Does anyone have an idea when the Android Oreo will be available to the VTR-L09?
Thanks
As google said, it arrives by the end of 2017. So, be patient, it can't be rolled out before 2018, I think. January, February 2018 maybe. (December would be great, but I do not think so)
Gesendet von meinem VTR-L09 mit Tapatalk
With Huaweis update handling it wouldn't come until Q1 2018 even though Oreo was released yesterday. And I hope they make an EMUI 6.0 with new improvements and 3rd party app support.
Android Oreo (8.0) is rolling out in phases across Pixel & Nexus handsets this month at some point.
Looking at how long it has taken carriers to update Huawei handsets so far, I don't think we will see rollout to P10's until Q1/Q2 2018 unfortunately.
Would love to be proved wrong, but can't see it ?
Waiting early for Android reo
Waiting early for Android reo!
February 2018 is not too far!
Do Huawei tend to update their devices fast? What's their previous record on previous devices?
Huawei is not known as a fast updating one.. you can only hope for updates by the end of 2017.. but I guess it arrives in the first quarter of 2018.

On Weibao there are pictures and roumours that MATE 10 will come with Oreo. I think it will come in December, or latest in early Q1 2018.
I found that there is an experimental P10 rom with Oreo.. but only in china devices.
Yes, the Huawei Mate 10 will safely come with the new emui and so on with android orio.
An Android Oreo beta has already been made available for the Mate 9. P10 shouldn't be that far ahead.

Oreo does not provide new features, I do not get the reasons for be expectant about it. I do think EMUI has a lot of needed features, but Oreo per se will not provide any of what I personally want. Would you name a feature Oreo provide that might be useful for us?

The picture and picture is useful for us. Btw, oreo is now in early beta for the P10 ( not for the P10 Plus ) but it's on FunckyHuawei.

The whole text seems to be a dummy text, just with $Model replaced by "Huawei P10".
I call fake. B302 isn't available.

Hi guys  ,
This is a new discussion of the nougat update dedicated for p8 lite.
Here you can write all of emui 5.0 and news for the future update of p8 lite.
What do you think about it?
Did they announce 7.0 for p8 lite?
Does anyone really think that we will receive the update? Huawei is no longer profiting from this phone, and sadly, that's how this works, from a business perspective, they can't update it to Android Nougat because that won't bring them money, they are working on the P9, the Honor 8 and other new devices (I don't remember how those are called)

That's what I was thinking. There is no info at all on the Internet. I imagined the OP had more info on this.
I think they might update the phone to show others how good is Huawei because they support old phones and even lite version for 2y+.
Theoretically they said they would give updates to phones made two years ago or less. And since the p8lite is from May 2015 I think, we theoretically should receive the new update. However we might not receive it, and personally I dont think we will. What we CAN do is if we dont get the update, massively spam huawei's social media pages lol.

Or we can wait for custom/CM ROM's :victory:
From some sources i heard something like huawei will givin' update all Phone by 2 years after they were released. So, we still have more than 6months to get an answer for this... check this one

It's so ****ing hard to think ?! Maybe they will release more updates for this phone but insignificant...little updates for the 6.0. I'm sure we will never get the 7.0 from Huawei.
Huawei isn't going to update this phone. Huawei releases a lot of phone in a year so if they start updating it would take a lot of time. Even if it does we won't get update untill September 2017.
For all this phones are enough developers and enough money, so updates shouldn't be a problem. New phones are no problem, too. It's just possible. EMUI 4.1 will come

Huawei Nova? Honor 5x? Mate 8/9?
China Mobile Version Honor 5A is a new phone that also runs Hisilicon Kirin 620.Maybe it can receive updates. We could give a try to port it.
It's pointless. It's better to have AOSP/Cm than port Huawei rom.

Can be a source for eventuali nougat drivers for Kirin 620 actually
Android 7.1 is really nice on Moto G. App-Shortcuts is a really nice feature. Is that on EMUI 4.1/5.0 too?
The EMUI page on Facebook refers to an event regarding EMUI 5 happening on November 3 in Munich, Germany. https://www.facebook.com/HuaweiEMUI/
That's great. Hope we get it. Otherwise the old Moto G 2013 beat the newer P8 Lite
i dunno, but updating from Lollipop to MM was an big mistake, so should updating to nougat (if it comes) be better ??
Hi, Oreo 8.1 final beta is available for Pixel 2 users and will enable the Pixel's NPU for third party apps. Just wondering if anyone knows what 8.1 might do for the Mate 10? Google Lens?
I don't know what it will do to the Mate 10, but I have seem some signs of internal builds of what looks like might be EMUI 8.1
I haven't released anything yet, though. Take it with a grain of salt for now
Update on the above: EMUI 8.0.1 exists but it's still Android 8.0, not 8.1

Any major changes in EMUI 8.1 ? Or just adapting EMUI for the new hardware stuff on P11 ?

Turned out to be EMUI 8.0.1, and no major changes that I can report on. Of course whatever is the final release for the P11 might be different.
Huawei don't bother with incremental OS updates. Correct me if I'm wrong, bit every Huawei and Honor phone never got 7.1 shame as 7.0 had a battery drain issue that was fixed in 7.1 a year later and my Honor 8's battery is still very poor.

That's incredibly unfortunate given that .0 Android releases are usually quite half-baked. I guess it goes well with the half-baked EMUI.
This time there is a pretty darn important reason to go to 8.1 for Huawei, though. Fast, even.
Huawei is massively advertising the NPU of its Kirin 970 SoC - and on Android 8.0 the NPU is borderline useless. The couple of AI apps on the phone right now are little more than tech demos.
Android 8.1 brings the AI API necessary to make the NPU accessible to other apps.
Here is an editorial that speaks about the details and very much assumes that Android 8.1 will be coming to the Mate 10 (Pro) quite soon:
Android 8.1 and Oreo's AI future
If Huawei is truly skipping 8.1 this time around, they'd be significantly dumber than expected.
If the info in this link is true https://www.androidcentral.com/editors-desk-android-81-and-oreos-ai-future
I think the mate 10 will be the best/most advanced Android phone till the rest of the manufacturers bring NPU to there phones.
The 8.1 update will be sick, it'll unlock our NPUs for other apps, give us more scene detections for our cameras, the option to turn off the AI, reportedly the "long exposure shots without a tripod" feature, and many more. Huawei said android 8.1 is "officially compatible with the Mate 10" (4 months ago), which makes me wonder, are we ever getting the update? The phone has been released for quite a while now, and we never got any updates AFAIK. Do you think we will? If you do, why do you say so?
I don't have the answer but yes it could be nice to have an update for it but when ??
IMO wouldn't it be better if we jumped to Android 9? Dev preview is on Chinese mate10 AFAIK. I had a P8, that went from 5.0 to 6. There was a very brief 5.1 with a few fixes. The time they spent on that would have been far better used polishing the 6.0 release.

If I had to choose I'd pick android P, it's really sick, I'm asking for 8.1 because that's the very least you could ask for, don't set the bar too high because Huawei failed to deliver many times before.
The update is rolling out in China right now, but we will have it a month or two later, maybe...
Huawei promised on stage that the mate 10 (and pro) would be getting Android 8.1 early this year with support for the Android NNAPI that would give developers access to the NPU.
Fast forward, it's almost summer and nothing yet.
When I read the news that the night camera mode would be arriving soon for the Mate 10, I had a little hope that this update would be bundled with the 8.1 update, but it seems that for other regions on FF the night camera update is already showing and no sign of the 8.1.... it's just a June patch with the night camera add-on.
I'm also not holding my breath for a fast Android P release, maybe end this year, beginning of the next year? Anyways after the next Mate launch for sure.
It looks like huawei will have to move to other os, or stop selling their devices in the US, sooner than they expected. Let's hope that this doesn't happen.
Hoping for 8.1 soon and for sure also for Android P in my dream lol
What you mean "dreaming Android P". The device is not a year old and they will for sure drop Android P for Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The problem is EMUI.
I will mever buy again a Huawei device, bootloader lock 4 ever and lame updates.

Haha, sorry.
There is a new firmware in FF 145 it has nightshot but the firmware is not approved yet so we gotta wait till it gets approved to install I guess. I am a BLA-L09 C432 user from UK. Just in case any one wanted to know or if it even mattered.

I think if they made stock google look or used android one on their device. These phones will sell like hotcakes, also they include all their features that be great. But that's just a dream for now. -_-
145 just arrived on ff with night mode. Unavailable for me yet
136 update with nightmode available on FF but not approved for my firmware, will wait till it is. Sadly, it's still android 8.0. Should I lose more hope because of that?
Pays to read. The 8.1 update does not start until the end of the month, another 2 weeks.
Already using 145. June patch. Night shot better, but not that thing. Anyway, satisfied with this update.
Huawei confirmed is working on Android Q for Mate 20 Lite and other Huawei Phones!
Probably arrive sometime in 2021 unless you're in Asia of course where it'll be out in a few months after Google release it.
This will probably take some time. Also, add more time because of network companies.... ?
My wife's Mate 20 Lite (global ver.) hasn't received an 9.0 update yet but Huawei announce Q

Probably not, unless they're allowed to work with Google again. They have to work hard to get it released before that 90 day limit. But they did confirm the update, so I hope we'll get it eventually.
It's still bery early to say if the Mate 20 Lite will get the Android Q... despite what Huawei "says" today...
Android Q is still in development, so... there is a big gap between "say" that will support and really deliver the update... But again, is a unfinished version of Android, so...
lots of developers received HMS updates on Chinese version devices for test,
we don't even get the internal test, how & when can we upgrade HMS?
anyone have new?
Accordint to them, NOH-NX9 is not MAte 40 Pro and hence not included in the list.
In addition to the issue unable to install GMS (only choice is ourplay), so I really want to use the word "total failure" for Huawei phones international version outside China.
