System Ui and Density Problem - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hi,
I've made a grave mistake and messed around with the density values on my S5, the density is so low that the System UI and Touchwiz Home shows Force Close Errors every second.
I've tried Factory Resetting it, Wiping the Cache Partitions and both don't work.
Stock Recovery is installed so Custom Roms or Stock Roms won't flash and only Factory Resets the Phone.
Since the Phone was Factory Reset, ADB Debugging is Disabled so i can't use any ADB commands to flash any other Custom Recoveries or Roms.
Device is an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 Active( SM-G870A)
Thanks, Any Help will be Appreciated.

Sounds like a flash back to stock via Odin may be your only option...

[Q] How do you flash a new ROM over cm7 or fix cm7?

Okay so I was a little too hyper with this ROM and I ended up installing everything from titanium backup onto cm7 which messed up a lot of things. I got the "com.android.phone unexpectedly stopped working" error and a few others. I tried wiping the davlik cache, wiping cache, and even a factory reset along with reinstalling cm7, yet com.android.phone is still gone (I have no contacts or dialer available in apps). I'm lost in what to do next. I would like to flash a new rom or if I could, flash a completely-back-to-normal cm7.
Thanks,
Eric
Go back into recovery and flash cm7 again, if you want to flash another rom flash back to stock jf6 and install a different rom.
I've tried to flash cm7 in recovery, sometimes it gets rid of the apps like a memory wipe but it won't reinstall the apps that are supposed to come with cm7 like dialer and contacts. How can I flash it to jh6? Master reset only got me to a memory wiped cm7.
You should not be running cm 7 if you do not know how to flash stock using odin one click.
Secondly, reflashing rom will reinstall all system apps. Make sure you are formatting system and cache then flash rom

Fussy GT-S5830

Hello all. I'm having trouble with a galaxy ace, in that it seems very fussy about which ROMs it will run. Bought it about 6mo ago from Optus Australia on prepaid and unlocked it to use on another network. I tried at the time to upload a custom ROM, but failed and ended up having to re-load it with Odin 4.38 and the only images I could then find, which are these:
APBOOT_S5830XXKPH_CL260130_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
CODE_S5830XXKPH_CL260130_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
CSC_S5830XXKPH_CL260130_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
MODEM_S5830XXKPH_CL260130_REV03.tar.md5
Just recently the device has been unstable so I looked around and found the stable CM 7.2 ROM recently released (cm-7.2.0-cooper.zip) so I grabbed that, installed CWM 5.0.2.6, ran a backup and tried to install it. Device only got as far as the black boot screen with the word Android in uppercase doublespaced and hung.
Booted back into CWM and tried to restore, got the MD5 checksum error. Fixed the nandroid.md5 and tried again, and the device then hung at the initial boot screen for the stock rom (says Samsing Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 or similar).
Back to Odin. Found a recent version (4.42) and a one package ROM, S5830XWKT7_S5830OPPKS6_S5830XWKT3_HOME.tar.md5 and loaded this to the handset. This one gives me an Optus spashscreen followed by the sort of pulsing SAMSUNG text in an infinite loop.
Eventually tried the flasher and ROM I used six months ago (at the top of the thread) and was able to get the phone to boot successfully. Reinstalled the rooting package, reinstalled CWM5 and managed to restore just data out of the advanced backup/restore menu.
So I'm back to where I started, only six hours worse off Has anyone got any idea why this isn't working for me, or any good suggestions of how to proceed?
Cheers,
Alex
Are you sure you are using the GT-S5830 and not the Gt-S5830i ?
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace.
damn, that would be a stupid mistake
No, I'm not absolutely positive. The sticker under the battery says GT-S5830, but from a look at google images the two handsets appear identical? How can I establish for sure?

Use Odin 4.38, download any one package firmware from sammobile with your backup's android version (ie 2.3.4, 2.3.5 or whatever).
Flash it, wipe everything after Flash (from stock recovery), then root, install cwm and restore your backup.
Boot loops are mostly caused when you don't wipe after flashing. Connection issues can be fixed by flashing your region's modem.
Also, restore backups using the appropiate cwm version (backups of cwm5 restore with cwm5)
Cheers. Dunno if I'm being a bit simple here, but I'm only finding 10 most recent FWs here, all of which are 2.3.6 ?
I didn't do as much wiping as you suggest last time though, so i'll give it another whirl and see if I do any better.
I was being simple. Hadn't selected a region.
trying now.
Flash DXKPB 2.3.4 Asian firmware first. If you flash that, it will format all of your partition back to rfs
And after that you can just flash newer firmware like XWKT7 2.3.6 and wipe data. Voila!

i had stock 2.3.6 and i decided to download and flash Jellaxy
it works, but sometimes its slow, lagging and apps crashing
i have nandroids of both (stock and jellaxy)
i tried restoring stock 2.3.6
error restoring /system
advanced restore just system didnt work, too
i flashed 2.3.5 italian through odin (download mode)
odin didnt finish because of bootloop
i dont remember exactly, but i did wipe, factory reset, cache and/or other
it booted, finally (in italian)
then i formatted /data and recovered old data
bootloop
i tried wiping all at once: dalvik, cache, data, factory reset
bootloop
now i cant go to download / recovery by holding vol down/up and home and power, it goes to ramdump
recovery is now home + power
i can restore jellaxy, but not stock
what to do? i'm stuck on jellaxy

To restore a stock rom your file systen to rfs !!!
And all custum rom are ext4!!
Meaning ... Use stock recovery to wipe data causing the system to become rfs again then install cwm and ONLY !!! Restore ! Otherwise if u format it will convert to ext4 again !
U can also use chainfire ext4 app to change file system in jellaxy and then restore.
Take care

[Q] reset phone

Hi
My phone have freezed a couple of times and the battery drain fast. Have done alot of flashing Stock roms due to problems after restored imei file.
phone is now working.
I am now on Jelly bean rooted With PhilZ-cwm6. After I rooted it I used Kies to restore a full back(made when I was on jelly bean without root). Maybe that is the problem. Maybe I should have restored the backup With Samsung kies before rooting.
Maybe try to reset the phone. which one of the option below should I choose. Does any have any advice?
1) Flash Stock JB With Odin
2) Flash Stock JB With odin + pit files?
3) do a wipe data /factory reset(I am on philz-cwm kernel)?
4) or og into settings/backup and reset/factory data reset , here check the Format USB Storage. (could I do this on rooted phone or should I unroot first)
Help is much appriceated!!
Just do a factory reset from settings or recovery, it's the same operation.

[Q] Stuck in TWRP bootloop, thought factory reset was a great idea

Hi,
I just upgraded my old S3 Mini (GT-I8190) with a custom CyanogenMod ROM (NovaFusion), and it seemed to work just fine except for the camera not working properly. That's why I wanted to revert back to the original TouchWiz, and so I made the genius move of attempting a factory reset.
Now I'm stuck in a bootloop, after the screen saying "S3 Mini blablabla" TWRP keeps trying to boot, but gets stuck on the logo screen everytime after a second or two and just keeps rebooting. I've tried flasing NovaFusion again, flashing the recovery again and using some PARAM and WIPE .tar files over Odin, but to no avail.
Does anybody know what to do here? Is my phone a goner?
Thanks.
Maybe you could try full data wipe & then flash original firmware from sammobile via Odin

Stubborn bootloop

My i9295 is bootlooping on the ROM splash screen. I'm getting the animation for the Samsung, SlimBean, CM or whatever ROM I have installed. I have done 2 stock installs using Odin, as well as installing root and CWM using Odin. I've also installed a new PIT file using Odin. Using CWM, I have tried several custom ROMs as well as doing a wipe and clearing the cache, and formatting system prior to a fresh install. And still I get back to a bootlooping splash screen. Other suggestions? TIA...
...nevermind
Pressing Volume up + Pwr on into stock bootloader, then doing a factory reset followed by a cache wipe has resolved the issue. Curiously, I did both of these w/CWM at least twice and had no luck.
