I'm hoping someone can help me. I've got a LS991 on zv6. I put the device on my account. And reset the phone (##786#) so that the device can do OTA. It does. After the activation it does a prl update and then does a reboot. After the reboot though it starts the whole activation process again. Prl again too. Then another reboot. And it goes on an on.
Can someone please help me? No I cannot take it to Sprint. I'm hoping for an alternate solution.

I picked up an Sprint HTC One that had been flashed to NTelos (East coast carrier) and would like to flash it back to Sprint. I called Sprint and they verified that the IMEI # was clean and could be activated back onto sprint. Honestly I am not looking to activate the phone on sprint but temporarily to T-Mobile and shortly to a UK Cellular company. We are only in the US for another 12 days and I think that having the phone on Ntelos will potentially mess up the global capabilities of this phone. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Get root then sim unlock the device. It wont screw up anything. (If you want to sim unlock, there is a guide in general.)

Thanks for the info but I have been trying to get root access and it won't let me get past the recovery area. When I choose recovery it doesn't allow me to choose to install any thing, when I choose recovery it immediately does a restart with the red triangle. Please forgive me if I am missing something simple, I am still very much a noob but know just enough to get me in trouble. Thanks for the info.

It's very easy to flash back to sprint, all you really need to do is , flash a sprint prl then do ##786# then hit reset and should be good

Hi,
So I wanted to prepare my unlocked Nexus 6 on T-mobile for my brother by completely un-rooting and then relocking to setup stock firmware. With the help of “Nexus Root Toolkit” it was a quick update. I simply picked up the latest firmware for t-mobile, then relocked - and off you go.
The Phone was ok for couple of days, but then google pushed new update – which would render my phone useless. After update Initially the phone went through the boot almost to the end, and then exception happened. Something about system UI crashing and then screen was unavailable. So I could not do anything on the phone.
I tried fixing with “Nexus Root Toolkit” (unlocking, rooting etc.), but at this point the phone is stock on booting (few colored dots signifying loading), but the phone never actually boots. Going to Factory reset or Recovery does nothing.
Is there anything else I can try please?
Thanks,
-Mariusz

There's not much you can do here. If you don't have TWRP or unlocked bootloader, you should just RMA the device direct through Motorola.
You could try to sideload the update you had received that caused this.
Other than that, RMA.
I was hoping not to hear RMA - but thanks for the reply.
I rooted my LS991 and factory reset 。。。but now the phone stuck on activation 。。。 I use it outside US 。
so did there any way to skip it?

Just wait longer.
You´ll get first the qualcomm optimization blah blah
and then you´ll get an error saying it couldnt be activated.
This process took like an hour on mine the last time.
So I got a sprint sim card and it did it faster.
good luck
I went and did it. I bricked my new phone. I'm in a pickle here and need help desperately. I know I messed up the carrier folder. I have a backup of it, but don't know how to go about restoring it.
The phone turns on and tells me "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" followed by many more apps force closing.
Wifi, data, and signal all do not work. The phone reboots itself before I can do anything.
If I placed the carrier folder inside the system.img that I have backed up and ran the dd command from download mode, would it restore it?
That's just an idea I had that probably won't work. I really freaking out over this.
I've tried using the dd command on my system image already but the problem is still there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Could maybe flashing someone's carrier image work? If anyone has one I would greatly appreciate it. Please help me, I know I can't be the only person whose had this problem.
Edit 2: My wifi is actually working, I somehow didn't see the icon. But no signal barks appear for the cellular connection.
Try doing the TOT method. Completely puts everything back the way it was. if you're on android M use the ZV9 file and if youre on lollipop use the ZV6 one.
Restore with the TOT... there is a thread with instructions in the forums dev section.
From my experiences with the carrier folder. Files in the carrier folder does not get modified/restored when restoring from a tot file. It stays the same from one rom to the next. I had an issue with activation and updating my prl after doing the sim unlock from http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g4/general/guide-sim-unlock-t3229801 but I fixed that issue by changing the permission of node.db and node.db-journal to rwrwrwrw.
I got a G4 yesterday and got a working sim card and finally added to my sprint account and working. The minute I start to mess with the phone, I get hit with the bootloop. I've searched many threads and tried reflashing the ZVB tot file through LGup and lgflashtool and no success (download fail with lgflash and antirollback with lgup). I can get into recovery mode and wiping and factory resetting the phone doesn't do anything either. Can anyone please help? This is literally the 2nd G4 I've gotten in the last week due to the first one being tied to someone elses account. Go ebay..
