It would be nice a comparation between the sound with the protector and without. You could use an app for checking the sound power. Thanks for the tip.:good:
Isn't that a dust/dirt filter?
Sent from my SM-N910U using Tapatalk
No it's not. It's a metal with holes. The dust filter will reveal when you remove this metal. I've done this about a year ago and never regret it.

good luck, let me know how you liked the result.
just tried it myself...it gives a bit better sound yes.not much...
but at least it's something :good:
im gonna try this... here goes nothing
What's the best method to remove the metal screen?
I've just tried on mine galaxy 4 removing the metal protector but nothing changed, tried to put it on and off during several audio playing but I didn't noticed any difference.
If they put it on it means to me that it's better to have it!
Piumach, you need to put on your tinfoil hat to notice the Placebo Effect. I think it was very clear from this thread

Maybe a little piece of rubber from the GPS antena...
I don't have any strange sound, and I shake it like hell...
The only thing that I saw that can get loose when I open my phone was that.
Or maybe its normal.
Seems u have an extra feature on ur phone. That's cool. Should be happy about it.

THe vibration Device Is like A little motor With A too big case (badly explained) and That gets power And shakes wildly To make The phone vibrate. I Think its that
Almost every newer phone has that problem, some say its because of the autofocus on the camera, other say its the result of a too big external sd card slot...
Fact is, that it's no problem for the performance of a phone, but just a small cosmetic fault...
If you look in other threads of different devices, you will see many of these posts, so just don't think about it.
Sorry for my bad english

So I know I'm very low profile around here, I've never really posted much, sorry for that, I just though people might be interested in this beautiful mod me and my co-worker did to my Nexus 5 to make my speaker volume louder. First I need to say a huge thank you to AdamOutler , you can see full instructions to do this modification (minus the extra touch) over at his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529878and also a big thanks to my co-worker and good friend Jake! Now anyways, on to the pictures!
So in the first picture is the hole mod in the speaker, then in the second and third shots you can see the little speaker hole with mesh made for the back cover to let even more sound out of the device, it's nothing special but I'm super pleased with the way it turned out, my volume is much louder now and it looks simple and clean. Again a huge thanks to Jake for the help and idea and AdamOutler for the original mod, go shoot this guy a quick thanks. !

I kind of think I understand. Are you saying that the sound was muffled before and now its less muffled/not muffed anymore because of the mod?
Does the sound, sound distorted at high volume?

There is some sort of mod or app that you can use once rooted to increase the decibels. I can't vouch for how good sound quality will be once increased since I'm not rooted but you can always test it out.

Yes, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532788. You can either flash a zip or change the value manualy in Root Explorer. It improves the sound volume for sure, i`am using it myself.
And many custom kernels have this option to increase volume output (like faux or Franco). Pretty useful imo...

Hi All,
Got the Z1 last week about 9 dates ago as a replacement for a Samsung Galaxy S3. Generally liking it, though struggling to get used to the size of the handset. One major issue, though that I can't easily sort or find an answer to anywhere.
Basically, when I use a wired headset with inline mic for phone calls, the microphone is way too sensitive. It picks up every movement of the headphone cord, every rustle on my clothes, etc. Tried about 5 different headsets, including a dedicated Android one button Sennheiser headset. All the same. None of these proved a problem with
Anyone any ideas on what's causing it or how to fix it? Is there something simple I'm missing? It's making calls a painful experience.
Thanks in anticipation.

Nope. In one case, the headphones/headset goes back as far as an IPhone 4, so about three years ago. This is the first time I've had the issue with any of them.

Tried that. No change. S3 better than this? In this respect only. V pleased to see the back of the S3, as it constantly had firmware issues, caused, no doubt. Random battery life issues (sometimes lasting a day, sometimes a few hours), crashes, screen redraw issues, glitchy music playback. I could go on.

I think with Root you can get work anything even the sensitivity of your microphone. It can be easy like edit build.prop that something more but I am sure the sensitivity can be managed. If I find something I will post.
Just got mine today, mainly to know when I get phone calls or messages, not as a replacement for my S5. However, I am seeing a lot of other things going on so I'd like to see what it can actually do. I've tried some watch faces but I'm having a hard time getting everything I want on it. Analog, ACCURATE temp, day, date. I can get part of all but the temp is wrong. Also what does Tasker do for me? And Glance? Is ti worth using those apps and do you have some others that you'd like to suggest for a functional guy?
I am happy with canvas for pebble, where you can easily make your Personal watchface.
Also you can modify / copy the built in Layouts, add sensors and switch watchfaces with a little tap via the canvas-app.
Cheers

I"m a pretty minimallist guy and the Pebble lets me do that. Looked at the Samsung stuff and thought about Androidwear but that all looks pretty complicated. Let me know how it works for you. I just used Canvas to build a digital face that had pretty much everything I want info wise on it. Weather still doesn't track with my Phone but it's close enough.

The app gives a lot of features with a very simple look. I really like some of the features though such as being able to reply to a text message with quick replies. So far so good. I also use Pebble Instant as well.

Feel the same way! Really considering the steel over a Moto 360 b/c I don't need all that junk. Plus I feel like the color display would suck battery life and be distracting...

I am interested in Androidwear but I'm pretty sure the shiney stuff won't convince me to buy. Cool concept though. Just don't think its practical now.
Folks,
Is anyone else bothered by the Weak Vibrations from the LG G Watch R?
The weak vibrations are really starting to bother me .. I assume that a new software update could possibly improve the vibrations strength and duration.
Encourage everyone having the same concerns as me to log a ticket to LG and hopefully this will bring our concerns to their attention and create a new SW update with better vibrations (either strong vibrations or longer duration)
Yes, it is a bit bothering me. I can not notice while running or walking.

I'm trying to learn how to increase it. It looks like it will have to be a kernel implementation, and I am not at all familiar with kernels. I am trying to learn, I see the file that needs to be edited but I am not clear as to how to do it properly and I don't want to supply too much power to it and blow it up.
File is here: https://android.googlesource.com/ke...0-kitkat-wear/drivers/misc/msm_pwm_vibrator.c
So I've made great progress. I have successfully gotten TWRP to boot on our device which opens up all kinds of doors for us.
I have also rooted the device now, so stay tuned guys.
Let us know how you get on. Moving from a Pebble, I hardly notice any notifications from the LG G Watch R ... Very faint vibrations compared to he Pebble. Missed several notifications throughout the day ... How does one log a ticket with LG anyway? Perhaps that's the best move? LG are pretty quick to respond, right?

There is a mod now that makes it better but still not Pebble level. I dont think it will ever get as strong as the pebble but I think pebble might have had an overstrong motorntp begin with. I would say with the mod its at 70% compared to the. Pebble.
