Hi,
On Wednesday I rooted my SM-T810 (with Android 5.0.2) with cf-autoroot and after that I installed TWRP from this XDA forum.
I took a Nandroid backup and then I installed the CM12.1 root from T_I.
It worked perfectly.
But now after I switch the tablet off and on it doesn't get past the Samsung screen.
I can go to download mode and I then I am able to flash cf-autoroot again with Odin.
After that it starts up, but the problem occurs again the next time I power the tablet off.
I can flash the tablet with a Samsung firmware from SamMobile, but I also have a LG G4 and an older Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 both with CM, so I really would like to keep using CM.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Disable cm root in developer settings.
No, that didn't work either.
I reflashed a sammobile image, but still the same issue.
Then I installed twrp 3.0 and could boot to it (through download mode).
I reinstalled CM12.1 and it works as long as I don't switch the tablet off.
Unfortunally I cannot return it, because of the knox trip counter.

Have you tried flashing stock firmware from sammobile with odin? It should fix all problems and you should boot.

Yes, that didn't work.
I think it cannot erase the volumes back to stock?
ok, I fixed it by restoring the full Nandroid backup.
It is booting and working again.
I think it must have been an issue with the boot image or so.
I'll start over with CM12.1 next weekend...

You had a nandroid backup but didn't use that first? :sly:

Yeah, sorry.
I didn't expect that that would fix this boot problem, because this restore already has superSU installed.

A nandroid almost always fixes the issue if it was made from a working system.

Okay guys so I just rooted my att note 3 that was completely up to date using the towelroot.com method found here. Stupidly of me I was trying to follow a thread to change my system language in build.prop but after doing that It ONLY boots to recovery / safestrap. After the safestrap screen I tell it to continue to boot normaly and all i get after that is a black screen.
Any ideas? Is it possible to flash safestrap from odin / heimdall / recovery?
Ive tried factory resetting from safestrap and recovery and that didn't change anything.
I not even sure I have safestrap at this point I can get into recovery, and download mode but it sits at the "Samsung Galaxy NOTE 3 [Unlocked Icon] Custom" screen. It wont actually progress to the safestrap.
Before I tried to edit that build.prop the root / safestrap worked fine all day today, restarted several times for different reasons and still worked afterwards.
I had no encryption enabled.

Possibly? this as a fix?
Would this be okay to use as a stock Kitkat firmware resource for an Odin flash?
Anyone have a N900AUCUCNC2 ROM or firmware I can flash?

i have the .zip files for it and odin 3
*it sounds to me like a bootloop or a softbrick, I would recommend using this odin 3 and flash the stock kk rom the one i have is the unofficial and is pre-rooted. but it works when i bricked mine repeatedly trying roms.

That'd be awesome if you could get that to me some how. I more or less have everything fixed but the wake-up after entering my pattern lock is ungodly slow so I'd like to possibly try a different one.

I can't seem to find a process for backing up my current "stock" setup, then rooting it and installing TWRP and ROM's.
I had a G2 previous to it getting kitkat and had done all of this with that, fairly easily too...but can't seem to find the same process to do it after the kitkat update (4.4.2)...?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to root it (using ioroot), install a recovery (using autorec) then you can back it up.

This worked to get twrp on it thanks! ks (i was able to eventually get it rooted using ioroot and did a nandroid backup), i am however not able to flash a new rom (using cm's latest nightly for the vs980 now...going to try the snapshot next, but the nightly just fails almost immediately and i did have twrp fix permissions????
thanks again!
EDIT: And crap, stuck in a boot loop...said it flashed the snapshot ok, almost immediately, rebooted and boot loop.

It's official, I'm bricked...lg logo boot loop, nothing else. Somehow in the process my nandroid and twrp backups no longer show up in twrp either (have to do the factory reset (hold down vol down and power twice, then power twice to confirm reset)...I've looked in the backup folders using twrp file manager and the folders have lots of stuff in them (not sure if it's correct stuff though?) and the folders are named as I named them when I did the backups...also, most other data seems to be on the phone and only 13gb's free according to twrp, so has to be a "system" there, but just get boot loop...
I've since read that the cm builds dont work on 24a kk 4.4.2 vs980; results in boot loops, but I can't get adb to work either so I can't even download a different rom to get it going...
I'm stuck...way stuck....

Did you use jackpotcalvin's cm11? If not then you're in a bootloop because the official cm11 for our phone users 4.2.2 kernel base, whereas jpc's uses kk kernel.
Can you get into download mode? If so, return to stock using kdz or tot method (I've used tot, fairly easy).

ADB Sideload may work for you.

Are their currently any kernals which support marshmallow now? I installed emotions kernals but the wifi doesn't work and I do not know how to get back to stock kernel.
Thank you

Using an N910t3 I flashed emotion MM rc25 , confirmed wifi didn't work, tried the data fix it put me in a bootloop, luckily I had made a complete backup in TWRP and restored it already, just want to warn anyone else before they try it.
You should keep A backup of the original the "boot" partition in twrp. In TWRP>Backup>select "boot" only. That keeps the stock kernel.
I haven't tested any alternative kernels personally.
I feel that the stock MM kernel is doing great.
MM works fine. I'm waiting for MM kernel
I had a few problems with Marshmallow but finally installed the latest PG2. My phone N910T boot looped and caused some problems but eventually I finally had a working 6.0.1 stock. I installed TWRP and SuperSU SYSTEMLESS and used the phone for 2 days.
I tried flashing Beastmode and Emotion kernels but neither worked and I was stuck in a boot loop. Eventually I tried to reinstall stock without a wipe as this always works and keeps my apps etc.
The stock said the md5 checksum was invalid even though it was the same file from 2 days earlier. To fix this I removed the file extension, preventing it from doing the MD5 check and attempted to install. It bricked my phone as the process appeared to stop at halfway and I aborted. I found modem and bootloader files for PG2 and took a shot at installing them. I got to another bootloop.
I tried the stock tarfile again and was a little more patient this time. The previous delay was only a few minutes long. It installed succesfully. I Installed TWRP with ODIN, followed by a systemless root in recovery mode.
I'm currently waiting for MM kernels. I hope my little adventure helps somebody else on their journey.

I don't know. I've upgraded bootloader in the past without issues. There seems to be issues surrounding mismatched modems and bootloader recently.

Somehow I softbricked factory resetting my device and cannot find official software for it anywhere. It is the T-Mobile T818T.
It keeps rebooting into TWRP and won't go into system at all. Smart switch doesn't recognize it. So I need the Odin file.

I am not sure if the odin file is available for this model. Try a 'Format Data' from TWRP, in case if it is related to encryption.

If you can't find the firmware, make a backup and put it on your computer. If you ever screw up the firmware you will thank yourself.
I just received a Galaxy S2 SM-T810 running Nougat. It appears to be in perfect condition. I have Odin 3.1.2. and TWRP twrp_3.1.0-1_sm-t810_13317.tar. I have been unable to get TWRP installed. I have made multiple attempts, and it keeps the stock recovery.
Can anyone tell me why this is failing? Odin says it was successful. Any help would be appreciated. :crying:
Thanks in advance.

I have flashed TWRP on quite a few devices.
I kept getting a weird screen instead of TWRP and I used ODIN 3.12.3 and TWRP 3.1.0-1 and then tried 3.1.1.1 that failed too. I finally ended up using ODIN 3.12.5 and TWRP 3.1.0-1 I also had flashed the tablet back to 6.01, and then back to 7.0. When I tried to use ODIN to reflash directly to 7.0 again it basically didn't do anything so I had to flash backward first. I think the partitions for my stock ROM were somehow messed up, and flashing back to 6.01 and then back up to 7.0 fixed it. Even with that, I had to use the older TWRP 3.1.0-1 I think that was the worst time I ever had getting a device rooted.

Google's new API might have something to do with that. I'm not sure. Did you end up getting a systemless root on the device with 6.0 and above
