Calibrate Gyroscope - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My tablet has been dropped a few times with a good case on it. The gyroscope is out of calibration now, is there a way to recalibrate.

Did you find a solution? I'm having the same issue.

I didn't do anything, let it drain completely down a few times and charged it. Seems better.

HTC One battery calibration?

Hi everyone
I have noticed my HTC One battery calibration is way off. Is says it is fully charged, and when i pull the charger, it drips to 93%?
I have tryed a few battery calibration apps from play, but they dont seem to do anything at all.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Stefan
Do you unplug it right after the charging light turns green?
If you wait a while before unplugging it, that might be the reason it drops so quickly.
If not, reboot the phone, charge it to 100, use it till it reaches 0, and then charge it again to 100 nonstop, not 99, to 100.
This should help your issue and should be done around once a month.
There's many people that believe lithium batteries don't need this type of conditioning, but it's worth a shot

I unplug it, then it gets to 100%. But my problem is when I unplug it, it drops to 93% right away.
To fully drain a li-ion battery can damage it. But I have tried to drain it, to around 3% and the fully charge it, and that didn't help.
I'm pretty sure it's a calibration issue. But I just don't think to calibrating tools I'm using, is working properly.
Is there another way to calibrate the battery?

It's not a calibration issue. It's a safety thing. It's built into the battery and there's not much you can do about it. There's a chip in the battery that tells it to stop taking a charge once it hits 100%. One it drops to a certain point like day 90% it'll kick back in. So, once you take it off the charger and it drops, put it back on for a few minutes and it might reach 100

Hmm weird. Never had that problem with my sgs 4 or sgs 3 for that matter.

Thats why i asked if you unplug it right away. If you leave it plugged in once its fully charged, its not charging anymore. So RIGHT when the light turns green, take it off the charger, and it shouldnt drop to 93.
And you havent seen it on the S4 or S3 because they continually charge even at 100, be grateful that the HTC One has an intelligent charging chip which lets you charge it overnight without damaging the battery.
Its not a problem, its a good thing..

I have tryed taking it off the charger right after it shows that it´s fully charged, and it somehow still drops to 93%
I have owned sgs1, sgs2, sgs3 and sgs4. And I have never had any problems with the battery getting damaged because of overcharging, it stops charging at 100%, like it should be.
It shouldn't stop at 93%?. To me that's not a good thing at all. And that I have to remember to unplug it, and plug in the charger again to get the last 7% on the battery, ain't a good thing either.

My earlier comment about bad timing, what it meant was that maybe you have just been unlucky and have pulled the phone off when it was no longer near 100. Bad timing.
I haven't charged my phone to 100 for a while, so I can't really report on the behaviour of my phone, but the battery in the phone is fairly advanced compared to the average battery. I would expect that it may even have some life-extension features that removable batteries lack. These features, not problems, will be trying to limit stress to your battery ie. trying to keep the battery away from "100%". But if you continue to have problems getting it close to 100, maybe the calibration really is off.
I would discharge all the way until the phone shuts off. You say you haven't done that because you don't want to damage the battery, but "0%" isn't actually 0%. You will stress the battery, like you would by charging to "100%", but you won't damage it. Really that is the one clear option I see that is left in regards to your question.
Or... Don't charge your phone so high. The battery is good enough to last on less than "100%". Your battery will like you for it. It'll extend it's lifetime.

ataft answered it pretty nicely. But honestly, stop comparing the phone to all your sgs's. With those phones, the battery is prolly less efficient than it was when you first got it, due to continuous charging at 100% etc. But theyre all replacable, so theres no issue. With the One, you cant replace the battery, so HTC has implemented as many features as possible to extend the life of the battery as much as they can. Thus is stops at 100%, which is a huge plus point for me, since i like charging over night. So that being said, when my battery reached 100 and i unplug it, it stays at 100 and works properly. Since yours drops to 93, and youve tried a bunch of things to try and fix it, it could honestly be a faulty battery..if the phones still brand new, this might be the case. Other than that try what ataft said, bring it down till the phone turns off, and charge it too 100% again

Of course I'm gonna compare it to other phones I've had. Removable or non removable battery.
I've also had the nexus4, with out me having any problems getting a full charge out off the battery.
Anyway. I'll try to fully discharge the battery, until the phone shuts off. And change it up all the way.

i mean because youre saying the fact that is stops charging at 100% is a issue, you shouldnt compare it to your older phones, because theres a really good reason why the HTC One implements that feature..but thats besides the point, cause it might honestly not even be the reason behind why your phone drops to 93%.
How old is your One?
After draining the battery until the phone turned off, and giving it a full charge, it seem to have fixed the problem. I have charged it 3times since and now it doesn't drop.
So it was a calibration issue!

Battery calibration, as already mentioned here, is the solution.
Let the battery drain till 0% and charge the phone to 100% at once.

Thanks but the reason i posted is because i have read the post and tried it and it did not work, So I am asking if there is any other way to do.
Also note, that it's not finished charging when it gets to 100%. Let is sit for another half hour to make sure that it tops up fully.
I experience same issue... When it charged until 100% then unplugged, it quickly drop to 90%

Dropped my beloved in water

I can't imagine she still works after this! She was under there first for three seconds, but when i tried to rescue her i accidently dropped her one more time. So she was under there for even three more seconds.
After she had dried up under a 50 degrees Celsius fan for a couple of hours she actually worked flawlessly.
I pulled here apart and it seems she is completely dry on the inside.
Hope she stays in this working condition for the future also.
Anybody else experienced this with their beloved ones? What have you done to bring her back to life?

experiment
A few months ago I deliberately submerged my i9305 in water whilst playing music
screen flashed and music playing, so took battery apart
surprisingly after drying for 30 min. it was working flawlessly no problems at all:victory:
so I tried 1 more experiment, this time charger plugged in music playing.
screen flashed led went crazy. Again took battery out, but this time put it in the preheated oven.
again it worked perfectly, checked inside all parts were intact no damage
I did make a video I'll see if I can find it to upload
I wont suggest trying this but rest a sure that if it drops in water it'll still be OK:good:

I'm sure you had lots of fun, but why on earth would you do such a thing to your phone?
Mine got a little unstable the last day. Some strange screen
behaviour. So i got some money from the insurance company, and i bought a note 3. I think that may be a good path to go from now.

OP3T freezing issues (freezing - low sub zero temps :) )

Hi I encountered recently 2 weird issues with my OP. It is around -10 C degree outside and I was out for a walk, took the phone, it was charged to 65% and wanted to take a photo but after pressing shutter the phone shut down and I couldn't turn it on, first it was trying to boot but shut down again and then only information about very low battery and to charge it first.
This situation happend already 2 times.
Is it normal? I cannot operate the phone in -10C? My HTC and Nexus were all fine even in lower temps, i was just getting inforamtion that I cannot use flash for camera as the temperature was too low but otherwise it was working fine.
Where are you keeping the phone when not using it? Try a pocket close to your body, to keep it warm. Li ion batteries (and most battery types) discharge much more quickly when very cold.
I had my phone on me while skiing. Probably close to the temps you are talking about. I kept my 3t in a chest pocket, under my jacket, and took it out occasionally to take photos. It worked fine, and the battery kept charge all day, no problem.
I keep it in my jeans pocket and sometimes at down jacket pocket so should be fine. Either way I never had a problem with low temperatures. It shut down also when I was skiing the other time. I understnad when it discharges, the status should just show lower battery, not just shut down from 65% and why it was after I press the shutter? I am on stock so there is no firmware crash probably due to modding.

-40c is seriously low for current battery technology to function normally.
Also, where do you live?

Huawei P9 Battery Issues

So basically i'm pretty sure my P9 is dying
The phone has been freezing and dying at anything from 20%-30% still left, but when i go to turn the phone on its completely dead, at 0% and wont make it past the splash screen.
When i plug my phone in to charge it after its died, it starts charging at 40%-50%, its completely unpredictable.
If anyone could help me out that would be great,
Thanks in Advance
I am struggling with this issue too.
One obvious problem causing that issue the dying battery. The older the battery gets, the lesser its capacity. There is no turning back from it. Everything is born, lives and dies; and the cell phone batteries are no exception.
So since we cannot fix that, one might want to see at least the indicator showing the battery level correctly, so he/she do not encounter unwanted situations. To achieve that, you might want to simply calibrate your battery. There is plenty of ways to do this. Look it up, it's everywhere on internet. There is no guarantee it will work %100 perfectly but hey, that's at least something to do!
I have faced same problem with mine P9, and replaced oem battery about month ago and now is same as first day Still strong cellphone for everyday use and multitasking.

The latest comment indicates that a battery replacement worked well. I'll book my phone in, hopefully it works.

I think the OEM Huawei battery for the P9 is not very expensive.
I had the same issue, replaced the battery
and it is good to go.

Battery issue question

So, it's been 2 weeks since I got my p20 pro and I'm really loving it.. It's good looking, fast, the camera is awesome.
But I've one issue, well, I'm not really sure it's an issue, but here it is;
The first two days of using the phone the battery was PHENOMENAL.. With SOT of 4.5 hours with 50% of the charge still remaining (4G and GPS on, streaming videos and music.. Photographing, etc) .
But after that it took a hit.. Now I get 3 to 3.5 hours with 50% of charge (battery saving mode on) .. And I don't know what happened exactly.. Is it something I'm doing? Is my charging habit wrong? I'm charging it once a day and I wait until it gets under 10% then charging it to 100%. Is that wrong? Is it a hardware issue that requires me to replace the phone.. Is it software? I don't know.. Here are screenshots for the two cases.. Please help.. Thanks in advance

Hi!
Follow the below steps.
Phone manager>Do optimise>tap on battery icon>Optimise battery usage. And dont let any apps to run in background. Using auto start manager you can control the apps which are running in the background.
and please post the battery usage details and check which app is consuming more battery & kill the apps which are consuming more battery.
Hopefully it would help.
I was getting 7.30-8 hours sot in first 2 weeks. But now i can get 6 hours top. I heard this from a lot of people. I dont know why this is happening but probably it s about AI.
