Marshmallow update? - T-Mobile HTC One (M9)

I'm seeing lots updates going around for Europe and Canada but nothing for the U.S. on any carriers unless you're on GPE. Anyone know when we're supposed to get marshmallow?

I don't think any of the U.S. M9 received Marshmallow update

I can't post links yet, but the update page says that T-Mobile and htc have agreed to support marshmallow but no date when they'll push it yet.

I've seen it. Although for the M8, it says it's in the testing phase. That's one step ahead when both M8 and M9 had the same status for weeks.

I've been asking Mo and Des (HTC and TMO) for the last couple weeks on Twitter and have not received an answer.
Given history of HTC updates I think we're looking at mid-Feb.
I thought Sprint had released theirs, I know there was an early leak but then I thought it came out shortly thereafter.

Isn't that something? I just picked up my M9, had an M8 and the M8 looks set to get it before? (Loving this octa core!)

Perfect. Can't wait!!!

I'll do some digging to confirm, but will I need to un-root my phone for this OTA to be successful? Even rooted, my M9 doesn't like 64GB+ micro cards; works fine with a 32GB though. Looking forward to that issue going away with Marshmallow.

What brand/model? Both my 32GB and 64GB are Sandisk Ultra's.
Anyone know if I will need to un-root to get the Marshmallow OTA update?

Might is the same except instead of the "10" in a circle, mine has a "1" inside of what looks like a letter "U" but in looking it up, it's a Class 10 just like yours. Only difference is that one marking. mine looks like this

Not sure what the problem could be. I know I make sure I format them in exFat when I get them so they can support large files.

I'm excited and I'm going to prepare my phone tonight for this. RUU flash back to stock and update to 6.0. I'm hoping with marshmallow I won't have to root but at least there is the possibility of systemless root.

Ota is live!

The update is live
This is great

Just got the first part of two for the MM update. Clocked in at 99 MB.

Warning: not sure if this will happen to everyone, but my phone was wiped in the process. Not a big deal for me since I was going to flash another ROM anyway, but still should definitely be noted.
EDIT: Scratch that. I just thought that because it only attempted to load 73 apps upon startup after the 2nd update and not my full 220.

Hmmm....
I did an RUU to 2.11.531.19 and the only thing I did was add my google account. This doesn't seem right...
EDIT:
Ok for those that may have made the same mistake I did and updated to 5.1 via RUU with SuperCID and S-Off. In order to take the OTA you'll have to be on stock, unrooted, and stock recovery PLUS you'll need to have the correct MID, I changed both my CID and MID but I think if you are on the correct TMOUS MID then superCID is fine. Below is what I changed.
fastboot oem writecid T-MOB010
fastboot oem writemid 0PJA12000
NOTE: T-MOB is O not a zero but 010 is zero-one-zero
On the MID they are all zeros.

How do I get Gingerbead on a S-On IS

Ok I just got my IS and I am in America. I go to update and it says I am up to date. I see you can not root the S-on yet so i am stuck in 2.2.1. Also do you get OTA updates if you are in the US for this phone.
Use my downgrade guide, but dont use the version changer and use a goldcard, should've work.

I doubt it ...
Running unlocked on T-Mobile and AT&T and I bet we'll never get an OTA update... ever.
Quick Guide with S-on:
1, Download one of the official RUU rom (name comes with "signed")
2, Make a Goldcard - will take you 5-20 minutes computer work.
3, Run the RUU rom .exe, keep click next->next->next->..........

Has anybody actually managed to do this with a Bell IS, though? Mine is unlocked on AT&T, and I have yet to try it, because I haven't found anybody that's done it successfully. Most posts that I've seen say they get an error, that the goldcard method won't work on a Bell IS for some reason.

hi all,
i know that we can use gold card to update to the UK gingerbread rom from our s-on IS irregardless of the IS region (i.e. asia, hk, etc).
But can we use the gold card to downgrade back to 2.2 official firmware (e.g. 1.38.707.1)?
We are not dependant on T-Mobile USA for the updates, they have no way of tracking. Once HTC releases 2.3 we can download direct over data or WiFi

That's exactly right. The phone calls home to check for an update and uses whatever data network available to do so.
It is in no way, shape or form carrier tied.

I tend to believe you, but I had emailed HTC a few weeks ago asking about this exact topic. Here's their response:
With OTA software upgrades, it's a bit iffy. In some circumstances, update sofware is provided to local stores, who should be able to update the phone for you (policies on this differ from carrier to carrier, where some may be okay with updating an unlocked phone, and others won't).
Sometimes, a downloadable version can be found on our website for the phone in question:
http://www.htc.com/ca/support/incredibles-bell/downloads/
Each device has a specific address that it checks for its updates. Theoretically, the unlocking process shouldn't change that. Your device should still continue to recieve updates, however, it really depends on Bell's update policy when it comes to phones no longer on their network.

[Q] Orange Htc One

Hello everybody. My phone is bought with contract on Orange in UK, software is 1.28.61.7, but the phone isn't carrier locked. May it be the reason why I don't get update to 1.29... with new camera update and so on? Maybe the phone may be different form international version in this way? Is there any way of making my phone to international eupopean version (if it isn;t now)? After everything i want to have my phone not-rooted, and get updates from htc ota with everybody else... Don't know, if i asked correctly and everybody understand me, but thanks in advanced anyway.
Umh, also in germany O2 One aren't branded, but the update is released from O2, in fact, O2 phone can't see and don't have 1.29.401.12 version...
They have 1.29.209.xx version, i don't remeber which with precision.
However, i resolved this problem with root and flashing a custom rom
EE seems to be the slowest of all the UK carriers at pushing out updates, you'll probably be waiting for another good few weeks yet. Might want to try this rom since apparently you can keep OTA updates with it:

Unlocked AT&t HTC one running on Tmobile network. (US)
current android version is v4.1.2
checking for updates returns the following message: Your phone is up to date, there are no updates available for your phone. Update AT&t software also does not offer to update anything.
Can someone please advise me what needs to be done to upgrade my phone to a newer version, like 4.3?

what is the output of ''fastboot getvar all'' ?
If you are running ATT software with a T-Mobile SIM, I believe you need to get a ATT SIM to update. You do know that you can get all the benefits of T-Mobile service by converting the ATT to a T-Mobile right? I did it the other day and got the free tethering, and the Wi-Fi calling feature, it was really easy to do too. I think the only thing missing from the One is the AWS band, but maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in. You can also convert to a Dev Edition and get updates straight from HTC.

that'd be awesome. how do I convert it to t-mobile? I do have an ATT SIM sitting here but it doesn't have any airtime on it. I've tried popping it in before and doing the update but it still wouldn't show an update.

Needs to be active, to convert to a T-Mobile device, you will need S-Off, change CID to T-MOB010, find the zip file that is posted on the T-Mob section, it is like 0.98gb, flash that zip file it includes the T-Mob recovery and everything you need), then it will find the OTA updates. There is a rumor that when 4.4 is released for T-Mob that they have disabled the free Wi-Fi tethering, so if that is important stick with the 4.3 until that is confirmed or if it's not true. But anyhow, that's how easy it was for me. Of course I am not scared of this device, I have soft bricked it so many times it's silly, and it's always been easy to bring back, knock on wood! And oh ya, if you haven't updated to 4.3 yet, and don't have S-Off, do it now, you will thank yourself later!

HTC one stuck on 4.2.2

Hey everyone,
So after dealing with Verizon tech support as well as htc's team, i'm turning to xda. I have found one other dead thread with no answers about my situation. Which htc want's me to send my phone to them for 10 days, or i can get a "like new" replacement from verizon, neither of those really work for me.
I bought my HTC one in November from Best Buy. The day i got it, i was able to update immediately to 4.2.2. Since then, 4.3 has rolled out, and 4.4 started rolling yesterday.
When i check for updates, I click Check New, it says checking, then the dialog box goes away. It doesn't say, "your device is up to date" or
"here is the latest software" It just disappears. I've even factory reset and still nothing.
Things you should know:
Completely stock, unrooted, no software modifications at all.
Please help!
thanks
Nick

unrooted you mean you removed root or you never rooted it?
Why don't you want to get a replacement one?
Never rooted. And I don't want a certified like new replacement. My phone is pretty much brand new. Perfect condition. Verizon's certified like new have been known to be less than stellar

yes i'm prepared to do that. But that's just the issue, in the thread you linked me, verizon has blocked the method of getting s-off. i haven't found anything else successful. I'm very experienced in rooting motorola phones, just have never tried an htc, and here is incredibly different.

New N6 owner with a quick question

Mine just came in today (64 GB Cloud White). Very impressed so far. I'm going to unlock, root, ROM. I'm not a noon in this area - been doing it since the OG Droid days. Not going to do it with a toolkit.
Anyway, it came with 5.0 (build number LNX97M) but I have a notification for a system update. Shows it's the update for 5.0.1, but I imagine the 5.1 update will follow shortly. Can these updates be unlocked/rooted? I assume so, but I like to be certain first. Thanks in advance for your help.
