thank you for help. An other question, can I buy the Jogdial seperatly?
thank you again for help
well Google might help with that, all I know is that it is soldered onto the Motherboard and even if you can buy a new one, you will have to use a surface board soldering iron to install it.
Ok, thanks. I used google, but only for the jog-wheel, not for a motherboard.
Thank you again. can be close!

unless you find someone selling theirs for parts, finding a mobo/ribbon would be pretty much impossible.
You're better off buying a new x1.

Hi and good morning,
did you replace the display connector socket? I also have to do this but I don't have an idea how to do. Do you have some hints for me. It would be great.
Thanks in advance.
I must do this as well!!!
A friend of mine told me that if the connector is not fully broken you could add some paper tape on the back side of the flex cable so it would make contact and fit tightly, that worked for him.
I am waiting for replacement LCD and would personally test this.
Replacing the socket on the MB is not imposible but requires soldering station.
HD2 Motherboard is not easy to get
Bro i am in Shenzhen China ,just want to tell you that it`s not easy to get the motherboard as it can not be tested , No one know if it work or not before sell
it`s better to has it fixed in the repair shop While LCD is easier to get
I've seen the external batteries, a DIY possibility, but without compromising the integrity of constantly opening and re-opening the flaps, what are the best options of charging the device?
Without taking off its case considering I have butterfingers lol.
Thanks
A charging cradle, magnetic charger which is pretty expensive and you can build your homemade cradle if you cant afford the original one

Buy a dock or get a wireless charging kit.

No, you don't have to open the flap to use cases with attached external battery. Do a search of this section of the forum and you'll find plenty of options.

thanks
You can also buy magnetic USB cable, there are many of them on AliExpress. I bought one for my dad because he always tries to connect the charger while driving and with this cable it's just 1 second task plus the port doesn't get dirty and won't get loose.
I ended up using the 3d printer at work to print myself some dust covers
