You need to install ZIP version.
CWM / TWRP / MobileODIN installable ZIP: "ht tp://download.chainfire.eu/supersu"
After that, no problems!

How do you do it? Use Odin to go to recovery mode, just like root the phone again? Or is there an easier way?
Thanks

Hi Everyone, I am Pushkar Dua just wanted to share a rooting guide for Nexus 5 Android 5.0.1
As many people Reported that Root has stopped working after the 5.0.1 Update or previous Binaries lead device to Boot Loop,
Please Download Latest Binaries That i am providing here: http://download.chainfire.eu/641/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.40.zip
And flash it with TWRP recovery..
Please Use TWRP Version 2.8.1.0 as people reported some problems in latest 2.8.2.0 version.
Downlaload TWRP 2.8.1.0
Please note: if you're having a problem with twrp 2.8.1.0 asking for password..
Please use twrp 2.0.4.5
just reboot to system and you will have root access..
Watch the video for more info and Please Hit thanks or subscribe me on youtube to support me! every bit will be strongly appreciated!

Hey!
Thanks a lot. Really helped solve my problem!
No problem
This doesn't belong in Development.
Actually i am not sure where should this be.. I'd request modders to please move it to the correct board!
Thanks man!

Since you've probably lost your custom recovery upgrading to 5.0.1, you can grab the TWRP images for Nexus 5 here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/hammerhead
I believe you need to use 2.8.1.0 since 2.8.2.0 either doesn't work or is causing problems for many users.

Isn't CF-Auto root adding files from the 5.0 release over the 5.0.1 ? Isn't it safer to wait for a 5.0.1 autoroot?

How did you update from a rooted (with CF-Auto Root) 5.0 to 5.0.1 you just received the OTA and installed it without any problems ?
I like to know because i am on 5.0 stock just rooted with CF_Auto root.
So no more need for CF-Auto?
Just flashing SuperSU zip with TWRP is enough?
I flashed a Custom Rom Using TWRP which doesn't have any root permission...

Guys, i installed the 5.0.1 update by fastboot flashing system, boot and radio. I lost my custom recovery tho (CWR). I now tried to install TWRP, but after flashing the recovery image, the recovery still hasnt changed. Could i just flash CRW or should i use TWRP for this version?

This. I flash with it here since 4.4.4 and it did everything just fine. Not only it is an app to automatically root, but it gives very good hints, and provides lots of others features like installing Apks, getting a adb prompt, and so much more. Greatest third party Android app I have tried. Highly recommended, didn't even had to wait they update it for 5.0.1, as soon I got the 5.0.1 OTA notification, Nexus Root Toolkit was already ready for it.

This is lollipop security, custom recover wouldn't stick, after each reboot it will replaced with stock one, of course there is a way to make it sticky just search the forum.

That's always been enough. You can use Cf's auto root if you don't want to use a custom recovery.

If you type in terminal in TWRP:
echo SYSTEMLESS=false>/data/.supersu
It will force it to install as normal and not systemless

For me no need to flash a boot.img, I just reflashed Resurrection Remix and forced SuperSU to flash as system instead of systemless since ES File Xplorer has a problem with systemless root.

Hi guys,
Well, i tried to flash the root file, but it doesn't boot. I think is bootloop. I have EVA-L09C432B378
I did it by flashing the boot.img on fastboot.
Any idea?
Thanks

I think the real problem here is with the TWRP version. We'll just have to wait for the correct one. 3.0.3-0 seems to be the only version that works for me right now. 3.1.0-0 & 3.1.0-1 doesn't work for me. TWRP 3.0.3-0 can't flash the zip files compatible with EMUI 5 Nougat.

Hi everyone. I am rooted, with TWRP, version B170 and Magisk installed. Also some Magisk modules like Viper4Android, audio modification library and Busybox.
I want to uninstall it and install SuperSu, as some stuff like the adblock isn't working and didn't have problems in the past with SuperSu.
How may I proceed? Is it safe to do it or should I should I make a factory reset?
Thanks!

UnSu works for Magisk? The magisk app has an uninstall button, but don't know if that is safe.
The SuperSu zip has to be installed in TWRP right?
Thanks for the answer.

I think magisk uninstall button is safe.
Or you could just re-flash boot.img. (Also I think magisk takes back-up of your boot.img and uninstall restores it. Not 100% sure but I think I read that from soemwhere.)

Man I did that and now I am stuck at "Your device is booting now...", what could go wrong?
No panic. Flash again the unSu, then the magisk uninstall by TWRP. Then restore again the stock kernel and flash superSu.
If this does not help:
Restore the stock kernel, flash magisk, uninstall magisk, restore again the stock kernel and flash superSu.

I don't have it. I don't care making a factory reset and then installing SuperSu, but how can I do that without bricking it?
Thanks for your time.
You must flash the stock kernel and the stock recovery. Then you can make a factory reset without worry.

Did that, but the factory reset stays at 99%, and I have to force a reset, then it seems to end the factory reset, but it bootloops 1 time and then doesn't boot anymore...
Any other way to do it?
Oh men I miss my Moto G
Repeat the Factoryreset and have patience. The last% can take up to 30 minutes. If you still do not come to 100, repeat this in TWRP.

Waited for at least 45 minutes, but still in 99%.
Then installed TWRP and did factory reset but no luck, still it seems to boot but after the bootanimation it restarts and goes to eRecovery, then doesn't even try to boot.
What is the next step? Maybe I am not using the right boot.img? I am using the one you provided me.
Any unbrick tutorial to follow?
Thank you again..

Firmware from firmware finder website.
Flssh via dload or extract the boot.img from update.app file via Huawei extractor and flash via fastboot.
Also i posted a guide for rooting see if you can use that twrp and SuperSU.
