Hi All,
After a recent flash of ARHD 71.1 (HTC One M7), I cannot get the Framework to work. I just get the message ""The latest version of Xposed is currently not active. Did you install the framework and reboot?" I've tried:
uninstalling the framework then re-installing by downloading the apk.
disabling all Xposed modules and re-installing the framework
uninstalling the framework and installing an older version
installing the unstable beta version of the framework
disabling/re-enabling permissions in SuperSU
In the 'Framework' tab of the app, the 'app_process' and 'XposedBridge.jar' both show a red line under the 'active' column. The bundled counts are 58 and 54 respectively.
The modes I'm trying to use are:
Advanced Power Menu
Boot Manager
Hide Xposed IME
Network Speed Indicator
Sense 6 Toolbox
Swiftkey Goodness on More Fields
XDual Statusclock
Xposedstatues Text
YouTube AdAway
I've had various Xposed mods working before I updated ARHD, so I have no idea what's going wrong now.
Possibly relevant:
I could never get Sense 6 toolbox to work from within ARHD, even before I started adding other mods:
My first install of Xposed was via Aroma at the same time as I installed ARHD 71.1.
I hope somebody can help me here!
Thanks

Hi GermainZ,
Yes, I've looked through the FAQs but I can't find anything that's completely relevant.
There seem to be issues (bootloops) with the Oppo Framework, I don't have a fix yet.

On some HTC One phones with CM11, the System UI force crashes. This seems to be caused by SELinux restrictions

As far as I know, I'm not running a CM ROM. Anyway, I'm not getting FCs.
Apart from that, obviously it won't work if the conditions mention above aren't met, e.g. if your phone isn't rooted

Yes, of course it's rooted!
Does Xposed get disabled if I flash a new ROM? Yes, because the file it modifies, /system/bin/app_process, is part of every ROM and will be overwritten when you flash a ROM. However, as long as you don't wipe data, the Xposed Installer app will still be installed, so you can just click on "install/update" again in the Framework section and reboot.

Xposed was installed with the new ROM via Aroma, so this isn't relevant.

The FAQ doesn't end there - there 8 additional posts. If those don't help, post your Xposed logs after a reboot.

Hi Germain,
Yes, I've read them all. But none of the other FAQs are anything to do with getting the Framework functioning.
I've just gone into the Framework tab, hit 'update/install' which has cased a reboot (as designed) and now I've gone into the Logs section, but the only message there is 'Log Is Empty'.
I'm wondering if the fact that I'm running the ARHD version of Sense 6 toolbox is causing problems? I presume this would only work if Xposed is installed (via Aroma at the same time as I flashed the ARHD ROM), but perhaps it's a 'standalone' version of Sense 6 toolbox? Just reading back that last sentence makes no sense to me, but then I'm open to any possibilities at this stage!
One of my mods is APM (Advanced Power Menu), and I've noticed that there is a special Xposed Installer quoted in an APM post specifically for the Sony Xperia. Might there be any special installer for the HTC One that I'm not seeing anywhere?
Is S-On active and have you tried installing the framework using the recovery?

S-On is active.
Before installing via recovery - I think I should do a COMPLETE uninstall of the Framework, but not from within the app itself, as that hasn't seemed to work. Any ideas of how to do that?
Thanks for all your help and patience so far!

Excellent! But I'm not sure how to install and apk using recovery. I know how to flash a zip, but not an APK. I'm using TWRP 2.6.3.3. Do I need to use the adb sideload feature and install if from my laptop?
Sorry for this noob question!

Change the installation method in the Xposed Installer's settings.
Hi GermainZ,
I had to get back on board my cruise ship before your last post so my apologies for taking so long to reply. In the end, I did a complete re-flash of ARHD 71.1 and rebooted twice (just to make sure) before attempting to activate and xposed mods. This seems to have done the trick. One of the mods doesn't seem to be working at the moment, so I plan to de-activate them all, reboot, then activate them one-by-one, rebooting in between each. I've read that this is sometimes necessary. If I have any further problems I will of course post again but, for now, thank you very much for your time and help.
Regards,
miles_muso
I installed Xposed Installer and followed the instructions now my phone keeps restarting itself.
Any Idea how to fix? I rooted following these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2066390
and followed these to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727372&page=2
What do you mean by restarting itself? Deinstall xposed again and check if you actually have root access (there is an app called root checker)

Just did that. I do not have root access according to root checker. before i installed xposed it said i was rooted. I was able to restore it in recovery from a backup i did. any Idea how I can get this going. I really just want to root to use the Dot View Case Hack.
I always recommand a toolkit of ome isnt that familiar with rooting and this stuff. Go take a look at wugfresh toolkit. It helps a lot!
But your bootloader is open, right?

Thanks a million for the help. First time on this site and nothing but awsomeness :good::good::good:
Open supersu. Is xposed listed under apps? If no, then just reinstall the xposed app. To install your module, go to http://repo.xposed.info/module-overview, search for dot view hack, download and install it. In xposed you supposed to activate your module and do a reboot. Finish!

Ok. So I DL the xposed app and installed it. I select framework then Install/Update and reboot, when i power it back on and open it says the following message
"app_process version 58 has been installed previously but version "---" was found now. If you didn't expect an old file to be restored, you might want to try installing via recovery auto or manual"
Should it say this?
Try to follow that suggestion. You seem to have a device that resets /system on a reboot.

What module exactly are you people having problems with? The question was in regard to a message that everyone received on the alpha1 build. If you have a module specific question, take it to the module forum.
I have the same issue. Some modules are not working properly. This is what I did to fix it.
1. Download SE Linux changer from Play Store and change SE Linux to Permissive.
2. After activating modules, soft reboot via Xposed Installer.
That should do it.

Are you sure the module is supported? What specific module? My greenify 2.6 beta 5 and some other modules like bootmanager, g3 tweakbox are working as intended. (some tweaks in tweakbox have no effect but that's tweakbox's issue, not xposed)
i have the same problem, i followed every installation step but when i open xposed it show "Installation is only possible manually via recovery for now"
then i try your advice

Not all devices work, yet. This is ALPHA software... Alpha1 didn't work on my S4, but alpha2 did. Probably as simple as that. Or its the rom you are running. Be patient, and hopefully support will come to your device. If you can't wait, you can always downgrade to 4.4.4 and enjoy xposed for kitkat. Rovo89 is doing everything he can. Give it time.
I'm a nobody here or anywhere running (CM12 5.0.2 7105 Xposed alpha2) on att Note 2. I get the same saying to manually recover and have greyed out buttons except reboot. I installed xposed arm then apk. After update i have to reinstall xposed arm again to get it working. I have bern messing around, so trial and error. I got gravity box running but only a few parts work. Stay updated and just be patient and let the experts work.
I've just installed (tried to) Xposed Framework on my Nexus 4 Stock ROM with 5.0.1 downloading the Installer 3.0 alpha2 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 but it show the same message.
It refers to the Framework or the modules?
Also, I cannot enable any module since the Framework isnt active.
I have solved same problem. Follow me, go in xposed --> Framework --> soft reboot, than activate your modules or download it --> soft reboot. That's it! Even if you have the sentece "Installation is only possible manually via recovery for now" the xposed work fine.

I rooted my Nexus 6P running stock 6.0.1 and installed Xposed framework (ver 79), but then I found that I cannot login to Snapchat with the Xposed framework installed.
I went to uninstall it, but the uninstall button in the installer app is greyed out. Is there an alternative way to uninstall Xposed?
Use the Uninstaller zip. The in app options like that and reboot don't work

Thanks, man. I should have seen that on my own. Been playing around with my new Nexus 6P all night must be making me lose my focus.
Where can I find the uninstaller zip?
It is usually there where you downloaded the installation zip.
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app
"could not extract meta-inf/com/google/android/update-binary"
this is what I get in TWRP when I try to flash that file. Any thoughts?
Even I would love to know if the uninstaller works properly.
I'm trying to uninstall Xposed Framework from my OPO for the same reasons (Snapchat's geofilters don't work when Xposed is installed) and would know if this method works properly. Thanks in advance.

I dirty flashed my ROM and every time I update, I'll flash the framework zip again. But on the last update it didn't get deleted. Will that be because I didn't delete the dalvik/cache?
Just Softbricked the device with a module that modified Android.system.ui - HOLD OFF ON XPOSED MODULES at least until a system image is out.
