Flashed recovery on DATAFS partition - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed the recovery img on DATAFS partition instead of Kernel2 using heimdall and now I do not have internal storage!
What is the solution?
I think I need a generic userdata.img to flash back to DATAFS, where can I get this from?
Thanks
Phone: GT-i8190
p.s. already tried ODIN to flash stock and re-partition using PIT file but that has not helped.

I think that I can do a full userdata "/data" partition backup from TWRP and upload it.
It will be of CM 12.1 by Maclaw, just for reference.
Answer if you want it, cause it takes some nice time to upload.

flash another recovery hmm like rz recovery 2.1.4
Hi
Go and flash a stock 2.3.6 ROM from Samfrimware.com using odin after you get pass sign from odin if you get boot loop clear data an cache from recovery and reboot if you get boot loop flash the file that is same to your ROM with Odin from here like if you downloaded gt-s5570 jpkt2 then the jpkt2 PDA file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398797
And partion your SD card to ext4 to be your new data partion and the secondary partion that you must fat if you have a 2gb SD or smaller and if you have 4gb SD or larger select fat32 and the two partions must be primary then pot your SD in the phone and reboot this will make the phone mount the ext4 partion as your phones data partion so if there are a problem with the phones data partion it will make the work again

Help!!!! n7000 stuck at logo screen

Please help with this issue.
My Note n7000 now stuck at "Galaxy Note GT-N7000" screen, sometime it reboots and stays in a bootloop, sometime, it just stuck at the logo screen.
I can get into both recovery and download mode with no problem, I can flash stock roms with no problems, does NOT stuck at factoryfs.img
I have tried to flash to stock GB rom then wipe then reboot, still the same thing. I have read that what i have is the symptom of soft brick, however, i have tried all the solutions for soft brick, still no go...
Do I have to do the pit file thing? Where can i download the files?

Hi Bud,
First of all, you need to calm down.
Okay, I think your phone isn't that worse at all. Listen, all you have to do is flash back to stock pre-rooted GB (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997, courtesy of Doc Ketan), look for the stock GB ones in there and after you've downloaded it, Boot your phone to download mode and flash the stock GB using PC Odin.
I'm sure your Note is just fine bud. Once your in stock GB. You can work your way around already to upgrade back to stock ICS and install/flash a safe ICS kernel after (e.g. SpeedMod, HydraCore and etc)

Should try the emmc scanner from hg42 to see if there are problem with the emmc damage or not, then you can be clearer about what need to be done to revive the phone.

That sound like it freezes already, since it should only take less than 10 minutes.
Should try to restart phone and then use the "emmc_scan_all_partitions_once.zip" so as to identify if and which partition have problem.

CWM Restore

Hello!
I have installed Cocore kernell (8.2 and 8.6.4) a few times in my stock JB rom (LQL) but when I install CM 10.2 and if i need to go back to my stock rom i tried to restore my backup made it with the CWM that comes with cocore, it's pass without problems but when the rom start, stop a lot of process making impossible to work in it, and start in configuration wizard
someone have the same problem, there is a way to fix it?
Thanks in advance guys!!!
If you are on Android 4.3 after restoring your backup you need to reboot to recovery (recovery will change as you are on Cocore kernel) and then => format preload, then reboot, should work fine

Format /preload as ext4
download the cocore TWRP kernel, install it, (re-)reboot to recovery, go to advanced (on TWRP, yes, it needs to be TWRP), terminal command, press enter (to select the directory to work from, which should be "/"), and run
make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p9
(DANGER: IF YOU FORMAT WHATEVER ELSE IT MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE, just check that our /dev/block/mmcblk0p9 is 0p9 at the end, it CAN'T BE ANYTHING ELSE.)
Then, go back and onto mount menu, and mount /preload partition. And then just install whatever ROM you want.
I am saying this because re-installing the stock ROM from ODIN can be dangerous if the power it's cut out or the USB is suddenly disconnected. Just format preload partition (there is nothing critical there, so it's safe, or safer than ODIN that's it)

Yes, since some version of CM10.2 TeamJanice uses preload partition for swap. So it must be formated, if that do not work - flash stock JB.

Then the steps to back to stock rom would be:
1-recovery (cwm)
2-format preload
3 restore stock
?????

You can go back like that, or you can flash stock fb, root, install cocore and restore your backup (if you want to go back to your backup).

Bricked my phone. need cache.img for canvas a1

Hello guys, i ve been using this android one phone for a while now. and i ve done some kinky stuffs with for over 2 years now. yesterday while flashing new rom through philz recovery, i was wiping my cache and it stopped all of a sudden. The device just displayed the following command in the recovery<<attached screenshot image >> and no matter what i do, i was unable to perform any of the operations like wiping data, factory reset, or flash the rom. I was using marshmallow before.
so in a nexus thread i kinda found a fix for that. <<link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/help-nexus-5-bricked-clearing-cache-t2564509 >>.
so according to this thread if flash cache.img from the fastboot mode i can revive my phone.
Tell me guys, am i going in the right direction here, is it fixable, hope to hear from u guys soon. Thank you
please specify which rom were you using before you messed up your phone so that someone may be able to figure out your problem more easily.
will upload cache.img if I could.....
Try
fastboot format cache
If this doesn't work then
fastboot format userdata
fastboot format cache
I had same problem.
This solved it.

Use TWRP recovery created by 1cefire . and go to file manager and check if your cache partition is intact . You don't need cache.img . As the partition layout will be the same as it did before . or search for androidxda.com from google . Canvas a1's stock firmware should be there .

[Q][Helprequest]repartitioning gone wrong?

I followed the steps in Neo's thread about repartitioning and ended up in sh** where I can not see sdcard0 (internal memory) and phone says there is no micro sd card inserted even though it is.
I tried with terminal commands to fix storage permissions, but it doesn't allow me anything as it says files are read only.
I flashed the uninstaller as well which says it should help and did not help.
Any other ideas? :/

Thank you very much for answer, almost gave up on the phone pretty much.
Twrp is 2.8.xxx something (one supplied with Neo's rom), I tried with 3.0 did not help. Tried with Clockworkmod didnt help either.
I will search for AdrianDC TWRP and give it a go.
Cm13 I tried but did not want to apply the storage change because it could not find "system" partition, (almost bricked it I guess) but I managed to fix that with stock rom, and could later reflash cm 12.1
But I will try flashing CM13 again, and come back with info in case you will be able to give some input again!
Thanks for now!

Cheers for links, Tried with CM13, no success like before getting error when flashing the zip:
"sdcard could not be mounted (ext4/exfat ?) please verify your partition file system
You are agreeing to format your SDCard

so doesnt let me flash 13.
And to repair the partitions I guess I just try the TWRP and under advance the repair option right?

Done and done, but I basically ended up on the same spot where it said unable to mount /system + previous error about sdcard
and now can not flash anything anymore (so have to flash official rom again to start up my phone)
Maybe im doing something wrong with flashing, but i doubt it. (flashtool64 is which im using) fastboot, and under the option of select kernel to flash.
then rest is done in recovery anyway with installing, right?
At the moment I am installing official rom, so I can start over with flashing twrp, rebooting, then flashing cm13
One thing I learned to always backup working system before doing anything!

I'm sorry to hear that.
Once stock rom is on it, try to flash neos kernel and then boot into recovery. In there flash Adriandc's twrp (the zip file).
After that reboot and try to flash cm13. If this still doesn't work you could try Adriandc's files for repartitioning. He did some awesome work.
I'm on my phone right now so I'll keep it short, if you need further assistance I'll try to help you as soon as i get to my PC

After that reboot and try to flash cm13. If this still doesn't work you could try Adriandc's files for repartitioning. He did some awesome work.
I'm on my phone right now so I'll keep it short, if you need further assistance I'll try to help you as soon as i get to my PC

Thanks!
Tried exactly like that, same error when trying to flash cm13 :"Updater process ended with ERROR:7
Error installing zip file ".zip"
I guess I ruined something really bad when trying to repartion following neo's guide, (twrp says about partitions this:
- Internal storage: (1812mb)
- Legacy SDCard (0mb)
- Micro SDCard (7488mb)
-USB OTG (0mb)
If you have any more suggestions I can try, otherwise we can give up! feels like nothing would work, though much love for taking your time trying to help me! <3

It doesn't look that bad at all. Which version of TWRP is currently on your phone? (also the build date)
It looks like basketbuild is down right now, but once it's back up again you could try this zip:
https://basketbuild.com/devs/AdrianDC/CyanogenMod/XperiaBlue
it will repartition your phone to it's original partition table

Oh that sounds exactly what I would need yea!
At the moment I reflashed cm12.1 (neo's) which installs 2.8.6.x twrp. Build date was january i think. (phone is booting up still)
I will try this zip as soon as basketbuild is up and will let you know what happens. (I guess i just reboot into twrp and flash the zip)?

Yeah, boot into TWRP, flash a new TWRP (I think it was 20th july or newer), then reboot straight into recovery again and flash the restore_sd zip
My phone booted up now with the 12.1, and there is internal memory back, 11gb out of 11gb free, accessable, and everything.. No idea what caused it to appear again but something what you said basically helped me and restored it back to original.
So thank you a lot! I kinda want to try and repartition it again to have more space for apps, but im afraid ill just blow it again.
You think I should try installing cm13 now as storage looks normal again?

I'm really glad you managed to restore it! Mint is still a great device.
Yeah, but CM13 will repartition your phone again (automatically). It will warn you once that all data will be lost, on second attempt it will flash just fine.
Good luck
