Hello,
so my ear speaker stopped working for some reason. I am going to change it, but i was thinking. I have Xperia Z C6603 at home, not working (water damaged, huh...), do you know, if it is the same component? So i can just switch the one from C6603 to C6903? If it is this simple, it would be just awesome. I don't feel like opening the Z1 again before i am sure i have the part (i put some really good glue there last time )...
Thanks for help
To anyone interested, it is a little bit different part, but it works like charm

hehe couldn't resist to test it hahaha, but i read here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr7q6SbX8Do
that it takes a good hour to get the normal volume back... so i think it's normal
Well, after more than a half hour my volume got back.... so people who get this same problem, i think it has to do with some protection. The speaker have to be dry to get the normal volume back

Pre ordered from Hi (Netherlands) and got it yesterday
30m to an 1hour and the loudspeaker will be fine, the same thing happened my Xperia Z . Its a protection " Thing "
I expect this question to appear on forums everywhere as more people get this phone and try it out in water.
I must be too old and remember when everyone had a waterproof radio for the shower (as they were advertised everywhere as the perfect gadget gift idea).. Which was fine until water got on the speaker and it got all muffled. Same thing with the XZ! And perhaps why we don't all have radios in the shower anymore!

Whoops Ive called up three to exchange my Xperia Z as I thought it had developed a volume fault.
I also peeled of the screen protector as the operator had asked are you sure the screen protector plastic is still attached ?
Doooh
Now the question is to fit or not fit the new supplied screen protectors that came with in the box ??
The screen looks so much sharper and clearer without it.

It just happened to me. You know what I did? Placed the Z's speaker against my notebook's fan, like 10 cm away. In less than 10 mins I received a notification and the volume was high again! So I guess blowing it with hot air does the trick..
I have just ordered myself a c6603 model (UK) and was worried because my bro said that the z has speaker probs but now I have read this thread I am not worried anymore. It does make sense to lower the speaker volume when in water because if you think about it, when the speaker is on it vibrates causing pressure variation so in theory it could suck in water through the protective mesh at full volume. But my acro s doesn't lower the volume when under water or wet and its OK, strange how the z seems to need a little extra protection from water but then again it is an expensive device I suppose.

I had the same Issue, I read on a Forum this is normal after 1-2 Hours all Water was gone from the Speaker side and the Sound returned to the normal!
Guys, does it interfere the headset sound?
I mean, when my Z gets in the water, for about 1 hour I have both the loudspeaker and the earphones working with a very low volume...
Hey guys!
Just noticed on my Xperia Z, that if I tap with my finger on the upper third (on the back) it sounds like something is loose on the inside. Is that normal? What could it be? Antenna? Sensors?
Btw, it makes it only while tapping on it....not when I shake it like crazy.

On a different forum, a user confirmed that his Xperia Z makes the same noise. While other start to post that theirs doesn't. Could be something normal than. Anyone any idea what it could be? Anyone here that could try it on his Xperia Z?
Sounds like the auto focus to me. Nothing to worry about if so.

Cheers for that! Was kinda worried because wasn't looking forward to get it replaced already
I think its something to do with the nfc connectors, my blackberry z10 does the same noise when taped and when I take back cover off it stops and you can see the connectors of the nfc. And if u tap them it makes the same noise.

Found this video which might shed a light if the noise comes from the nfc connector or the camera
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3ccFdB91siY#!
At 04:39 it shows it a bit closer the inside. Small but at least very sharp
Just tapped mine & nothing.
It's a common observation across all xperia z units that I've handled thus far so I don't see it to be of any cause of concern yea I've had other phones making rattling noises when being shaked/waved/tapped, my xperia x1 exhibited maracas-like abilities which were attributed to it's vibrator
You mean common as in some devices making that sound and other ones not? Just been to the T-mobile store and we tested it on a Xperia Z they had on display. It did the same sound when tapped on the back
Yes, it isn't a manufacturing defect. Whilst tapping on the front or back (especially towards the upper area of the phone), you'd hear a higher pitched 'tick' sound in addition to the tapping sound, but it's pretty subtle actually on all xperia zs that I've used this far..

Thanks for confirming that. Any chance that you know if it's coming from the camera or the NFC? Just being curious seen that everything works as it's supposed.
And no wonder they start to be sold out in different countries! You have them
You work for Sony or how come that you have used that many Xperia Z
I had xperia Z for few weeks, one thing I hate to say is ,low ear phone out put and external speaker output ( I know Sony fans will hit me:angel
its probably the extra coatings to protect the water resistance. But in day to day life I find it annoying.I tried ZL -its louder.
One more thing is the level of heat xperia Z is making after some use, probably due to the tight enclosure.
So I am considering to swap it with ZL,but Z is better looking phone,am a bit confused here, please help me out, thanks in advance
In my place,I would never do that.
Xperia ZL have a plastic cheap samsungy look.
But if u find the flaps bad and the speaker low,do it.
I flashed zeroinfinity's sound mod and now it's great.

The speaker volume is related to the firmware!
Particularly, I found the volume of fw .350 higher than .434!
I will try out zeroinfinity's sound mod :good:
Hello I am from Bulgaria and today I went through all the stores in my city, and there was no Xperia V anywhere, just T.
When I asked in the last shop, they told me that the Xperia V had some problems, that many customers had with their devices, and had to wait for long repair...
So my question is, are there really problems with the Xperia V? And why they don't sell it anywhere? I would've settled with the T but it had too low loudspeaker performance, and the shape and design is just crappy to me...
I bought my V here in Germany and didn't have any issues at all. The "Sleep-Of-Death" issue seems to have been solved in the latest firmware. Mine also has the good screen with great colors and contrast. Some people report that the flaps for the USB and headphone plug get loose over time. I try not to use mine too often. I've got the DK25 dock and just ordered the SBH20 bluetooth headset.
So, no complaints here. Great phone. Great size. Great performance. Great call and sound quality. LTE + waterproof + HD screen. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.
What about the loudspeaker, is it loud enough? Because on Xperia T it was very quiet...

It's loud enough for my taste. But I guess it depends on what you expect. I have no way of comparing it to the T.
for me its a good device to have. coz its water resistant, i dont have to protect it while in rain, easy to wash it when it dirty.
Hello guys,
I just have the Z for a few days, and today I received my Roxfit bumper, when I was putting it on my Z I felt something strange, the phone make some strange noise when I put some pressure in the left corner down of the back plate while holding the phone in the opposite corner in the screen.
Someone with the same noise? Is this normal?
I'm just worried because some users have reported that the back plate of their Z are getting loose.
See video: (turn the volume up)

Did you drop your phone before?
I never did and I have strange noise when I tap top left of the back ( left side of the camera )
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
No I never dropped the phone.
I just hope water won't come in the phone... And if it gets worse I will send it to Sony.
Those kind of things are very strange.

Tried it on mine and I do not have that noise. Seems like something is definitely going on with Ur xperia z.

its really hard to tell if water is going to sink in or not.
get a replacement if you can.
Thank you guys..
I tried to put the phone in the water, and no problem. but I'll keep in mind, if it get worse I will send it back to Sony, but first i need to wait my 8X to come back from the reparation..
