Remix Mini - No Signal - Remix Mini General

Hi all. I just received the Remix Mini and I can not get any signal on HDTV, VGA, HD Computer monitor with 50-60Hz settings. I am using the original HDMI cable included in the box. I have tried powering down, restarting, unplugging and starting, etc. Nothing. Any suggestions?

This is a kind reminder that you can take a look at the listed thread:

[Q] Galaxy i9000 won't boot - waits for a charger every time

My Galaxy i9000 - currently on DarkyRom 10.2.2 (Gingerbread 2.3.4) - has developed a nasty problem: It doesn't boot without a charger attached.
The main problem seems to be that the Galaxy seems to detect a connected charger all the time - even if there isn't one. Battery stats reveal that - if the Galaxy is up and running - a connected chargers is indicated for all times, even if it isn't through prolonged periods, e.g. during the day in normal use. At the same time a different page of the phones's status info indicates that the battery is being used - confusing ...
I've cleaned the USB port thoroughly, tried different batteries, different ROMs (installed stock 2.3.6. for instance) - even dismantled the phone to see if any dust or signs of corrosion were detectable at or near the USB port. There weren't any. At least I didn't see them.
Now I don't mind that the Galaxy thinks that it is charging all the time if it runs properly anyway. Even if it means that there is a 30 second delay until a plugged in charger is recognized (the charging beep is heard and the charging animation in the status bar starts only then). Also I don't mind that the phone needs even more time - around a minute - to detect a disconnected charger; this is the time it takes until the charging animation stops in the status bar after pulling the plug. BTW: This doesn't change anything in the battery stats - they shows continuing charging all the time, regardless of a charger being plugged in or not.
I could live with all that - but the thing that really hurts is the Galaxy not booting at all without a charger (and a wall socket) at hand. Without a charger the Galaxy boots only to a charging animation - in this order: 1. rotating hourglass icon, 2. empty battery symbol, 3. black screen. These three screens repeat themselves in a loop. If you plug in a charger you get a filled battery symbol after 1 and 2 - and at this time you even can pull the plug, and in spite of that the Galaxy will boot instantly and without problems.
So it seems that the phone senses a connected charger, waits for the current, doesn't detect it and goes at it again and again. Once it detects it it's ready for anything further.
Now my question is: Any ideas on what to do? Which USB port lines could be having a short circuit causing this behavior? Is there maybe a software solution for telling the phone that a charger isn't connected? I got root access and Root Explorer is available.
Thanks for any help on this!
Phil
... hope I wasn't too confusing with my original post?
To keep it simpler: My Galaxy S i9000 doesn't boot without a charger attached. Reason is that it detects a connected charger all the time - even if it isn't actually charging. My question is: Is there any solution to this via software? Any possibility to change the "connected charger" status?
Or is this a problem that cannot solved via software? Where do I have to look at the hardware then - any locations where to spot and rectify a short circuit maybe?
Thanks for any help on this!
BTW: Attached find a screenshot of the battery stats running for several hours and days - it clearly shows that the uncharged battery slowly depleting, while the "charger connected" status is on the whole time.

you may need to change the USB connector , its shorting inside vbat to vbus, best to send it samsung, if still under warranty or try checking your micro USB port and cleaning it first

Thanks, it's out of warranty, but I'll try to clean it again more thoroughly.
Your explanation that it's shortening vbat to vbus is greatly appreciated!

[Q] CyanogenMod 10.2 - Erratic touchscreen responsiveness under AC power

First of all, many thanks to Hashcode for his great work. Second think, please forgive my poor english skills
I succesfully installed CM 10.2 in my KFHD7. It runs smoothly but I found that the touchscreen behaves erratically when the kindle is hooked to its charger, ie, it's almost impossible to type anything because it keeps on inserting (or erasing) random letters. To solve the problem is enough to unhook the charger.
I tried other ROMs like Pac-man to no avail, same situation. All of them had 3.0.50+ kernel version. I wasn't able to patch and run a lower kernel version but I'm ready to additional testing.
TIA
That problem is because of the charger, I believe it is caused by it being slightly under the amperage it should be putting out, I have a similar issue with my iPod car charger, except it somehow effects devices around it in in a 3 foot radius as well.

Thanks for the tip. After some testing, in fact, it seems the charger is the problem's origin.
I didn't bought the original Kindle charger. I have several micro-USB chargers at home and I use them at will without repairing which one I'm using. Well, a couple of them are in the 750-850 mA range and every time that I connect the to the tablet the erratic behaviour arises again. If I connect the Kindle to a PC port (500 mA) or to an 1 A charger I have no problem.
So with your advice I was able to pinpoint the problem's source. Again many, many thanks :highfive:
My experience with four different chargers (all of them 5V):
- 2A/1A (Kensington iPad/iPod car charger): everything OK on both outputs (2A and 1A).
- 0.85A (Amazon wall charger for Kindle Keyboard e-reader): KFHD7 detects more than three touches for every real touch, unusable while charging.
- 0.7A (Blackberry 9700 wall charger): KFHD7 sometimes detects an additional touch (not for every real touch), you can use it while charging but you must be careful and stop undesired actions.
- 0.55A (Huawei Y300 mobile phone wall charger): everything OK (now connected, not sure it is really charging although it reports so).

Thanks for your information. It validates my own experience point by point.
BTW, my problematic chargers came from two mobile phones: 780 mA charger from a Samsung Galaxy SII and 850 mA charger from a Sony Xperia Mini Pro.

[SOLVED] Issue with Touchstone on CM11

I had recently put JCS's CM11 20140625 build on my touchpad and noticed that it locks up when placed on the Touchstone. The device freezes, then the Clock app force closes, shows the homescreen again, then remains unresponsive to touch or buttons. As soon as you take it off the Touchstone, it behaves normally again.
If plugged into USB via computer or AC, it does not exhibit this behavior.
Does anyone have any ideas? I updated to the 20141002 build of JCS's CM11, but it still does the same.
Any help appreciated!
SOLVED!
Turns out I had changed the AC-USB adapter powering my Touchstone. It was only 500mA output and was causing issues as soon as you put it on the Touchstone. Odd that it crashes the Clock app, but anyway.... Putting the Touchstone back onto a 2A output USB adapter sorted it.

[Help] Battery or Logic board?

I left my phone to charge via USB pc port. When I woke up, the screen was showing me the Bootlogo (Unlocked bootloader warning bla bla bla). So I disconnected the X and tried to reboot it and now it won't "wake up". Not even to fastboot. I tried all the keys combinations, for short and long time pressed. Nothing. When I connect it to my computer and hold the power button, the green LED blinks once and the computer makes the "Device connected sound" but after a few seconds, the disconnected device sound kicks in. Did this happen to someone? Did my battery died? Or my entirely phone did? Thank you.
Try a different USB cable, microusb connector or port might be worn out.

I have the same problem
If I keep the charger connected to the phone, it stays on and the load to 100%. If I disconnect the charger, it is instantly turned off, as if it had no battery connected inside.
More than a month ago I have this problem and can not find any solution.
Anyone know anything? He could solve this problem?

Nope. Sigo igual :/
For those interested, having the same problem:
It turned out to be the battery. I tried different cables and chargers before (Original and generic) and nothing. But today I tried (As a last resource) on of those crappy multi-pin usb cable (http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAwMFgxMDAw/z/lWoAAOSwyQtVuK4e/$_35.JPG) with an old Sony-Ericsson wall adapter (http://www.mobilemonsters.lv/images/charger_sony_ericsson_ep-800.jpg) and the screen turned on to the battery with the 0%. Waited a couple minutes and the phone booted normally.

850mA is max recommended for revivivng Moto X from deep discharge. I'm using 700mA charger from LG

Turning galaxy tab s 8.4 into a wall clock. Socket power, no battery. Need feedback.

Hi,
A little bit of background:
I had previously converted my original nexus tablet into a clock. I followed a guide on YouTube by cutting the wires from the battery. Then, just connecting the red wires from the battery to a spliced up micro USB cable (red wires). Trimming all other wires. Cut a hole at the back of the case so that the USB port can pass through and connecting straight to the USB charger. The modified clock has been running steadily for more than 5 years now. Aside from power failures which I need to turn it on and turn on the clock app back, no other issues. The battery indicator is 0%, but charging. Direct power, no battery in tablet.
So I thought the same technique would work for the galaxy tab s 8.4. Did the same like the nexus tablet. It kind of work, until I noticed the battery is draining. It starts at full charge (100%), then it will slowly drain to 0% and the battery will die. At first I thought I did a bad job at soldering or connnecting the wires, but after a week of trial and error, I finally found the problem. With the tab s, direct connection does not work. The battery appears full, then slowly charges down. The tablet does not detect a charge, even when it is actually connected to the wall.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
One method I did think was rewiring the battery csbles so that it loops to itself. Red to red, black to black, without the spliced micro USB cable. Then power will come directly from the micro USB port. I noticed that if I connect the charger to the port, there is a charge. But since I have two power sources going to the tablet, connecting through USB port will cause the tablet to turn off. Maybe overload or something.
I don't think removing the battery connection and just using the micro USB port port for direct power supply will solve the problem as I did try to just connect it while removing the power source which is attached directly to the battery. It did register a charge, but it can't turn on.
Thanks.
You may be able to fix this with a resistor, but I really don't know much about that at all.
I know you can make a "download mode" cable, to get certain devices into download mode...
Here's another - .
