Power off charge screen. - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When you charge with the power off. It looks dumb everything looks good except this gif of juice flowing. WHY?? Amazon made it look really cheap kind of! Also is there a way to change it? Like Samsung.

Those images are held in system/vendor if I remember right

Mutimedia Desktop Dock

Hello again, Nerdz.
This review will be for the all mighty docking station with built in battery charger and spare battery. I found it for $49.97 and received a 20% discount with the purchase of two other accessories. One of which was the Power and Protection Package that was aleady marked down by 25 dollars and I still received the 20% off of the damn box as well. I hope your experience will be as excellent as mine. (Father's Day weekend) I scored an awesome wife..
After a long hard day of work the last thing you wanna do is stare at your phone. So I give you the DOCKtor. It is your basic docking station with one micro USB port for the power pusher. It has a recessed area for the USB port protector and can also fit the phone with the expanded battery attached. The battery port is also equipped to fit the fat beast of a battery you may or have purchased. it has a light indicator for the charging battery. (Red, Yellow, Green) and a nice white LG logo that illuminates once the phone is docked. DESKHOME launches and automatically displays the digital time.
Let go of your phone and enjoy your much bigger monitor sitting on your desk. This works great with the HDMI cord plugged into my HDTV and the AUX from the sound system leading into the phone. It is a nice way to ignore the ROKU and tell it, "anything you can do my phone can do better!"

What case is that in those pics? Do you like it? The stand looks kind of awesome, but I can't tell if the bulk of it is distracting at all.
also curious about which case you got.

I just picked up this case off Amazon. There is a belt clip that goes with it. Works great.

that case is practically standard for most smart phones in the verizon area they have like that case for almost every smartphone just go in there and ask to purchase the belt clip for your phone and they will probably bring out that one....saw one for the iphone too and the thunderbolt and all kinds of other phone lol

Very true. Just a heads up, Verizon sells it for $29.99 plus tax. Amazon? $17.00, no shipping. I love mine. I had on my phone for 20 minutes, then my twin 18 month old boys and I were playing, one little guy reached in my pocket and ran off in 2.5 seconds. Then it went across the room, and off the dining room table, bounced off the floor and out the door as my wife was coming in the house. It finally rested on my concrete patio. It was ridiculous! Phone? Perfect. Case? Barely a scratch.

I've had two different desktop docks and has anyone else noticed that when they painted them, they left some spots thin so you can see light shine thru. It was better on my second one, but there are still spots.
+1on the belt clip case with the fold out stand....works great. I got it from the verizon website when i ordered my revo.
The desktop dock is on the vzw website, amazon, etc.

I have that same case but I was having problems with the phone getting very hot. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem?
I haven't had the heating issue. My only complaint is they don't make that case for an extended battery. otherwise, I love it. fits the holster nice...Its good.

rather disappointing, only 1500 for what looks like double the thickness, you mean to tell me that 1500 is all they can fit in there?
besides for me personally how that thing works would render battery tweak pointless as the phone is convinced its "plugged in", so it would always be running at the max.
cool concept but seems way too big and bulky for my taste

you can turn the power on and off. so you can run the battery completely down and then turn it on. so it would run normally and then charge from the power suit.

Ok... so I missed around with the powerskin a bit over the last 2 days.
As far as function goes, it works really really well. It prioritizes the phone over itself when plugged in, has a button to handle checking charge and enabling/disabling the charging when not plugged in. It works pretty perfectly from a purely functional standpoint.
The feel of the powerskin is also really nice. the soft touch or whatever feels really good in your hand.
It's a little bigger than I expected (though I didn't really know what to expect) but it is not as big as some of the 3500 or so extended batteries I've had on past phones.
That said... I know most people just want the visual, so here are some pictures. The flash makes the powerskin look grey-ish, but it's not. It's actually just as dark black as the Nexus S case itself... it just isn't shiny.
Last two pictures...
Darn little to bulky for me.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G
Yeah, I won't (and don't need to) use it for daily stuff, but long outings or flights... perfect.
Hard decision. I really would like to double my battery life to make it through the really heavy days but that case is just monstrous looking.

No problem... I will say that the pictures make it look more giant than it feels when I hold it. Not sure that is helpful, but my opinion on it is that the size is a smaller con than the function and convenience is a pro.

[Q] Smart Wireless Charging Phone Sleeve for Nexus 6

Guys, I'm going to be launching a wireless charging phone sleeve on Kickstarter (Novelsys ampere) in January for the Nexus 6. The unique selling point will be the Smart app that communicates with the sleeve.
I'm doing research for the launch now to determine what features to incorporate in this app:
Display estimated battery life in hrs of phone and ampere
Control when charging starts
find your phone or ampere when one is missing
notifications to recharge at time or location
What other features would you like to see? I've recently posted in the S5 and Nexus 5 forums too, and I've been told not to dilute the product, which I agree with heartily. These are the features I've narrowed it down to. What other things do you think we need to bake in? It will probably be open to developers post-Kickstarter.
I myself use a Nexus 4 with Qi built in but I haven't found a satisfactory wireless charging solution yet... that's kinda why I worked on my own.
See more about the product: http://kickstarter.novelsys.co
Just subscribed on your website
Okay so this is meant to protect the phone and charge it at the same time? Im assuming there is a battery inside the case as well as a qi transmitter?
That's right. Paired with an app. And higher build quality than from your typical Qi charger. What do you think about the idea?
Subscribed as well...if you need a beta tester let me know.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Looks excellent, but you need to figure out a solution to why sleeves suck, they either have no top and don't hold the phone well or are too tight.
As long as it comes in black so I can keep it on with my uniform!
I'll beta if I need to as well!
Would you like my wallet now, or later?
Seriously, I hope this will be as good as it sounds.
Yes its black, and the internal colour has been changed from orange to grey so its more suitable for corporate environments!
That's an interesting perspective on sleeves. Yes will take that into account when testing.
aiight, im jumping on the bandwagon too. :fingers-crossed:
just subb'ed and am following you cats on instagram...
I think I'm getting a QI enabled power bank for Christmas..... But a sleeve makes much more sense! I think its a great idea. Definitely more secure and will keep the QI aligned to ensure it stays charging.
Any info about the mah of the sleeve for the Nexus 6. Would need to be enough to charge the device at least twice in my opinion.
What about a using magnets to help secure the phone inside the sleeve instead of just tension?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Premium HD
honestly seems like a pretty good idea, the potential problems I see for this are targeting the correct consumer base. The phone is already big, this will make it huge, therefore its not going in anyones pocket. So, who carries phones around not in a pocket? People that have other places to put them, who has other places to put them?
1. Women (in their purse)
2. Older executives in a briefcase maybe?
3. College kids who might carry a backpack?
I may be wrong, but as much as I would like something like this, its just too inconvenient not to have my phone in my pocket. There's still some clip phone people out there, maybe adding a clip would help? Just my 2 cents, love the idea, just concerned its not being designed for the right demographic aesthetically.
The problem for me as others have mentioned is the bulkiness of the sleeve. When you add in the 3,000mah battery (assuming it would at least be this size) and coils for qi charging it's going to pretty thick. I'm Ok with that because this would be on my visor in my work truck, but wouldn't go great in pocket.
if you are taking the no idea is a bad idea approach, what if you incorporated this into a car mount with the display revealed, so every day I got into my car I could slide it in, and it would charge, then I could slide it out and take it with me, or if I KNEW i was going to need extra battery, I could detach the whole thing and clip it to a belt or throw it in a pack?

Agree with this idea!
I don't mean to intercept, but in the meantime and between time...
I've received this pouch/sleeve (handmade) and posted a bit about it here:

This pouch/sleeve has a front pocket and I slid in one of the Fone Qi Stone+ wireless portable chargers I use in that pouch and boom! Portable charging on the go.
Very cool idea man. I'll back that.
It looks promising, is there rough price range for the sleeve?

That's a pretty sweet idea! Maybe that could come as a stretch goal or in the next iteration of ampere. I originally included a pocket at the back of the sleeve for cards and cash but didn't like the aesthetics/ bulk of it. That could actually have been space for a belt clip. Hmm. I could find some way to hack around it maybe.... thanks for the brilliant idea.

Please, feel free to share. I've been searching tirelessly for potential competitors too so I can learn how to improve ampere's user experience.
You know what, that's where I got the idea for ampere too, but I think I've made ampere sufficiently sexy, slim, and seamless with alignment + smart charging app that you'll at least consider it over that? If you must know, that was what I put together for the MVP (prototype) to prove product validation. So I guess you can say you just recreated ampere v1.

I thought about magnets too, but the sleeve itself helps with securing the phone and alignment. Magnets would make it harder to get the phone out of the sleeve, and would necessitate some kind of strap to lift the phone out, which in turn adds some to bulk.

Mophie battery case with wireless charging

So let me start off by saying the battery life on the s7 Edge is amazing. This case is only something you might need if you plan on being away from a charger for a while or are a very heavy user.... that being said, this case is great. I just got it so stay tuned for updates on how well it works. For how long ive used it though it seems like it charges the phone pretty fast and the wireless charging works well with the chotech fast wireless charging pad. It is pretty heavy, but nothing rediculous. The thickness is what i dislike the most but it is still pocketable.
Does anyone else have an issue with the screen protectors being lifted up be cases? I have a couple spigen cases and they always lift up my screen protector. It drives me crazy but the mophie one is just designed better. It doesnt lift at all..
On a side note, the speaker port isnt totally aligned but I havent noticed any issue with sound or the microphone. I will keep this post updated with findings.

in the other thread they are liking the samsung one more, i wonder why? is it that much thinner or maybe they hate the lip?
hmmm $99 for 3300mah (gives about 60% juice?) a little too exy for me, but the case does make it very convenient, way better than carrying around a slim powerbank.

Yea, that makes sense, the reason i picked this one is because the case has wireless charging so i dont have to plug anything in. Whereas the samsung one wirelessly charges the phone, but you do have to plug it in. They both seem legit though.

Its for sure one of those things that you dont need, but it is super nice to have.
I got both. I wanted to try em and keep the one I like best. After a week with each, I have decided to keep the Sammy. I am a heavy user and I need juice everyday. I could fast charge at work or in the car for 30 mins. But having a battery case is so much easier and I kind of like the thicker and heavier grip with it on.
Both of them charge at about same speed, mophie slightly quicker. The mophie gives it about an extra 10% more. The obvious difference is the wireless charging of the mophie case which uses the phones micro USB port to charge. The Sammy case charges up by plugging the charger into its micro USB port and charges the device wireless. That is a personal preference. I think the Sammy fits and feels a ton better. That was the difference for me. I can pop the phone in and out effortlessly from the Sammy case as well.

samsung feels better but it charges so slow that its almost laughable, and the problem with the samsung seems if you use it while its charging you only get about 25-30% battery
Does either case Cover the micro usb port on phone? I use OTG alot and don't want to have to take the case off.

Its a little of both. The case is smooth to the touch, but there is definitly a battery in there. So its pretty hard. But soft enough that your phone wont get scrathed by the case itself

Note 5 battery case that's slim and offers full protection?

Like the title says. Also wondering if you have to turn the case off until you need it or can you leave it on charging continuously like a power bank? Honestly kind of expected more as looking at Amazon reviews most of them seem to suck and the top powerbear one literally doubles the phones weight.
I've this one, and for me is the best https://www.amazon.com/Incipio-Ligh...5602&sr=1-2&keywords=note+5+case+incipio+slim

I've been using the Mophie case, pretty durable. Get a protective screen and you're good to go. I've been looking for something similar that's slim too with full protection but that's nill. This was my best bet.
Edit: Reading above, there's a switch on the back that you can toggle on or off so technically yes it can sit as a power bank and charge it continuously. There's also s meter that you can check for how much charge left it has. Convenient.
I'm using this one, it seems durable, but i haven't dropped the phone so i can't say for sure.
It charges well and it has sime led lights to inform the remaining percentage.
To be honest I don't really use it for protection, rather as a powerbank (without the hassle of the wire etc) and im rather sceptical about what may happen if it falls from a big height, but I guess that applies ti every power case.
It also has a kickstand on the back which may prove handy for some.
