Hey all,
after i ran cyagon mod for a while now i wanted to try the newest version of the normal sony software. Installation worked fine via pc-compagnon but now my x8 is stuck in an permanent reboot status. it is always booting until the ericcson logo and then restarting again. The only thing which seems to work is to take out the battery and press the return button while putting it in again to get into flash-mode for like 5 seconds. when it disconnects again.
what can i do?
try use flashtool to flash

Hi all
I unlocked the bootloader, then rooted the phone then flashed a custom ROM. All went well, then for some reason the phone switched off and for a few hours it would not turn on at all. I left it on charge and eventually I could turn it back on.
However since then I have not be able to boot into fastboot made at all. When i first turn the phone on I am clicking the up volume to get into fastboot, but I never get the sony logo, instead it goes straight to the boot image from the rom (the colourful X), and it does not progress any further, I think the ROM was KA revolution.
Anyone have any ideas? I am completely stuck
and I have followed the steps here using the Update service tool from SONY http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2216974
the phone detects fine but it tells me I have custom software and it can't be updated.
fixed now... its all good
Sorry for the bump but do you mind telling me how you got it working?
Hello.
About one month ago I rooted my Galaxy Note and flashed Phliz kernel, but kept the original ROM.
A couple days ago my phone started to have some screen flickering and battery drain issues. The screen started flickering and the battery drained till 15%, when the phone completely shuts down. This happened a couple of times. I always put the phone to charge after this, and was able to power it on.
But today this happened and when I tried to power the phone on, it stucked on the Samsung logo screen. And stays there forever. I tried to restart and even do a factory reset (I dont care about my data since its everything on the cloud). The problem persists.
When I put the phone to charge the battery charging icon appears and apparently it charges normally.
I am able to enter the Recovery mode (CWM Touch) and the Download too.
What should I do? Can the problem be the battery? Maybe I should unroot it? Flash a stock kernel?

Can I follow your video step-by-step even having a custom kernel (Philz) and CWM?

I did it. I followed your step-by-step video. Everything seen to be ok. Unfortunately the same error is happening, the only difference is that it's stuck on the Nexus welcome screen (the X), not the old Samsung screen.
It kept this screen till the screen started flickering again and the phone shut down, as before.
So, I changed the recovery to the normal 6, the kernel to the CM and the ROM to the Nexus 4. None of these solve my problem. What to do now?
So... I tried to flash a stock ROM (JB XXLSZ) through Odin. I did everything according to this video ?v=nmLm2pTdxk0 from youtube.
I also changed my battery to another (non-original) that I arranged. Now the flickering stopped.
Now I'm on a bootloop (like he was at the first try), but I tried the second time and it continues on a bootloop. Also, when I go to the stock recovery, it says:
"e: Failed to mount /efs (Invalide argument)"
It appears I bricked my phone? I do not have an efs backup.
Can anyone help me?
No one? Common guys, I don't know what to do...

i haven't done anything to my phone since I received it, I didn't root it or anything so i assume it's locked!
ok so my phone is working now I tried everything all night long seriously nothing worked. Then I just gave up and went to sleep. I tried to repair it again in the morning after charging the phone all night long, and suddenly the repair was successful and my phone booted up Seems like the first update error drained all my battery power and it wasn't able to perform repair for that reason! But it's working now I'm on Lollipop and everything's working fine
I feel like this is going to be a long thread but I'll make it short as much as possible with as much details
I have a SONY Xperia SP C5303 stuck in a boot loop, it was given to me by a friend.
The phone was on stock firmware, android 4.3, unrooted, bootloader locked.
As he was using the phone while charging, he activated WiFi, after a while he activated Bluetooth (WiFi and Bluetooth at the same time) and then it just turned off, rebooted and stuck in the "SONY logo => Xperia logo=> Orange logo" boot loop and then it just fades away and blacks out and reboots.
After many attempts, he wasn't able to fix it and he gave it to me .
Now the first thing I did was flashing it using FlashTool with the firmware "C5303_12.1.A.1.207_AU" but still stuck on boot loop, the only thing that happened is that the Orange logo changed into the colorful waves animation.
I flashed it a couple of times more, the same method, but still, the same results.
Next thing I did, I updated it using SONY PC Companion, after the update finished, it was still in boot loop (ALTHOUGH, the lock screen DID appear but I was not able to do anything, and the screen faded away again)
So, I sent it to a repairer, here's what he have done :
_ He did something (?) and gave it back to me with 0 charge, so I charged it at home and when I turned it on, still boot loop, so I returned it to him.
_ This time, it ACTUALLY worked ! The phone came back to life, everything was working just fine, until I activated WiFi and I noticed that it's not working, then I activated Bluetooth as well (AT THE SAME TIME, remember what I said at first ?) then the screen just faded away and back to boot loop, I sent it back to the repairer and told him that he hasn't changed anything and that the real issue is that WiFi and Bluetooth do not work/cause boot loop when working at the same time
_ He revived the phone once again but the WiFi/Bluetooth issue was not fixed and he told me that there's nothing he can do anymore, and he refunded me.
I can't complain though cause all I wanted was the phone working !! I didn't care less about WiFi nor Bluetooth.
This morning, as I wanted to root the device, I tried the DoomLord Easy Rooting Toolkit, after flashing the first kernel using FlashTool (Yes, I followed the steps VERY carefully) and after the flash of the kernel finished, the phone is once again in boot loop, this time boot looping on the SONY logo only
So the conclusion is that the phone can actually be revived. How ? That's what I'd kill to know !! (Jk)
I tried flashing again the "C5303_12.1.A.1.207_AU" (4.3) but nothing, then I tried the previous firmware (4.1) but still nothing.
Sometimes, after the flashing, when the phone boots for the first time, the lock screen appears but fades away again (unable to touch anything)
SO PLEAAAAAAASE !! If there's anything I can do, please tell me, all I want is for the phone to work, hell to the data or anything else, also don't mind the warranty at all. And I'm not from the US, so there are no SONY service points here
There's a video in the rar file attached down there, it shows how the boot loop happens.

I assume you've got no recovery installed? flash the william's kernel elf in flashtool. This will give you a kernel which has recovery so what you have to do is download and flash Omni-X, Nexus Prime's omni (my personal favorite) or Paranoid Android. These are all LBL Roms so you don't have to worry about anything at all. Also flash the Super Su binary. I'll provide the links to all these if you want.
Indeed, no recovery installed and PLEASE DO GIVE ME THE LINKS !! I'll try again and again until it's fixed, although I highly doubt that it will.
If all fails, I will just send it to the repairer once again to bring it back to life once again

I know he can't flash the kernel since he's on a locked bootloader. But if he flashes the rom as soon as booting into the recovery, then he will be using the stock .207 kernel and the Rom will boot
