I've always been one to use screen protectors on my displays, even on gorilla glass. With the nexus 7 using an unconfirmed type of corning glass (ie it might not be gorilla glass and instead just have a scratch resistant coating), i figured to go shopping.
XO skins is the company I've been buying from recently. It is very easy to find coupons that will work online. They work really well, although they can feel a bit rubbery. They do NOT have the orange peel texture companies like zagg are known for. Since it is a wet installation, it is sometimes possible to see "rainbow streaks" under the screen over a white background. If you run into this problem, shoot them an email and they'll send you a replacement. Customer service is excellent.
http://xoskins.com/laptops-tablet-r...in-protectors/google-nexus-7-screen-protector
This next one i haven't tried, but it differs from the above protector in that it is a static cling installation. This would probably be good for those who are against wet installations, or fans screen protectors from companies such as steinheil. This one is anti-glare though, so it is likely that it has a matte-textured or cloudy display.

We should be seeing more in the next few weeks. If you find one, post it
until then, cheers
I'll definitely be going with the Skinomi: I've done both Skinomi and ZAGG, and ZAGG is just too sticky for my taste. IMO, my fingers just glide over the screen much easier with a Skinomi protector.
I've always gone with xoskins and their customer service is AMAZING. No joke, if you feel unsatisfied with your screen protector, just email them and they'll most likely send you a new one. I got one for my Galaxy Nexus though one thing about these types of screen protectors is that dents and marks got onto them pretty easily. Even so, I'll still be getting an xoskin for my Nexus 7 (assuming I get one soon).

+1 SGP for screen protectors & skinomi for silver carbon fiber kit
SGPs are great but expensive. I've bought 5$ screen protectors from Frys that have the same quality as my SGPs. Skinomi intends to scratch very easily and it doesn't self heal. Never had experience with XO skins though and I'm not a big fan of water based once anymore since they seem to dent and scratch easily X_x..
I am not a fan of protectors. I don't use one on my Sony EReader (soft screen) or my Motorola phone (Gorilla).
Both have cases, and are scratch-free after a couple of years use.
That works better for me.
Here's what SGP CS wrote back to me when I asked if they plan to make a SP for the Nexus 7
Thank you for contacting Spigen.com Customer Service Department.
Hi, my name is Diana from Spigen.com.
Thank you for your interest in our products! As of now, we don’t have any definite plans to make screen protectors for the Asus Nexus 7 Tablet. However, if there is increased interest from our customers, we may change our production plans in the future. Please check our website for any updates time to time.
If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Thank you.

Funny thing is that they usually reply with that for most new products if I'm not mistaken.
I'm hoping Clarivue will make a Nexus 7 protector soon. I've always like them, but I'm an acrylic protector kind of person. Just never cared for the "rubbery" feel. I'll put up with the very occasional minor scratch that you can't even see when the screen's on in exchange for a feel that's identical to the screen itself.
i am looking for full body screen protector as iphone
hope sgp makes one soon

Ghost Armor asap, I've had it on every device since my HTC hd2 and it works great for me. Stock gorilla glass (I know the n7 doesn't have it but my wife's Lumia does) seems to get greasy to easily. With my s2 if I get a little dirty I just rub on my pants

I normally just use cheap ones of ebay on my phones which work well enough however my father got a samusung 10.1 and I think because of the size the static as you pull off the second layer just sucked any surrounding particles to the skin.
I bought one from bestskinsever which is a wet application one and it worked very well and was decently priced so I'm planning to get one from them for the Nexus and my new HTC One XL.
I sent a query on their site and got an initial automated reply, the more queries they got for the Nexus the quicker they will start making them.
I used to use typical screen protectors, but I feel they are easier to get bubbles and dust stuck under them and are much less forgiving for mistakes. This is an even bigger problem with larger screens.
I now only use wet application screen protectors, such as InvisibleShield (too expensive), BestSkinsEver, and Prestige / XtremeGuard. There are much easier to apply after practicing on other devices, much more forgiving as if you don't align right, you can easily remove as it's still wet and just spray more of the solution on (water + drop of dish detergent). The secret is to make sure it's always wet when applying and then once it's on, squeegee..if it's not on yet, keep it wet. They do have a bit of texture, but I don't mind it.
I ordered XtremeGuard from ebay for $9 shipped.. much cheaper than the alternatives right now and it ships quick from Utah. I also ordered a folio style case specifically for the Nexus 7 from ebay (shipped from Hong Kong) .. i made sure it was specific because others are selling Kindle Fire cases, but this one has specific slots for speaker and other inputs and is under $10.
Also to the person wanting full body skin...it doesn't make sense to cover the soft back of the Nexus 7 with something like InvisibleShield.
Edit: Links if it's alright:
Screen Protector http://www.ebay.com/itm/32093942421...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_3744wt_1396

Yeah, I wouldn't go with anything other than XOSkins.
I'm absolutely 100% satisfied with the way they've worked on my Nexus.
I "pre-ordered" my Skinomi case from Amazon last week. They estimate 8/1 as the shipping date. That could mean two weeks without a screen protector. My OCD-ness won't like that.

Have you used an XOSkin to be able compare the two? I'm just curious about Matte protectors.
I'm a big fan of DC Mugen screen protectors, usually buying from their ebay store. I bought 10 for my Nexus One, and have only used about 4 in almost 3 years, such good quality they are.
However I noticed that they've shutdown their store, and don't really sell much phone gear any more.
So can anyone recommend a similar seller of quality screen protectors at a budget/value price? Ones that lasts at least 12 months with no sign of peeling or degradation.

What's the clarity like? Because mist anti-fingerprints make the screen look fuzzy.

If they make your screen look fuzzy then it sounds like you perhaps tried matt ones? Matt are usually better for anti glare and fingerprints, but they do make the screen look fuzzy all right.
The best type imho would be a crystal clear gloss type that would also help prevent fingerprints and smudges. I believe SGP ones might offer this but at a premium per protector.
I'm still searching on ebay for something decent with delivery to Europe.

No one with a Gorilla Glass phone should use a screen protector. They increase the weight and thickness, interfere with the proximity sensor and don't prevent scratches, as Gorilla Glass doesn't scratch, and therefore are a waste of money, time and resources. In my experience they're also harder to clean and leave adhesive behind.

I really liked RealLook
I had one for my Vibrant, then one for my S2.
Never had to change them out once I properly applied it.
I would stick with cheap ones. Only thing is, I don't know why they don't make any screen protectors that ONLY have a cutout or the earpiece.
I don't need a cutout for the proximity sensor/ light sensor/ FF Camera. That's superfluous. There's no reason to leave those exposed with stupid cutouts. The Screen protector is Transparent.
Anyway, that's my only complaint Plus, with our screen now, there's a hardware Home button. It'll be extremely easy to line up the earpiece cutout and the Home button cutout and the rest of the orientation will pretty much fall into place quite easily.

Nice, I will be ordering soon. But what do you think about the full body ZAGG - is it going to work with a tpu case for example. I read that the normal ZAGG is not case friendly - the case could lift up the protector at the edges. What do you think - should I order the HD screen protector only or the full body?
I would only get the screen if you are definitely getting the case too

Zagg HD screen protector is pretty nice.
Well at least now I know it's good. But it is expensive. I have never thought I'd pay so much for a screen protector.
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
I had the Zagg full body wrap on mine when I first got my G2 (Verizon), mainly because no cases were available yet. In about the 3 months time it was on, I had it replaced twice due to the back peeling. Once it starts peeling around the corners, dirt gets in there, and it makes your phone look like crap. Eventually, I picked up the Incipio Feather and DualPro cases. Neither case fit properly with the rear Zagg on, so I removed it. The front lasted another month or so, before I eventually removed that one as well.
Getting them replaced is a joke. There are normally kids working at the mall kiosks who are little to no help. I had to inquire several times and they never had them in stock. They'd take my number down on a piece of paper and tell me they'd call when they came in the following week, but I never heard from them.

I had the full coverage version on my S3 and had no issues with it in a UAG case. I did have to get the front replaced with a "case friendly" version under warranty when the case started peeling the edges off. I never had a problem with the back piece even with 3 different cases. Just pay the $4 shipping fee. When I had to get my phone replaced, I got another set for $4 under warranty.Once it's on for a day or so, it's on there.

You have to register online and replacements are easy to get and they ship fairly quick. When you order a replacement under warranty, you can get a different version equal to what you have (or lower). You just have to send them the old one back. I didn't go with the full body version for my G2.

I found one but I wouldn't recommend it. You don't really need cut outs on film ones though. In fact on my Nexus 5 I had tempered glass without cut outs and everything worked fine., though apparently Nexus 6 this isnt quite the case.
Everything is working on mine (only put it on 3 days ago). The other screen protector you can get that has cutouts is Xtreme guard. Dirt cheap and a decent product.

I have found this one has appropriate cut outs, but it is a Wet Application Film. So I'm doubtful if it will damage my phone.

As long as you don't use too much water, it will be fine. I've seen people filming videos under water in the bathtub with a nexus 6. It is not rated for underwater use (and would not recommend you use it underwater either) but a few splashes on the screen isn't going to cause an issue.
Also the armorsuit if too costly for me. So if you are saying that the cut outs are not necessary for film protectors then I'm planning to order the Spigen shown above. It is lesser price with good quality.

You really spent $15 for a plastic screen protector? There are high quality plastic protectors than can be had for 1/12th the price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/6X-Supershi...884973?hash=item2ed8911f2d:g:MxsAAOSwEppUSqmb
Maybe you should hang out with the guy who spent $40 on a Spigen Slim Armor case. (can be had for $12 on ebay)
I've had the same Skinomi film on my shamu since I received it last December. The fact that it's a wet application turns some off to it, but I've had no problems. I have one preordered for my 6p as well.
Yes, I avoid eBay if I can, and would rather spend a little more for it and know who I'm dealing with and the quality of the product. The added cost is well worth the piece of mind. Also the fact that with my OG Moto X, the protectors from Motorola had the best fit and finish by far of the protectors I tried.

So far they don't work. I bought two. One of them was a super guardz brand and the other a vetroo. The adhesive is only used on the edges and the top and bottom so it's not like the usual tempered glass that sticks to the screen with an adhesive that's all over the protector. They're very flimsy and click a lot and won't work with a case. I preordered the OtterBox defender and I'm waiting the 1-2 months that it will take for it to come. I will be careful until then.

Xtremeguard wet apps are great for the price and stuck well to the corners. Some cases will still push it up tho.
Skinomi has the best full body protection I've seen so far, but will only work with certain cases too.
Tempered glass protectors have yet to work on any edge device to my knowledge.
Samsung official pet/dry film protectors look like they have a great fit as well, but will have issues with lifting from most cases too.
Hope some of that helps dude.

I have been reading that none of the curved screen protectors out now work. They are saying that they only have adhesive on the sides. Hope they will come out with one that works good.
Screen protector case combos are slim to none on phone. Spigen worked well with the skinomi, leaving edges in tact, however the bezel covers made it much harder (than the s7 edge) to get on. Overall fit and feel are good, providing better clarity and original feel compared to xtremeguard. Product fails for me because it was $30+ and the side protection was useless. I would rather spend my cash with xtremeguard and get quintuple the product. One corner refuses to go down, and is gonna bug the living hell out of me. Definitely paying for the name and advertising with this one.
Will add a few pics later on.
After searching Amazon and other sources, I decided to go with a temporary solution for now. None of the reviews can be trusted yet.

I called amazon and theu refunded me the $30 on the skinomi for the extended install time and the bunk quality of the side protection. My advice, go with Xtremeguard, they have kicked /-\$$ in every device I have had and they are beyond afforable.
I took my keys today and put them in the pocket my phone was guess the results? Perfectly fine everyone will believe anything and everything they see get a nice case and you will be fine... this is my 12th galaxy device and by far the freaking best...

The OtterBox tempered glass screen protector in this video looks interesting because it is cut smaller so it won't interfere with cases. Unfortunately, it is the most expensive of the bunch. (I am not affiliated with the video creator in any way.)

Thanks everyone is tripping about that YouTube video with the scratch test. I don't think I will be scratching my phone with something as hard as the guy in the video did.
I don't know why they are making them without adhesive in the middle.

I was thinking the same, just doesn't make sense.
Yeah i think we all need to find a screen protector cause excuse my language but this is complete bull****. My phone has so many niks & scratches on it that it sickens me. Not even a wk with this dam thing never touched anything hard, nevet dropped & unless in my hand it sits in my pocket. Sorry but there is no dam reason i should have scratches & niks all over from maybe being in my pocket with some dam change a few times!
