Hi, I've got the Moto G 2014 (xt1068) and this morning when I woke up, I disconnected the phone (it had been charging all night as usual) and when I started using it, it suddenly went into Bootloop. I'm running the latest CM 12.1 nightly and never had a problem. The problem is that I cannot access the Fastboot or Recovery mode... So I really don't know what to do. I hope anybody can help me.
Press Power button continues when Phone is off then Press Volume Down continues And Leave Power Button , You will enter in the Fastboot Mode :good:

It doesn't let me, it has no battery left so I connected it, and now it shows a white screen showing that the battery percentage is 0. Then it goes black and then the same screen appears. I've tried the combination you said and nothing happened.

I've tried that, but it was still showing the 0% of battery screen and when I unplug the phone, I can't do nothing. I press the Power button and then the Volume Down one and nothing happens...

If you don't have warranty anymore, You can try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZhAabwi24M
It's not really safe, but I would try it in your situation.

Ohh sorry If it boots then don't try it, because it's useless in your case. But if you can turn in ot and it starts to boot, there is no way you can't get into fastboot. Are u sure you're doing it right?

You have to press both buttons at the same time for couple of seconds and then release it.

So I have actually managed to get into the Fastboot mode, but only for a few seconds, because it says that my battery is low and it starts the Bootloop again. But the thing is that I have been charging the phone all day today and all night yesterday... So I don't really know what is happening.

Then again I would suggest you to do that method described in that video. Actually it was helpful for lot of people with similar issues. And I think it will help u too.
At least to see if it will boot up plugged in without battery.

So I've done the method that is shown in the video, and it booted, but it showed the same screen showing that there is no battery left, with the difference that there was no bootloop until I connected the battery again.

I had this same problem, the main problem is when the phone goes into bootloop the adapter isn't able to send power to the phone because it's constantly turning off and on. Plug your phone to your laptop or pc. Let it charge for an hour or so. The battery percentage will increase and it'll boot.

yeah i get that it is becoz of lack of juice..but i tried with different chargers...also with 1A charger...even tried connecting to pc and left it for hours..no use ...maybe hardware issue? Since there are no problems with soak mm build

I know it's a little bit extreme, but in your case if nothing helps I would remove the battery and charge it outside of the phone with a charger (by connecting it to charger somehow with cables).
Or just replace it.

But i have a similar problem to the stated one. After flashing the new leaked 4.3 Rom from DoomLord my phone ran just fine for nearly a week. Yesterday i inserted a new sd card and wanted to format it in recovery. But then after formating sdcard1 my phone totally freezed. However i rebooted it from recovery. No led when i plug in. I tried every combination of buttons presses (also volume up + power button which does normaly the trick). I even opened the phone and unplugged battery for 2-3 min, still nothing. Do you guys have any idea what i else can do, or is my phone simply broken?

charage the phone for 24 hrs or overnight and try flashing the stock rom via flashtool. if it did not work with vol down button+power try this method 2
try to do a hard reset; (while NOT connected via usb or something) hold power+vol up, it will vibrate 1 time, and then 3 times quick. After that try to connect the usb (NOT while pressing any buttons) and press vol down+power
That should connect it into flashmode.

Ok, I disassembled the phone again. I removed battery and measured voltage seems to be fine. Besides battery life was OK when it worked (OK compared to my SXplay ). Additionally i tried the battery trick from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449242. However the bahavior on charger is still the same 5min red LED 5min no LED at all. Excluding it is a driver problem I ran flashtool on my linux machine and tested both the windows and linux flash tool with my xperia Play which is correctly detected in flash mode.
Thanks guys for your hints upon now but I would be happy to get additonal ones. I'm not afraid of disassembling and getting my hands dirty.
I hope I will get this great phone running again since I've really started to love it :-/.
Same situation with CM 10.2
Hi there I'm in the same situation with my xperia V.
Bootlocker unlock and flashed 10.2.0 (latest stable rel) and gapp. No issue everything was working but huge battery drain due to Media Scanner, so I've reboot in recovery wipe the cache and format the external sd then reboot all from the recovery menu.....then the phone is dead.
now in change since more that 30 hours and get red light for some minutes that nothing at all....nothing pushing power, nothing pushing volume nothing at all.....if i connect without battery to the power red light blinks.
how is that possible???? at least recovery node should work...is that an HW problem? but how can i have created an HW problem with a wipe a format and a reboot????
Please help...
Thanks in advance.

Ok i attached a picture. The measured voltage is 3.07 V between kathode and anode marked in red (of course I measured it when the battery was disconnected. Moreover you see the soldered connection to the back of the battery marked in green. I've already tried what I red in another post in this forum, where the guys there suggest to unplugg the battery and try to connect the phone in flash mode. This results in a blinking red LED :-/. No idea what else I can do

Charge the battery somewhere or buy new battery. 3.07V is not enough.

peetr_ is right, using GPS Essentials to measure my battery voltage at 12% charge (not the most accurate way I know) it's measuring at 3.611V

hello guys I have a solution to this problem.and I guess you guys are lucky cause I experienced this problem also.you don't need to panic cause this will help.all you need to do is to get a new battery either online or in your domestic regions.if you wish to get it online go to aliexpress.com And it will be shipped to you no matter where you are on this earth.the reason is because the xperia t has been drained to the core and so it can't come on in other to flash in a kernel or image. When you've bought the battery you can actually fix it by yourself cause I'll Show you how.when you've fixed it then you flash in 4.3jb stock room in it and then your phone comes back alive like mine.IV actually used the phone for a month before that problem occurred but now say no more to that cause this thread will work 100%

Hi guys,
So as the title states, I have an issue with my HTC One having frozen - before anything else, I understand that this is a developers forum, and although I have am still using the stock software and have not rooted my device, I'm hoping that some of you will be able to help me with this!
Yesterday at about 7pm, I opened the Gmail app, which froze, and tried to resolve this by opening the task manager to close the app, which subsequently froze, and then I tried pressing the power button twice to refresh the display - and this is how I am stuck on the black screen. In addition to this, no lights flash when holding the power button, and the device won't take a charge (the LED doesn't light up)
I quickly searched the net to find methods of trying to unfreeze the device - namely doing a soft reset for 30 seconds, a soft reset under a bright light (to overwhelm the sensor) for 30 seconds, holding the power button for 20 seconds, unplugged and plugged into the mains. It was also recommended to me to leave the phone on mains for 10 minutes, and then press the power, volume up and volume down buttons for 2 minutes - but this had no effect.
I have had the device for about 6 months, and this is the first time I've had any problem at all with it.
My options are to send it in for repair, or to leave it for a few days to drain any remaining charge, and then attempt to turn it back on.
I was hoping that some of you might be able to recommend any methods that I have not yet tried, or might be able to estimate roughly how long it will take for the device to drain?
I'm sorry if this post is mainly a repeat of what has been posted before, but in all of the cases that I found, people were still able to access the soft reset menus (of which I am unable)
Thank you for any help you can offer!
I have the same problem, but I was on a custo ROM (CM11).
Nothing that I have tried works, and I also hope the someone can tell us how to solve this...

I suppose that the main problem is that the warranty is now void on yours? I can't imagine it being a cheap repair :/

Since 3 days, so I'm still hoping that when the battery drains completely, it will turn off and then boot normally.
If it is a hardware problem, I hope that it will be hard enough to repair for the technical service to give me a new unit

Yeah, I tried doing that for 2 minutes (as advised by HTC Support) yesterday and Thursday - although I've not done anything with the phone today, as I'm hoping leaving it to discharge will have an effect!
Same here. 15seconds, 2 minutes, one hour... there's no hard reboot.
Also plugging ad unplugging, taking out the SIM card... anything happens.
My battery was nerly full so maybe it will take one week to discharge

Whilst I'm unsure as the whether the device will have actually charged while frozen, if it has charged, it will probably take a long time to discharge.
Thankfully, mine was only on about 25% when it froze - so here's hoping I'll have a result by Monday...

That's the problem I'm having - I don't actually know if the device is on or off! It makes sense that if it's not responding in anyway, then the device is still on and frozen, or it could be the implication of a hardware fault, maybe blown motherboard or something.
Yes, and for me that would be an absolut mess, cause I had very important data stored on the phone...
And if you send the phone to repair they always make a factory reset and delete everything in your phone.
I had this issue on my One X and my fix was leaving it on the charger for about 6 hours and unplugging it and holding the power button for a full two minutes.

Thanks, but first I will try to leave the battery fully discharge. If I charge the phone and it doesn't work, then I will have to wait one week for it to drain completely again.
Hold it under a very bright light or point a flas hled to the sensor and hold power and volume down for a couple seconds
I have encountered a strange phenomenon on my HTC One. I woke up and forgot to charge my phone the previous night, so I went to charge it and after about ten minutes it kept turning on and off with the HTC "quietly brilliant" screen over and over again. There is no LED light to signify a charge, and I am able to get to the bootloader screen (I hope that is what it is called) by pressing the volume down but the phone restarts and won't let me click anything. It will only let me scroll down or up once so I can't get to the factory reset. I've tried many battery tricks such as holding both volume buttons and the power button for two minutes and nothing happened. I plugged it into my computer and the same thing happened.
I tried posting a video but the forum won't let me since I'm a new user!
Hoping someone can help me out! I just want to get my photos back more than anything.
Thanks!

looks like the phone doesnt have enough battery to boot, shut it down and let it charge for 1-2 hours at least. If there is no led when charging, its probably because of a bad cable or charger. You can shut the phone down from bootloader: fastboot ---> power down.

The phone will automatically turn itself on after 10-20 mins and go into the boot loop. The other issue is I can't select anything from bootloader because it reboots again. I think the video would be helpful so I might go post on random parts of the forum to get 10 posts.

doesnt looks good mate. Maybe an hardware defect.
Just to be sure, you can power off the phone, if you do it reboots?
Maybe a problem with the power button or the battery...
Sounds to me like a knackered battery, unfortunately, that's one of the down sides of LiPo batteries, when they die they actually still contain 5% charge, if it drops below that, they are pretty much dead and cant really be charged properly again, ive learned this experience from flying radio controlled aircraft, basically, once the power starts dying, land it and charge it, if you push it right to the end, not only do you risk the chance of an expensive crash, but you have also just killed a £70 battery.

Oh man, that means I killed two batteries that day. I was flying my friend's quadcopter and the screen uses a lipo battery, which randomly died and now won't charge Yikes! You live and you learn. Is there anything I can do to "spark" the battery? Or more importantly any way to save my pictures? Thanks for all the replies!

I dont think you'll be able to backup anything with the phone stuck in this bootloop. Probably the battery can be replaced wihout loosing data on the phone.

I don't have a choice when the phone powers off, it randomly does it on its own when I'm in bootloader or if its just sitting there. I don't think its the power buttom because I can still press it, so its not jammed or anything. We have insurance on our phones so I can get a new one. I'm just looking to save the data at this point! Thanks for all your help so far!
Hello guys,
A while ago, I was just doing stuff I normally do with my phone. I flashed a ROM and it rebooted normally. I then flashed a MOD using TWRP recovery. As usual, every MOD that uses Aroma Installer has a "Reboot device after install" option so I chose that and then **** happened.
Out of nowhere my One suddenly shuts off (The install was done so...)
I have tried the sensor under bright light trick and my phone does vibrate once but nothing actually happens. Just a black screen and stuff.
Sometimes it does go into this screen where it shows a battery icon with thunder bolt in the middle (Yes I know that is the charging screen. But, I also believe that it acts like a progress bar and it does not do THAT.)
Then again, it dies and it doesn't have the charging LED nor would it turn on.
Help is appreciated. I know basic and complicated android stuff but I can't do any of that if my phone is dead
Edit: When I press the power button for a few seconds, it vibrates but nothing happens. The screen is still off and the charging LED is not turning on as well.
Edit: Okay, when I do get it to charge, it shows that charging screen and when I unplug it, it freezes with the charge light on. The phone is also heating up so that does mean it's charging
Regards,
TAM

No. But I was able to drain the battery and once I plug it in using the original HTC wall charger (which is the one that I always use to charge it.) it charged but the charging LED is blinking (mut have drained it self good overnight) am I making progress or did I make it worse?

It's difficult to say at this point, Personally I would just leave it charge over night. Then try and power it on with Volume Down+Power while still connected to the charger. And it definatly doesn't show up in device manager, not even as Unknown Device or QHUSB_DLOAD? I find that a little odd.
But there are signs of life so I think a good charge may do the trick.

Yes. I did plug it into my laptop's usb ports last night when it still had charge (usb 3.0 if that helps) but it was neither recognized nor visible in the device manager. I hope! I am now charging my phone as we speak. I hope it's not dead too
Okay so...I installed HTC Sync and still nothing. It was not recognized and it's still not booting
Try Windows 7 USB 2.0
just htc Drivers
Try to go to Boot loader and flash firmware
if it show battery with charging sign it means Soft Brick or battery problem
if it showed nothing like no charging light or nothing on screen then its Hard Brick

Then it is probably a soft brick or a battery problem. Because when I got home I immidiately pluged it into the wall charger for it to charge and it charged showing the charging screen with a blinking LED. One more thing, if I press the power button for a few seconds it vibrates and then nothing happens. I am planning to leave it charging over night. Is that a good idea?

can I ask what your flashed before it did this ?
also crazy question, but have you tried holding down the power button till the lights on the bottom flash approx. 12-15 times ? this resets the device, Ive had to do this after many flashes of various things.

I was flashing a MOD then after the installation finished, it asked if I wanted to "reboot now" so I tapped yes then the phone died and it won't start anymore. Yeah but how long should I hold the button? Just to clarify, my phone only vibrates if I hold the power button for a long time. It just keeps vibrating and vibrating

until the lights stop flashing, usually about 12 or 15 times cant quite remember exactly how many times they flash but its quite a few.
I know you said you tried the bright light trick, but you should also try this trick whilst holding down the power button.

Umm...but the buttons don't light up when I press the power button for a long time.
It does this but when I unplug it, it freezes like that with the LED on.
Edit: When I plug it in the computer it doesn't show up (I think that's good because it's a sign telling me that maybe the phone just needs a long ass charge). Now I will be leaving my phone to charge over night and hope that it will boot up in the morning. The phone becomes hot too while it's charging.
Note: I also do not have access to RECOVERY, BOOTLOADER and FASTBOOT.

if your phone is in warranty you should go to service centre
This situation is quite confusing
as not accessing bootloader is not good sign

Oh no...well I will try to search for my old laptop that has USB 2.0 ports and see of that recognizes my phone. I also do not have warranty anymore though so that is not going to help me

Okay so I plugged my phone into a laptop with USB 2.0 ports and it showed up in device manager as an "Unknown device". Not sure if it was caused by the phone showing the battery charging screen but anyway that happened. Is that a sign of life? What should I do about it?

Well as you have tried everything else, and now seeing some signs of life, you could give this a try, no harm in trying, it will either work or it wont.

What version of ubuntu do you recommend I use? I will be installing it on my flash drive so...
My phone is very weird, It's suddenly restart when I receive a phone call. Before that my phone is running out of battery twice (under 5%). After that, it keep shutting down when I do something like turn on the camera or open some apps. It's only stable when I plug the charge cable. And I saw the battery from 5% to 97% after few seconds (really fast). And now it only can turn on about 2 second and going down. I still can access adb and flash mode. I've try flash my phone many time (5.0.2, 4.4.2 even 4.2.2). And it still can stay alive for about 2 seconds. Please help me solve this case. Thank you very much!
