Hello All,
I have been a big time fan of HTC for long and being a newbie to custom Roms, i'm herewith putting up this thread for some general questions which i need and expect some answers over with the same. The model which i use is Htc One M7C_Dug
Some time ago, while working over rooting process, i bricked my phone and with the help of some fellow members of this forum i was able to get my phone back to life which seemed impossible though. Once it was back to life, i noticed a few problems which were a big time issue for me.
1) Phone's sim slots are not working anymore. Actually it does not recognize any sim which i use. I got the same checked to the repairman and he said the hardware is running good and its a software glitch.
2) When i try to connect my phone through any available Wifi network, it does connects once but in a blink of n eye it shows "not in range" although i'm sitting next to my Wifi network. And once i forget the network, my Phone's Wifi never shows it up again.
3) I tried to install a mod for music a while ago but i guess it never worked off well on my phone and hung my phone off. All what i noticed that during that period my phone actually started reading my Sim card but due to its continuous hanging issues i could not even work on my phone for more than a minute so i had to roll it off through Nandriod backup.
I guess its the firmware which was advised to me, link for the same is attached beneath
http://d-h.st/HvQ
I would highly appreciate the efforts if someone can take the time out and can advise me what is wrong and how can it be corrected..??

So the RUU you flashed was for JellyBean? This will contain very old radio versions. I'm not saying that's the issue but it's a possibility.
What is your current
Code:
fastboot getvar all

Here are the latest radio images from the OTA firmware. I do not know the correct partitions to flash them to on your dual sim so you`ll need to find out if you don`t already know. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5k7jeu7wak7x385/M7C_DUG_L50_Radios.zip?dl=0
also i don`t know how well it will work the old firmware. I would recommend updating the rom and firmware properly if these radios don`t help. You should find everything you need here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617159

Well my experience with dual sim devices is limited. But there is a trick that has worked for other HTC one variants with the same problem. It is a work around but worth trying.
You can build up the back of the sim card with layers of sticky tap. This improves the seating and connection of the sim card. If this works it almost certainly means the sim tray or slot are worn or damaged in some way. Try it and let me know how it goes ?

I'm sorry I don't know which roms support dual sim. I didn't even know Viper was avaliable for dual sim.
I noticed with the dual sim you are able to open up the back to access both sim slots. Have you tried applying pressure with a finger to the main sim to see if that helps. It almost certainly seems to be an issue with sim card connection.
Edit:- @Pradeep321 Here is a CM 12 rom for dual sim cdug. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3199454

I wouldn't normally recommend CM roms either but I just happened to come across the thread in General. Thought you might like to try it.
Unfortunately the dual SIM devices didn't get much of a following here on xda so development is few and far between. I was going to suggest posting in the DualSim Mega thread but I see you already did. ?

Hello,
I have just gotten a new HTC One to play with and I'm a Sprint customer. Similar naming schemes leads me to believe the correct ROM would be the M7SPR roms...especially since this is the only thread I can find for a Sprint HTC One....however, the one I installed does not appear to work for my phone and leads to believe I actually need m7WLS Roms. I do not see any such ROMS in this forum. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Hey, thanks bud. Giving this one a shot as soon as the download finishes. Do you by chance know what the difference in the two phones is? I see this ROM was located in this same section of the forums so I guess I just need to weed through all the m7spr's as I look here for the m7wls ROMS...
Thanks again for the help.^^
You should figure out how to check what your CID is, or just figure out what type of HTC one you have.
We need more info about your device.
Most roms are ports or modded from the international version then optimized for us Sprint/cdmA users.

You need to be rooted with a custom recovery also to flash custom roms, getting s-offed is another thing you should have.

Ok thanks guys...my device is the Beats Audio version of the HTC One..idk if that helps..says model PN07200 in small print on the back of it...that 6.0 sense rom for wls doesn't seem to be working for me as my mobile network wouldn't come up and constant FC's, bootloop after restart. I definitely have rooted this phone and am using a version of TWRP with full SELinux support but I'm not sure about the S-Off thing...could that be the problem for me? Just tried reinstalling the rom so I'll try to get more information when it finishes booting..

Ah ok...what led me to believe they were different devices was that I had a Viper Rom installed and tried to update it OTA and the viper update tool said "incompatible m7spr ROM installed and m7wls device!"
This Nuisense ROM keeps randomly restarting on me but I am trying to get more info via settings > about phone if I can get to it...

Nuisense is nice but you have to let it keep rebooting about 5 times and settle and it'll be good. As far as Viper Rom it could be the installation script has not been updated, or perhaps you are using an old recovery that is not recognizing the difference.

OK so finally got the rom to finish rebooting itself(10-15 reboots later lol) and have some more information about it:
Hardware Version:
0004
Processor:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quad-Core
Memory:
2gb
Display:
4.7 in 1080p
Camera:
HTC UltraPixel w/2.1m front camera
Bluetooth:
4.0
Model Number:
HTC PN072
I could get more software information but that won't really tell us much if I've installed software not meant for the phone by accident, right?
Is this enough information to determine the One that I have?

Just making sure.....so that means I can use the spr ROMs as well? Or am I limited to the wls ROMs?
I would normally just try it but I actually have this phone now because I ruined my Photon Q by somehow erasing its ESN and MEID from a bad flash (i guess) so I'm a little paranoid now, lol.
Yes any of those

Hi, I have been reading this forum for 2 days straight trying everything and most of the things helped but now I am stuck.
My problem: I am trying to use the phone on Bell network. No signal, GSM status : Emergency Call Only. When I select Bell from network list it tells me that the SIM does not support the Network. If I put the same SIM in another phone it works and gets network.
My phone:

Preffered Network Type : CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto
CWM: M7 TWRP Nandroid Backup CID BM___001 1.29.666.5
What I did:
1) Tried the tape method in case SIM card was not making proper contact with phone pins. (Than I realized that was nonesense since the phone was detecting my contacts...)
2) Flashed new firmware (6.06.401.1 came with radios nothing changed)
3) Installed the Bell Mobility Nandroid Backup (still nothing except I can now install the Bell applications from my SIM card)
I am looking for suggestions, ideas and possibly solutions. Any help is welcome!

have you tried another sim in the HTC connected to a GSM network, I have a suspicious feeling you have a GSM phone there and Bell requires a CDMA phone, completely different partition layout.

also, another thing ive noticed, is the firmware you flashed is a 401 firmware, thats WWE Europe, not 100% sure if that maybe at fault
I believe someone recently had success flashing developer edition firmware and RUU on their device and they were on Bell.
I'll see if I can find the thread, EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/dpes-developers-edition-canada-t2851008

be sure to check the MD5 and file size of the RUU before flashing, and if the download is a little slow, you can try this link instead, same RUU:
http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...8_10.38r.1157.04L_release_353887_signed_3.exe
no, WWE means world wide English.

there isn't one.
plug your phone into the computer and make sure it says fastboot USB on the screen, then double click the RUU.exe file and it will launch, follow the on screen instructions, flashing takes quite a while, about 10 mins I think mine took, and at points it will look like its stuck, not very reassuring I know, it got stuck at 5% for me and then suddenly jumped to 95%, then seemed to sit there forever until it finally completed.
EDIT: is your Bell sim still in the phone ?

good, because during set-up it should detect your sim and ask you to select your operator, im hoping Bell is in the list.

damn, I had that problem once, its not the RUU at fault, its your computer, this is how I fixed it, its a bit long winded and you have to restart your computer after each installation, you need to install all of them one at a time, or you can try another computer if you have one available.

I want to take a minute and thank you @Seanie280672!!! I am going to go ahead and try it... I do however have another pc next to me so I will try running the RUU from that one in the meanwhile.

Hi there, so all of a sudden i realised that my screen wasnt responding because when i would scroll down or swipe across app or links or watever that was in a certain section would just be selected randomly or the scroll or swipe just wouldnt do (i have included a zip file with a video in it demonstrating what is going on. In the video you can also see that i have problems pulling down the notification bar). So therefore i decided to check the HTC Guide app which allows to check out stuff on your phone to see if its working. There i checked the line drawing test, (i had done it before so my phone defo didnt come lke that). When i did the test i realised that certain parts of the screen werent working. (i have also included file with a video showing what is happening). Therefore I'm asking anyone if they can help me with this. I have tried going into SafeMode. And nothing happened except that when i rebooted my phone i lost some apps like BleacherReport(that is the only app i can remember as of right now)
Additional Info: **I'M A NEWBIE SO PLZ EXCUSE ME **
I have a HTC ONE M7 which i rooted this past JUNE. I currently have KitKat 4.4.2 with ViperOne 6.2.1 ROM with a Kernel ElementalX- 14.12. (i know they both need updating but i dont know how to so can someone also tell me how to do that)
I have never dropped my phone on its screen without the case. The case has a lip so the screen has never been affected.
So again can someone plz help.
I think the digitizer is faulty. I had that problem with my M7 before buying the M8. If your phone is still under warranty you can send it for repairs.
Hi Thanks for replying.
I know that I can unroot my phone and get my warranty back. Even though I bought my phone in America, I live in the Barbados(which is in the Caribbean) so i can't send it back for repairs. I have never lived there or don't have relatives there so that I can't use that option. One of my relatives might go there next year around September but I'll be planning to buy the M9 then.
Thanks for letting me what the problem is though.

Post a fastboot getvar all except for imei and serialno! Depending on the output we might be able to find something that will work for you. Also, it might fix your screen issue if it is software related.

Hi, after nearly a year. I'm soo sorry. I had school and other sorts and I always wanted to reply to you but I coulldnt and then I finally forgot.
Can you please still help me. I had KitKat 4.4.2 with ViperOne 6.2.1 ROM with a Kernel ElementalX- 14.12 but I went trying a whole bunch of nonesense and I softbricked my phone and so I dont want to mess around again. I had a Stock Rom before so I just restored it. Now i'm back with Stock(4.4.2) and Venom has gone. I live in Barbados and the Lollipop update still hasnt come out yet but the latest update (4.4.3) is ready to install(I forgot and downloaded it)
Now, I actually want to get Venom 9.0.0 but I think that needs the Lollipop update/latest firmware. CAN YOU PLEASE VERIFY THIS FOR ME?
Also, please bear with me. I know that fastboot getvar all is needed, but my laptop is Windows 8.1 and i am currently uninstalling HTC Sync and doing other sorts right now so I will come back to you with that shortly.
Thanks again and Sorry once again. Dont worry I wont respond next year
Here is fastboot getvar all.

Hi guys, my first post on here, sorry it has to be a request for help.. I've read through a mountain of threads about M7 issues, but none seem to match my issue, so I figure I can only ask.
Oh, by the way, I am very much a novice at this, so I may need things to be explained in a little more detail than some. I'm not a total noob as I have modded a few other phones in the past.
I have an HTC One M7 and decided I wanted to flash a different ROM. I went to HTCDEV and went through the process to unlock the bootloader. This went flawlessly.
I then installed TWRP 2.6.3.3 in fastboot. Again no problems.
I have an OTG cable (with external power).
I made a backup with TWRP which went ahead without error.
I then did a test flash of ViperOne 6.2.0 which went without issue, but ultimately I wanted to flash ARHD 91.1 (Lollipop 5.0.2).
My problem is that after ViperOne 6.2.0 I can no longer install ANY ROM at all. It says installing but then TWRP returns to the main menu with no error mentioned. I'm sure it's something I've done, just don't know what. After a few failed flashes I did format various partitions, and I suspect I flumped something at this point!?!
It's like the all the partitions on the phone are locked. And everytime I exit TWRP it says you have no OS installed and also says I'm not rooted and do I want to install SuperSU. I say yes everytime, but it will ask the next time still.
It's got to the point that I've ran out of ideas, so I hope there is someone that may have an idea.
So to summarise,
I have an unlocked bootloader.
I am still S-ON as I have HBOOT 1.57 and Rumrunner wont work.
I have no ROM installed, so cannot boot the phone into anything but fastboot and recovery (I can still flash different recovery environments from fastboot)
Hopefully someone may have an idea. Thanks very much in advance.

ok first of all, you need to use TWRP latest for Lollipop custom roms, 2.6.3.3 is too old, use 2.8.6.0, also, expect problems with Lollipop roms whilst your still on KitKat firmware (hboot 1.57), you really need to be on Lollipop firmware to use Lollipop custom roms.
People using the latest Lollipop custom roms on KK firmware are reporting no wifi, Bluetooth issues etc.
can you post your fastboot getvar all please without imei and serial number please.

yup shows me a lot of info: 6.16.61.8 this shows me your on Orange UK network, although its now T-Mo & Orange together as EE, sorry but they've not released the Lollipop update yet for the 61's which is the 3rd set of numbers pulled from that long number above, this also confirms your on orange UK ORANG001 and so does this: PN0710000 kind of......... long story
m7_ul this tells me you have the LTE version of the M7
4275mV battery info = good
4T.28.3218.04 radio version
1.57.0000 hboot version
(bootloader) security: on (bootloader) build-mode: SHIP PVT SHIP S-ON basically your s-on
it would show your imei number and serial number too, but you want to keep those 2 numbers to yourself.

plug your phone into the computer whilst its booted into recovery main screen only, the internal storage of your phone should open on your computer, copy the rom.zip to your internal storge, unplug and flash it.
I'm pretty sure 2.8.6.0 supports usb otg, you may have to select it as a storage option first as it defaults to internal storage, cant quite remember as I'm on an M8 now.
edit: yes it does, select install and then at the top change from internal storage to usb otg.
I've re installed TWRP 2.8.6.0 and finally got it to see the USB stick (reformatted it). But when I try and install it seems to be going ahead, but after a minute or to I get the TeamWin splash screen flash up as though recovery is booting and it returns to the main menu. Oddly, the LED on the memory stick is still flashing!?!
I'll try installing from the phones internal memory like you suggested and hopefully that will work. Thank you so much for this, I'll update in a while.
Okay, I've got the ROM on the internal storage and am currently trying to install it. It has gone through to suggest it has installed so I am rebooting...
It has got further than I have with the OTG all day, so I have my fingers crossed...
Waiting...
Waiting...
And we have lift off, wow! It installed fine that time, thank bacon for that! I really didn't need the expense of getting another phone at the moment, what with car insurance, van insurance, van tax, and all the other bits I've just forked out for.. I would have been phoneless (and possibly homeless!) for the next several weeks!
So it was perhaps a dodgy flash drive or OTG cable maybe? Strange that it worked before.
I can not thank you enough! Strangely I did try to put the ROM on the internal storage earlier, but it said the ROM file was too large to transfer to internal storage!? Not sure why it suddenly let me, but very happy it has! Thank you again, without your suggestion I probably wouldn't have bothered trying that method again. :victory:
You're awesome.

Hi,
I've bought a used HTC One M7 from Ghana because I needed a replacement phone while I was working there. I noticed it didn't have a factory ROM on it, but I figured I would change that anyway. So I bought it.
First problem with it was a well documented issue with HTCs and their conflict with Google Play Services which resulted in the malfunctioning of voice calling. Since it wasn't a stock ROM, i was unable to get the OTA updates that eventually fixed this bug.
So I decided to flash a custom ROM on it.
The phone had SuperCID and was S-off. It turns out it was a US Sprint version, although its back cover had an ATT logo. Who knows what was done to this phone. Anyway, since I am far from being an expert at flashing custom ROMs and custom recoveries, I asked a friend to help.
He managed to install TWRP and a Cyanogen 12 nightly ROM (12-20151108-NIGHTLY-m7spr) but in the process something must have happened because now, even though the phone works fine and boots fine, it doesn't recognise my sim card and there is no network signal.
When I realised that the baseband, IMEI, MEID, ICCID and a few others said "unknown" instead of their values, i dug through this forum and concluded that the EFS partition must have been erased or damaged in the process. (is there a way to confirm that?) There was no backup, obviously.
I have read bits and pieces of information about this problem, but nothing that seemed helpful in my particular case.
I can't flash any other ROM on it because it says the MD-5 file is missing or something like this.
So I am stuck with an almost working phone, and no solution to my problem. I even called HTC service and they said they will not fix a phone sold in the US, since I live in Romania.
So this is basically my only hope of getting this phone to work again. If even possible. So, please, in layman terms, what can I do?
Thank you!

First of all, sprint phones are CDMA phone. Once the sim is unlocked, it will work on GSM but you'll not get full connectivity i.e probably no LTE.
Is the IMEI MEID and Baseband correctly displayed when using "fastboot getvar all"? Also post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (don't shate your imei and meid). Sometimes, flashing a RUU can fix this problem, in some other cases its caused by an hardware defect.
And btw, HTC phone does not have an EFS partition.

Thank you for your reply. I will get the information you mentioned and I will reply again as soon as I have it. If the HTCs don't have that partition, then this gives me a bit of hope, since I am sure that the baseband, IMEI and all the others were there before I flashed the CyanogenMod. So it might not be a hardware issue.
Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. Overworking and having to do everything on a Mac makes these things a bit harder. Basically I have to read tutorials for every step I do. So..
I finally was able to get the fastboot command a try. You were right. The IMEI and MEID are there, but the baseband is not. What does that mean? Flashing a RUU will fix this? Can you point me to the right RUU to flash so I don't brick this troublesome phone?
Thank you again for your help. If anybody else has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Just wanted to let everyone know that it worked. I was able to flash a Sprint RUU (not the one from their website, because the exe utility crashed at some point. don't ask me why) I flashed a zip RUU using fastboot. Just like that. In two minutes I had my phone back.
So, again, thank you very much for your help.
