Hi All!
I currently own a Z3 Compact which is already "out" of its warranty periond ( ended a month ago ) and I've realized the USB Flab doesn't close properly due to the black rubber lining being damaged at the top part
With that being the cause of the problem does anyone have an Idea of the price the repair will cost me? Assuming I bring it to an Official Sony Service Center?
Thanks!
Just order a new flap off eBay and replace yourself. Costs about 8 bucks.

Hi Guys!
I had sent my Xperia to the service center some 14 months back for an LCD change. Now I wanted to change the housing with something I bought off Ebay. The background is necessary because, once I pulled out the 2 small plastic studs next to the camera lens - there were no screws inside! Anyhow I opened the case and found the bottom screw (beneath the antenna) is missing also And my last shock was the sliding apparatus has four screws, in my case another one was missing
Needless to say I am chagrined beyond words! Can some wonderful person here guide me as to how to get these screws replaced? If someone can give me the list of all screws used in the phone (I believe these screws have some codes or something), and where to buy them - I would be highly obliged.. Looking forward to your support.
PS: I still LOVE my Xperia after almost 3 years of rigorous usage.
Hello,
I've bought my Xperia SP approx. one year ago, and I've noticed recently that (a lot) of dust was present under the screen. Lately, a small hair found its way right next to the volume button. It's a bit more annoying that a few points of dust
Do you know if there's anything a can do to get rid of those ? I can't find the passage they used to get under the screen.
Do you think that these kind of issues can be taken under warranty by Sony ?
I tried to go to a few repair shop and they don't seems to be interrested in helping me. The last one I saw told me that they need to break the phone to get those out, and fully repair the screen (which costs pretty much the price of the phone).
Thanks in advance for your help.
Go to the original Sony Service Center. Usually they clean out the dust under the screen for a cheap amount of money!
I had dirt under my rear camera en front spreaker (for calling). I have removed all the screws at the back, then i was able to put out the chipset and camera. Then i used compressed air to clean it. But i think the warranty will expire.
This is the worst phone I've had (even worse than my Z1c where after 14months, I dropped <1m height cracking its front glass making it unresponsive and had to be replaced for half the cost I bought the entire phone). I bought the unit from Sony store Plazuela, Iloilo and is now 13 months used. Here are my issues with Z3c:
1) customer service: I'm based in Iloilo and they have no Xperia repair shop here so they have to have it sent to Manila for repairs and will take 1 month! They do have Xperia shop in Cebu though where I not so often travel to.more service issues below
2) microUSB, microSD cover: after 2months of use, the rubber gasket of the cover for microUSB, microSD got loose and eventually detached so I have to get the entire cover replaced in Cebu for 300PHP (I left my receipt in Iloilo). the new cover lasted for 3months until it had the same issue with the first one so now the phone has exposed microUSB and microSD slots.
3) 3.5mm jack: stopped working after 5mo. been settling for expensive bluetooth headphones since then..
4) primary camera: had the back camera glass cover slightly scratched after 5mo thus producing much worse photos than the front camera..
5) unresponsive screen: i've read several similar ongoing issues on this; mine however is only on the top screen (so far), about 5mm width which renders dropdown for notifications impossible along with other app functions. I have to tilt the phone in landscape mode to access some functions. this started after 6mo use.
6) screens detached: also read of this several similar cases. happened after 8mo, glass screens both front and back started to pop out, the adhesives for these seem to have lost their grips. sent it to Xperia Cebu where i was told that its a "physical damage" thus is not covered by warranty and will cost 900PHP. well technically this is a chemical damage where heat may have caused the adhesives lose their functions. of course there would not have been any need for repair in the first place had they used good quality materials..
I love these compact models as there seems to be no similar type, in the Phils. at least, with compact easy one-hand use, water resistant (ip67/8 for sony after fewmonths is a gimmick and will cost you greatly for believing it), good specs (processor, etc), plus the lanyard hole which for me is significantly important. still i've had enough of sony and now saving up for an S7
Is there something you needed help with?
So the screen got cracked to many flat surface. Drops I think. But it also started getting pretty hot. Anyways I'm wanting to replace it. But not gonna send it in to repair it. Seen to many horror stories there weeks without a phone.
So has anyone replaced there screen? and the only place I can even find a replacement is alibaba. I am experienced in screen replacement. So it's crazy that only on alibaba can I find one. Any help would be great.
Screen is not hard to replace at all.
Nubia charges $119 when they got them in stock. Screen only.
Alibaba sells them for about $145 with the frame. Just get one with the frame for an even easyer install.
You will need a metal pry tool. Be very careful not to hit the antenna contacts on the bottom of the frame when prying. There is light adhesive but nothing to strong. It's a tight fit. Just make sure you don't scratch your frame or break any of the contacts. If you do just relax they can be replaced or just resoldered I fixed a few broken ones from people not looking at pictures prior to jamming a pry tool in.
I contacted them to see if they wanna partner with a repair shop my buddy owns here in Georgia and make him a us based authorized warranty repair center. He's got a bunch of certs but that would help cut down on repair times for them. I know his repairs are typically out within 24 hours of it coming in.
Ya Nubia doesn't have any screens available for sale. Contacting support they want 165 dollars. Plus the screen cost. I can do the repair. It's not hard. But was just wanting to order it to repair
Yeah just order it with the frame. It's not a hard fix at all.
So you transplant everything into the new frame? Battery and motherboard?
Hi,
I bought this K20 pro last year and two months earlier its warranty period is over....
Somedays Ago i saw a small milimeter gap inbetween the back glass and frame and there i can see some adhesive also. So it is getting loose and i called service centre, they told that about 500/- inr is required to replace the adhesive... Should i replace it or leave it there as i use this phone in a really hard case...
