Hi everyone,as you can see in the title i have a simple question for all of you .
Wich software is the most stable for Galaxy S i9000 ( No lag,no random restarts when you're running a app and stuff like this )
If someone know and its simple to put the software its free to give me a tutorial how to do this . My curent version of android is 2.3.6 Baseband Version i9000XXJVT, Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-i9000XWJVZ-CL762604,Build Number GINGERBREAD.XWJVZ.
IM noob on rooting flashing so...help me if u can
I'd suggest Darkyrom.com, it's a VERY noob friendly rom, stable, fast, great battery life and it has it's own forum so you'll definitely get support for problems. and flashing their roms is a simple one step process (for the base roms) or a few steps for a full rom (read on their forum for the differences) and as long as you follow their step by step instructions (which they provide) you needn't do any preparation work like be pre-rooted, their rom roots your phone and does everything for you.
Rooting is necessary for pretty much all android customization if you were wondering
If you want to upgrade from a better rom after that, you're all set to go what with having flashed their rom, but they have great roms so you may not even want to.
If you want to upgrade to a better rom, one which is faster, or has better battery life or can do something else better, then you'll have to look through threads here on XDA and figure out which is best for you yourself. But reading details on the rom and other people's experiences can really help. Just take other people's experiences with a pinch of salt, unless a problem is being experienced by almost EVERYONE it's usually a one off... other people's problems may not be yours
Agree on darky if you wanna get GB ROM
I was able to root my phone. Now my question is that I would like to run a lag free system. Would changing the Rom fix that? Will I lose any features on my phone? I want a rom that is Simple ( google edition phone/ no bloatware) My current system is 4.2.1, would I need to stay on 4.2.1 to keep my features or that doesnt matter. I am a total noob and the more explanation, the better ( & more appreciated).

Custom ROMs also have their pros and cons, but are generaly faster and smoother than stock. They add new features, that's why we love them, but there are some sacrifices. If u decide to go custom, go to Original Android Development subforum here, browse around, and make your pick... (I personaly recomend CM 10.2 from NovaFusion if you want a stable, yet smooth custom ROM that won't let you down). Ofcourse, when flashing them, and recovery of your chosing, you should know what you're doing, at least on paper, so come prepared. All the info is already here, just search it.
Staying on stock has some advantages too. It's almost risk free, and like pang34 said, u can do lots of things on stock (now that you are rooted) too that will improve performance and customize your phone. There are also some Stock Based ROMs here (haven't tried them, but also a good option), you should check them out.
The decision is all yours. You chose, that's the cool thing about Android.:highfive:

4.2.1?? What s3 mini verson do you have?
If is GT-I8190 the you can costomize like custom recovery and rom.
You'll not lose any feature, you can boost the phone smoothnes and response to comands by making a good combination of kernel-cutom rom, you can boost battery life and performance as well.
You'll lose nothing just the warranty, nothing more.

I think the warranty has expired anyways. Do you have a ROM that you suggest? I wanted to try CM Roms.
Thanks to all those who replied. Really appreciate you helping out a noob.
If you ask me, stock based roms are the best ones

Flashing the rom doesnt seem to work. I tried to do it through RomManager and followed these instructions and all I would go back is to the factory reset of the S3 mini.

Hi, I would personally install twrp from novafusion. http://novafusion.pl/downloads#
Install using Odin. I use twrp for any ROMs I install, it has never let me down.
After you have twrp installed, click on wipe>advanced wipe and check
System
Data
Cach
Dalvik
Then install what ever ROM you have downloaded.
Sent from my GT-I8190N
best way is always via odin but with latest twrp by novafusion it is very easy to install. i recommand to do a clean install every month or after complexer updates.
Hi, I'm new to the Nexus world. I have been reading and watching videos on YouTube about how to improve the Nexus 6 SOT. I know it depends on applications, use, etc. I Unlocked the boot loader and flashed elemental kernel and shamu Android M rom. I underclocked and downloaded greenify but still I believe 3.5 hours for casual web browsing and most of the time WhatsApp. I was thinking flashing Chroma ROM and HellsCore Kernel. But I don't know how to do so. Do I need to wipe everything and then flash? That's all? I wanna be sure that I don't brick the device. In the other hand what's your opinion, are HellsCore the best perf/batt kernel?
Thank you for your time and knowledge

Hello, welcome to the nexus world! lol. I'm fairly new, got my nexus 6 in January, but I catch on to things pretty fast.
Now I personally don't like underclocking, but I do use greenify, and it works well. Now as for custom roms, I have used Chroma rom before and I LOVED the battery life on it, but I had to switch to a different rom because xposed doesn't fully work on Chroma. I also test out Xtra Smooth rom, I recommend giving it a shot, battery life is amazing. but as for kernels i usually flash elementalX or lean kernel, so that's for someone else to answer.
In regards to flashing, yes, you wipe everything (make sure to back up:good and then drag the rom to the phone and flash, when downloading and flashing from the phone I don' t erase the internal storage, so that way I still keep the rom i wanna flash.
As for bricking a device, as much as I have flashed things on to my nexus, I haven't bricked my device. I really don't think that will be an issue.
But anyways, welcome to nexus and have fun, be safe, and don't forget to backup!:good:

Thank you for clearing my doubts Im looking foward to install Chroma ROM to test it. If I want to keep the kernel I'm using do I only flash the rom or do I have to re flash everything again? Just to be sure.

no, you would have to flash the rom you want to use, then reflash the kernel again.
Is it just me or is there a real lack of working custom roms for Marshmallow N920P Note 5s? I don't even really want a custom mod... but been trying for days to get xposed going on my note and it doesn't want to run on the rooted stock rom (CF Auto Root). I have tried several different roms and can't get anything going. I also can't find anything that SPECIFICALLY states compatibility with N920P, just a couple roms where developers say it "should" run. But alas, been trying for 3 days now and still cant get a working custom rom or any help just to get xposed running...
Any suggestions?

Did you look in the Sprint Note 5 forums? Always look for carrier specific forums and not General. There are a couple in there including Moar which is a very customized ROM. Not a lot of Sprint Note 5 ROM options but Moar is very feature packed. You can add Xposed to it yourself. There's a QA forum to post questions so if you any try to post them there and not in the ROM develeopment thread.
I used this for a standard deodex rom and used the official build for xposed mm on x64 xposed modules works great on mine
edit: you may want to upgrade OTA before you root to get a good stock because I had to look forever to get a good stock rom after I softbricked mine

@henderjr
Have you run this rom with xposed? Wouldn't normally worry but it actually lists xposed in the known issues and states "run at your own risk"...
@Kade Farbo
That stock rom would be fine, but it is for PC3. WIll it work on mine? (N920PVPU2BPD2)
Edit: The rom installed successfully, but it looks like xposed isn't wanting to boot. Same thing happened on the stock rom, perpetually stuck on the sprint LTE Plus screen.
Update:
After trying several combinations of roms/xposed I finally got them working.
I tried the standard deodex rom, which installed correctly. Then tried to flash xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip, installed successfully but wouldn't boot. Same happened with using cf root on stock rom.
I tried installing venom note, install completed successfully but also wouldn't boot.
Finally I installed MOAR, installed without a hitch. After reading the discussion there I followed the recommendation of a poster that stated he was using xposed-v85.1-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam.zip. Framework installed and finally booted! Yay! So it looks like this setup is definitely the way to go!

Yeah Xposed with MOAR works fine. The developer just doesn't want people to post about bugs or issues if they have xposed running.
Does anyone ever read OPs? It says right in the Xposed OP that Xposed bootloops stock/stock based Samsung ROMs.

Sorry I meant to reply last night Wanam's unofficial MM xposed framework should be fine. Start with deodex rom and follow the instructions. I recommend this over any custom ROM for most stability and closest to vanilla experience while being able to use all root/xposed features

I may have liked the "more original" rom better, but MOAR seems to be just find and running smoothly. Wanam may have worked on that rom for me, but I didn't find it until flashing MOAR. Honestly after struggling so much to just get anything going, I dont feel like going back through everything just to get xposed on the deodex rom. I'll just stick with MOAR for now lol
Thanks for the help everyone.
Im running Wanam Xposed on the stock odexed ROM.
You can deodex any Odexed ROM with Root Explorer. Just Search .odex in Root Explorer, wait till it finishes, and delete all the files it lists. Bam. Deodexed stock rom, no flashing ROM required.
MOAR is awesome.
Te best Custom rom os laslamy if you looking good battery and mods.

Hi i am just wondering if anyone here can give me there opinion on best custom rom? I basically want it to be as fast as possible with the longest battery life possible. I am super use to android 6.01 and dont mind having same user interface like standard s5. I still would like NFC and GPS to work along with all google apps. I have the SM-G900I model. Not sure if if my computer is a problem but i have a super old laptop from 2007. It has a 1.7ghz celeron cpu and i'm running windows 7 on it.
The best rom is rom based on stock rom like xtrestolite. Good batterie very smooth its the best of the best for me Now im testing NEMESIS_REBORN V 5.6. Its okii
Debloated, Xposed and rooted Stock!

Best choice for the S5 is a stock based MM ROM, any debloated version with root and Boeffla kernel in my opinion. So you make the best experience and all things work exactly as they should - best camera and audio functions, fast and smooth working and a long battery life. I've tested so much ROMs on it and I always came back to 6.0.1. It's of little use to me to have the latest version of Android when I constantly have to deal with errors and notice that this phone is simply overloaded with it.

Hi, I plan to install the rom xtrestolite that you mention, but I have a doubt, the g900fd model does not appear, will there be any problem in installing the g900f model?, I would greatly appreciate your answer.
I am currently using the official stock rom 6.0.1, but I don't like the application overload that the phone brings

The latest xtestrolite ROM was only for the G900H (Exynos). If you are seaching for a useless and debloated stock ROM for the G900F, try to flash the Alexandr ROM v5.9, see here. Flash the Boeffla kernel 2.5, choose CPU governor "smartmax". This kernel and its configuration tool you found in the latest posts in the very long thread about this ROM, posted by me.
