How to disable dock rotation? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I'm running Marshmallow on my rooted z3c. Is there a way to disable screen rotation when phone is docked or when magnetic charger is plugged in? Maybe through some Xposed module?
Thanks!

Yes exactly, there is an xposed module called Disable Desk Dock ?

Did you test it out? Because I tried it yesterday and it doesn't work on my phone. Screen still rotates when docked.
//edit
Installed another Xposed module - AndroPlusMod. This one has settings to disable desk dock and actually works. Problem solved!

Hmm it does work for me, but i'm still using kitkat, maybe thats why ?

Motorola Milestone Media Dock Disable?

Okay, so I was able to disable the launching of the media dock application when the phone touches the magnet portion of my case, but how would I go about stopping it from waking up every time i do so? Also, does anyone know if it impacts the battery if i leave it connected to the dock with the screen off?
Try the "No Dock" app from market, if you are using stock ROM.

I already use something similar, and it stops the media dock from showing up. What I want to do is completely disable the magnet sensor altogether. That way, if I put it on the media dock, the screen stays off, and doesn't turn on at all. Does this app do this?
If you have root, then yes, this is why I create this app.
But currently only tested on two particular model and kernel version Milestone and HTC Evo 4G.
For more info you can view the demo video here(for the initial working version): http://goo.gl/w1mR

Recently found that No Dock cannot work on Droid stock ROM.
The latest version has this fixed. So if you got Droid stock ROM (or ChevyNo1 kernel) then please try again.

uninstall multimedia dock app
You can use titanium backup to uninstall the stock apps. You'll need root and I would suggest you backup any apps you don't want in case you change your mind later.
I've tried to remove both the desk dock and car dock app, the phone will just switch on the display when it is close to a magnet or being put to the cradle/media station.
Alternatively, market has some app to act as dock application so that there is a chance to override the default moto dock app. I've tried some, none could completely eliminate the docking event.
So I wrote the "No Dock" app, although it needs root, it can completely eliminate the docking event so that Android won't even know about a magnet is nearby.
I always use this app to disable the docking event so that I can put my phone to the cradle/media station anytime without worrying of wasting battery.

Most of us aren't on stock anymore so this is hard to answer. However, Xposed framework with GravityBox[ KK ] has an option to enable/disable charging sounds and/or vibrations.
As for doing this on stock 4.4.2, check Settings->Sound. There may be something there.

[Q] Locking and unlocking screen via NFC Tag

Hi there, I have searched some forums and I haven't found any sollutions for this. There was mod for Nexus 4, when NFC modded application was being installed on device, therefore there was ability to use NFC Tags while screen is off. So, I'm searching for AOSP android 5.0 screen unlocking via NFC Tag, becouse Smark Lock doesn't work as it seems (checked, running pabx build).
Is it possible to do?
Any sollutions?
up, any answers?

UP again. No one thought about it..?
Yup it is possible
You need root, and Xposed Framework. Then install the module called NFC LockScrenOff Enabler.
It allows you to use it with screen off.
Personally i prefer to only enable NFC on lock-screen (not screen off), because many times i hold my phone and wallet on top of each other and i keep the bus pass in there which the phone can read.

Not possible in Lollipop even with Xposed Alpha 2 version. Plugin simply doesn't work. It's sad. The only way to unlock device from screen off is to use some Tasker/Llama apps and trigger them with BT HF/USB charging. Then it can go to Car Mode which unlock the device, but only on the rom with hardware profiles like CM12.

It's been ages since the last update of the module you should ask the dev about it. I';m sticking to 4.4.4 till xposed f is stable enough and modules compatible

Android Auto Issues

Hi
I have a strange issue when using Android Auto on car head unit through my Mi9 MIUI Global 11.0.5.
Everything connects fine as expected and everything displays correctly until the phone screen times out, then the car head unit loses roughly a quarter of the right hand display (has overlay of black bar from top to bottom of screen). The icons / screens still work if pressed where graphics would be, but they are not displayed.
i have tried altering notch setting / full screen display settings but nothing corrects the issue.
......any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Mr E Weasel
This is the same problem as in a non MIUI (AOSP) rom. Disable HW overlay in developer option solves this.
However. This shouldn't be a problem on a MIUI rom that's why I don't use the AOSP ROMs for now.
So it's very weird.
......thanks for the reply and good call @KaiseRRUby. I tried that but as you probably suspected it did not solve the issue, also the state does not persist after a reboot.
DUPE
Having the same issue since updating to Miui 11. Have you found a solution?

Same problem on Mi 9T Pro here.
I have enabled developer options and enabled the option to keep phone awake while charging.

I did a workarround by using the free Android application "Automate" by LLamaLab. I setup a basic script looking if i am in my car (Check car bluetooth connectivity) and then delay the screen lock. When not in my car anymore (no more car bluetooth connectivity) re enable the screen lock as it was.
It is working like a charm.
I had same problem, you can turn on Always on display it will fix it
UPDATE:
Only way round it I have found so far is to use tasker (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm) to display full black screen and set screen time out to max time when it see Android Auto launched.

I've always had AOD activated and it does not help.
The solution for me was to enable keep screen on while charging in developer settings. Since the phone is always plugged in for AA, it works fine.
I don't know why some resolve to using scripting apps for this. Did you try this setting and it did not help, or maybe you don't want to keep the screen on while charging ? You can always turn it off by pressing the power button, so it seems like the almost perfect solution to me.
