Tasker send intents to the Moto app? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if it would be possible to use tasker to send intents to activate certain moto features during more refined contexts. Like have the command talk to me executed to turn on "talk to me" or sleeping mode etc.

Google Assistant

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if there is a way for Google Assistant (on Android phone) to execute a Tasker Task? (non rooted)
Thanks in advance.
Use AutoVoice. Set up a shortcut in Assistant to trigger AutoVoice, then an AutoVoice command in Tasker to execute the task.
How to make Google Now/Assistant execute Tasker tasks (using Autovoice)
Open Google app
>Settings>Google Assistant Settings>Shortcuts
Add Shortcut (ex. System lock)
°When I say…
system lock
°Google Assistant should do…
ask autovoice system lock
Note: the phrase “ask autovoice” sends a command to Autovoice - command: system lock
Open Tasker
Add Profile: State>Plugin>Autovoice>Recognized
Edit Properties
Edit Configuration: The easy way.
Command: system lock
Edit Configuration: The hard way.
Command/Command Filter: system lock
(Enable/Check) Event Behavior
(Enable/Check) Use RegEx
>Back
>Finish
Add Task for the Profile you created
(Any)

Yes, I have several IFTTT applets which do this using their Google Assistant channel which send a Pushover(Tasker plugin) push to Tasker and trigger a profile.
Commandr for Google Now can run any Tasker Task with a voice shortcut.

what can tasker do for you?

Tasker can do a multitude of things to your phone, and it has done this for me over the years. Even before Android had automatic rules for Do Not Disturb, Tasker ensured my phone wouldn't disturb me while I got my beauty sleep. At show time, Tasker would set my phone to silent, ensuring my Fantasmic ring tone didn't blare out in a live broadcast. When I was getting in the car, Tasker recognized the Bluetooth head unit and executed a task that would turn off my Wi-Fi and turn on my music.
Before Google Assistant put so many commands at my fingertips, Tasker and AutoVoice — a third-party plugin that allows users to program specific voice commands for our tasks — combined to give me vital hands-free commands, and when it combined with Moto Voice on my Moto X, it felt like actual magic.
The Tasker use that keeps me around, however, is my Tasker + Google Play Music alarm clock. This alarm profile and task brings back the convenience and nostalgia of my old CD and iPod alarm clocks, turning back on my current Google Play Music queue rather than playing the old song or alarm tone day after day after day.

Autovoice not triggering Tasker Task.

I'll preface this with I'm a complete newb when it comes to Tasker and plug ins. With that said, I'm attempting to create a task that can be triggered by my google home to cast a web url camera stream to my Shield. I've been able to create the Tasker Task to stream it using AutoCast to the shield. If I run that task manually inside Tasker, it works everytime. However, I'm unable to get Autovoice to trigger that Task. I've created a profile, (New, Event, Plugin, AutoVoice, Recognized) configured the commands in autovoice and linked it to the task in Tasker. For whatever reason, anytime I ask Google Assistant to "Ask autovoice (command name)", I get an autovoice response, "Command sent (command name)" but I never see a toast message on my Note 8, where I've configured everything, and the task is never ran. I'm assuming I'm missing something in the autovoice configuration. Can anyone shine some light on what I may be doing wrong? I appreciate any assistance I can get. Also, if I left out any pertinent information, please let me know.
Also, if I test the command from inside the autovoice app, I do get the toast message and the task triggers. To my untrained eye, it definitely seems like google assistant just isn't communicating with autovoice, in the way it should be.
I was able to get this working. My issue was, I did not have a remote device selected to run the autovoice commands. Once I selected that, I was able to get this working. Just updating in case someone stumbles upon this in the future.

Autovoice and Assistant

Hi guys, when I try to send an autovoice command through the normal 'ask autovoice to...', the command is executed and then autovoice stay in wait for others commands.
The problem happens when I try to send command with a shortcut of Google assistant... Only receiving the response 'command sended' and then autovoice left the conversation...
Ok you need to have an Autovoice Profile in place to react to the Google Assistant message. In Google assistant (Short cut) Ask Autovoice to...... In Tasker, Create a profile with a AutoVoice Recognised Event listening for the short cut text, I've noticed in the past that it helps to use exactly the same case etc. This will then link to a Tasker 'Task' to actually perform what you want it to do.

Could that method be used to ask autovoice to trigger the news briefing of google assistant? I wold like to replace google assistant but do not want to lose my news..
Hi, If you can create a tasker event that will open your news feed, then I don't see why not.
