[Q] Xperia T

I currently own an Sony Xperia Play and I'm running CM 9.1. Things are pretty stable but the phone is starting to wear out and I'm butting up against the RAM/Memory limits (I have around 100 applications installed and most have to be installed to the SD card).
I was wondering what people thought about the Xperia T? Does the phone suffer from lock-up's, is CyanogenMod 9/CyanogenMod 10 stable enough for a daily driver. What is the camera like, does it boot into the camera quickly. What is the battery life like? For example the Play running stock will last ~18 hours but running CM9 it tends to last 12 hours. Has anyone seen a bluetooth gamepad/keyboard case?
I'm wondering if this is a better choice when compared to the SGS3 or the Nexus 4.

I checked the Q&A forum and saw nothing answering my questions. Can I suggest if you find noob style Q&A questions so offensive that you don't bother reading them. Only last week a bunch of my colleges were complaining about posts like yours which proliferate stack overflow
The XT is an LTE based phone, LTE is only available on T-Mobile/Orange and since VOLTE isn't supported by any UK carrier means there is a noticeable delay between answering a phone. Also there has been some suggestion that 4G will for the short term have a noticeable affect on battery life.
Your second thread spends the entire time talking about the Nexus 4 and getting a stock rom. Neither answers my series of questions. I'm interested to know what the phone is like during daily use use either with stock, CM, AOKP, etc...
I tend to avoid review sites as I find them inaccurate I would prefer to know what people who own the device think of it after using it for a while.

Well, being someone who helps out a lot, i tend to read all Q&A posts, its kinda of my job as a RC. So its annoying when threads are replicated.
My suggestion is to read the two threads I linked, and then read the CM10 thread in the dev section. Finally, as you alluded to, no review site can give you the true feeling of how a phone runs, so I must ask myself, why are you asking for a review?
Take the plunge and run the roms yourself. XDA is not a review forum, it is a dev forum. And if you and your colleagues dont like it I refer you to the rules of the forum.
Hi Steve & Greg, I don't think we have crossed before.
Rather than start to bicker, how about we try and help each other. While your specific questions may not have been asked before there is no harm in asking. The only true way of finding out what a ROM is like is to flash it and test it.
There are multiple threads within the forum answering most of the OP's questions already, just as Greg points out.
In addition to the threads Greg has quoted there is a post your pics thread and a post your battery life thread, both in General. There's also a niggles thread but I forget if it is in General or Q&A.
Combined they answer pretty much all questions asked.
To be honest though, I've personally never got much idea about which phone is best for ME from discussion threads or reviews. They often help you decide but you don't really know what the phone is going to be like without trying it for a while. In my case I couldn't be happier with my XT and would personally avoid Google's new phones due to the bleeding edge technology and the app compatibility and stability issues often associated with them for the months following their release.
Oh, and steve: it might be helpful to all concerned if you title your threads more subjectively - if everyone titled them Xperia T it would make for a pretty painful reading experience.

I'm in the UK and was on O2 (at the end of my contract) when I bought my XT SIM free, and used it for about a week before I got my new Orange SIM.
On both networks the phone has been fine and I haven't noticed any issues with delays.
I'm not on a 4G contract with Orange though so don't know about battery life.

Note or HTC One S?

I'm going to swap my HTC One S for a Note 1... Do you guys think its a good swap? Which phone has a better processor and GPU? The main reason why I'm swapping my One S is because of the dying ROM support and I prefer huge screens. I'm a ROM Junkie and I change my ROM average once a week but my One S is starting to lose developers and not much ROMs left.
Do you guys think the Note 1 will get at least a ported Android L ROM when the official Android L releases?
Thanks so much ~
If you are a weekly flashing ROM Junkie you should know that every question here could be answered by yourself by simply reading in the forums. So start doing it.

Not really. There's no forum about Note Vs HTC One S concerning the processor and the GPU. I'm looking for personal experiences and opinions from people about the swap of my One S for a Note.
My One S had a very active forums like the Note's forums but it became inactive within a week and that can happen to Note's forums as well so this question also goes for the developers if they think they can still stick with the device and port android L when its available. There's not much questions like that here in the forums and some aren't even answered properly.
I checked the forums and I didn't get the answer I am looking for so I made my own thread.
I suggest that you shouldn't be answering if your comment doesn't help in anyway.
I've seen your comments in many other threads (I read a lot) and all I see are negative comments of you telling people to read the forums/threads.
Why not let people do what they want and just let the people with decent answers answer the question of the thread?

LG G2 Lollipop Update/port

So since no one seems to be ranting or asking the question about this, then I guess I will. And here's why. I read earlier this past week that LG would be pushing the update for their G3. I figure with that news out there and the idea of tweaking it to work on the G2, that there would be at least a beta out there? I've looked everywhere and I haven't found anything. I'm not sure how hard an LG is to port versus an HTC but I know that there are ports from the One m7, One m8, and One Max that work on the DNA. Anyways, I'm not trying to *****. I'm just curious as to why there isn't anything out yet? I'm ready to test drive the new 5.0 and I don't really like the nexus devices, nor do I have the money to go buy one out right. I'm just really wondering if anyone is even working on this or waiting for it to hit and then will start working on it??
1. I don't think you're allowed to post questions in development forum, ROMs only.
2. The G3 update is not as easy to port as you think as we're missing a kernel. The problem is even more complicated with the Verizon model because we don't have a CDMA Nexus model to base it on. Porting to GSM model can use some help from the existing Nexus 5 kernel. That's what I think.
Well.. I believe that someone(s) is working on a port for the G2. I'm sure that since they're doing it for free and in their spare time, they will release one when they have a "Good, Safe to Flash" version. Since I'm not a developer of any sort and just a very grateful user of their work.. I will continue to wait patiently until they see fit to release it. If I get tired of waiting then I will probably learn how to make one myself. That way I can have it when I want it.
@CoyotesFan4Evr
First and foremost, this is in the wrong section, as stated before. This is not a Q&A forums (see sticky) and at 100 posts, you should know this.
Tim from ose and reven from liquid smooth along with eight other people, two being members working on cm are building cm12 for us.
Twice now it has been leaked, resulting in two broken builds, and doing nothing more then pissing off the guys working on it. It will come when they have it stable.
What? There is no lollipop port for the dna.
Please note the sticky at the top of the Dev forum going forward...
Sticky: ★ ☆ ✰ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting do not go in the Development Section. ✰ ☆ ★
You know I get that everyone isn't trying to be rude about my posting in the wrong section but I'm sorry it came across rude. Yes I have 100 posts or more. However I didn't read the sticky at all because in my opinion of I or someone else should have a root question there isn't a real section for it that is easily noticed called Root: ask your questions here. So I'm personally going to go to the section labeled development and for my carrier and ask those questions. Maybe my brain is wired wrong in the way but to me it seems like common sense. Anyways, I'm done with my polite rant. I appreciate the responses for the information they gave me. I'll just sit back and wait I suppose. I could always play with stuff on my DNA.
@CoyotesFan4Evr
Yeah, I dunno. There's a general Q&A and a Verizon specific Q&A and you're asking a question, so I don't know why it doesn't click.
The reason why you don't ask questions here, is because it would bog the entire forum down with questions versus Roms, and this place is for roms.
I get why I shouldn't have asked my question here. That part clicks just fine mostly anyways. Where it run up on the issue is that it says general questions. I'm a member on another forum and you don't ask general questions about a rooted phone in a section like that. There is a section called all things root for that type of question asking. So I hope the logic of why I asked on this part of the forum makes sense. But for the future I won't post in the wrong section anymore.
Honestly dude just be patient. Some of the Nexus devices are only just now getting the update, and it's going to be a little while longer before we see anything. CM12 is being worked on and we'll get a G3 port a little while after Lollipop hits the G3. I'm foaming at the mouth for L just as much as anyone else, but these things take time.
If you really want to try it out, there's an early CM12 build in the regular Android development forum. It runs but has some bugs on all versions. It's really nice outside of that.
How do I enable WiFi?
Haha, just ****tin' you.

Where are the Custom Roms?

So not trying to be rude here, but where are the custom roms? I had the original Moto X and it had a few nice custom roms. I` am rooted with a unlocked bootloader but so far have stayed on stock. Is this going to be a bust as far as custom roms for this device......any thoughts would be appreciated!!
Another one of these threads? If you are so big on flashing ROMs, why didn't you research before you bought the X?

Yes it's a bust if you like to flash roms this is not the device to have I personally buy Motos for the stock experience and battery life if I'm looking to flash Nexus or any # of devices for that moving away from Nexus too big too pricey currently

I agree that stock on here is pretty good, on my Moto x 2013 I used a stock rom that was optimized and it was excellent. I think the sales must be poor of this unit and it is one reason that we do not have custom roms. For flashing I will use my M8...

I said I did not mean to be rude...and what do you do, start off with a rude comment...shesh... the thread is in the Q&A section....maybe I want to know what other people think...but obviously not you.
Could be my thinking is that Motorola was locked in with Verizon so long that the development was limited more Gsm phones should help them in the future I bought a droid Razr Hd from Canada Rogers and it worked great would love to get a Turbo gsm HTC has good development and great Devs I owned several of these devices just prefer stock android over sense, touchwiz etc I don't like paying that much for my devices though -- good luck Have a great day
More to the point, there are already several other threads worded exactly like yours already here. The answer, or discussion, you seek already exist on this forum.

My comment really wasn't that rude. There are multiple existing threads on this topic that you could have posted in instead of starting a new one. Threads that are worded near identical to yours, so there is no doubt that had you even made the slightest attempt to search first, you would have found at least one of them. And just like all the other people complaining about no custom ROMs, you should have researched before making your purchase. XDA isn't a venue for you to complain about something that you should have known before you bought the phone, it's here so people can find help with modding their phones. You've been a member since 2010, you should know better. I guarantee this thread will be closed.

The debate should be why..that is what I am asking, I think it is the lack of sales, simple as that. Maybe I should have changed the tittle to make you feel better. I bought it cause it is a good phone, a optimized rom would be nice. Why are your panties and others in such a knot about this. At least it could be good reading cause nothing else is happening here about this device!! Harsh but true...close it, I could care less.
Great phone but very small sales = almost no developer community....but thanks to those that have given us root and a custom recovery it might be needed in the future...I hope!!!!

Nokia 7.1 or Motorola G6plus

Hey
I can buy one of these phones used 1-2 months for similar good prcice. And I have dilema.
The most important for me is camera(quality in night condition also matters) - I have no idea which one is better in this field.
Also I pay attention to screen and design - I guess in this regards Nokia win. However I have some doubts about 3gb ram in Nokia, it seems too little, but maybe its enough because of pure android?
I have also option to buy LG G6 but for similar price, but it would be used about 12months.
What do you think?
Hi there,
There are threads already established that are devoted to discussions about devices, please read, and if necessary, repost your question in one of these threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.
There are also several other discussion threads that you probably should review to help you. They are What phone do you wish you had? or
The Worst Android Device That You've Ever Had & Why or even this place that talks about The best phone you ever owned.
I will have to close this one. Thanks for understanding.
