Can someone point me out what to do in case of bootloop or other booting problems. In other devices I am used to power of the device by removing the battery. But here it cant. I can't find a small reset button either. So how to force power of?
Hold the power button.

Just encountered this, i think it happened when i used the power button when connected to the charger, a restart via power, vol + fixed as with you. Tried to get it to fail again but couldnt, no idea what caused it.
Hey, I've faced the same problem a few months ago. I just updated my software and it started working again. I hope this helped
If I hold the power button to try to turn off my htc one all that happens is the soft keys (back & home) start to flash.
How do I turn this phone completely off?
Thanks

Cool!
I believe the power button in my HTC One is messed up and has put the phone into a bootloop. It boots halfway the restarts. But I have noticed that the capacitive buttons blink/flash before going off... does that have to do with a anything? Also is there a way to disable the power button and have an alternative to turning it on and off. Thanks in advance.

is the power button pushed in? because the capacitive keys flash when you hold it in to restart

No but maybe there was a short circuit somewhere... could that be it? Could I just replace the power button somehow

Anybody know why I'm missing recovery since I rooted? I get the little Droid guy with the exclamation point but I can't get recovery to come up.

That itself is the recovery. There's a certain button press combination to bring it up, but it varies from device to device.
Have you tried this link?

Yeah but it won't bring up recovery. Before root volume up and power "I think " but I tried it with and without power Now it don't. Could there be a different combination now?
Do you know what you did that lost it. And you should be able to do fastboot flash recovery
Idk. Only thing I've done besides flashing images is fooling around with xposed stuff
OK guys tbh I found this out today at work and haven't really had time to really check it out. I just went into it again and this is really strange. For some reason I now have to "hold" the buttons quite a bit longer. "Like between 5 & 10 seconds" but it does come up. That kinda makes me a little nervous tho. Don't like that. Makes me think somethings not quite right.

You hold down the volume up button. While holding volume up, tap the power button and that should bring up the menu. You don't really have to hold the volume up button that long. Hold it for like 3 seconds then tap the power button and it should work. It does that way on mine.

Yea, you shouldn't hold the power button because you'll force the device to reboot. lol

Try holding power button down for 15 or 20 seconds. Should power down
Yeah tried that, no luck.
Home Button + Volume Down + Power Button will reboot the phone then press the Power button.

If you get stuck in download mode hold down power and volume down, it will exit download mode but will just reboot your phone.
