no links, sorry. but its fairy straight forward..
1. unlock the option for, then fastboot unlock your bootloader
2. fastboot flash twrp recovery
3 flash the latest supersu in twrp recovery
4 boot up and have root
How is the N6 a lot harder to root?

Bad advice adb/fastboot is the only reliable method wich you have control over.

2 & 3 both, to your option of obtaining root. its your opinion and that's all it is. as my method has been used for many years and answers his question, correctly. all you are doing is giving a new option. which in no way makes my way unnecessary nor bad advice.
Like posted before, just download wugfresh's root toolkit in the nexus 6 forums. It's very easy to use and basically does all the work for you, and if you screw something up it's usually a pretty simple fix. But remember to ALWAYS back up your data before doing anything incase something goes wrong or delete your data by mistake. If you need more help just pm me.

He can always come here and learn it the proper way. After opening a dozen of threads of "help my phone is bricked".
Cleaned (despite being in Q and A). And closed.
The OP should make their own mind up on the evidence AND experience provided by "Recognised" sources.

Your signature says you are 'rooted' already, but maybe 'unlocked' is the better term? Since your phone appears to be unlocked and s-off, you are all set to use custom 'rooted' ROMs. There are several rooted Lollipop ROMs to choose from in the development section.

Alright, before I get all into this post, If I'm like, posting this in the wrong section I apologize deeply. New, but I would love to have this question answered.
I recently switched from iPhone to my Nexus 6. Love it. I want to root my Nexus 6 though, I have this from T-Mobile and it's running Android 5.1 right now, are there any guides out there or videos that you could link that runs me through how to root it that won't break my phone since I'm running 5.1? Thanks.

You don't need to flash twrp.
a) You can fastboot boot cf-auto-root.img
b) You can fastboot boot twrp.img and then adb sideload root.zip through it.
This is a Nexus with fastboot. Not a samsuck.

The only thing breaking phones is not knowing what you`re doing followed by making the wrong decision All 2 above suggestions are great btw.
Sm-n910t T-mobile
(Update)
I ended up having to do a factory reset so it's working nice and smooth now. So the question is should I go about flashing a custom rom in Odin then using TWRP and as my custom recovery? Or just try it again or wait it out until more people have more success?
(EDIT) MY PHONE ISNT STUCK IN A BOOTLOOP BUT NOW ITS EXTREMLY SLOW.
I used this guide to root my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/sm-n910-cf-auto-root-t2897428/page160 did I miss anything ? should a flash twp onto my phone? im a complete noob to this and I made the mistake of rooting my main phone first please help.
well I woke this morning to my phone stuck in a bootloop it started to act funny right as I had to go to sleep. I cleared the cache didn't work so I had to factory reset and it worked but said my phone was no longer rooted so I repeated the process and rerooted my phone but now its in in the bootloop again what should I do to fix this?

Nice. Just to make sure, when you say you did the msm tool "reload", do you mean you used it to restore your phone? Was your phone formatted/wiped?

You shouldnt update your Tmob converted, the call audio is borked. Nodebes usar esta version en tu Tmob convertido. Las llamadas no se escuchan bien. en mi caso yo escuchaba pero a mi no me escuchaban.

Check page 407 of the Android 10 beta discussion. You have to download a payload extractor from https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850510260
No issues after flashing Google dialer.
Everyone can hear me, and I can hear everyone on phone speaker, speakerphone, bluetooth and Android Auto.

Look 3 posts above at my reply. You have to download the OB1 zip and extract it using the tool I posted. Then flash through fastboot in the order that the post says. Bootloader must be unlocked. You can also download the patched boot.img with magisk.

Not go off topic, but I went from my Nexus 6 to the 6T. While I love the 6T, I still miss my nexus 6 and am even considering getting another one, although not sure if I would use it as my daily.

You don't have to flash the patched boot.img. With the stock boot.img you won't have root, the patched one will give you root access. Never lock your bootloader if your rooted.
