Hey guys, I need help.
Since I bought my Moto a days ago, the phone takes a lot of time to charge. I'm talking of 15hours-1day to full charge.
I used different USB cables and chargers of different amperage but nothing, all the same.
I don't know what the problem is. The battery? USB port?
With Ampere app, it shows like 70-100mah when charged and -210 mah of discharge when no plugged. It is normal?
Help me guys ?.

That is incredibly strange. Have you tried charging when the phone is off? What charger are you using, does it specify output amperage and voltage?
I have found mine to be very sensitive, as well as my Moto X Play. They seem very dependent on the cable as well. I'm currently using Anker cables with my phones and haven't had any trouble.
I'm used different chargers. A original Nokia charger with 550mah (very very very slow). Original iPhone charger with 1A (very slow). Original LG charger with 750mah (very slow). Generic charger with two ports, 1A and 2.1A but works better with 1A port; the same, very slow. All with 5V.
I charged with the phone off and the same, very slow. And the problem persists when you used while is charging; it's like the phone just don't charge, the battery still drain (fast) but the battery icon shows the charging icon.
I used a Samsung cable as well as the LG cable.
i also dont know whats happening while recharging. with my different solutions, via adapter plus cable or a 'native' recharger (all up to 5V/2A) my moto just recharge up to a maximum value of 350ma/h.
and this without any real consumption.
I think that the USB port is damaged. Or maybe the battery.

Hi guys. I'm just wondering why the htc one charges at usb speeds with an apple 12v charger however my nexus 4 charges just fine with it. It's the same thing with my new trent external battery pack.

Do you mean the one charges slow, if so i think this is deliberate by htc as a slow charge is better for the battery`s health, as the user cannot replace the battery like you can on other phones.

This is what I mean, I'm using the original cable and an apple 12v universal usb charger and it charges in usb mode and not ac mode.

It looks like the H1 has detected you apple charger as an no-approved charger and has limited it`s charging speed to lower currant/ma level.
I have seen this happen with other phones and usb charging devices before, i don't recommend you do this, an usb socket has 4 connection pins 1,2,3,4 , if the connection 2,3 are soldered together the device will charge at A/C speed, if connection 2,3 are not connected, it will charge at USB speeds.
I have taken an number of my usb charges apart and soldered pin 2+3 together to enable the high charge rate.
I cannot guaranty this is the reason for your usb message

Oh. No wonder. How sad. I have to buy new chargers I guess? The same thing happens with my car charger. Thanks for the explanation!
Hey guys, I left my phone to charge last night and it went from dead to 30%.
About midnight to 8am using the white charger and a 3.0 cable
I recently used oneclick to unroot. Anyone have suggestions?

My phone won't even charge if I'm using it while it's connected to the PC. It will show that it is charging but the percentage drops...and that's with USB 3.0 mode. Personally, I don't think the USB ports have enough juice to power this beast. The wall charger is 5.3v @ 2 amps while USB 3.0 is 5v @ 900mA, Less than half of the wall charger amps and lower voltage. Perhaps it needs to be off in order to charge.

It was plugged into the wall. I'm sending it back to Samsung for warranty. Since I did nothing wrong.

I see. I misread.
Does anyone here have a 2A charger and can tell us how much MI3 will get of that current? It is said that the MI3 comes with fast charging, but I bought a 2A charger and the maximum the phone gets is 1.3A. I am curious if that is the maximum the charger will output or just the phone can't receive more.
Did the measurement using Elixir2 app from the market, the "Information" thing. The standard Xiaomi charger puts out a maximum of 1A, and the brand new charger I got a maximum of 1.2A.
Nobody has a 2A charger? Maybe from a Samsung phone or tablet.

I have 2A charger that I got with MI3 India. My phone gets 1.3 - 1.5 A while doing fast charging. I guess that's maximum it can draw.
How long does it take to charge?
For me only 0.6A
Hey man I heard someone on AOSP gets 1.9A, IDK how he does that.
For me even 1.3A would be good, look:

I have tested it with more chargers, in more rooms, but I get only 0.6A :crying:
Every charging takes 3.5h for me.
Yes, 0.6A is pretty bad. Even stock charger is 1A. Maybe thay did that in MIUI to protect battery heating (to prolong battery life). I haven't tried AOSP (I'm waiting for non-MIUI stable lollipop release), but I will certainly check it out.
I've also noticed that in the chargers where two middle data pins don't work (meaning there is no voltage in them), charging doesn't work either (or it is waaay slower).
EDIT:
I've just charged my phone using Logitech charger (that came with my MX1100 mouse), and found out that MI3 uses 1A on this charger (don't know what is the rate on original charger). I am using MIUI 5, latest stable.
Hi guys! I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to open a new one.
I'm currently using a 5V 2A Samsung charger and my Mi3 only draws
1320-1330 mA. I'm using Ampere and I'm on Miui6 4.4.4 Xiaomi.eu latest
developer release.
What I would like to know is:
1 - Is it possible to enable fast charging through a software update given that
the hardware supposedly supports it or is this a limitation of that little chip that is
responsible for the current draw during charge?
2 - Does anybody know if the phone draws more mA with a different rom?
Thanks
Is there a work around for the phone not recognizing a non-OEM charger and charging slowly? There HAS to be a way around this! My G2 is currently sitting at 23% and it says that it will take 9 hours to charge till full!?!?! Even with a generic charger there is no way it should take 9 hours to add 77% to my battery. Any suggestions from anyone, other than buying the OEM charger? I know they're only $10 on eBay but if I could buy one I would have.

What cable are you using? Cheap USB cable have small gauge wires that cannot carry the current this phone draws and will create a large voltage drop which eventually terminates or slows the charging process.
I have a cheap 1A knockoff car charger and use a very short USB cable (1ft) and my phone charges almost as fast as at home.
T
EDIT: Also check the USB port in the phone - if there is lots of lint in there, it prevents the connector from seating and making good contact.
The USB port is fine but I'm using a 2.1amp plug that supports quick charging and a regular 6ft microUSB cable. Still getting the "charging slowly" message.

Must have been a problem with CM13 or something. After restoring my stock backup I no longer get the "charging slowly" message and the phone definitely charges fast now.
I would try charging while completely shut down.
Yes its an issue with the rom you are using. I would suggest you use stock lollipop rom with dorimanx kernel to get the most outta your device.
Hi. My phone is on stock MIUI 12.0.1. It is not rooted nor unblocked.
The phone came with a regular (5VĂ—2A=10W) charger that works fine. I tried to charge it with with two different Samsung chargers (9V x 1.67A = 15W) and it does detect that it is fast charger yet the battery level keeps dropping.
Do I need a 18W charger? Do you think it is a bug/hardware problem? It is still under warranty.
Thanks!
Ampere - Apps on Google Play
Measure the charging and discharging current of your battery.
play.google.com
Install this and screenshot the screen to me, while the phone is plugged in.
First picture is with the regular 10W xiaomi charger and second with the 15W Samsung one. Sorry about the spanish words but you can see the voltage and current. Both Samsung chargers show about the same and they both work fine with their phones. Samsung chargers say "adaptive fast charging"

May not be compatible fast charging technologies.
Yeah... I've been doing some more research and that is what I'm thinking too... The phone is supposedly compatible with "qualcomm quick charge 3.0" and just maybe it is not compatible with Samsung chargers. What I did not expect was for the phone to actually discharge while plugged in. I will try to test a different charger and report back but being COVID times and everyhting it may take a while. Thanks to both of you!

Best bet is to use a OEM charger and cable.
I have 2 sets for my Samsung... makes troubleshooting easier.
