How to fix "Unfortunately Setup Wizard Has Stopped" Without Losing Data!!! - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Open settings --> Apps --> Tap the three dot menu in the top right --> Tap "Show system" --> Scroll down and tap "Setup Wizard" (If you're on Cm not the one with the icon) --> Tap "Force stop" to temporarily disable popups in settings --> Tap permissions --> Turn on permissions for "Contacts" and "Phone" --> Hit the home button --> Profit.

Good find and very useful having just had this problem myself! Thanks.

Another Issue with Package Installer
After lots of patience i made it to the System Apps and down to Setup Wizard, but when i click on the 3 dots, the screen flashes black...goes back to the apps list.... and gives a popup 'Unfortunately Package Installer has Stopped'.
I also cannot get there from system permissions.

[Q] "Connecting to DM server..."

Any clue as to what "Connecting to DM server..." actually is, how do you stop it from saying that, and finally, how do you get rid of the 2 little arrows on the top of the screen, that are the result of that "Connecting..."?? Thanks!!
If you enter Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Menu button > Filter > Tap ALL > You will see Device Management.
This app checks for firmware updates from AT&T.
Also in the Applications setting menu you have Running Services. You may tap to close the Device Management service.
You can also use a startup manager to stop Device Management from auto-starting.
Also, you can root the device and use Titanium Backup to completely uninstall it. However you'll lose the ability to update Over the Air.

[Tutorial] How to Disable S Planner (correctly)

Dear fellow xda members,
You might have noticed, it is impossible to use the "turn off" option for S planner, therefore one has to find a way to instal another calendar app without the annoying double reminders/ double notifications effect. I came across this problem and found a simple workaround that doesn't require root.
Here's how :
1- Open S planner
2- Hit the upper right corner (options) and go to calendars
3- Un-tick all the calendars
4- Hit setting and disable all reminders and notifications
5- Go to Settings/app settings/all and find the 2 "S Planner" entries
6- For first S Planner entry hit "force close", "turn off" and "clear data"
7- For the second entry hit "force close" and "clear data" (unfortunately there is no possibility to turn this one off)
8- Instal Google Calendar from the Maket or any other calendar app and voila !
I like S planner but I had to stop using it because there is no way to activate an auto reminder setting. So if you forget to set it manual when you create your event, it won't be reminded to you in advance. I know Google Calendar and MIUI calendar have this option.

Hope this helped
There is a problem with your step 7.
If you hit "clear data" then all the settings for the app will be reset, which means the "untick all calendars" in step 3 and notifications setting in step 4...everything will be back to normal ...so its useless to do "clear data"..
Even if you do just force stop in step 7, and when you install google calendar the splanner will trigger and continue to run in background(and will import all the calendars again) but will not disturb you if you disabled the notifications in the app...So technically its still running in the background as google calendar....only thing is its not notifying you if you have disabled that setting.....

Huawei P9- scren overlay settings- whatsapp permission- nth I found works!

Hi.
I have Huawei P9 and am struggling to add my contacts on WhatsApp.
I saw go WhatsAppp-> Contacts-> I get a notification ' To help you message friends allow Whatsapp access to your contacts. Tap Settings-permission, and turn Contact On; so I press SETTINGS-> Permissions, it states 'no permission granted', press on Permissions -> give me options of Camera, Contact, Image, Microphone,Sms etc-> whichever I select let;s say Contacts, it gives me a notification ' Screen overlay detected, to change this permission setting you need to turn off the screen overlay settings.Apps-. It gives me the option to Open Settings, where I turn the Draw over the other apps OFF ( it does not show WhatsApp here any way) and then there is nth else to do.
I have turned the Draw over other settings On and OFF, restarted it but I just go in circles.
Anyone can help?

This is a known issue with marshmallow roms.
It occurs due to some filter apps such as cf lumen, twilight, and lately this has been happening for me with floatify.
So I would suggest to disable any such apps and try again.

G6: Simple software bug - only on my phone?

Hello. I have a small software bug (Motorola G6).
When I long press on the home screen --> settings --> icon badging --> the phone enters notifications.
Upon entering the menu the second menu option "Allow notification dots" blinks twice (or better explained, gets highlighted twice)
Does your phone also have that blinking of the second menu option?
icon badging?
I don't have anything like that, the only thing to do with icons for me is called change icon shape.
though when i do enter the notification dots menu the allow notification dots option does blink twice.
Yes, it is the notification dots option that blinks twice. Then it is not just my phone.
It does not do so when I enter it via the usual settings --> Apps & Notifications --> Notifications.
It's weird, that the option on your phone isn't called icon badging. It is so on mine when I switch from German to English UK. It's the third option from the top anyways. In German "Logosymbole".

Delay notification Whatsapp

Hello
I have issue with my Whatsapp about not reviving messages till i open it and below steps I found and I did but still not fix yet
You need to check whether your Whatsapp is always running or not, follow below steps
Settings --> Apps & Notifications --> Whatsapp --> Memory
You need to make sure that your battery optimizer is not killing Whatsapp.
Settings --> Apps & Notifications --> Whatsapp --> Battery --> Battery Optimization
Add Whatsapp to the "not optimized" list, if not already present.
Settings --> Apps & Notifications --> Whatsapp --> Battery --> Background Restriction
The setting should be "App can use battery in background"
You need to make sure Whatsapp can access data all the time, try to just turn on "Background data", if your Whatsapp is still not working properly try to check "Unrestricted data access" as well.
Settings --> Apps & Notifications --> Whatsapp --> Data Usage
You need to make sure Whatsapp is allowed to auto start, go to the setting as mentioned below and select Whatsapp in order for it to auto start.
Settings --> Battery --> PowerMaster--> Auto-start manager
any other solutions please.
Thanks in advance
