Hello,
I've been looking for a third-party application that allows you to use the physical buttons whilist the touch screen is disabled.
That would allow you to use your camera in wet conditions, I know that the XZ1 is not meant to be used as an underwater
camera, but it should at least function correctly in the rain.
Does an application like that already exist? So far I've not found one that functions as I'd like it to.
It would be amazing if someone ported the Sony Xperia Z2/ZR Touch Block application to work with the XZ1.
There's just one thing I'd change in Touch Block, I would love it to have the feature to hide the on-screen clutter.
Thanks in advance!
Kevinpar
EDIT:
I just found out, that Touch Block is included with all stock roms since KitKat, I previously had a custom rom installed which apparently did not include that small application.

Have you tried searching here on XDA yet?
Because this is what I found by simply searching. The first link even.

Yes I have, there are currently no working versions of Touch Block for the XZ1 from what I know.
At least for KK 4.4.4, and I am almost certain, that it's not even available for 4.4.2
I've installed several different builds of the application on my XZ1, none have worked flawlessly yet - FC etc...

That's really weird, because I had Touch Block as one of my Small Apps ever since the update to 4.3 or 4.4. I'm pretty sure because I used my phone underwater already
According to my linked XDA post, that particular version should work on the Z1 though. Do you happen to have root? The only thing I could think of is that you may have conflicting software somehow, causing the FC.

Just to be sure, I tested that particular version again, I am currently on stock deodexed and rooted 4.4.4, fresh install, so I should not have anything interfering with the application. I've also tried the same .apk, when I was on 4.4.2, no luck. Besides, the topic you referred to, is about a version, that was originally meant for JB 4.2.2. If you go on the 2nd page of the linked thread, in the linked thread, you'll find that it stopped working after the JB 4.3 update, even on Xperia ZR devices, which was the device, it was built for.

I've never done this before but I think I extracted the .apk file that works on my 4.4.2 Xperia Z1. I'm curious whether you're able to install this now (as I don't know if this the correct way to extract .apk files). But it's worth a shot I suppose. I mean, it's the app that I found in my system/app folder so it could work :silly:

EDIT: I updated the OP, pretty dumb of me not to check the pre-installed small apps... You're getting a +1 for trying to help!
Hi! I received my Z3c yesterday and I've noticed that it doesn't have the Sony notes app (and widget) that I have on my Xperia L (and probably other Sony devices from that period)... I can install it on the Z3c but when you want to create a note, it crashes...
Maybe someone could try to make it portable to the Z3c?
Thanks in advance!
yeah i miss that too...i finded the apk but without widget...
Hi, I am currently using a Xperia Z3 compact Model D5803. I received a OTA update to install Lollipop Yesterday and although my first instincts didn't like it or should I say I preferred 4.44 instead, I seem to be getting to grips with it and it may just stick with me. However I have two major concerns.
1. The Phone Dialer - I don't seem to like the way it looks - I much prefer the one in 4.44 - If you look at the screenshots I attached, when you need to make a call you actually have to press the call button, and then press the little orange button before the dial pad opens. And then the look and feel of the Dial Pad I pretty much annoying. Now my question - Is there any way to change this, I have also attached the screenshot of how it used to look on 4.44, smooth and eye catching. I have heard a lot about modding and rooting etc.. but I am very new to all this. So if someone could please shed some light on this if there is anyway for this to be changed. .
2. Also I have witnessed a significant drop in my battery. I used to get 2 full days if not more by 4 to five hours. Now it seems like I may be lucky if id just manage to see a full day out. Has anyone else experienced this? what could be the cause and what can I try to rectify it?
Help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Ihsaan

Hi,
It is completely the opposite for me. I don't like the Lillipop Sony Dialer and I would like the Google stock lollipop dialer.
I use ExDialer and is execellent also with groups
MrPingle
This is annoying me aswell. Im thinking bout extracting the dialer from cm12 and try to replace the sony one but i guess that it wont work that easy. I guess the Sony dialer is well integrated in the system.
[Edit]
I extracted all the phone modules from cm12 and just went to install them like normal apk. Install gave me error. My guess is that the stock dialer and contacts etc already takes the name for the apk. So i guess one could remove the stock dialer and replace it via flashable zip or something like that. Just got my phone running fine again so im not willing to test quite yet
[Edit2]
Tried fiddeling with ExDialer but i dont like that app. Got some theme that looked ok and went to call a friend. When call is made the stock dialer appears and makes the call. Ugly.
Hi all,
Does anyone know if there is any good roms with later Z series camera ported and no google apps? I tried browsing the forums here to find some good alternatives, but I have not been able to locate the ideal rom yet.
I have had problem with all CM based roms that touchscreen gets unresponsive randomly, so I'd really like it if you can suggest non-CM based roms for me. Previously I used ihackers, which was GREAT.

Thanks for the link. This is what I'm running right now.
But I'd really like it if someone made a version of this where all the Sony and Google services/apps were optional instead of already installed. I want my Xperia to be without facebook integration etc.

Hi all I have been using this Camera apk on stock nougat and seems to work good. Can people test it on custom ROMS and see if it works.

Really Bugy on stock Nougat for me...
What bugs have you found ? I can't find any.
After Switch cameras the camera button moved from middle of the screen more and more to the right! Everytime I switched camera it moved right until it moved away
Really funny app....
And after restart the app the other buttons are broken need to kill the app from task manager to got it back working...
Removed it...
Button moved for me when l first installed it but it hasn't happened since. It's a good camera.
Please can somebody test this on LOS 14.1
