Short SMS'S ? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Am having problem with my note 5 since i got it, i used g2 before, and SMS'S were like 150-160 letters, on note 5 they are like 70-80 no more, and after 70-80 it switches to MMS, instead of spliting message in 2 SMS...
Is there any way i can fix problem with letters? I want 150-160 which i had on LG G2

Almost been a week with the X1...

I've had my X1 for almost a week now... And starting to get a better impression of the phone. Prior to buying the phone, I had read many reviews and forums and weighed my options, X1, Nokia N95, E71 (not comparable), as well as the HTC Diamond. I am on Rogers network in Canada.
I have installed:
Xperia Tweak 2
Touch Response
Vista hide Battery Gauge
Youtube for X1
Youtube Panel
SPB wireless monitor
SPB Mobile Shell
Facebook Panel
And I think thats about it.
So far I've used the phone mostly for calling, email, SMS and Facebook. I've had limited browsing experience. But found it to be somewhat slow.
After almost a week, I am comfortable using the phone and found alot of things I really like about it. But thats not to say I find it free from flaws. In fact I have found several that are now starting to be inconveniences.
At first I had the OZMAIL problem some have had, and it began as soon as I installed my SIM card into the X1 and turned it on. This was a non-hardware related issue, but stressful to say the least. Problems gone.
When using my SMS, I have difficulty getting SMS messages, as many people text me but I dont get them. As well, my phone sends old messages after soft resets, but these messages were apparently sent almost 12 hours prior. And they are re-sent messages as they were received when sent.
The signal quality is stressful, as I will be standing in a variety of places and be told my text could not be sent, or I have little to no signal at all, both for texting and emailing. Calls have been okay, with obvious inability to get signal when in some dead areas. Battery life seems to be lasting about 24-30 hours on a charge. Mind you I dont make alot of calls.
The one side of the slider, where the optical joystick is, feels loose, and slightly more play in it than the other side, and am wondering if I should address the problem sooner than later.
The things I like about the phone, I like alot and there are too many to list. But the little things make it stressful for me at times. I am going to call Rogers to see if I cant figure out the Text problem, but I am wondering if I should just return the unit for another, or maybe seek a totally different device. Anyone have any pearls of wisdom they would care to share?

what rom are you using?
make sure its flashed to the newest official rom at the very least. (although I'd recommend flashing a custom rom.)
you can also try flashing different radio roms to get a better signal.
but if you're in an area that other phones have decent reception(on the same carrier) its possible your X1 is defective.?
When I checked the firmware, it was R3A im pretty sure. I havent thought of flashing to roms yet. My phone is now telling me I have 2 new texts, and I deleted them all, and it still says 2 new messages. I think a new rom is needed...
Standard ROMs don't have that SMS problem. It is most likely one of the additional programs you have installed. Third-party software is most likely the culprit when phones start acting funny. Uninstall them one-by-one to see if the problem clears up (I would start with uninstalling Touch Response).
What about this?

^^^ Hmmm...why install a program that compensates for another program's bugs?

Problem with some sms not arriving

Hi there
For a while nowI've been experiencing problems with text messages not arriving, but they do end up in my sent items.
There is no real pattern to which messages do and do not arrive at the cellphone I'm sending them too, although I do notice that it ussualy are longer messages (i.e. a couple of lines of text instead of just 1 or 2).
I've tried 5 or 6 different roms in the last couple of weeks but I have the same problem with each of them so it is not the rom.
I've read somewhere that too much reflasig of your device can cause strange problems could this be what I'm experiencing? any help would be very much appreciated!

[Q] Multiple Texts

Greetings!
Lots of my friends have been telling me that my phone sends texts 3-5 times. I've had the vivid since the day it came out and I've used multiple roms. I currently have holics on it, but i've heard it even when I was on stock. So, I'm like hmmm? Usually a reboot fixes it but I dont want to do that every few hours. Could it be AT&T? Vivid? GOsms Pro? It just really bugs me, because I know I hate receiving dup texts. I usually hear "wtf why did you send that 3 times?" a day..
Anyone else having this issue?

I have had this happen ever since i activated a iphone 3G on my account years ago. I get multiple sent and received.. i dont know what caused it, but i just ignore it.
i find it happens with iphones most, but it also happens with other phones
i havent had this issue since i been using a non lte rom
I had it happen to me, and (at least in my case) I think I've narrowed down the potential cause.
I wrote a small app to send a specific text to a specific number. It works - well, ... kind of. After sending the first text, the SMS system appears to freeze, and won't allow any subsequent messages to be sent from any SMS app - not just the one I wrote - until I reboot the phone. When I do, the clogged messages are released. This would include any re-sends I may have attempted, resulting in dupes.
So my semi-literate guess is that it has to do with an incompatible SMS app, which probably locks the outbound socket for a while.
......then again, I may be way off base.

[Q] SMS typing lag since Lollipop Update

Ever since I updated my HTC One M7 to android 5.0.2, my text messaging function has been super slow especially when messages are coming in....there is a lag when I'm typing, like it freezes up and each letter I type takes a few seconds before they show up. Instead of being able to respond to a message in 3 seconds, it would take 30 seconds or even longer to be able to type my response and send it. I uninstalled Swiftkey and I am still experiencing the same problem. It only slows down when I'm exchanging messages with someone. But if no messages are coming in, it seems to work just fine. I looked everywhere and it seems like I am the only one having this problem.

Turbo 2 Texts Reappearing when Wifi turned back On.

I have been using Message + with my new droid turbo 2 and have liked it. Yesterday, I turned my Wifi off. Today, I was texting a couple of contacts. I delete my texts because my young daughter has a habit of reading them when I am not looking.
Anyway, I deleted all of today's text messages earlier. Just now, I noticed wifi was off so I turned it back on. As soon as the connection was made, my phone beeped repeatedly as if I were receiving 15 texts in a row. I looked in the message + and EVERY text I had made with the wifi turned off reappeared.
I couldn't help imagining those texts messages going to any number of places.
I have only had the phone a month and it has been perfect.
Does anyone know why this happened?
Why the wifi - text message connection at all?
Can I prevent this from happening?
Verizon has a thing where your phone can receive texts via wifi if there is no cell connection. There is also a feature for tablets to receive every text sent to your phone. It might have something to do with one of those features gone wrong.
