Hello,
few days ago I've got my USB OTG cable. So, when I connected this OTG cable to my USB HUB through USB cable with 2 sides of type A port (pic here : http://www.cyfronika.com.pl/art93/kab120aa-l.jpg) to get power on HUB from USB port charger but nothing happened on phone with flash storage, any notifications or something. Then, when I wanted to transfer some files from my computer to sdcard. I've connected USB cable but Windows 7(32-bit) says that my device can be damaged or something (code 43). I've searched about this and found this http://pcsupport.about.com/od/errorc/a/code-43-error.htm . I've used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21503469 for setting up the OTG and for kernel too.
Well, I've followed this tutorial but the error still appears. Tried on 3 computers with different cables and different USB ports.
So just tell me if it's software problem or I must do something with this.
LOGCAT : http://pastebin.com/gbqqDxay
LOGCAT_radio : http://pastebin.com/H4dU9JWX
dmesg : http://pastebin.com/tkicx7xb
Logs has been taken after USB cable connecting.
Thanks
(bump) can anyone help me?
(bump again)
(bumpin' like a crazy) Please, anyone have solution for this problem?
So the general idea is, you're trying to let your phone connect to other hardware while the phone is the host, right?
Now you're trying to connect your computer to your phone again normally and it's not working? (normal usb cable)
For one, there are a bunch of errors in the log you posted, thinks like
Code:
W/PackageManager( 353): Unknown permission android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER in package hu.sztupy.android.usbhostcontroller
That might be a problem, I don't know. Perhaps you're better off asking the dev of this mod about these errors. Maybe there's something you forgot or wasn't mentioned in your guide that causes these?
Have you also considered the possibility your phone is now *always* trying to be the host (which is not going to be something a pc likes)? You're saying you can't properly connect with your pc any more, but can you connect with another device (usb stick for example)?

Yes, It was the general idea when I've bought OTG cable.

Yes, tried with 2 Nokia cables and one stock from Samsung. Windows is always showing code 43 ;/

Well, I'll try to contact with @sztupy (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468531). Anyways I think I haven't forgotten what I wanted to write.

I've set default settings for USB Host Controller app. But no, I can't connect another device. I'm in half way to download Linux, maybe on it everything will be working properly.
Anyway thanks for your reply, let's see if it will be working on Linux ;f
//EDIT : Same problem on Linux. Device is not recognized.
(bump) Any ideas?

ADDED MORE LOGS.
I've spent lot of time reading and trying different ways to unbrick my moto X xt1052, I can't even remember how I got it bricked, but I think it was when trying to update Cyanogenmod to Lollipop. Anyway, at this point the device is detected by computer for couple of seconds as a HID device and get disconnected.
Please if you have some ideas about what should I try, I would rather pay you instead buying a new main board.
No need to pay anything. We are here to help each other. Try with different USB cables an different USB ports. I do faced same issue with my nexus 4 nd Samsung Galaxy s. It's like a loose connection on port side or the cable sleeves. Give it a try.
Don't forget to install moo drivers, when try on different computer.
Press thanks if helped
Hi, I m an IT guy that has run out of ideas. I would like to ask you some questions about a (probably hardware realted) problem that i have. All started suddenly , from one day to another all usb ports, camera and bluetooth stoped working. I dont really care about the bluetooth and the camera, the only thing i care about are the usb ports. I 've checked them with a multimeter (only the pins that provide power) and the strange thing is that they do provide power. If i connect something like a usb flash drive , the led flashes (stays on , doesnt flickers) but nothing happens. I am sure that's not a drivers problem because the laptop doesnt even recognize them in UEFI nor CSM. My UEFI does not have an option to completely disable usb ports, only to change from usb 2 to 3 (no change at all). I m sure it's now a power problem, i ve reseted the bios even by the motherboard jumper. So the question is , what it may be? is it a motherboard malfuction ? Can it be fixed? Also , is there any possibility that for example the camera is faulty , or the camera cable , and shortcutting something? (i mean if i disconnect the camera and the bluetooth, is there any possibility that it will be fixed? ) thanks in advance.
p.s. also on the motherboard there isnt anything strange like a blown up resistor or something.
laptop - toshiba satellite c50-b-14h
intel celeron n2830
2gb ram
thanks in advance

Though the Forum does not really provide PC/Laptop support unless it's related to the Android type of devices so there's really a limited amount of information regarding them specifically.
With that stated...
The following thread is probably the best place to ask this question.

Hi, phone works OK, it also charges BUT doesn't connect to any PC (windows detects device with description error?), usb OTG not working either, only headphones using type c adapter. Please help, I'm using stock pie with February update, unrooted, blocked bootloader and with usb debugging enabled.
@egantz09
Disable USB Debugging.
Install this driver (and please follow the instructions):
https://c.mi.com/thread-1625831-1-1.html
Test.

Hi, Thanks for the guide, but I can't pass from step 6 in which I need to install the Mi Drivers but no PC recognizes de phone, not even in fastboot mode, see screenshot. Any other ideas? I can still charge it and listen audio trough the usb port. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I've hard reset the phone and the problem still persist.

Thanks for the update.
Go into Step 7, with the device connected, and install the drivers manually.
So, in this scenario, you'll right click on the device and browse to the location where you downloaded the drivers.
I need to know what happens if you try and install them manually.

Hi, I can't actually do step 7 because it doesn't recognizes the phone as an Android device like in the guide, but as an:
Unknown USB Device (Error Device Descriptor Request Failed) see attached screenshot.
Even when I select this Unknown USB Device and tried to update de driver manually, the installation fails. (see attached screenshot) .
I've changed cables and tried on different ports of different PCs. Same result. Also by entering Developer Options and accessing the USB settings won't work, there are all greyed out.
@egantz09
Thank you for your efforts and feedback.
Based on the details, I would strongly suggest you initiate a return. You've taken all the appropriate steps, and then some, to address the problem but it's obvious the issue exists with the device hardware.
I am happy to provide further instructions but what concerns me is the fact you've tried multiple PCs and multiple cables.

---------- Post added at 07:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:21 PM ----------
cant even force edl mode
Sadly I'm still waiting for the replacement to arrive...I'm in Cuba. But other people with similar problems have solved them by replacing the USB port. Good luck.

if you followed all of the instructions and steps in this post and the problem continues, then you should return your phone.
I already changed my USB port. My warranty is void
If your phone was in warranty you should have returned it, changing the USB port was your final option. Now you should take it to a service center. Good luck,

I replaced my usb port today, still no luck, I tried 3 different ports (I bought 3), It charges with all of them but no USB connection to PC or OTG. I'm thinking its the mainboard. Could it possibly be the FLEX connector?
This is a big problem with 2 MI A2 for me
Since that problem i hate Xiaomi and never Xiaomi product to bey
I have the same problem ... My phone only charging when i connected via USB to the PC... I change USB board and i still have the same problem... I can't choose any options.. only charging.. any help how to solve this problem ? Thanks

I waited 3 months for my USB port replacement and it did the same thing, now I'm waiting for the flex connector, if that doesn't work either, then its a problem with the motherboard.
I ended up replacing the entire phone and a few months later this phone now has the same issue.. this is horrible. Especially with no USA support from Xiaomi. Its a "deal with it" situation.
But i believe the use of crappy chargers, debris getting into port, maybe Qualcomm quick charge modules design flaw could be sending unsafe currents or lacking proper temp regulation when charging,, is damaging something on the main board. I checked every possible software related possibility and tried every fix with no luck.
What i did notice when it happened this time, chargers were not staying connected, they would pop out due to debris in the charging port, also i noticed my phone got pretty hot using a Qualcomm QC enabled charger one night. Nothing else was suspected of generating heat, all apps closed, screen had been off.
I everyone... Where i can buy an usb port?? My A2 is not charging, trying at least 4 different cables and chargers,
Tks
Hello does anyone else have a problem with the Mi 11 connecting with a USB? I have the Asus Prime Pro X570 motherboard with mutiple USB ports, 2 usb ports on the front of my Corsair 5000X and every port apart from 2 will only charge the phone. The two usb ports connected to the ethernet rail the phone constantly connects and disconnects and the select file transfer, no action etc on my phone literally flashes and has seizure.
It can't be the cable because it works on other PCs. Also tethering works through USB. It's only when I'm trying to access the phones files?
Hello I Have the same Mainboard with the same problem and what can I say... For me the solution was an other pc to unlock the bootloader and flash a cfw. Then tested on my main pc and still nothing. Then tested my three other USB cables and with two it worked.
I have no idea why that is a thing. Maybe the Mainboard USB problem that had to be patched since 1.2.0.0?

Maybe it's an Asus problem but I brainstormed and was like wtf it's android. If you need to transfer files you can use an ftp client and do it over WiFi, but it still sucks cause I can't flash anything
I had the same problem but after I connected the phone to a 3.0 USB port the problem solved instantly.
