Looking for a good glass protector - Galaxy Note5 Accessories

Hey guys, I have been using the spigen pet film for a long time but it shows fingerprints like crazy and it makes the screen
look not as good as it should, also because it is pet and not glass it has a drag to it and i'd prefer a smooth touchscreen.
Which glass protector would you guys recommend? i'd prefer it to be as resistant as it can to fingerprints
also, is there a company that sells glass protectors for the back?

looks for screen protector made out of gorilla glass

I've seen it for other phones, but I want one for my Nexus 7. My 6 and 2 year olds will be using it from time to time and no telling where their grubby hands have been. Anywho, can anyone tell me the name of the screen protectors that are made out of gorilla glass?

I fail to see how a screen protector made out of gorilla glass is going to do anything more than a normal screen protector.

I know the gorilla glass is strong but I dont' want the actual screen to get scratched. If the protector gets scratched, fine. After enough of them, I can replace it. But I have had in the past screen protectors start to peel up on the edge or get a bubble going along the edge. Since they are flexible, they can peel back or snag. I've seen the glass protectors before online and they seem to stick better since they aren't flexible and though a few scratches won't made it impossible to read, they do get annoying.

Just buy a high quality matte screen protector, that way you won't get grubby finger prints all over it and it will protect it from scratches. :good:
Xgear is in the process of making one now. It's not gorilla glass that I know of but is tempered glass. I had one on my Gnex and loved it!

Gorilla Glass is a trademark of (I think) Corning so unless they make it it won't be GG. I've used tempered glass protectors on camera viewfinders before and been very happy with them but it would be a huge pita trying to fit one to a Nex7 without bubbles/dust/fingerprints underneath and fitting it straight. Better to buy a heavy duty plastic type one and replace as and when needed. My preference is for matt.
I Would agree that a glass screen protector will not Place any added protection over a brand name heavy conventional screen protector. When you see these devices with a cracked screen . The cracks are always from the edge . Caused by the bezel hitting the screen. I would say as others Put a very thick screen protector and a rubber case on it.. I am using the amzer impact resistant case. It will help minor dings. but still not thick enough .. I been watching the bobjgear case site. i LIKE THE look of the round frame to protect the device..
The glass of each have the advantage of feeling like glass. They are also harder to dent and scratch that a film protector.

Spigen also makes a brand called GLAS.t that's tempered glass. Not sure if they have one for the Nexus 7
Thanks guys!
I don't see how a glass SP would solve anything outside a normal screen protector. I recommend a matte for its fingerprint resistance but sounds like you want a crystal transparent.
Gorilla glass aint all its cracked up to be. There isn't a big enough bevel on the N7 thus it'll sit taller then the rest. Sorta like a watch with a dome glass. It'll be more open to scratches and catch stuff for scratches and breakage.
Honestly I'd recommend one from SGP but not the glass. Theirs are much thicker then normal to provide more protection.
Do you think that if the gorilla glass breaks that it won't scratch your real screen with removal. I don't want to think of scrapping broken glass off my nexus. The impact alone would probably scratch up the actual screen or worse.
Grab yourself a TPU case and a quality SP from SGP and you'll be fine with the kids. My 5 year old has his own Galaxy 7 and beat it all up... but the device itself looks great.
I just don't see the benefit here. I also don't think anyone makes those for tablets... and if they did it would probably be costly.

Glass protectors on S6E is not fit very well and reduce responsiveness. I recommend to find a plastic protector with oleophobic coating.
Yeah thanks but what do you think about this on the link?? Can i put 2 plastic screen protectors will the digitizer work, touch responsivness? And if you know some screen protetor brands i dont want the flat only part i want to cover the edges
One more question
How does the plastic one protect phone? Just from scratches or and cracks?

Plastic films protect the screen from minor scratches. You should aware genuine Samsung clear view covers scratching the phone which they are supposed to protect. I don't think tempered glass can protect dropped phone. To me, the advantage of tempered glass is its feeling being the same with phone screen because they are all glass, so easy to swipe. I bought this link and happy with it (located in Australia). I purchased several temper glasses and plastic films but each has its limit. The one I recommend to you is perfectly fit, responsive and fluid. However, its oleophobic layer doesn't work very well.

How many here got tempered glass instead of regular screen protector?

Hello,
So I have had been using Jettech tempered glass for my Note 5 since I got it last year and recently saw a crack on it and I was like how the heck I was like let me see if it's on the screen and
lol the whole thing cracked.
So I had a set of screen protectors at home for note 5 and I put that one. Now it's thin and doesn't even feel like there anything on the screen and the screen looks so beautiful colors and all but I'm worried-do we really need tempered glass protectors?
I've seen knife tests and all and this phone survives without any struggle so shouldn't this screen protector be enough?
What do you guys think? I do have a Spigen case on it-with in-built shock absorber and what not.
It depends on how anal you are. I assure you you will get a scratch at some point.
I got tempered glass because I didn't want a peice of plastic. Recently I watched a video about tempered glass and saw tempered glass can take a hit. If the tempered glass is hit at a specific way/angle then it shatters. But it can defiantly take a hit and prevent scratches

I understand but my question is should I get tempered glass or I'm fine with screen protector I have.
I already put one on but it's not tempered it's the regular one. Not sure how durable this is but my screen definitely looks better lol maybe because it's not that thick haha
Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. If you have a decent lip on your case I don't think the glass buys you a whole lot. With a slim case without much lip, I think they have saved my phone's screens a couple of times.
I'd say go for glass. Plastic is plastic. Glass a few dollars more for a reason)
Tempered glass here

I got the zagg plastic xtreme I think...comes with front and back protect.
It is nice on the back too...no more fingerprints.
I don't have any scratches yet. I can sort of rub light scratches right out...kind of cool.
Tempered glass will give you the height protection against scratches and impact, better clarity, last longer, better feel in hand sometimes better feel then the glass phone itself, less fingerprints. Tg is also better then a "shatter film" because it has better ratio between scratches and impact resistance.
There is no debate here...
I have tempered glass just because its clearer than plastic and is easier to clean. Its not super thick so i dont really mind also for the extra protection on such a exspensive phone.

Tempered glass is the best way to go. It provides better protection, is very hard to scratch, doesnt impact optics, and is easier to apply. No brainer.
I'd stick with what we all know, tempered glass. Just purchased the Note 5 from a private party seller and luckily it didn't have many scratches from the previous owner NOT having a screen protector on.
Purchased the glass and am loving it.
They're cheap AF on amazon and as good of quality as the $50 ones in stores.
Well I dropped my phone from pocket height yesterday, it fell face down, and sure enough I seen a crack across the screen. I am using the caselogy that covers the edges, so when I peeled back the tempered glass...it was just the temperd glass cracked. Ordered a new 1 on eBay for 5 dollars, this glass lasted 4 months
Ok guys- even though when I bought the phone new I had tempered glass on it and I was just lazy to order another one since I already had regular screen protector with me.
I'll order one - It's by company JTtech - 9.99 on Amazon prime.
I just got lazy and to be honest- the tests on youtube shows that the bare screen of the phone is very resilient so I shrugged it off.
I'll order it today. I also have Spigen case on with raised edges.
I've got about 6 different tempered glass screen protectors because I can't stand the feel of the plastic screen protectors...
Mind you the screen on my note 5 is a freaking joke. I went about a month without a screen protector and my screen is scratched to all hell. And that's just from pocket use... So in the end it doesn't matter which one you go with, just use a screen protector.
It's not entirely how anal you are. I haven't used them in years and never had a problem because I would always keep my phone in a pocket which I was sure was empty. However I tried an oleo phobic tempered glass screen protector from Benks. It is hard to get it on perfectly, but it is great in that the screen is much more slippery for the swipe keyboard usage and also it never shows fingerprints on the screen any more. (Also this is not as important but I like it that it removes/hides/covers up the obnoxious 'Samsung' logo.) If you but them, buy more than one because if you mess up putting it on then you have a spare (which you would eventually use anyway). I recently dropped my phone for the first time and freaked out - but my case and the Benks tempered glass protector together completely protected the phone - with a big crack across the screen - which disappeared when I peeled off the protector!

Tempered glass screen protectors are the way to go. The only way tempered glass can crack or break is if the edge or corner is hit (I should know, i work with tempered glass everyday) and since these protectors are so thin, there is only a fine edge on it, nearly impossible to hit with something, even though i had something hit that fine edge at work. i get all my tempered glass protectors off Amazon, $4 - $7, as compared to $35 for a Zagg temp glass protector in stores, or even $25 for a plastic protector.
Tempered glass is best
But does anyone have the halo? I put mine on perfectly centered and I've got a hell of a halo. I was wondering if there's no halo with a plastic screen protector. That would be one reason to vote for plastic.

OP3 screen protector

Hello guys, in the past i bought the orzly tp v1 but i was really dissappointed from the quality, it was thick and spoiling the touch smoothness.
I decided to give a try to a normal screen protector that is thin and hard to notice. The only demand is that it covers the whole screen body (screen(edge 2 edge) + top/bottom black glass) and i prefer to not be liquid installed. Do you have something in mind that actually worth the money? Pictures if you have one installed are appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The orzly tempered is pretty bad but the normal one is good, it fit the screen well and it cover the top and the bottom, but the borders are not covered, just like the stock screen protector, and I don't think you will find any screen protector that cover the whole screen.
I am talking about this one : https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B01H7BTSM0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And sorry no pictures, because my OP3 itself is the only device that I have that takes decent picture
Have anyone tried Pleson's, IQ shield's or skinomi's? Also the matte protectors have any downsides?

Supposedly the IQshield is the best for the OnePlus 3 period and covers the most of the screen without bubbles and the rainbow effectLook somewhere in the forums you'll find the thread. Wish I got one, my screen cracked because my screen protector didn't protect the whole surface of the glass.

I tried the Pleson, got a refund as it started pulling up from the screen. I've got the IQ Shield right now; smooth feel, doesn't slow down swiping on the screen very clear and transparent. I'd like to get a good TGSP, for shatter resistance.
I was thinking of just using a dbrand skin as a screen edge protector, because the edges are what take the most abuse.
On the pros it will look good if the right one is chosen and installed well. Might provide better shatter resistance than a thin plastic film on an edge impact. The thin film isn't designed to resist impact. I see it covers the edges quite well.
On the cons dbrand won't protect the whole screen. IQ requires a wet install, which makes me nervous.
I submit my thoughts to you for discussion. Thanks in advance.

Dbrand skins wont protect your phone much from drops, mostly from scratches and minor drops not involving cement/ceramic or any material harder than aluminum. All it took was 6 inches from a ceramic floor to shatter my screen with a screen protector and a dbrand skin

Samsung S9+ Official Screen Protector on Note 8

Have anyone try this one yet? I can't really find a really good screen protector for my Note 8. I found this...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnYkT5Egguw&frags=pl%2Cwn
Its PET (Plastic) and its like tempered glass but with full touch response.
This is a foil so nothing WOW... There are better products especially GLASS with full adhesive

No. You can't compare the two. The PET is nice for being more flexible so it doesn't "shatter" like tempered glass.
I prefer getting tempered glass to absorb actual impact from sharp objects then dissipate it otherwise.
no, last time i used this screen protector, my s8+ glass crack , 1 meter falling on floor
Anyone tried the pure gear hd tempered curved full adhesive glass?
