Hey,
My phone is gt-19295 with 5.0.1 Android
And my external Hdd is WD 500gb my passport.
I bought a otg cable , and connected the hdd with my phone and used paragon software to mount the drives since it's NTFS.
The problem here , that I can explore files and copy them and open images,
But I'm not able to play videos and songs directly from the hdd!!!!
I have to copy them to my phone first!!
I'm so confused , I thought it could be permissions issue , I checked with root explorer and es explorer the files got all the permissions!!!
I thought the directory could be unreadable by the video or audio player, but I tried to copy the directory and paste it in video stream ,it didn't work either!!
Any one have any idea?!
Thanks Professionals.

Can't copy the big files (like video ,more than 200M) to my NOOK 8G disk by the USB cable ,but it's OK for the small files (like document, mp3 , less than 100M). After the copy start ,The PC will show the error "the disk is not ready", then the copy is interrupted. Erased and rebooted the NOOK, changed the PC and the USB cable, but the problem still exists. What's the problem? Thanks!
Hello. I'm using miui which I think is based off AOSP ICS.
The problem is when connected through usb, the storage drives don't show up on PC side. I've tried sd card mount app, but without success.
Please help me and tell me how I can get this done so I can move files back and through the usb cable.
THANK YOUUUUUUU
Use Droid Explorer.
Installed Droid Explorer for pc, and installed it with Android SDK, mounted sd cards using app, and managed to get droid explorer to recognize the sd cards.
But the interface is kinda of weird, and I can't copy over or make a new folder within droid explorer. The only thing I can do is copy over individual files, and then make a folder using my Phone's explorer then putting them into the folder.
Is this the only way to transfer files to my phone besides using wifi trasnfer or taking the external sd card out of the phone? isn't there a way to just get the pc to recognize the phone's sd card and just use the windows explorer? (is this due to the AOSP ROM?)

just bought lumia 620..didnt get memory card in retail package..so right now i just have phone's internal memory to store data..now the problem is..after connecting device to the PC, whenever i transfer files from PC to device, m able to see them in explorer of desktop os..but when i send .xap files from my android phone over bluetooth, m neither be able to install them in lumia nor able to see them in explorer when i connect it to PC..in simple words, where unrecognizable files (transferred over bluetooth) get stored in wp?? or how to see ALL contents of internal memory of wp?? i just want to remove those files transferred over bluetooth to clear the space and which are not seen in mass storage mode
hope you understand what i wanted to say..
You need SD card to side load applications.
Phone memory is not all seen by the system because part of it is occupied by windows phone OS root files, which protect themselves against other explorers.
Ya.. But how do I clear those files? Unnecessarily taking space.. seems internal memory connects in MTP mode n not in mass storage mode.. :X
You should be able to delete the files from the built-in file explorer from the phone.

Click to collapse
as far as i know, there no full functioning file manager available for wp..we just can see music, photos and videos..
Hello
I'm trying to enable NTFS support on my rooted Xperia V running stock 4.3 android, but none of the play store apps (paragon, stick mount, ntfs mounter etc.) worked.
How can i solve it?
NTFS?
So let me get this straight..
You would like to run a windows file system on your phone?
Or you just want to access your windows computers file system over the network?
If it's the latter then ES file explorer has a more than capable network share connector.
If the former then you will need to look here for the answer.

Funny what searching the forum shows up.
Thanks.
I just bought a 64 GB SD card and I would like to beat the FAT32's 4 GB file size restriction, but the phone doesn't support ExFAT or NTFS.
When I tried to mount it with paragon, my phone rebooted, than I saw only the sony logo agian and again, the Ntfs mounter force closed, the NtfsSd said, the resource is busy.
(the paragon worked with a pendrive and an OTG cabel, but nothing with the SD card)
I will try the second post, you suggested, thanks once again.
is OTG supposed to work with the resurrection remix rom on this tablet?
i got a cheap OTG adapter from aliexpress and when i try to use it with a formatted FAT32 thumb drive android will detect the drive and ask if i want to open ES file explorer but when i try to read the drive there is nothing showing up in there, i put some .jpg and .png files on it and they don't show up so am i doing something wrong? is it my cheap adapter that is faulty or does it just not work on this tablet with this rom?
i tried ES and some other file explorer that was installed with the pico gapps i installed i assume and it shows a usb drive but it is always empty , i never used OTG before BTW so i have no idea what i am doing
