it works in win 10 perfectly
I dont know why but it seems to be kde problem...

how to do it?
bloodofJesus said:
There should be a save log button on the main window, secondly check the preferences maybe there is a setting to make the logs more verbose (on mac I can just select Debug easily),
Thirdly run your flashtool like this;
Code:
sudo -s
java -jar yourFlashtool > flashlog.txt 2>&1
upload "flashlog.txt" and all the logs you could get.
Click to collapse
I did all this but I could get only this line on flashlog.txt
Error: Unable to access jarfile /home/erfanyousefifar/Flashtool
it seems the command didn't run
bloodofJesus said:
where is your .jar file for the flashtool ? are you using flashtool-xperia from the repos or the one from the official site ?

I downloaded flashtools from official website
bloodofJesus said:
you're error
Code:
Error: Unable to access[B] jarfile[/B] /home/erfanyousefifar/Flashtool
My bad, the command needs to be ./FlashTool > flashlog.txt 2>&1 , for the log level of flashtool please check your settings, after you've done this, do what you tried to do before so we can see those errors, as for the flashtool log you can just copy and paste them from the flashtool window.

Yes i did. I installed intel driver and that was working perfectly.. no yellow marks were shown in adb driver and anywhere, i checked thoroughly. And also when i pluged my usb, its showed the mgs. "Installed successfully with a green tick as it does in Windows 7.
There was no issue in driver installation or extraction of files. I extracted the files with same name on desktop and opened the cmd as said.. unfortunately there was error.
"Fastboot"is not recognized as an internal or external command.........."

Hi all, I'm going to be sending my phone off for repairs which will hopefully be done under warranty. So I'm looking to return my phone to stock android for the time being. I've done it before but that was on Windows and now I'm switched to Linux. Is there a method through Linux which doesn't include emulating a Windows environment?

Finally a Linux user!
First of all, download FlashTool for linux by going to this link: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads_linux_prev.php Yes you will be using 0.9.18.6 version as a latest change in 0.9.19 wont allow you to properly flash ftf files.
Extract the file downloaded. Extract the extracted file again (its an archive, inside an archive).
You will now have the Flashtool program in your Linux. To run Flashtool, simply run the file "FlashTool" of the extracted files. But hold on, we need udev support so Flashtool can recognise Sony devices
Create an empty file then enter this in:
Code:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ACTION=="add", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0fce", ATTRS{idProduct}=="*", MODE="0777"
Save it as "51-sony.rules"
Then push (move) it into "/etc/udev/rules.d" with superuser (sudo) permission.
Open terminal
Set correct permission and ownership
Code:
sudo chown root:root /etc/udev/rules.d/51-sony.rules && sudo chmod u=rw,go=r /etc/udev/rules.d/51-sony.rules
Restart udev or system for changes to take effect

I've successfully set it up and reflashed my phone back to stock. The problem is I've downloaded a ROM containing Asian apps whereas I would like a full UK official ROM, just to be on the safe side in case they try and void my warranty. Do you know where I could find a UK 4.2/3 (?) stock rom to use?
Many thanks once again!!

Flashtool as of 0.9.18.5 has integrated Xperifirm into its program, therefore you can now download the ftf that you want right from your flashtool!
Make sure you have Mono-complete package installed. Assuming you use Debian-based distro, please run
Code:
sudo apt-get install mono-complete
Open Flashtool
Click on the XF button (right next to the Plus button)
XperiFirm will be launched
Choose Xperia SP in the sidebar
Choose your Xperia SP model
Find the ROM that you want and click on it
On the right sidebar there will be a single item for you to click it. Click it (under the donate on paypal image)
Confirm download. Please make sure "Unpack automatically" is ticked.
After download complete, close Xperifirm. Flashtool will pack the files downloaded and generates a proper ftf.
Once it completes, you can click on Lightning icon and proceed to flashing the ftf that you have downloaded.

I really need these files in the above post. They are the last step before final testing and release. If anyone can upload them, please do it.
So, I wanted to go back to stock, after trying multiple steps listed here in XDA-dev, and multiple youtube videos and webpages. I will list the erros bellow :
LgUP - "unknown device"... I been having issues with this software since I first attempt to run it. I tried on 2 different computers and have the same issue. Installed the DLL first (like many suggested ) then LGUP and nothing
Flashtools14 - I get the .kdz and attempt to do either "normal" or "CSE" . after comes another window, stating the progress, do not disconnect the phone .. blah blah. After going thru that it stops at 9 % and nothing happens.
After couple of weeks, I thought that if Relocking the bootloader i would be able to go into the "factory Reset" with out booting from TWRP and going back to stock..*stupid move*, and so I did... And here we are with error 1003 MODIFIED
I been looking for answers in order to fix this issue, but they go to the same path... using LGUP or FLASHtools in which both dont work with me
I have this phone
LG G4 H811 Tmobile
Now im trying to see if i can conver a KDZ into a TOT since that process I also know.
If somebody have another method please let me know!
I cant go into recovery since I keep getting the error. pretty much I have a paper weight.

sorry i have no idea. maybe pos in thread go back to stock.
So if I understood you correctly you still have download mode?
Then it can be fixed.
If you want I can guide you through..
For this you need any Linux or best would be if just using FWUL ( http://tinyurl.com/FWULatXDA ).
I recommend to use the persistent mode version so your settings and installations survive a reboot / shutdown.
instructions:
Boot FWUL, choose language & login
Download the KDZ file you want to flash (we need to know the path later e.g. /home/android/Downloads/)
Open the folder LG
Connect device in download mode to the PC
Double click "LG laf NG" icon
Type in the new opened terminal:
sudo python2 auth.py
[*]sudo python2 partitions.py --list
If this lists your partitions then we can proceed with flashing.
Download my brand new kdz manager tool into FWUL: (right click and save as)
When you are not using the persistent mode of FWUL: plug in a big USB stick (e.g. 32 GB or more) into FWUL and extract the attached file there
When you are using the persistent mode of FWUL: just extract it in your download folder
You need to know the full path so best is copying the path from the file manager (e.g. /home/android/Downloads/ ) or leave the file manager open there
Open another terminal (black little icon in the panel)
cd and directly behind this paste the path you copied (e.g. cd /home/android/Downloads/ )
press ENTER
bash kdzmanager.sh -x FILLINFULLPATH-TO-DOWNLOADED-KDZ
(e.g. bash kdzmanager.sh -x /home/android/Downloads/h811blablubb.kdz)
once finished type:
bash kdzmanager.sh --test --flash extracteddz/
(just like this as "extracteddz" is the path generated by the kdzmanager)
This will just test flashing and not actually flash. Let me know the results of this (copy & paste output)
if you can't wait the next step would be actually flashing ofc:
WARNING: by default the kdzmanager will not overwrite userdata (which would be like a factory reset) and I would recommend to leave it out always and better choose the LG factory reset menu (after flashing completed) if required. If you still want to flash it use --with-userdata as a parameter (can take a loooong time then btw).
bash kdzmanager.sh --flash extracteddz/

If you want to have the best FWUL experience use v2.0 and download the persistent mode version of FWUL (it's the ZIP) and read the FAQ to make the persistent mode available in VirtualBox!
This combo is fantastic
I come back in about 3 hours to complete the guide...

(e.g. bash kdzextract.sh -x /home/android/Downloads/h811blablubb.kdz)
once finished type:
bash kdzmanager.sh --test --flash extracteddz/

Saw something a few posts back about virtualbox or vmware...
FWIW, Historically, virtualized Linux Guests don't do so well with USB. I've always had to install it natively or use a LiveUSB distro with persistence.

Your tool is far better than this one because your tool has extracted many such partitions of LG G4 H811 20o KDZ which that tool didn't. E.g. PERSISTENT, DEVINFO, MODEMST1, MODEMST2, DRM etc.

Well. Yet another PhD thesis :good:. There is one thing that I couldn't understand though. At one place you mentioned that Hint: not wiping userdata can occur in a bootloop while at the other place you said WARNING: by default the kdzmanager will not overwrite userdata. Does it mean that flashing can cause bootloop if kdzmanager is used with default options?
Secondly, does it also support TOTs as LGUP does?
guys i need support , i want to downgrade my sony from 7.1.1 to 6.0.1 to root and backup that key but i ended up twice with
ERROR - Processing of system.sin finished with errors.
please help , i cant find anything usefull than extract that file and install it , but that wont work if i soft brick it
Do you use the latest Flashtool(0.9.23.2) to flash the FTF file?
If yes, sometimes just flash FTF again right after error occurs may fix the problem.

Use this tool to backup your TA partition.
You need to backup it in Android system with adb access, not Download mode or Flash mode.
To check if your computer has adb access, simply type "adb devices" in the command window.

I see you have enabled ADB on your device, and connected to your computer. But ADB did not find your device.
Maybe you should re-install your adb driver.
You can download ADB Installer by @Snoop05 here.
After installing ADB driver correctly, you should see your device on adb device list.
