Android M for P7 - Huawei Ascend P7

According to Deutsche Telekom Android M for P7 should already be out of about to drop.
it states:
04.02.2016 Huawei P7 V100R001C150B823 Android M
I've tried to tweet them but no reply as of yet, and I've also checked Hauwei German servers and there's no update on there yet.
Just wondering what does anyone else think about this?
https://telekomhilft.telekom.de/t5/...e-Software-Updates-in-2016/m-p/1636840#M89414

Hmm, all the roumors confirm this a month ago or two, i hope so its true.

I still believe they are talking about a different device, maybe the P8 lite. If they would deliver the updates now, there would have been a beta test before.. Furthermore are all rumors only based on statements of German Telekom, there's no other source. So, I'd say the chances of this being real are minimal.

Android m is out for p8 lite, its b525, so i dobt think so, they cant make same mistake twice

An amazing news, but we need to be patient…

B823 is 5.1.1

New GPS ROM in german

Does anyone know, if the new ROM is available in german language?
At least you should have added a question mark to your thread name!
Everyone who reads that statement thinks, that this thread contains information about a new german gps rom.
And there are not few people yearning for that rom...
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr damn :/
i'm waiting, too...
I think, a german rom will may be released, when the Vodafone starts selling its "Vodafone VPA Compact GPS" .
"Vodafone will das VPA compact GPS Mitte Februar 2007 zum Preis von 299,90 Euro anbieten. Dieser Preis gilt bei Abschluss eines 24-Monatsvertrags im Tarif Vodafone 200 in Verbindung mit einer Datentarifoption. Das Smartphone ist baugleich mit dem von HTC gefertigten P3600 und kostet ohne Vodafone-Branding ohne Vertrag 599,- Euro." (http://golem.de/0702/50594.html)
The text above says, that Vodafone starts selling in the middle of February.
So, may be in a few weeks.
Keep waiting...
and use the dopod rom. It works great. ;-)
This is mainly due to the fact that I’m still waiting for the German firmware.......
edit: The VPA compact GPS can be ordered in http://www.vodafoneshop.de/shop/detail/index.cfm?Artikel_Daten_ID=3576&B_ID=524 from now on !!
Hope anybody has a very good friend at Vodafone.de to get in touch with the new Vodafone GPS enabled ROM.
The new ROM is NOT downloadable at the moment - http://www.vodafone.de/business/support_download/59345.html

hmm someone has to go to a vodafone shop with his/her's notebook to rip that rom
yea I wonder wich rom it has?
i asked a friend. he's working in a vodafone-shop. the problem is, the device is not availible there. vodafone starts selling it online. my friend has ordered one, but theres no delivery-date.
Hey,
I asked the guys from HTC when they will offer the ROM update since Vodafone (DE) starts selling the P3600 with GPS enabled. This is what they replied:
"Good Afternoon,
The HTC P3600 currently does not offer GPS Functionality. While we are aware that some other derivatives of the P3600 may have already released this update, HTC has not yet set a date on the final release of the ROM update, as other updates are being included in the release.
Please continue to check the www.europe.htc.com support section for an update section, which is to be included once ROM updates have been released.
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/cs_by_phone.html
Best regards,
Jon Thompson"
Keep moving HTC - we're waiting...
"as other updates are being included in the release"
i like the sound of that!
but I don't need these unkown updates. I just want gps nothing else.
Looks like there is progress: Robil, a fellow board-member, dumped a german language ROM with GPS support. Obviously its not in any flashable state but maybe someone could cook a german ROM from it.
The rom wasn't taken from a Vodafone Compact GPS but from a XPA v1510. But since they are hardware wise identical (both HTC P3600's) it shouldn't make a difference.
Somebody from dangaard.ch told me that a ROM update will be available by end of march.
keep waiting!

No, LG europe still says Q2. These are old 'news', as far as I remember LG India has announced first the delay, but LG europe is independent and insists on Q2...
Well, I wouldn't take any estimates relating to the release time seriously, since LG Europe has claimed that ICS release for Europe will still be 2nd quarter, independent of what other branches might do.
I don't believe anything before the actual files aren't released. Best not get your hopes up after all we have come to know about LG and update policies.
This is the Dev section, please continue the discussion in the official ICS thread.

I like the phone's hardware (except the screen's touch sensitivity) but this confirms I was right to order the Samsung Galaxy S3...
It's not LG's release of ICS which is important, it's more the source code itself to let XDA developer's genius go on

LG releasing source code is not the biggest problem - it's nVidia.
Before the speculations go on, someone from android-hilfe.de did write to LG customer service and got this reply (see english version far below ;-) ):
"Sehr geehrter Kunde,

@TheSSJ - it would be nice to get a confirmation this month about this. But yet again if its late of June or the start of July it really doesn't make any difference. If they are planning to release it in the late of September...
Waiting from the LG guys to announce - "This Christmas ... LG is proud to present the ICS for Optimus 2x" )

Unfortunately,it's because of both of them. HTC already released the source codes of it's tegra 3 CPU.
Asus published the source codes of the other tegra 2 but LG doesn't give us their source codes..
one and a half months till the 2nd quarter is finished, so they have 45 days to release it... i seriously doubt they will release it soon... taking into consideration the time they needed to release gb (aprox. 1 year) i only see them releasing ICS late september / october...
I choose to not fret over this ICS upgrade thing and just enjoy my phone as is... A 1 year old dual-core Cyanogenmod 7 device that still kicks butt.
First off, this belongs in General. Second, it has a thread already, so this one will be locked.

[EMUI 5.0] Android Nougat for P8 lite

Hi guys  ,
This is a new discussion of the nougat update dedicated for p8 lite.
Here you can write all of emui 5.0 and news for the future update of p8 lite.
What do you think about it?
Did they announce 7.0 for p8 lite?
Does anyone really think that we will receive the update? Huawei is no longer profiting from this phone, and sadly, that's how this works, from a business perspective, they can't update it to Android Nougat because that won't bring them money, they are working on the P9, the Honor 8 and other new devices (I don't remember how those are called)

That's what I was thinking. There is no info at all on the Internet. I imagined the OP had more info on this.
I think they might update the phone to show others how good is Huawei because they support old phones and even lite version for 2y+.
Theoretically they said they would give updates to phones made two years ago or less. And since the p8lite is from May 2015 I think, we theoretically should receive the new update. However we might not receive it, and personally I dont think we will. What we CAN do is if we dont get the update, massively spam huawei's social media pages lol.

From some sources i heard something like huawei will givin' update all Phone by 2 years after they were released. So, we still have more than 6months to get an answer for this... check this one

It's so ****ing hard to think ?! Maybe they will release more updates for this phone but insignificant...little updates for the 6.0. I'm sure we will never get the 7.0 from Huawei.
Huawei isn't going to update this phone. Huawei releases a lot of phone in a year so if they start updating it would take a lot of time. Even if it does we won't get update untill September 2017.
For all this phones are enough developers and enough money, so updates shouldn't be a problem. New phones are no problem, too. It's just possible. EMUI 4.1 will come

Huawei Nova? Honor 5x? Mate 8/9?
China Mobile Version Honor 5A is a new phone that also runs Hisilicon Kirin 620.Maybe it can receive updates. We could give a try to port it.
It's pointless. It's better to have AOSP/Cm than port Huawei rom.

Can be a source for eventuali nougat drivers for Kirin 620 actually
Android 7.1 is really nice on Moto G. App-Shortcuts is a really nice feature. Is that on EMUI 4.1/5.0 too?
The EMUI page on Facebook refers to an event regarding EMUI 5 happening on November 3 in Munich, Germany. https://www.facebook.com/HuaweiEMUI/
That's great. Hope we get it. Otherwise the old Moto G 2013 beat the newer P8 Lite
i dunno, but updating from Lollipop to MM was an big mistake, so should updating to nougat (if it comes) be better ??

Android O(reo)

Does anyone have an idea when the Android Oreo will be available to the VTR-L09?
Thanks
As google said, it arrives by the end of 2017. So, be patient, it can't be rolled out before 2018, I think. January, February 2018 maybe. (December would be great, but I do not think so)
Gesendet von meinem VTR-L09 mit Tapatalk
With Huaweis update handling it wouldn't come until Q1 2018 even though Oreo was released yesterday. And I hope they make an EMUI 6.0 with new improvements and 3rd party app support.
Android Oreo (8.0) is rolling out in phases across Pixel & Nexus handsets this month at some point.
Looking at how long it has taken carriers to update Huawei handsets so far, I don't think we will see rollout to P10's until Q1/Q2 2018 unfortunately.
Would love to be proved wrong, but can't see it ?
Waiting early for Android reo
Waiting early for Android reo!
February 2018 is not too far!
Do Huawei tend to update their devices fast? What's their previous record on previous devices?
Huawei is not known as a fast updating one.. you can only hope for updates by the end of 2017.. but I guess it arrives in the first quarter of 2018.
Gesendet von meinem VTR-L09 mit Tapatalk
On Weibao there are pictures and roumours that MATE 10 will come with Oreo. I think it will come in December, or latest in early Q1 2018.
I found that there is an experimental P10 rom with Oreo.. but only in china devices.
Yes, the Huawei Mate 10 will safely come with the new emui and so on with android orio.
An Android Oreo beta has already been made available for the Mate 9. P10 shouldn't be that far ahead.

Oreo does not provide new features, I do not get the reasons for be expectant about it. I do think EMUI has a lot of needed features, but Oreo per se will not provide any of what I personally want. Would you name a feature Oreo provide that might be useful for us?

Huawei stoped update P9+ ?

Anyone know what's going on with Huawei and their updates.
VIE-L09
•Latest security patch 1 July.
•No new unapproved builds in FF.
Is this the end?
Hi !
It seems so, but Huawei was always scrimp with communication on updates.
It is very disappointing, no oreo, no more updates, flagship from 2016. The same will happen to other flagships from 2018, within 1 year they will be, too, forgotten regarding updates. so no more handset from huawei ((((. Huawei is about ONLY hipe around newer and newer phones, but they forget to update. Fooling users.
Even my 4-year-old Lumia 640 is regularly updated with spring and fall creators updates. LOL Microsoft.-))
As far as I know, FF works no more because of **** like server encrypting or something like this.
Who knows the future?...
yeah, Huawei sucks when it comes to updating their phones, it's a pity when phones are pretty good.

I bought a LG G7 ThinQ instead, it is likely to get Android Pie as well, not developer friendly etc but a nice phone with SD845. It's exactly as long as the P9 Plus but less wide making it more pocket friendly. The dealbreaker was price (380€ in a campaign) conciderably lower than even Oneplus 6 and the ESS Quad DAC with 3.5mm headphone jack, I listen to a lot of music through premium cans.
