How reliable Bootloader Unlock Check in hidden menu is? - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi,
I have recently rolled back to stock firmware (4.1.2). As usual, I wanted to unlock it again but "Bootloader Unlock Check" in hidden menu says "unlock",
dialer: 3845#*880# --> Bootloader Unlock Check --> Bootloader Unlock Check --> Unlock
And the following is the output of "fastboot getvar all"
$ fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.0
(bootloader) version-baseband: 2.0
(bootloader) version: 0.4
(bootloader) serialno: ????????????

(bootloader) partition-type:cache: ext4
(bootloader) partition-size:userdata:
(bootloader) partition-type:userdata:
Definitely it is still locked because, look at below
$ fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-p880.img
sending 'recovery' (8182 KB)...
FAILED (remote: Bootloader is locked.)
finished. total time: 0.140s
So, my question is
How reliable Bootloader Unlock Check in hidden menu is? or what is wrong?

try install CWM
will try now, heres the link to the one i used i used, ive noticed its a little smaller in size than the euro version
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=413936&uk=674610329
I'm going back to 4.0.3, then update it to 4.1.2 Chinese.
Then prove if the bootloader is unlocked

+1 Waiting for news, I'm on 234-000, too
ive done the first part of the cwn recovery - ive copied the files over and gone into normal recovery and the unsecured boot.img must be working as adb is there right from the start but im stuck on the next step. in the cmds i must enter it mentions /mnt/sdcard/ but they are not there
going to try put the images elsewhere and alter the cmd's accordingly
sounds like it could work!!

ive removed my serial number from picture for obvious reasons
im thinking trying to put the euro xxx version flashed with only kdz update and see if it says still that its unlocked

story is you cannot even use adb reboot oem-unlock on that version, so if it works now, maybe you can flash to images too?
ie.
fastboot flash lnx boot.img
and
fastboot flash sos recovery.img
might be you need to write boot and recovery, didnt actually confirm the above yet.
il give it a try
its been the fastboot oem unlock that seems to have been doing it,i reflashed and done only that command , heres a screenshot
with the fastboot flash sos recovery.img i get the following
sending 'sos' (6612 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.513s]
writing 'sos'...

Stuck in fastboot, LG L90 D405N

Hello,
I made a mistake of using a .bat file created by someone to unlock my bootloader. After going through the .bat file, I see that it nulled my boot.img file on the phone, so now I'm stuck in fastboot mode (previously nulled LAF to get access). The irony here is that I do have a backup of the boot.img file on both my PC and on the phone's internal memory, but there's no way (atleast I haven't found one) to actually flash it back so it would work. So my question here would be - do you guys have any ideas how should I proceed? I tried using fastboot flash, but all I get in turn is an error:
"FAILED (remote: unknown command)"
Device is not unlocked (as I was trying to get it unlocked). I have no access to anything else other than fastboot.
getvar all outputs this:

A fastboot getvar anti question

Hello !
I wanted to check if ARB was activated on my mi8 (Locked bootloader, miui 9.5 version 9.6.7.0) , so I launched the command "fastboot getvar anti" in fastboot mode and it says "error: no such variable"
So then I launched "fastboot getvar all" and this is what it printed :

Shouldn't I have an "anti" variable with a number normally ?
does I have ARB activated or is there another way to know if ARB is activated ?
Thanks in advance for your answer !

But shouldn't we have "anti" followed by 2 or 3 at least ?
Try "fastboot getvar anti" and see the result.

Unable to boot with other image with fastboot

Hi there,
I would like to root my Nokia 8 phone as it went out of warranty. I am new to deep Android hacks so I am basically following the guide: How to root your Nokia 8. My bootloader is unlocked with the official procedure. The next step is to boot with a TWRP or a prerooted image and install Magisk.
Unfortunately when I use the fastboot utility, the loading is done corectly and the phone reboots but then gets stuck on the "Powered by Android" splashscreen. This is occuring with both twrp-3.2.3-0-NB1.img and twrp-3.2.3-1-NB1.img
Here is the content of "fastboot getvar all" if that's relevant:
Code:
(bootloader) unlocked:yes

Has someone got the same error and solved it? Is there any way to print some debug information during the booting step?
Thanks,

OK, I found an answer there: https://tmsp.io/fs/xda/nb1/README.txt
Temporary booting:
As of NB1-488G-0-00WW-B01 the command "fastboot boot" is broken and does
not work like it should. It will lock you in the "Powered by Android"
screen without actually booting the image you supplied. To exit the screen,
please do "fastboot reboot" and then flash the image you wanted to boot to
your active boot partition.

So you can't actually use TWRP without installing it with a up-to-date firmware. Why the Rooting Guide is not updated with this information? This isue is old as it appeared with the 2018-08 security patch.

The only way to install the offical TWRP on Android 9 is to flash TWRP to boot slot B then install TWRP zip for both slots so slot A will receive TWRP. the only thing left is to switch back to slot A.
