Hello,
Sorry for this question but I have searched the interwebs to no avail. I have a stock rooted T-Mobile Galaxy Tab. I simply downloaded Clockwork Recovery form the market like I have done on my Galaxy S phones but I get the Signature Failed message when I try to boot into CW Recovery. I think it has to do with the stock recovery version on the Tab. I have no idea how to get this to work. I found some old threads that talked about it but all the download links are now bad. Could someone please give me a hand so I can get CW working.
Thanks a ton!
David
You will have to root then flash the chainfire kernal. It's in the development section.

TWRP 2.8.0.0 won't start
Hello all,
I've tried to flash TWRP 2.8.0.0 from novafusion on my GT-I8190, never touched (without root or custom rom) via Odin.
It flashes ok, restarts, but when I try to enter Recovery mode, the Android stock system recovery starts.
I've did it twice: once with Odin 3.07 at PDA line, once with Odin 3.10 at AP line.
In download mode, I can see that system status is now modified from Samsung to Custom, and binary download is at 2 counts now.
Any ideas why TWRP won't start?
Thanks

Hi New Macław, would it be much of an effort to make the next TWR version workable for the Galaxy s3 mini I8200N ?=?
I understand that there is a different chip set used.

after it shows PASS, (phone reboots) take QUICKLY out battery (prevent system from booting) now wait 10 secs, reinsert battery & reboot directly to recovery using the button combo. in some cases the recovery gets allways overwritten if u get directly into system after a flash...
Hi! I messed up a bit with the TWRP installation, I flashed the wrong file. Afterward, I managed to flash the appropriate file and the phone works perfectly, but the Samsung Galaxy logo before the boot animation is now replaced with a
"grainy" image, and it bugs me. Any ideas how to fix this?
I've a Galaxy S3 mini GT-I8190 with CM11 (latest from novafusion). It had CWM recovery and I flashed TWRP 2.8.0.0 with Odin. Starting the phone after flashing enters TWRP immediately. I also can reboot to TWRP.
But if I booted to cm11 once there is no way to get back into TWRP. I only see the Samsung logo and then a black screen. Now trying to boot the system will also lead to logo and black screen.
So the only possibility to start the system is to flash TWRP again enter it and reboot from there.
Booting and rebooting cm11 are working fine if I not tried to enter recovery before.
Do you have any suggestions to fix this behavior?
I haven't been able to flash any recovery. Is root needed? There is a CSC changer that runs when recover is started; I wouldn't mind loosing that. I am thinking boot, odin and recovery are locked. Was a good thing at one point when I flashed the wrong rom and it wouldn't boot to anything but odin and recovery. I've successfully flashed 2 different roms (except for the odin and recovery parts). The rom that failed had a recovery img in it. I've tried flashing a stock recovery followed right away with pulling the battery and then did the same with twrp several times. No change.
I just want to flash one of the 4.4.x roms. Can I still do this? I might be fine since I will always have odin(download mode) and recovery. I want a newer version of android because sound is screwed up recording videos in Instagram and Everysing. This is my daughters phone. I also want to remove some of the crapware. Clean Sweep is part of the stock rom??
How to unlock recovery?
Well I did manage to flash a rooted Rom. So I have confirmed root and did a few things that required root. It hasn't helped me flash any recovery. It and/or boot still seem locked. Is there something I can do about it now that I have root? I did try an app that claimed to be able to flash recovery, but no change.
I used a terminal app and wrote TWRP to the recovery rom location. Something like mmcblk0p21. Works. Today I will be going back to stock and hopefully recovering my efs partition so I can actually use this as a phone. I had wiped everything a few times. I still just want a rom where Instagram doesn't distort the audio or go green on video uploads.
thanksss!!
After pingpong root has been achieved has anyone been able to install a custom recovery? I tried using the TWRP manager to install one and used the correct image but it seems that the locked bootloader will stop you from booting into the system or recovery partition after the recovery has been altered. I was forced to use ODIN to flash back to the stock firmware.
Root does not unlock your bootloader. Still need someone to do that if it will ever happen. Safestrap right now is the only viable solution but you need someone to port that also. Also this is a question so it goes in the question section.
This is not the right section for this thread. Please contact a mod and have it moved to Q&A where it belongs.

Hi everyone.
I recently bought a Tmobile S6 [SM-G290T] to replace the S6 edge that I just broke (yes, a sad day).
I bought it from Ebay, and it already has the lastest marshmallow update on it.
I've tried three ways to Sunday, but i cant get TWRP to stick and work on the phone.
I can root the phone with CF auto root, which is better then nothing, but I would like to get a less bloated ROM running on the phone. Im really looking to be able to Install TWRP and SU through install.
Heres what I have tried thus far (using TWRP 2.8 through 3.0):
[1] Fresh install of latest firmware [EPD1]. Install CF auto root, try to flash TWRP though ODIN. Any attempt into recovery shows recovery not seandroid enforced and just sits there at boot /logo screen.
[2] TWRP install, cf auto root, then same thing - stuck
[3] Firmware flash, twrp , then cf-auto root. 0- stuck
**I've also tried booting right into TWRP after the flash as some posts have suggested, saying it gets wiped out and you have to go right in after the odin flash.
Good news is i can get into my stock rom which is rooted.
Any help is much appreciated. My s6 Edge was on 5.11 and i had no problems getting TWRP and cf auto root to play nice and work. Then I'd flash Sick as hell and was a happy user!
Can I down grade my firmware from 6 to 5..11? Would this make it easier.
I don't care if i lose marshmallow over the deal. I just need TWRP and root for my phone.
Thanks so much for any help anyone can provide. You guys are great.

Simple flash 3.0.2.1 idlekernel twrp in odin but the Trick is to Uncheck auto reboot in Odin. Had same issue
Then power off and manually boot into twrp
It wont boot twrp on its own if Odin boots your device after flashing .
Guaranteed to work

idelkernals version of TWRP worked great. Thanks and it wasn't 100% clear that I needed a TWRP that was outside the normal channels (ie via download through TWRP).
Looks great and making my backups now in preparation of ROM flashing.
Happy days! 100% thanks again!
Hi everyone may you please help .
I have a rooted Samsung S6 G920T, I installed the Official Twrp App from the Play Store as well as the busybox recommend by the app with the ADB app. So I downloaded the TWRP image for my phone rebooted the phone afterward, I am not sure what I did afterwards as I was driving and not concentrating as I am new to this development field.
My phone has been stuck on downloading mode since then. I have tried using odin to flash the recovery image with no success.
Please help as I am out of options now
