I have finally put together a video for installing Swype on the GTab...
GTabUnleashed.com
I did see that there may be a simpler method recently posted on the forums... but I did this successfully a week or so ago and filmed it...
it is based on the root explorer method of the oodasbobooo thread found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898851&highlight=swype
In the end, I had to copy over my build.prop file provided by It2Steve on page 4 of the thread... I dont recommend copying over files... but for me, it worked fine, and was a lot simpler than the text editing... but this result may not be the same for everyone.
In \system\app directory what is functionality (purpose) of the "DataCreate.apk"
what does it do?
what is the result of removing it?
before saying anything about searching read the below statement:
I've searched in google, XDA and other forums about this apk but none seemed to know what is it so I am going to ask here.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Inside the apk there is a sound file inside res/raw called mp3_1khz.mp3 which has very annoying sound any idea why does the app need this?
EDIT2: link to the mp3 file I was talking about http://www.mediafire.com/?2zay7j6xrlfyjs1
WARNING: The file is really annoying
Request: if the file is important can someone delete that sound file from the apk and re-upload it (JVH deodexed )
Google is watching us ? what the hell and why is there such a sound file in this ap p.... i delete it.... For me it is google spy ...

I deleted now and I am going to report if there are any negative consensuses
don't think that it is use (spying on us)
Ok
In first reboot (phone rebooted it self)
Second reboot (Email crashed)
EDIT: Doing some reboots and dalvik cache cleaning to see what will happen.
EDIT2: It seems that its needed for phone without it phone will reboot itself.
I though someone knew about this apk so I posted here.
I found what I wanted to know so this thread is officially CLOSED.
Conclusion for future reference this file is necessary for EACH boot.
However I could delete the annoying mp3 file which is 1.8mb by using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=681633
It's from Samsung. Have a look into classes.dex, there are lots of sample contacts (near the end of it). There are references to samsungtest. Maybe this app can be used to create demo or test data.
I've noticed that opening certain mkv files (and sometimes even opening a folder containing such file is enough) is leading to reboot after update to lollypop. I've used to think that this is ARHD rom or elementalX kernel related issue, but I was able to reproduce this issue on other m7 device which is completely stock and even unrooted. Is there really some bug in stock kernel? Here is file that can be used for testing (~800k, no big deal)
PS I've used Root Explorer and ES File Explorer as file managers and MX Player and BS Player during testing.
PPS I've managed to track down and avoid this kernel panic using crude patch in my custom-build kernel (drivers/video changes)
Should I report this to HTC or I'm just missing something?
Hello everybody,
this is an update for the official LG FM radio app, that in my device (and maybe also im yours) was stuck to the 6.20 version. Here it is the 7.10, with a bonus: you can install a patched version that enables radio recording in every country in the world, and also allows you to use radio while the phone is in airplane mode (the funny thing is that in the app's code, it's called "airplain" mode).
If you just want to update the app, install the com.lge.fmradio apk file as usual. If you want to enable recording and airplane mode mod, don't update but just copy the base.apk file to /system/priv-app/com.lge.fmradio folder, renaming the base.apk file to LGFmRadio.apk.
it works kinda
ok so in stock rooted lg g5 h850
the update works as is and also i was able to roll back to the 6version but the MOD does not work . I did not get any record button or smthing like that. Restarted it multiple times and gave the same RW permissions as the original file ....
Do i miss a step or smthing ? idk
On my phone it worked, the app made a folder called "FM Radio" in the internal memory and it stored there the recordings in m4a format. Is the rom you're using deodexed? Because if you have the odex files maybe the recording part of the app is loaded from there. Check if in the /system/priv-app/com.lge.fmradio folder there is just the apk file or also the odex files. By the way, I think it was my fault in the instructions: I said that you had to install the update and then copy the apk file. That is wrong: if you want the mod, don't update and just copy the apk file. I'm going to correct the guide.
You maybe know how to make it work as a Magisk module? That would be easier and better than replacing a file in system folder.
Ok now
It was the steps wrong as u said ...did not had to install the new one only copy ... Man everything works thank you for finding this . Also i saw in the apkmirror many more apks like that ( mainly updates for the apps that we have in g5 ).I think like the radio it is- was updates for lg g6 lg v20 maybe giving them more features over g5 ( to boost sales ?) Could be it ...idk really :silly . Hahah
Thanks for sharing with us

Add that u need to give the same rw permissions and UID like the original file
It may be not necessary but could be helpfull revolving small issues
Yeah, on apkmmirror there are a lot of updated LG apps that work on G5 Oreo. As fas as I know after testing them, Gallery, Contacts, File Manager, Calendar, Clock and QuickMemo work perfectly. Messages doesn't open at all, and camera opens only in Selfie mode, but crashes when trying to use one of the rear cameras.
Of course I'm talking about the latest versions that don't require Android 8.1 or above.
Issue with H830
Installed to /system/priv-app as per the instructions and also the app .apk however in the app everything is greyed out and it does not play nor scan.

Did you plug in headphones? I believe it is needed to use the wire as antenna.
Yes I did plug in headphones.
I've managed to figure out why my pixel 2XL sounds have gone/failed after freshly flashing androidQ
to my knowledge this affects the pixel2xl factory images of androidQ but it might affect other devices
thanks to skittles9823 hiddensettings magisk module,
I have found the issue but I'm unsure how to fix this, flashing a pie rom sound triggers are targeted by
/system/media/audio/*.*
but clean flashing Android 10 audio triggers are targeted to
/product/media/audio/*.*
but the audio files are located in /system/ and the /product/ folder does not contain any sound files only boot animations...
I'm a intermediate user and managed to actually point out where the fault is... but I'm unable to fix it perfectly
ideally I'd like to somehow move/copy the audio files to the product folder or have a module to flash the settings to point to the right area?!
I have used skittles9823 mod to change these settings to point to the right area but sometimes the settings seem to be reverting
or the settings dump has issues adding multiple lines to the module
IE:
lock_sound
lock_sound
lock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Lock.ogg
lock_sound=/system/media/audio/ui/Lock.ogg
possibly this is linked my a seperate battery issue after recently refurbishing my phone but certainly linked to my limited knowledge.
