As soon as a ZVA tot gets leaked/uploaded, i will be doing the UltraPOP ZVA (and AOSPish). However, i'm not seeing a lot of people jumping on this new way of flashing due having to unplug the TOT upgrade in the middle of writing to their phone at 9% just to have access (if the LAF/Recovery get corrupted at all, it could leave a brick). The demand for the G4 ROMS are already getting low due to the ZVA MM update running so well and with the ability to disable most of the bloat and being able to tether by downgrade/upgrade hack with the screen pinning, not much demand. Though the thing i always miss most on the ZVA unrooted is the audio tweaks i had done and the init.d script tweaks.
Also, Kudos to the OP for being the first to have another ROM for the Sprint G4. Well done!

you can still add your init.d code by put it in init.qcom.post_boot.sh in etc like this : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byybyd_nA78MVWRvblNTYjUzV3c/view?usp=sharing

We need the tot to put all of the other booting partitions in order plus the Kernel for ZVA before we can just add a ZVA system image. Hence the ZVA TOT would do that.

Oh, i could make all the changes, i'm well versed, i just wanted to wait until the ZVA drops so i don't have to do it a second time (assuming the ZVA will be leaked as usual). I have a lot of time in all the changes i put into the UltraPOP series and the init.d tweaks will have to be redone due to them fixing the issues i had on Lollipop Kernel, now mostly fixed in Marshmallow.
/.
Nevermind i had to add fast.tmobile apn.
This ROM works well except SMS auto changes to MMS when > 150 chars. Dun know how to keep it as SMS.

Just, FYI, if you do actually pull the plug at 9% it doesn't write anything. All it does is open the port. I'm working on pulling the system.img from ZVA. I tried, but forgot my phone is encrypted so it didn't work. I'm decrypting my phone then pulling the system.img.
what sup.. can i flash this on ZVA? or i have to downgrade? also yes is there how to downgrade? sorry im new in this phone lol just got the phone...from warranty

Update: While it is true if you pull the plug at exactly the correct time, you will cause no harm, YOU WILL BRICK your phone if you do it 1 second too late. Bricked mine on Friday. Still was on 9%, but it was a few seconds too late, and it began to write. HARD BRICK. Obviously, I got a replacement, but just so everyone is warned. BE CAREFUL.

Yep, i had bricked mine this weekend before i got back on here. Just a little too late pulling the cord. LOL it's funny how i warned everyone else, but ended up bricking my own.
My phone had to go back to LG for the warranty motherboard replacement anyway, but unfortunately i am using, go ahead and laugh, my HTC Hero 3G. I have installed AOSP 2.2.1 with OC kernel to 768 mhz (single core, 540 mhz stock!). It was the first android on Sprint, originally had v1.5.
I miss the G4, but the locked BL is killing me, i might have to dump LG after this one and start going to a true GooglePhone.

NOOOOOO! Wow, that sucks bro. You didn't have Sprint TEP to just have it swapped out in a store?
I feel the same way about LG. I used to love them. Their phones are GREAT, except the fact they are locked down so hard. People are even rooting Samsung phones easier than LG now. I think I'm going Nexus on my next phone as well.

Hello, and thank you in advance for any support on my issues. I have done some extensive searching regarding my issues but am coming up empty. I consider myself a relative noob and am now facing multiple questions and issues with my phone.
Device Info:
Verizon LG G2
Rooted, stock
Android Version 4.2.2
Software Version VS98011A
I did not personally root my phone - I paid to have it done for me remotely.
I have been using Titanium Backup to freeze or remove applications and bloat.
I also have used the paid version of ROM Manager for when/if I need it - I have never personally flashed a custom ROM or Kernel, etc.
I did personally side load the HotSpotProvision apk to use the Verizon Hotspot feature with my unlimited data and it worked great.
I also have the Verizon versions of the Galaxy S5 and LG G3. I recently did a 4G LTE speed test with all 3 devices and got insane speeds (attached) with the S5 and G5 but not the G2. I tried researching whether KitKat was the reason for being able to access XLTE speeds or not but couldn't find anything definitive there either. So I decided to attempt the Verizon OTA KitKat update for the G2. Here is where my nightmare begins...
To my knowledge, no backup had ever been done to my phone unless it was done when it was rooted. Regardless, I wanted to do one before making any changes to the phone but I have a feeling I was unsuccessful. After more searches on how to perform a backup and trying 6 times with ROM Manager (unsuccessfully), I decided to try the physical key option to launch into Recovery Mode. Based on what I did find online, this method would take you to the FDR screen but not to worry and to continue because it would actually take you to the TWRP home screen. Well, it did not. My phone reset and I lost everything in my gallery, etc. On reboot, I did see that I was still rooted but not able to do the OTA (because I am still rooted, I assume?). I have done 2 more FDRs and now my phone is acting out of it's mind.
Issues:
Touch screen unresponsive or turning off/on all by itself
Contact info not syncing to native messaging app
Previously installed free or purchased apps not reinstalling (although they did after the first FDR)
Can't receive OTA
At this point, I might as well do whatever I need to do to get things working correctly since I'm already reset.
My questions are:
How can I check if I do in fact have, or don't have a backup that I can access?
How do I create a backup so this doesn't happen again?
What do I need to do to get the OTA and will KK allow me to access the XLTE band?
Can I still do a Factory Data Reset and get back to the true "out of the box" version of the phone? If so, how?
I think that's it for now!! Thanks for any help that can be offered. Cheers.

Sounds like whoever you paid to root the phone didn't install a recovery or you lost it from applying the KK OTA.
You can install TWRP using Autorec if you're on KK (4.4.2) now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
Personally I'd start clean to see if it clears up your issues, the touch screen thing sounds more like a hardware problem. If all is well after returning it to stock, re-root it yourself using ioroot/towelroot and install a recovery again and make a back up to save somewhere once you get it set up the way you want it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
Thank you very much, Matt.
KK never did get installed...I am still on 4.2.2 and every time I try to go back to stock through various methods on this site I get the attached image. I would definitely like to start with the out-of-box device again, OTA KK and re-root but I'm not even having any luck with that either. This whole project began with the thinking that I needed KK to access the XLTE network since I was getting incredible speeds with the G3 and S5...do you know if that is accurate?

Follow the directions in the return to stock guide provided, see if you can get the phone in download mode...
Install the LG Flash Tool and drivers then try this.
1) Go ahead and put phone in Download mode by VolUp + plug in USB to PC. At this time your computer should install the device, if it hadnt already. Open device manager to check if un der "Ports (Com and LPT)" it shows up as LGE AndroidNet for VZW USB Serial Port (COM##) IF the COM number is anything other than 41, which it probably will be. Right click it in device manager and choose peroperties, then go to port settings tab and click advanced. On the bottom choose COM41 and hit OK. (if you get an error about it being in use I'll write more about that later)
hit ok and all that and close out the properties.

OK, I'm on download mode, the computer installed drivers and I changed to COM41. Phone still shows "Firmware Update" screen and 0% on progress. Where do I go from here?

Yes, returns the phone to out of the box stock basically. Now if you want to re-root, you can use ioroot25 or towelroot.
ioroot25 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869
Once rooted, use autorec to install a recovery (kitkat requires some additional steps besides just flashing a recovery and it does them for you)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
Make sure you grab the vs980 version of autorec.
So I can't create a stock recovery prior to root, correct...so that I can go back to stock from root?

No, you need to root it first if you want to back it up.

sorry, I was making this way too difficult. I ran Towelroot and Autorec and I believe we are good to go. Now, when would I use Autorec...when I have an issue flashing other ROMs, kernels, etc?
How do you prefer to receive donations? I really appreciate your help...you've been great!

Autorec is a one and done, you can remove it now, it installs TWRP, that's all you need it for. You should now be able to get into recovery using the same sequence you used before if it installed clean for you. Any flashing of rom, kernels, etc would be via TWRP.
One last note, don't install any OTA's while you're rooted.
You don't have to donate anything but if you really want to, just hit the Donate to Me button under my name.
OK, thank you. One last question: it seems the touch screen may be starting to fail. If I needed to unroot or at least show unrooted to turn it in for a warranty replacement, can that be done and if so, how?

Someone asked how to dd if send command or send command lock.
I can direct unlock without root but need open diag port and here my answer for the question how to ?
Use this trick from xda with any lg g4 kdz for opening diag port http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4s-world-root-lg-devices-t3231759
Dont try to downgrade ZV5 or ZV6 TOT file, this will be make your phone bricked with qualcomm usb.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, and you say you are also HTCuser90 (the OP of this post), okay then-
As HTCuser90 - you say you don't have root, so you say you can't use the DD commands to pull system / kernel image and the Send_Command.exe is useless.
Now as user hoangps (HTCuser90) you say you can inject root for ZV8, so please inject the root and DD both partitions for posting.
Also, please list the steps taken to get the ZV8 update. Did ZV7 update first and then take the ZV8? or did you get a leak and manually update? I ask this because if it did the ZV7 update first, it may have locked it down for ZV8, we may be able to intercept the updates and keep it rooted to accept the ZV8. Of course none of this matters if you can indeed inject the root in ZV8.
Please enlighten us, because it still seems like something isn't right here.
Also user hoangps that is backing you up about the ZV8 update is a guy with only 4 posts...

On h815 wiht android 6.0 , root can be obtained only if unlock the bootloader.
On ls991 bootlodaer impossible to unlock, and you claim that you can get root, you are a genius?

I have seen this question asked but have not see a definate answer. Is it safe to go back to LP 10N after upgrading to MM 20i?
Have anyone successfully done this and how did you do it? I have seen conflicting info on here, some say yes and some say you will brick.
Why go back? First I have had issues with bluetooth and wifi, also my Wifi Tether Router app will not work since upgrading. I seem to have had better battery life also on LP.
Thanks
You can, I read someone flashed the wrong KDZ file (10N) instead of MM (20i) by accident after going to MM. His phone was alright its been confirmed but never hurts to double check.

Well, there's this: [PSA] **WARNING** DO NOT TRY TO DOWNGRADE YOUR G4 BOOTSTACK (in USA at least) - http://is.gd/UbYGLN
And this, from Hyleton who is an expert on restoring stock to LG phones: Currently with T-Mobile/H811 You can no longer downgrade past the current kdz as of 9-19-15
I'd be *very* careful about relying on something reported anecdotally, but I'd like to know because I've hard bricked LG phones in the past due to bootloader conflicts and I'm not anxious to repeat the experience. Right now the G4 I'm expecting soon is on 5.1 and I"m inclined to keep it there if I can't downgrade.

If you are in 20i you can safely downgrade to 10n, problem was downgrading from 10n to a lower LP kdz.

The only way to root and install twrp is from the following thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/stock-h811-20i-images-kdz-flashable-t3308227
Or this post here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65156874&postcount=119
P.S. @kennethrkennedy
If you did OTA or flashed the 20i kdz on top of 10n i recommend doing a factory reset, i know is painful cuz needbto reinstall everything again but that may fix a lot of issues including battery life.

DrakenFX, thank you for responding! I just want to make sure we are on the same page. I am currently on MM and have rooted with the 2nd method you listed. I am having a lot of problems such as 5mhz wifi disconnects, very bad lag in all apps & Chrome scrolling so I want to downgrade to LP. (FYI I did factory reset several times after the update).
Since I have an unlocked bootloader I am not sure of the process to revert without bricking my phone. I have searched google and the forums and only a couple of people mention successfully downgrading but don't list the method.

Seems like experience may very but in my case I'll never going back to LP , MM is been awesome so far no lags battery been great and performance been increase.
Method they have use is using LG UP Tool + 10n KDZ, you will find those tools in @autoprime 20i update thread.

This is a bit late to comment, but I updated my thread's first post to say specifically that downgrading to 10N from MM is okay. Autoprime updated his thread to state it was okay specifically also.
The anti-rollback flag is v2 on both 10N and MM, so LG won't destroy your phone by going back to 10N.
Currently mine has 6.0 and the performance is a bit better.
Battery is OK but your mileage may vary.
Simple TV or Tablo users: 6.0 fixed wierd video rendering problem.
can i downgrade if im on stock MM from lg bridge not rooted?
Well, based on multiple requests I've picked up and am now hosting the ZVB .tot file on Rwilco12.com

Note: Anti-Rollback version is incremented in ZVB. You will be unable to revert to earlier builds after update.

Just curious so forgive me, I just got my G4 the other day and I've been doing a ton of research as expected when it comes to ROMs, root, and unlocking. Let me ask you this if I can:
Since I have the LS991, knowing it's technically domestically locked to Sprint in the US, and you say your ROM is a global version, does that mean if I decide to upgrade to your ROM (of course pushing ZVB first then your ROM with the instructions you've provided) will that remove the unlock I currently have in place with the International ROM, or will I be completely stuck and dead in the water again locked up tight with no way to roll back to anything pre-ZVB and no root potential either? I can live without root, honestly the only thing I require it for is Xposed and a single module so I can control music playback with the volume buttons (can't find any other way to do it) but I can't even get Xposed installed properly on ZV6 right now either even with FlashFire.
Long complicated BS I know, sorry, the basic question: if I were to flash the ZVB TOT then flash your MellowMallow ZVB, will it unlock this LS991 I have, or... should I just stick with ZV6 and be done with it?
I believe you have an LS991 yourself but, you're obviously using Sprint so it's a non-issue whereas I want to use T-Mobile so, my primary concern is being able to be unlocked, that's a must-have thing whereas root is a no-go on Marshmallow right now anyway.

Yes, you should be able to do as you'd like. The global version unlocks the phone for GSM use. You can add and edit any apns you like. There are several people who have been using the Global version successfully. I'm not sure about using it on T-mobile, and I can't make any guarantees, but I would assume you could use it just as any other GSM carrier. I also have a ZVA version you can try. (this is marshmallow and will not prevent rollback) ZVA Version
Yah, but ZVA has no root so, no Xposed, so no button controls, etc.
Anyway, I know about the International ROM and had it working and yes T-Mobile kicks in almost immediately without any issues, but from what I read about that ROM is that the person that made it obviously customized it somewhat and I saw at least one person say the reason it unlocks GSM capability is because of some build.prop edits and I'm trying to figure out what those edits happen to be. I'd love to be able to take a pure stock ZV6 and then root it, modify it so it works like the International ROM and go from there.
The problem I'm having currently is that I can't get Xposed flashed on the International ROM for some strange reason I can't quite figure out - each time I try to flash it there's a mismatch between the architecture/platform and it craps out. That doesn't happen with the rooted ZV6, but it's happening with the International ZV6 which irks me to no end and I can't find out what's causing the issue or else I'd just stick with the International one.
If the only difference between the pure stock ZV6 build and the International version of the same build is a a build.prop edit I'm going to have to figure out what the hell that is.
I just want to end up with ZV6, rooted, Xposed installed and working, and T-Mobile access which I should be able to accomplish - the problem is finding the right combination of this, that, and whatever else to make it all come together. So far, after like 15 wipes and flashes, I still haven't figured out that perfect mix to get what I want just yet.
But thanks for responding.

Ahh, I understand! Yeah, what you need to do is replace all instances of "p1_spr_us" in builld prop with "p1_global_com". (no quotes) Also, replace all instances of SPR with GLOBAL and change target country to COM. Then add the apns. https://github.com/tabp0le/MellowMa...40e511396bc298e37fb5/system/etc/apns-conf.xml
Here is an example for you to go off of.. https://github.com/tabp0le/MellowMallowROM-for-G4-LS991/compare/global
Holy cow, a treasure trove of info, just what I'd been looking for.
So, theoretically if I make those adjustments to the build.prop, that theoretically should make the pure stock ZV6 (from the TOT since there's no KDZ, bleh) be basically the International ROM or at least function like it, I presume?
One thing that I'm kinda frustrated above was when I got this device a few days ago the previous owner had done most if not all of this already and had UltraPOP ZVA on it, and working with T-Mobile. Of course in my haste to redo everything on my own I neglected to make a solid backup of the carrier folder (it still works with the one the unlocking thread provided so I'm not dead in the water in that respect). I looked around for a "pure" LS991 carrier folder but I suppose there just isn't such a thing and yes I know they do contain some device and user specific information (account related with Sprint) so I suppose it's not a huge concern.
Last question if I can: I'm not all that familiar with attempting to edit TOT files (assuming that can be done) so, is it possible or do you believe that altering the necessary build.prop variables on the pure stock ZV6 would cause that to work the same after a reboot? Guess I'll give that a go here in a few and see what happens. Also, when you say add the apns do you mean to build.prop or put the xml file in system/etc where it should be?
Almost there, almost... thanks for the info, definitely.

Regarding the apns: Replace the apns_conf.xml in system/etc.
Regarding TOT: you can't edit the tot
What you need to do to get exactly what you want: Root ZV6. Then make the changes and reboot. Or harder way, is to edit the rootedsystemzv6.img. Mount it on your pc and edit the files. Then flash it like you would to get root in download mode with send_command.exe. You can add me on skype tabp0le
Didn't realize I could edit the .img files but then again .img being what they should be that makes sense I suppose. That's probably the best solution for me personally, edit the rootedsystemzv6.img so it's done just once and it makes things easier or at least it should if I have to redo things.
Now to find something that will not only open the img but allow me to edit/save it when done.
just wanted to share my experience in downgrading my G4's software version and want to let everyone know it's possible.
using the guide by @tabp0le here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...-mellowmallow-debloated-60fps-camera-t3358340
Depending on which current version you are on you will need the official TOT to get the process going. Once you pull your cable use the MellowMallow .img (ZVB) provided by tabp0le in his original guide and his diag commands.
I have successfully downgraded two ls991's to ZVB using this method. I do not know if this will work on other variations on the phone. THE KEY POINT IS THAT I AM VERY SURE THAT WHILE ON ZVI MY ARB WAS ON ARB 4 AND I WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY DOWNGRADE TO A LOWER software. Here's the thing, my ARB STAYED THE SAME so while ZVB is techincally ARB 2 my ARB stayed at 4.
with this in mind, you should, be able to downgrade to ZVA. I have not tested going from ZVI to ZVA so anyone willing to you will be trying the downgrade at your OWN RISK! I cannot assist you if you brick your phone but at this point I don't think too many people are worried about bricking the phone especially how cheap you can pick one up. the problem remains that you will still be on a higher ARB and the existing root methods were all done on a ARB <=2 .
quick guide (using tabp0le's original instructions):
0. if you haven't yet, read tabp0le's post, download all the files including LGUP and the official TOT for whatever version you are on (if you are on ZVI then download the ZVI.tot)
1. place the ZVB .img custom rom on tabp0le's post in your internal storage default folder. I will say the MellowMallow rom he provided is a a little buggy but the trade-off to be back pre security patch for 6.0 and unlocked sim card was worth it. make sure you use the right rom for your phone. If you have a global phone use the global rom/img. I haven't tested it yet but once you are back on ZVB you should be able to flash the official ZVB TOT so you can have a completely stock LG G4 with ZVB.
2. Place phone in diag mode by dialing ##DIAG# on dialer.
3. hook your phone into pc and change your usb mode to "charge only"
4. open up LGUP, if you have all your drivers installed from tabp0le's post then you should see your phone/version pop up.
5. select the TOT for your installed version on your phone, for me it was ZVI. hit start.
6. THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED ABSOLUTE ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Your phone will reboot. Keep an eye on the completion percent. 9% is the magic number. I would recommend watching your phone though. As soon as it says "COM XX" in green YOU PULL THE USB PLUG. if done right when it pops up, you would have pulled it right at 9%. if you are late, you risk bricking your device. However I will say that I did pull it at 11% before and all I did was replug the USB and allow the software version to update/reboot my phone. everything was fine and I attempted the whole process again successfully. if you just zone out and miss the sweet spot no worries, just allow the software to update and attempt the whole process again, DO NOT TRY TO STOP THE SOFTWARE UPDATE ONCE IT'S PAST 9%.
7. did you nail it at 9%? GREAT! continue on.
8. close down LGUP and open up a command prompt and navigate to the folder with "ports.bat" from tabp0le's post. run ports.bat. the instructions are word for word from tabp0le's post so I will just quote them.
* Now check which COM# for LGDIAG port
* Send_Command.exe \\.\COMxx
* Command to flash is listed next to the download near the end of this post.
* After you issue the command with Send_Command.exe, it should pause for about 2 minutes then go back to #.
* Type LEAVE then pull battery when complete.

here are the commands to flash based on version:
US ROM:
dd if=/data/media/0/MellowMallow_LS991ZVB_v1.04.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=557312 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0

GLOBAL ROM:
dd if=/data/media/0/MellowMallow_LS991ZVB_v1.04_Global.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=557312 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
Click to collapse
if done correctly the command will "process" for a minute, it will look like nothing is happening, but that's a good thing! wait for the # to re-appear after about 3 to 6 minutes. once it does type "LEAVE", unplug your phone and reboot.
VIOLA! you should be on ZVB! hope this helps give this underrated phone some new life for those out there who gave up on it.
to check your version, download Hidden Menu APK
open it up after install and select:

Okay! good news. I went ahead and tested flashing another (custom) rom image using above method and everything went fine! I know there aren't a lot of G4 users out there left but hey, it's something..
*WARNING* Again, this is a highly untested process, your risk for brick is very high. Know that before you proceed *WARNING*
just download whatever rom you want and place it in your root internal storage folder.
when you get to
dd if=/data/media/0/"rom_name".img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=557312 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
Click to collapse
you will, instead, replace "rom_name" with the name of the (custom) rom you are trying to install. so, for instance, your rom name is "ZVAUltra" you will use:
dd if=/data/media/0/ZVAUltra.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=557312 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
Click to collapse
for simplicity sake you can just rename the rom before you put it on your sd card to crom.img or something.
Right now, my LS991 is running UltraPOP AOSP created by @Agimax, his thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g4/development/rom-mm-ultrapop-aospish-v1-0-t3351164
Bugs:
depending on the rom, you may have some buggy responses. I now have a constant "sd card is corrupt error" so your mileage will vary with this method. working on fixing this. I have NOT tested changing android versions ( android 6.0 to 5.0, etc...) so you will be DOING SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.
edit: more bugs. Once your apps start to update, dialer codes won't work properly (can't put phone in DIAG mode), bluetooth no longer works and you'll have some issues with SD showing up as corrupt. still researching. I might attempt a downgrade to ZV6 stock rom and root (I can dream, can't I?)to see how it goes. updates to come!
the only fix for the dialer code and the other issues is to format your phone either from "backup and reset" option in settings or through recovery mode. don't let your phone update! Put it in airplane mode or take out your SIM card. if you want to return to ZVI follow the steps outlined above with LGUP except this time just allow the update to finish and your phone will be on the latest software version.
I really surprised to see almost no response for this thread. The information provided here is awesome.

hahah, thanks! I really didn't expect to get too much response here. Most people only care if I was claiming to have achieved root, which I haven't. I did manage to downgrade to ZV6, which is the "rootable" rom but the few attempts I made at rooting caused a soft-brick and I had to restore a TOT to remove the soft-brick.
A lot of this info here was done by piecing together info others provided on this site so I was passing it along in the hopes this info could help another take another step forward.
From all my messing with this method it is fairly safe, worst I've gotten on two LS991 is a soft-brick, which was easily fixed by using LGUP and a proper TOT with a factory reset. I was originally worried about testing my theory because most claimed the method of getting phone into diag mode and doing something wrong would hard-brick but I've had no such (bad) luck.

Yeah.. root must be awesome, but anybody who use LS991 shouldn't ask much, haha.
So you can go down as far as ZV6? that's impressive. Is it using the similar method?

I spoke too soon on ZV6, it will install and boot to LG logo where it will load in an infinite loop. I tried doing a factory wipe from recovery but that didn't help and I had to restore a custom ZVA rom to get back to functioning. In the ZV6 root thread they mention a infinite boot logo is normal and they did a couple things to fix it but I had no luck. I'm guessing that although the rom works the anti-rollback remains at ARB 4 and is blocking certain functions.
I'm not a dev so this is all trial and error for me. custom roms based on ZVA do work, AFAIK. If someone needed to downgrade to a rom with unlocked sim then this method is perfect, for example.

I see that.
Very nice, thanks
I used to find a method to make gsm work in a ZVI version and about to give up. Your post is really so helpful. (It's really unexpected that there still have active threads about that old model)
Are the files still available?
Hey @lokichaos I recently picked up a Sprint G4 LS991 with DVI and all I'm hoping to do is unlock it for use on Verizon. Your guide sounds like exactly what I'm trying to accomplish but all of the links on the linked guide by @tabp0le are now broken (maybe I should ask them?). Do you happen to have a copy of the various needed files? I'm fairly happy with my G2 (lol) but the G4 seems like a solid improvement.
