Stuck on boot animation after ****ing around with layers (SlimLP) - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Flashed SlimLP and had been succesfully using it for about a month before I decided to **** around with layers (Evolve and Commute specifically). When I reboot to apply it got stuck on the boot animation, I left it to charge overnight and it was still stuck in the morning. Tried wiping the cache partition but don't want to do a factory reset if there's a way to salvage it (nothing too vital, just pain in the ass having to reinstall all my apps, etc.)
Total noob to flashing and ROMS, etc. No backups that I know of, not sure if there's a custom recovery. Only found the Amazon one and Fastboot mode.

Yup

You are lucky you can still access the stock recovery. If your device had 5.1.1 then reinstall FireOS 5.1.1 via stock recovery. From that point you can re-root & reinstall your rom + apps & stuff.
Be thankful you're not bricked & don't screw with layers if you don't have a 5.0.1 device. The Fire does not play well with many layers.

Don't know what happened but I can't seem to access the stock recovery any longer. Fastboot mode still works, though. What do I do from here?
Edit: scratch that, I got to the recovery menu again

I know on my nexus 6P it has a overlay folder, if you delete that it should delete your layers that you added(if that folder exists on this)

Bootloop after backup

Could use some advice here guys. I'm stuck in bootloop from simply backing up my system. It seems anything I do in twrp other than doing a reflash of the Rom and gapps is bootlooping me. Again I can flash fresh and start over but I can't do anything else in twrp without a loop. I even tried restoring the phone to the backup that I made just before the loop

From bootloader, enter the following fastboot command:
fastboot format cache
See if that helps.

By chance..... did you save your backup to an OTG drive?

No I did not. Any chance it's a corrupt version of Twrp?

Doubt it.... I had the same thing happen when I did a backup to my flashdrive.
I ended up clean flashing and downloading all apps.

Nope. All I did was clean flash. I don't know what happened. It happened during the backup though, that's all I know. Had to clean flash to get back up and running. Also, it was rastapop that it happened to. I am running euphoria now.

I downloaded twrp in the play store. It has an SD fix on it and I re installed the latest twrp recovery. It seemed to boot up after doing dalvik and cache but not after backup. Issue still remains.

[Q] Stuck at Google logo

Ok, currently running CM12.1 nightly (20150704), CM kernel (build 04), and TWRP recovery (v2.8.7.1).
Everytime I've tried to update the ROM recently, it gets stuck at the Google logo. I've tried factory reset from TWRP and dirty flashing with the same result ... stuck at Google for >20 minutes. I'm able to power off the device, then reboot back into recovery and restore my backup with no problem, but I can't seem to update the ROM anymore.
Any ideas?

Did that too.
I was on 7-2 build, tried to update to 7-4 build and got stick at Google logo. Did some trouble shooting and comment figure it out, so I flashed a factory image / recovery and started completely from scratch. Rerooted, reinstalled TWRP recovery, etc. Then I installed 7-4 build from that, and haven't been able to update since.
I've tried all the normal things when you soft brick. Just can't figure this one out.

Seems that you mess the system and now it is in a bootloop. You need to flash your system via fast boot.
Good luck

This has nothing to do with recovery. Just flash the system image. Also, you will lose root after you do this, but the phone will be back to the factory default.

Nexus 6 5.1.1: Stuck In Boot Animation After Rooting

Nexus 6 stuck in boot animation
I've searched but was unable to find anything to help. I am a noob to rooting. The other day I rooted my Nexus 6 using chainfire. After I installed an app I wanted. In order for the app to work I had to reboot. I rebooted and now the phone will not fully reboot. It gets stuck in the floating dots. Anyway to fix this? I'm on Lollipop 5.1.1 T-Mobile. Thank you.

what app did you install? thats a very important question..
you can always go into your recovery and wipe data, which will let you boot, but you would have to reset up your phone after that.

I installed 'Inversion UI Layers' and 'Layers Manager'. Both from the Play Store. Is wipe data a adb/fastboot command?

yes. in your phones main settings, backup and reset, press the factory data reset(but you cant do it because you cant boot up). you can flash twrp for a one time use only, btw. instead of flashing it permanently. use fastbboot boot recovery recoveryname.img instead of fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img. after, it will disappear and go back to stock recovery.

I messed up Help

OK I was going to give my Nexus 6 to my brother I got a new phone. So I was going to flash a rom and let him start fresh. Well when I was going to wipe I stupidity wiped internal memory. So now the phone is empty? I did not exit out of recovery so I am still in there is there any thing I can do? Even if I have to go back to stock without root that's fine?

it is a stock rom. Uninstall SuperSU and you're done. It an easy way.
But flashing a factory image is also an option.
But more hassle.

Just remain in recovery mode, download the ROM provided or any other you wish. If you want to get it to stock, that requires fastboot which is up to you depending on the time you have as well as the proper drivers installed on your PC. But anyway, easiest method is to transfer that ROM to your device and flash it from your recovery along with gapps. Afterwards, you can uninstall SuperSU and you won't have root anymore
Your problem will be solved within 10 minutes tops

Man, just reboot to the bootloader and flash manually the latest factory mage. If you don't know and don't care to learn, use nexus root toolkit and be happy.
