hey guys,
i was wondering what was the easiest way to root and install clockworkmod recovery on my phone?
i have realized that you have probably seen this question many times before and i apologize for that. i have tried searching for this and although i have found many results i find myself confused about which one is best and easiest to do.
all i am asking is if anyone could possibly post a link to and easy to follow guide to accomplish this
sorry and thanks in advance
The easiest is to flash the root package ( should end in .tar) into the PDA section via Odin with your phone in Download Mode

my build number is FROYO.DTJP5
if someone would kindly write down the file name of what i need that would be greatly appreciated
U should get a better firmware like jw4...
And cf root for it is easily available...
if my post helped, don't mind hitting thanks ;-)

Sounds like you need to reinstall the Samsung drivers..... but if it is recognized with the new room then do what the guy above said

okay so it recognizes my phone, and im using jw4 because there is no jw6, well as far as i can find but after pressing start it fails
i have no idea why
i dont know if this is related or not but when i extract the file i got from the cf-root thread it is not one that i can use in odin so i use the file i downloaded and it is still a tar file
Just put the.tar in pda and flash

I think it depends on what version you have. I have the sprint version (LS995) and was able to root using IOroot25 on kitkat.

So here you go

Has anybody tried this on a device that is not the 900F? Wondering if this is crossflashable between some Snapdragon variants.
This is only boot image and not the complete kernel. Modules are missing and could lead to soft-brick.

Hmm, strange. It worked on my device. Only with the boot image.
So I got the SM-910t3 fro T-mobile. I followed TEKHD's guide on how to root it and all. Are the roms for the N910T compatible with the N910T3? I had tried to flash TEKXodus N4 5.1.1 URv1 (USA-N910T /T3) on my n910t3 but it resulted in a fail in TWRP, and did not allow me to restore my back ups . I ended up having to use Samsung kies 3 to get my phone working again. I was wondering if anybody else with a n910t3 had been able to install a different rom. Any help would be cool.
This is also my first post on this amazing forum
Great question! I'm confused as well

That rom is 100% identical to the OP, the only difference is I changed the updater script to match the N910T3. As far as the kernel, check the op.

Did you just install the rom or did you have to install any other files to get this working on N910T3? Thanks.

Hi, I flashed the oreo stock with odin and now i want to root with magisk without installing twrp recovery, to keep stock recovery and stay official. Anyhow?
As far as i know you can do it by patching the boot.img of the stock rom on magisk and then with 7zip you can make a .tar file wich you can flash through Odin on AP. But i'm not sure, because i didn't do it, but it can be an option, I hope it has been helpful for you.
