Teclast X98 Air III - not booting after flashing, black screen - Teclast X98 Air 3G

Hello,
I've recently bout this tablet Air III and I've immediately put the new bios on to make it dual boot with windows. All went fine and I had Android + Windows on it. Few days ago I did a factory reset on Android and for some reason it didnt work properly - it got stuck on "Erasing" with a little droid logo (I even left it once overnight, thinking that it might be taking a lot of time to finish). To fix that, I've decided to reflash just Android, using Mirek's tools. It all went well (at least according to the tools), but now when I boot the tablet, Teclast logo is displayed for about 5 seconds and then a black screen and nothing happens. Again, I've tried waiting for hours on that black screen, nothing happens.
Does anyone have any idea what seems to be the problem?

You might try resetting the BIOS to defaults, after that entering into DnX-Mode and make a clean flash of Mireks ROM? (Which Air III - version do you have? 32 gb (M5C5) or 64 gb?)

I tried all of that already, no effect sadly. I have 32GB - M5C5

Sounds like you've flashed the wrong BIOS.
You should be able to use the DNX flash tool to flash a new BIOS. If not then you'll have to reprogram/replace the BIOS chip on your device.

Have you got any advice on how to flash a new bios and what tools to use? All the guides I could find required being able to boot into Android first.

You should find solutions on how to flash the BIOS from fastboot- as well as from DnX-Mode.

Problem after installing cyanogenmod recovery image

Hello,
I managed to install the CyanogenMOD recovery image through flashrecc 090909.
I wiped all the data and following another tutorial I installed directly cyanogenMOD ROM 1.4.xx. I restarted the phone and it won't boot, the Orange logo remained there for 40 minutes, after which I restarted it.
I wiped all the data again.
I installed update.zip, the phone restarted and the recovery console popped automatically with the message Formatting CACHE, and it's doing that for an hour and counting.
What should I do?
Did I bricked it? or is it a soft brick, if so how can I make boot? ANY ROM, not specially the cyanogenmod.
Hope I didn't bought me a 250Euros paperweight :|
Thanks, ARthur.
A link to the the tutorials you followed could help me in seeing where you went wrong. From reading it, the part that confuses me, is the Orange Logo. Of which are you speaking of?
what was the update.zip you installed, it sounds like the htc image or the radio or maybe an spl, after you can use the recovery console (basically like 30 seconds of formatting cache on the screen) you can flash the rom.
The Orange Logo is actually the main Android software's image. When you turn it on, depeneding from where you bought it, the operator logo/company usualy is onscreen.
(Before you see the android logo)
BUT I think I was to in a hurry, I have the Dev software now workingm I fell asleep and now it works, just have to try the same with CyanogenMOD.
update.zip is the HArdSpl / older HBOOT

BOM Selection switch (SW1B1) has been changed problem! Please help

Dear All
After flashed wrong BIOS file My Teclast X98 Air III could not be booted into DNX mode.
When I press Volume +- and Power, a message "BOM Selection switch (SW1B1) has been changed but can not take action, system will reset in 3 seconds...''
Then, it goes to Aptio Setup Utility with boot option. Unfortunately, I tried many options with this utility without success. It seems to me that the utility did not work since my "changes" have not been applied.
Now, the desktop does not recognize the tab when it connected. So, there will be no more flashing.
Please help me to solve this issue.
Thank you for your reading.
i have same problem. Did you have solution?

Any progress from the OP?
Hello i have the same problem anyone find a solution for this problem ?

Whatever I flash I end up in a bootloop with Chinese Teclast Logo

I have already tried almost all BIOS versions even with Flash programmer attached to the tablet, but I end up in a bootloop every time. When accessing the BIOS Setup it seems to be right, but I can't save any configuration, nor do I see the attached flashdrive.
Originally it used to be an Android only Air iii without 3g (C5Jx), after installing Mireks Rom it was running ok first, then I started tinkering around with Dual Boot a couple of weeks ago.
What am I doing wrong? I can't even get back to the ANDROID only state, since it won't boot. If I install with Mireks Installer, it ends up the same.
You should flash the original BIOS first, it will show that the tablet working fine yet or not.
The only dual BIOS I can flash (with or without EEPROM Flasher) is version 1.00
As soon as I try another higher version it either stays in a bootloop or seems to be hardbricked without any functionality.
Is it a common issue with M5C5 (32GB)?

Teclast x98 air 3g dual boot won't boot anymore

hi
yesterday, i decide to reinstall everything on my tablet.
So i downloaded mirek v.7.
I installed mirek with repartionning.
i also install bios 2.05.
i switched off the tablet as written in the flash tool.
I reboot, enter the bios and decide to install w10. So i boot on the usb flash drive.
it boots, and bam " your pc encounter a pb, need to restart : more info : acpi bios".
But....
it never reboots. it is off. No way to turn it on again. I let the tablet for the night. I try to push the power button for 4 sec, 10sec, but nothing. I tried to charge the tablet, but nothing.......
So....do you think the tablet is "bricked" ?
i'm not capable of opening it and flash with eeprom or something....
So, good to the trash ???
what's wrooong ????
:crying::crying:

Teclast X98 Air 3G (C8J6) Dual Boot Issue

EDIT: Problem is solved. Issue was an old BIOS version. After flashing to 2.02 it does work. Don't know why dual boot was working before though.
Hey guys,
I've got a Teclast X98 Air 3G for repair here which is giving me a hard time. First of all: I flashed tons of those devices already, so I know what I am doing.
So here is the issue:
I am unable to restore dual boot on this C8J6 model, which has been lost after trying to re-install Windows. Usually it is very easy to do this: Restore the Android, afterwards boot the tablet from a WINPE stick along another NTFS stick containing the factory restore image for Windows. Well, exactly this is what does not work. I can flash Android and Android does boot. However, Android is the only thing that boots on this tablet. The dual boot menu does not appear anymore. If in Android I select "boot to Windows" it just reboots to Android. If I boot up with Vol+, it still does only boot to Android. If I select my WINPE stick in the BIOS (boot override), the screen goes black for a short time and then I am back inside the BIOS menu. This also happens with a pure Windows 10 stick that boots flawlessly on any other device.
I tried the following things to fix this but without results:
- Flash Mirek V7 using the entire 64GB storage and then restore the original partition layout
- Flash the official Android 5.0 image
- Flash the originale Android 4.4.4 image the tablet shipped with
None of these procedures brought back the ability to boot any other OS than Android.
Now my last hope is that someone of you guys has an idea on how to get rid of this issue.
Cheers,
Chris
