Hi!
I have Xperia T, locked BL and tried to root it with Kingroot after the rooting process I reboot it and turned bootlooped.
I can't factory reset it nor flash using Flashtool or PC companion coz the volume down is busted (not working really).
Is there any workaround you have in mind guys?
Thanks a lot...

How busted is it? You can try removing the back cover and push vol down without it from there, push it hard or find some pin and push through the vol- panel. Other than that, I'm not sure if we have here something like samsung's "jig" method or if we can force enter flashmode via adb.

I removed the back cover few mins before reading your reply to see the parts inside and i'm not surprised it is really worn off.
Maybe i"ll try switching the working volume up to down so that I can do the resetting if really I have no choice.
Thanks for responding Sir.

No prob. You can try searching for hardware vol. keys remapping(could be hard though if you can't access adb/flash anything) or you can try restoring your phone via fastboot since vol+ is still working plus try if you can access recovery via fastboot flashing custom kernels. I think that might work for you.
Edit: forgot you're on LockedBL so custom kernels won't work.
I have had the same problem with Kingroot yesterday

What do you mean by "can't unlock"?, If you mean bootloader, then you can't unlock it unless "bootloader unlocked allowed: YES" in your phone configuration (how to unlock).
Also, what exactly is the problem with your device right now, please be more specific about the issue at current status of your phone.
Solved remapped the hardware button. and it does the trick for volume down (flashmode)
Sold the device for few bucks...
My Xperia tx have the issue that I can't do anything with flashmode what is this adb method I wanna try it

Hi all.
I have a Nexus one , rooted and unlocked. with broken power button
While i was going through an update using ROM MANAGER, the phone restarted then halted on the X screen, I can get in the fastboot screen (recovery) but without the power button i can't select any option and go further than that. and if the phone starts normally it stucks on the X screen.
I tried removing the sim card and SD , and tried the command "C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.4-
passion.img" it succeeds flashing the file .. but what shall i do next???
the google driver (ADB) is installed on the device manager on my PC, and recognized while stuck on the X screen. BUT if connect the device while on the recovery it is recognized as "ANDROID BOOTLOADER INTERFACE"
I also tried using SUPERONECLICK v2.3.3. but didn't work as well.
PLEASE HELP ME

How did you manage to fix your phone with a broken power button? I'm in the same situation; I have copied the PASSIMG.zip to the SD card as well.. how do I run it with a broken power button in bootloader?

Were you having a backup already present (Backed up using an App?) . If yes, then you can restore. But i don't think the other way around is possible.

If you plug/unplug 4 or 5 times phone boot itself (with an USB plugged in). Repaired a neighbour's N1 last month this way.
When phone boots, restart to bootloader and flash Blackrose, it uses trackball and volume keys to navigate, then what you want. You doesn't need the power button with this configuration (trackball could unlock the screen and to lock you can install some app or widget).
Anyway, I unassembled N1 several times (to clean it and to reconect the upper chip that it's been disconnected in a fall to the ground), maybe with a little care and seeing some youtube videos you can repair your button!
Heyho!
I searched almost the whole day & web to find a solution for my problem, and you are my last instance.
My 1 day old Xperia T got into a Boot-Loop, and only the Sony-Logo shows up after starting the phone.
Previous procedure:
I installed the Sony PC Companion 2.1 and updated to 7.0.A.3.195, after this the phone went into the loop.
Now i can't flash any other software because USB-Debugging is off, and i didn't root the phone yet.
I tried to flash back to LT30p_7.0.A.1.303_Generic DE (found it here) but without Debugging = no flash.
Do you have any idea how i can flash or use any other FW without Debugging or Root?
Flashmode and Fastboot mode work in Xperia Flasher!
If you can stand loosing your data you could try a factory reset via recovery.
Info on how to access recovery menu is in the all-in-one thread.
If I helped, hit Thanks!

If you tried this via the official PCCompanion you could always take it back to the shop.
But i do suggest the following
1) Uninstalling pccomapnion
2) Redownload and install PCCompanion
3) Repair phone via PCComapnion. (You do not need USB debbuging for this)

The PCCompanion doesn't even recognize the phone because it always restarts. There are only 2 modes: loop or off.
I will return this brick to the shop, thank you for the proposals!

I know what you mean, but when i plug in the USB-cable, the phone automatically turns on.
The menu is like this: SEARCH -> CONNECT (i plug in the cable) -> RECOGNITION -> at this point the phone is on for a few seconds
but it turns off and aborts the update!
This error appears: "PC Companion could not connect to the phone... please read the document troubleshooting".
But no point in this document helps me. There are only proposals like:
-use another USB port
- turn the phone off and on again
- Use another USB-cable
Seems like Sony bricked it with it's own software
Take it back to the shop then

Did you try :
while device is power ON
Volume Up + POWER (for 10 seconds) -> resets the battery, its like removing the battery and putting it back in [device will vibrate once]
Volume Up + POWER (for additional 5 seconds, total 15 seconds) -> will power off hard, device will power down [device will vibrate thrice]

You don't have to. You have to put the device in fastboot or flashmode which you reach by holding either vol-up or vol-down BEFORE respectively WHILE hooking the phone up to your pc.
But as greg said, undplug and completely power off your device and put it aside. Then start PC Companion and chose repair. PC Companion will then guide you through the steps necessary to get your phone to a state where it can be reflashed.
because it always restarts. There are only 2 modes: loop or off.

Not true, it does not restart by itself in either flashmode nor fastboot mode
As pointed out above, theres fastboot mode and flashmode which bypass the failing OS bootup

You obviously have no clue what a brick is. You have a bootlooping device which is nowhere near a brick. But that's probably a detail you're not interested in.
Try to follow the steps above to repair (=basically a full on, clean reflash in Sony vocabulary) your phone and get rid of the bootloop.
Hi guys.
first ever post in here!(because nearly all of the time i've found an answer here!! cheers!)
i've had exactly the same problem and been looking all over for a solution as i also have the boot loop problem occurring. tried the repair options in pc companion and also SUS. if i'm right the battery has to be above 50% to update and i'm pretty sure it's drained. i remember when flashing my htc one x when that was stuck in bootloop with low battery that to get enough battery I made a battery loop batch file which charged the device. however this was in fastboot mode and i don't think i have that option on my Xperia T. is there any way to charge the battery so as to attempt another repair?
Thanks in advance!

Just leave it plugged in. But i have used pccompanion when the battery has been as low as 10%.
I think you could try a hard reset. (Volume up and power button for 5-8 seconds, and then keep it pressed for a further20 seconds, untill it vibrates several times) Then try flashing a stock .303 file from the all in one thread via flashtool

tried the flashtool with the relevant ftf file but after an initial connection phase it kept bootlooping back out of 'connected mode'. however i left i (trial and error) and it did start to flash the ftf but initially it stopped around 40% then re-bootlooped. i messed around with vol- connection to usb and power plus vol+ shutdown method (which incidentally did not vibrate) serval times left it plugged in and each time it started but stopped flashing around 92-94% complete. having got frustrated i just thought what the hell and left it to attempt to charge overnight (i say attempt as this method never seemed to charge the device once i had this problem). Anyways i must've done something right (or not!:silly as i tried it again but today there must've been some charge applied as it flashed on the second attempt i tried (the first resulted in another aborted flash) it flashed my T no problem!:good:
thank you guys!
Glad it worked out for you.
But you activated USB-Debugging before your phone started looping right?

Press the power button and volume up for 10 -15 seconds.
it will vibrate once, that is like a restart
If you continue to hold for another 10 seconds it will vibrate 3 times. That is like pulling the battery.
Try turning it on after that

Have you flashed anything to the phone?
Have you rooted it?
Have you unlocked the bootloader?
If you dont know what these mean then you will not have done them.
Please plug the phone into the wall charger and leave it for a few hours then try the power and volume up button again. It is essential you leave the phone alone in this time.
Last question, when you press the power button and the phone is on charge does the red LED come on?

OK, try what I suggested. There may be other things that can be tried but if my phone behaved like that straight out of the box when I had not tampered with it I would take it back to the shop and demand a new one. Even we were to "fix" it via doing something on this site I would always be slightly worried I had a defective device.
Is it possible for you to return it?

Have you installed PCCompanion on your PC? If not google it, download and install it. Also, look in the first thread in the development section for a thread called flashtool. Last thing to try tonight
Download flashtool
Goto the installation folder and then into the driver folder.
Run flashtool drivers
Choose nx for ICS
tx driver
flashmode driver
fastboot driver
Then try again with pccomapnion.
If that does not work, download a stock FTF file from post 3 in the first thread of the Q&A section.Choose any file for the xperia t.
Open flashtool
Once downloaded, drag and drop the ftf file into the open window of flashtool.
When prompted attach the phone in flashmode (press volume down when attaching the usb cable)
Thats me for thenight now.
Let me know how it goes, but I wont be back untill the morning

I think what should be focused on first is getting juice back in that battery. Plug it in to the charger and let it sit for a few hours (like, at least 8 hours). It may boot loop but maybe it will still get some juice? (not sure about this..). Then you can try again to get into Flashmode. (Are you experienced in flashing stock FTF's with flashtool?)

Go to the original post in this thread and click the Edit Post button. Then near the Save button should be a "Go Advanced" button. You can edit the thread title in there. Glad to hear it worked out for you.

I have wiped the system accidentally in the twcp recovery. Now I cannot get past the Sony logo and cannot go into recovery mode (i have tried pressing vol up/down after power off but no avail). I have tried the flashtool but cannot detect USB connection. I was able to turn off by pressing power + volume up and that's all I can do. Please help. Thank you
anyone? please help
Power + volume up until it vibrates.
Then, immediately press volume down and connect to PC (or else it goes in bootloop again) and start Flashtool (you need to flash a clean stock firmware now).
You have to be very very fast!
What was your battery charge percentage when it has happened? Don't let it fully discharge, because you are not able to recharge it anymore until you can flash a kernel again. Be careful

I usually get to recovery by powering off, then power on, as soon as you see the LED come on, tap vol up a few times. Have you tried that.

Open Flashtool and flash a proper FTF stock firmware, when it asks to connect the device, press power and volume-up, and soon after vibrating, connect with volume-down pressed.
It should work...

I was able to connect my phone but say 'the phone is locked'.
Guess I have no other choice but to unlock the bootloader now. ?

No that is just weird. Flashtool allows flashing of ftf on locked or unlocked bootloader. Find a proper generic ftf and flash it.

It won't go into fastboot. But flashmode yes definitely. First set up flashtool for flashing. And when the prompt comes to connect your phone, connect your phone in flashmode then

+1. If it does not boot into recovery/fastboot, flashmode should be still available. Are you using correct drivers, flashtool, firmware?

It's normal. If it's locked, Flashtool says that it's locked.
It's reading your status, it's not a request.
We all are telling you the same thing, so trust us and follow our instructions with patience.
You don't need to unlock at all.
Don't let it discharge completely or you'll get really in trouble!
Thanks for all your help. However, I was so desperate I just went to unlock the bootloader Now i am able to enjoy my phone again. Downside is drm keys are lost and my all my images are now crap.
Would there be any chance to recover my drm keys? Thanks again for your help!

If you've never made a TA-backup after rooting, then they are lost forever... no way to get them back.

This is why almost every walk through says the first thing you should do is backup your keys to a safe place after rooting. (do not pass go, do not collect $200) The unlocking process specifically overwrites them as the first step. I think the only way to get keys "back" is to pay to have the system board replaced in the phone by Sony with one with new keys. $$$

You can try this to restore the functions lost with no DRM keys http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/xperia-z1-z2-z3-series-devices-drm-t2930672

Yes, true.
Anyway, it's easier to sell the unlocked device to someone who doesn't care about it at a low price, add some money and re-buy a locked one

True, but it restores only some functions, but it helps for sure :good:

Actually I had a backup. But I forgot to "backup" my backup files before I surrendered my laptop to my employer. Sucks to be me.
