Hi guys. I'm just wondering why the htc one charges at usb speeds with an apple 12v charger however my nexus 4 charges just fine with it. It's the same thing with my new trent external battery pack.

Do you mean the one charges slow, if so i think this is deliberate by htc as a slow charge is better for the battery`s health, as the user cannot replace the battery like you can on other phones.
John.

This is what I mean, I'm using the original cable and an apple 12v universal usb charger and it charges in usb mode and not ac mode.

It looks like the H1 has detected you apple charger as an no-approved charger and has limited it`s charging speed to lower currant/ma level.
I have seen this happen with other phones and usb charging devices before, i don't recommend you do this, an usb socket has 4 connection pins 1,2,3,4 , if the connection 2,3 are soldered together the device will charge at A/C speed, if connection 2,3 are not connected, it will charge at USB speeds.
I have taken an number of my usb charges apart and soldered pin 2+3 together to enable the high charge rate.
I cannot guaranty this is the reason for your usb message

Oh. No wonder. How sad. I have to buy new chargers I guess? The same thing happens with my car charger. Thanks for the explanation!

i bought a tmo galaxy tab, and only came with the data cable, so i've been charing it using it and it takes like 10 hours to fully charge, no matter where i plug it, i plug it to my computer and i plug it the wii usb ports or tv usb ports, but still takes like 10 hours, it makes me crazy.. so does that mean i'm forced to buy the original charger? because when i click in "settings, about tab" and says "battery status: NOT CHARGING"
does this happen to the everybody? if i buy the original charger will that fix the problem?
i'm looking to buy this one http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Detachable-Charger-ETA-P10JBEGSTA/dp/B004CGHDEO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305761300&sr=8-1
and why is so F*cking expenssive ='S!!
Yes the wall charger will fix this.

I (and a few other Tab owners) bought this(or similar) adapter which lets you charge the Tab much quicker (I find it almost as quick as the wall charger). The only downside is whilst charging , you cant use it as a data cable. to do so, you much remove the adapter.

how long will it take with the wall charger? 10min ?
An ipad charger will work. Plugging into tv usb ports or wii usb ports or computers won't work because they don't output enough to charge the tab.
It will still take several hours to charge though. It is a large battery to charge.
i tried using the apple charger
and did not work either, takes 10 hrs too
seems like samsung pulled the fast one, the same sh*t with the desk docking station, they want you to buy those expensive accesories and strip you to nothing :l !!

About midnight to 8am using the white charger and a 3.0 cable
I recently used oneclick to unroot. Anyone have suggestions?

My phone won't even charge if I'm using it while it's connected to the PC. It will show that it is charging but the percentage drops...and that's with USB 3.0 mode. Personally, I don't think the USB ports have enough juice to power this beast. The wall charger is 5.3v @ 2 amps while USB 3.0 is 5v @ 900mA, Less than half of the wall charger amps and lower voltage. Perhaps it needs to be off in order to charge.

It was plugged into the wall. I'm sending it back to Samsung for warranty. Since I did nothing wrong.

I see. I misread.
Hey guys, I need help.
Since I bought my Moto a days ago, the phone takes a lot of time to charge. I'm talking of 15hours-1day to full charge.
I used different USB cables and chargers of different amperage but nothing, all the same.
I don't know what the problem is. The battery? USB port?
With Ampere app, it shows like 70-100mah when charged and -210 mah of discharge when no plugged. It is normal?
Help me guys ?.

That is incredibly strange. Have you tried charging when the phone is off? What charger are you using, does it specify output amperage and voltage?
I have found mine to be very sensitive, as well as my Moto X Play. They seem very dependent on the cable as well. I'm currently using Anker cables with my phones and haven't had any trouble.
I'm used different chargers. A original Nokia charger with 550mah (very very very slow). Original iPhone charger with 1A (very slow). Original LG charger with 750mah (very slow). Generic charger with two ports, 1A and 2.1A but works better with 1A port; the same, very slow. All with 5V.
I charged with the phone off and the same, very slow. And the problem persists when you used while is charging; it's like the phone just don't charge, the battery still drain (fast) but the battery icon shows the charging icon.
I used a Samsung cable as well as the LG cable.
i also dont know whats happening while recharging. with my different solutions, via adapter plus cable or a 'native' recharger (all up to 5V/2A) my moto just recharge up to a maximum value of 350ma/h.
and this without any real consumption.
I think that the USB port is damaged. Or maybe the battery.
Is there a work around for the phone not recognizing a non-OEM charger and charging slowly? There HAS to be a way around this! My G2 is currently sitting at 23% and it says that it will take 9 hours to charge till full!?!?! Even with a generic charger there is no way it should take 9 hours to add 77% to my battery. Any suggestions from anyone, other than buying the OEM charger? I know they're only $10 on eBay but if I could buy one I would have.

What cable are you using? Cheap USB cable have small gauge wires that cannot carry the current this phone draws and will create a large voltage drop which eventually terminates or slows the charging process.
I have a cheap 1A knockoff car charger and use a very short USB cable (1ft) and my phone charges almost as fast as at home.
T
EDIT: Also check the USB port in the phone - if there is lots of lint in there, it prevents the connector from seating and making good contact.
The USB port is fine but I'm using a 2.1amp plug that supports quick charging and a regular 6ft microUSB cable. Still getting the "charging slowly" message.

Must have been a problem with CM13 or something. After restoring my stock backup I no longer get the "charging slowly" message and the phone definitely charges fast now.
I would try charging while completely shut down.
Yes its an issue with the rom you are using. I would suggest you use stock lollipop rom with dorimanx kernel to get the most outta your device.
By default I have my Note 8 to slow charge via the supplied stock wired charger.
Today I plugged in my charger and on the lock screen I had a message which I barely remember stating that I should be using my original supplied charger and currently it's slow charging or that effect.
The pull down notification is stating the attached. Hopefully it's not an issue with the device and just a glitch or charger issue. Never had this before. Normally wired slown charging with the Samsung supplied charger takes under two hours, but it claims it's now USB charging and will take 15 hours. LOL.
Edit. Hopefully it was a glitch, unplugged cable and re-inserted and immediately said 1h 4mins to charge now.

May be some dirt or lint in usb port or cable plug, I use a magnetic cable, it charges a little bit slower, but keeps the usb port clean and saves it from wear off
i have seen this issue on cheap cables.
Yeah I've seen it happen on my Pixel, Nexus and S6. Ever since fast charging has been around I suppose. I have noticed it does not happen when plugged directly into an outlet. Only if its sharing power via a power strip or a plug converter. Unplugging/plugging usually fixes it.

Interesting, as it's plugged into the recliner chair socket. But then again it has been for a while with no issues. Hopefully it ain't a battery issue arising it's ugly head. I'd be dreading to deal with Samsung direct should it be the case.
If it starts occurring again I'll use another genuine note 8 charger and cable before making any assumptions. Cheers

I have had this happen on my Note 8 with factory charger and cable as well as with 3rd party charger/cable (Aukey). Also had occasional freezes at AOD while charging but never really determined if one is related to the other. The freezing happens like once a month so not a huge deal but annoying. The slow charge message happens about same amount.
