S-On - T-Mobile HTC One (M9)

My HTC One M9 is rooted and running CM13 nightlies. Three days ago, it could no longer install the nightlies. They would fail in TWRP. I tried to flash a newer version of TWRP but now cannot boot to recovery at all. I swear it used to say S-OFF in bootloader but now says S-ON. Is that the problem? Any ideas how I can fix it? I tried SunShine but it says I have to flash a more stock ROM for it to work. How can I do this if I can't boot to recovery mode?

[Q] Phone would not boot

Ok here is the deal
I had untouched HTC One
I flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823 according to guides. Then my wifi and storages stoped working.
So I tried flashing a custom rom: got boot unlocked, got custom recovery, flashed a rom, and it wouldnt boot: the HTC logo on white background and wont go past it, left it all night.
Then i though i'll just go to stock rom before the update. Now i have this:
S-on with hboot 1.54 so i cant get s-off, os 2.24.401.1 that wont boot, and relocked hboot.
Any ideas?

first unlock your bootloader again through fastboot.
can you access your custom recovery? if yes, "adb sideload" one of mike's stockroms through recovery. guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317986
then it should work again

[SOLVED] Bootloader Bootlopp soft brick on Viper 5.8.0 and other ROMS

Solved here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51693017&postcount=14
I have this setup so far:
S-OFF Hboot 1.56 through Firewater.
Firmware 4.06.651.4
Unlocked bootloader, TWRP 2.7 and older versions I tried, as well as PhilzTouch (this one works better)
I can only recover from the brick by installing a rooted odex STOCK 4.06.651.4 ROM through PhilzTouch which let's me OTG, ADB sideload, and fastboot (TWRP only lets me adb sideload, but can't mount OTG or /data sometimes)
I think I need to install the stock ROM with a stock recovery in order to do it properly. Haven't tried yet, scared to mess up more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I started off clean, unlocked bootlader, rooted , and flashed custom recovery with TWRP (root sometimes lost, have to flash SuperSU.zip manually sometimes).
Then I got S-OFF through Firewater.
Checked, and double checked MD5 matches, a good quality USB cable 2.0, different formatted clean PC and laptop to rule any of that out..
With a clean/nice ADB/fastboot connection, I proceeded to install ViperOne 5.8.0 | 4.19.401.11 | Android 4.4.2 Sense 5.5 through TWRP as per instructed in its official post (it redirects here from the HTC One Sprint thread)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334294
It installs fine until the last Finish option to reboot into the first ROM boot up, and it never gets inside, it just bootloops the bootloader forever.
--------------------------------
Possible thought I still don't understand:
In the Viper ROM there seems to be a firmware version in the tittle: 4.19.401.11...
Does that version have anything to do with mine? Currently 4.06.651.4, with an annoying update prommpt to 4.06.651.9 that downloads, bu never installs (possibly need stock recovery for that)
Is Any ROM firmware specific in order to install? I read that the latest TWRP had issues so I tried many older version to no avail...
Do I need to go back to an earlier firmware, and then update to the latest with the radio as well?
What am I doing wrong?
I would suggest running the 4.06.651.4 RUU and starting fresh. I know it sucks but...
From there you can take the OTA if you want to...then you will be current.
Then you can unlock and flash recovery again.

Help with S-OFF issues

Sprint HTC One on 1.57 HBOOT having very serious issues, cannot boot properly (reboots after booting to lockscreen), can boot into fastboot and have flashed TWRP recovery. Tried to install several ROMs, only CM11 boots past lockscreen but still random hanging and rebooting. My question is if it is p[ossible to S-OFF so I can flash firmware to see if it can fix the issues I'm having with the phone? If Sunshine is the only way then I'm stuck because I can't operate the phone past lockscreen without the phone rebooting. If there is any other way, please can anyone kindly point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Which version of TWRP are you running? I would say you need at least a 2.7 version, if not 2.8. Then I would download a stock, rooted ROM like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50561404&postcount=2 Note that is NOT an RUU (which will try to change your firmware), but just a stock rooted ROM. You are rooted, right? Of course do a factory reset in TWRP before flashing; it will not erase your sd card storage. Assuming you get the ROM installed, then you can download Sunshine and run it. Sunshine requires a stock (or VERY close) anyway, so you'll be in perfect shape for that. Once you get s-off, you can run amuck

Problems with updating CM12

I believe the root problem of this may be using TWRP manager to update recovery, because it happens after I attempt to do that. It asks if /dev/block/mmcblk0p43 is the correct partition, which i believe it is, and attempts to flash it. Once it attempts, it says it is failed, but when I reboot into recovery it is the updated version of TWRP. I think it may be messing up my partitions somehow.
The problem is, I RUU'd last night with the official Sprint exe, and all was fine. Rooted, installed recovery and flashed the latest of CM12. Get it up and running, go about re installing all my apps, and use TWRP manager to update the recovery. Today the new nightly has some M8 specific updates to it, so I decided to flash it. I flash in recovery, get no errors, but once I reboot it stays stuck at the white HTC screen where they threaten to send you into poverty for misusing their software.
Does anyone have any input on how to correct this issue, outside of RUU'ing again?

S-on or S-off? If S-on you have to flash the kernel separately from the ROM.

I've been s-off'd since day one, and I just booted into bootloader and double checked, still s-off.
I did however this morning flash the Blissful kernel and it booted, and noticed your comment when I came to update. It's very strange that it needed the kernel flashed.

Installing TWRP Recovery...

Hello,
This is a really weird situation I have with my phone. Recently my phone got ran over and just had new whole front (Screen) replaced. Before the indecent I could flash ANY ROM, ANY RECOVERY!!
but since I've had my phone fixed I can't install certain custom ROMS or Recoverys? My phone will only allow TWRP 2.6.3.3 why won't it let me install any latest recovery?
My Handset:
- HTC One
- TWRP Recovery 2.6.3.3
- ROOTED
- S-OFF
It's really strange.
i have kind of a similar problem.
i gave my m7 to a vodafone store to get my display repaired. they sent the phone to HTC. When i got it back, the screen was fixed, but a stock rom was installed on it including stock recovery and a locked bootloader. I still had s-off though.
I reopened the Bootloader, but for some reason i was not able to install custom recoveries at all (well i only tried TWRP 2.7.xx and 2.8.xx as well as the latest cwm touch recovery). Cmd on my Windows Pc was telling me that it successfully installed the recovery but everytime i was booting into recovery it booted for some reason to system.
I then ran the prerooted Android 5.0 GPE RUU so i could at least get root acces. But still cannot install custom recoveries :/
seem's to be alot of this about at the moment, im not sure if HTC have somehow put a new block on things like they did with the s-off tools, unfortunatly, currently there is no fix.
Yeah, i've read about similar problems on the AndroidPit-forum and some other german forum.
This freaks me out
