Guys - I'm back from swype to using the native keyboard on stock ROM. When you start typing, it makes a vibrate sound but I can't find the setting to turn this off. Can anybody help?
Thx
Hold the "comma" button (left of space) and then swipe towards the top, the select "android keyboard settings" , you'll find everything in there

I think...sensativity is based on main system setting. However you can disable "Vibration on Keypress" in the keyboard options.
To access the options:
1. Bring up the keyboard
2. Press the button with the "blue swype icon"
3. Select options
4. Deselct "Vibrate on keypress"

samsung keyboard, not swype ..<

In that case I would return to your original idea of system settings.

i need the feedback so i know i pressed the capacitive buttons though, this is blasphemy
I looked for this too. I dont think there is a setting in the samsung keyboard to turn off the vibration. I have several other keyboards installed and they all have that option. This is why I dont use the samsung keyboard. Mostly use the Droid X multitouch keyboard.
Hey everyone, I was using CM9/10 and I was absolutely in love with this option! It lets you move the typing cursor using the volume buttons. Unfortunately, I'm now using the official TW 4.0.4 ROM and it doesn't have that option. I really like the official 5 row Samsung Keyboard. The only thing that is missing for me is this option. Is there any way I can add it?
I found JellyBean Keyboard in the Play Store but it doesn't have 5 rows. I'm looking for a keyboard that has 5 rows and this option.
Also, not sure if I should open another thread or not, but there's another option that's really nice. The Expandable Volume Panel. A small button shows up when you increase/decrease the volume that expands the panel and enables you to control the volume of media, notifications, system sounds and ringer.
Those two options would make TW nearly perfect for me! I'd really appreciate it if anyone knows any program/mod that can do them. Thanks!
Edit: found an app called Volumizer. It's close to what I want but it doesn't have a shortcut on the notifications bar or anything. I have to open it manually from the applications menu or from the shortcut I created on the home screen every time I want to change the volume. It would have been perfect if it could be tied to the volume rocker.
Bump..

Hi
I need to change keyboards not fast... instantly. I have a handwriting IME and a normal [Japanese] keyboard that I regularly need one or the other. The process of lowering the bar, tapping the keyboard and then switching is too cumbersome.
So I was thinking... how useless the S-Pen button is in the current state (for me at least). I don't use any of it's "commands", nor to open the S-Memo or anything. Can it be assigned to something else? It would be great that it could be used to change the keyboard. Like, if I push the button while clicking a text box, it would open the handwriting IME. And if I just click the text box without the button, it opens up the regular keyboard.
Is there any app or any way to do this?
Otherwise, is there something (aside the S-Pen button) that can help in "instant switching" the keyboard?
Multi-ling keyboard will probably solve that keyboard issu, but it's a no for changing the button function.
Hi,
Isn't there an option in Samsung Keyboard which will automatically open handwriting pad is s pen is used?

Re: [Q] S-Pen button... is it "re-assignable"? (for instant keyboard switch)
There is but for some reason it doesn't work on mine. Not only that, but the T with pen button is greyed out on the keyboard.

Hi there,
I recently found that my chinese handwriting keyboard is grayed up and I can't load the keyboard to do handwritings....
Are there anyway to fix it?
Thank you!

It is actually still available even if you can't click the box - I have the same problem.
When you are in a typing area, pull down the notification bar and select the icon for "Select input method"
You should be able to still choose DioPen Chinese IME
It seems to default to an English keyboard, but don't worry - select the gear icon which is on the lowest line of the keyboard - second key from left.
Switch to handwriting box.
Then on the bar the comes up - select the "Ab" button - the button next to the space bar.
Choose "all" or "stroke"
Voila! You should now be able to write in Chinese again. Unfortunately, mine only does simplified... Sigh!
Thanks, it is working now
