Hey everyone,
Hope you all are doing good. So I wanted to ask as to how your battery life is after updating to Marshmallow as compared to lollipop?
Mine has actually gone down and I am really pissed and worried. Have posted on G+ communities asking for solutions but haven't received any worthy solution so far?
Getting slightly better battery life with MM here...
Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk
Slightly better on LP than on MM for me. I was getting more than 6h SOT before and now I can get only more than 5h. Cell standby is there most of the time and eating some ( not too much probably but still annoying) battery.
Envoyé de mon SM-N920C
Having the same problem here and still haven't found any solution
I am losing nearly 8 to 9% per hour on standby time without touching my phone on MM compared to 0.5 or 1% per hour on LO

hi,
Firstly, battery life overall on Marshmallow has been overall quite good (for me) .!
Similar to Lollipop.
But then all my Note range 2,3,4..5 has and still has, very good battery usage overall !
If i had battery " life issues" I would have done a bit of "investigating" or what is causing battery the drain?
Also, did you do a clean update or dirty?
I would also, monitor batter usage ....?
eg with a app like GSam battery app etc etc. (Play store, free app)
(Before you start blaming Marshmallow or system.)
You must also remember, some 3rd-party
apps might not been optimized for Marshmallow .. yet. ?
I have already experience this, with some 3rd party apps on Marshmallow !
If its system causing issues then remember , system apps, wifi, location always on , Facebook or some always on app, etc might be the reason.?
I would then consider taking drastic steps... factory reset and reflashing official stock Rom again.
You don't have to be rooted to do above !
Bottom line, you have to find cause /app /system app, and deal with it accordingly.
Good luck
Did you try the deep sleep fix by Dr.ketan ?
Note 5 which have knox triggered have issues going into deep sleep which will have huge impact on the standby time.
Try applying Dr.ketan fix on this page :

Hey, thanks a lot for such a detailed reply, really appreciate it.
I actually did do somewhat of an investigation after reading some posts and articles online. I am unable to find the real reason the battery time has decreased after I updated to MM. I did a clean update using ODIN to flash the latest firmware. It was the cambodian version that first came up. Later on when a Saudi Arabia version came up, I flashed that since I got my phone from Saudi Arabia. I performed a factory reset aswell and set it up from scratch.
I don't use the facebook app so I have disabled that, location is also off and wifi settings have also been optimized. When I check my battery stats, I don't see any app or any system app even that is consuming unusual amount of battery. "Screen" is always the one to use the most battery and is followed by "Cell Standby" and "Android OS".
I don't know about the third party apps much to be honest. There aren't much in my phone except for the usuals like snapchat and messenger and some other apps but none of them are consuming unusual amount of battery. I have turned on the app optimization so many of my apps are always optimizing.
If you have any more idea as to what should I do, let me know and i'll surely try it out.

My knox isn't triggered I have checked that because I have kept this phone in it's stock state since the day I got it. Previously I used to root my phones the day I got them but this time I around I wanted to see how stock will treat me so I didn't root this one.
Dr. Ketan's fix is for knox tripped devices and asks for root etc so i'll probably pass on that.
Thanks for your reply.

HI,
It's good to see you are trying. Believe me we have to pinpoint any possible "wakelocks" that you have.Only then should you be able to tackle issue. !
Have you installed even GSam battery app ? It has a section to pinpoint " app suckers".. (their wording.) (No root needed)
Have you looked at your deep sleep data?
eg a app like Cpu spy should tell you such info .? or is your device always running in a low power state .? (no root needed)
Are you rooted ?
then yes issues it can be endless .!
Anyway ,
If so ,you can install battery apps eg Wakelock dectector or Betterbatteries ,to get more info ?
Then there is apps like Greenify or your stock Smart Manager ,that can tell you a lot .or nothing ?
have you disable processes with an app "Package Disabler" if so you can have "knock on" effect .(re battery drain )
Please note ...
that the stock battery app helps, but its very basic.Your Snapchat and Messenger ,is it set to auto update .?..thus causing wakelocks ,as apps has to check Status/updates.?.(battery drainers .)
Good luck

Hey,
Thanks for your constant support. Yeah I know that is the only way this issue can be solved.
I will install GSam right now and see what it has to say.
I was thinking of looking at the deep sleep data, haven't done it yet. Will install cpu spy as well.
No I don't use my phone in a low power state.
Nope. Not rooted. Thinking of doing so, what do you say?
I haven't installed Greenify after the update. I think buying such a heavy spec phone and then limiting everything kind of ruins the whole point of it, don't you think?
Haven't used package disabler cause it confuses me as to what to disable and what not to.
Yup my apps are set to auto update. The battery app doesn't show them using too much battery though. How to disable this auto update I'm kinda unsure?

hi ,
Rooting ...its your choice ,its your device .!!!!!!
however ,i can answer you in this way .
All my precious devices , ..eg Note 2 ,3 , 4...and a Note 8.0 tablet ,is rooted and i am really enjoying the "rooting "
capabilities /power ..to do what i want ..!
That said you would notice i did not list Note5 ?
No ,its not rooted ( had device since October 2015 )
Yet ,my Note 4 ihave ,same day ..rooted .
So it depends .?
I have found no need to root Note5 ,as i am happy overall with the whole experience.!!
smoothness ,speed ,themes ,browsing experience .!!
No irritating bugs ( Just sorted the few bugs i had out ..factory resetting .)
this time it worked .(Previously ,seldom worked ,factory resetting )
I ended up always, flashing Rom with Odin to fix .
Battery overall ,
eg .sleep mode ( night time ) i get about 9../10 hours with +- 3% drainage .
I am a "meduim power user" and get with overall use a day ...+- 35..40 % battery drainage ( +- 24hrs)so i have about... 55/ 60% battery left at end of the day .(eg emails weather updates ,twitter ,forums /web browsings ..Google Play store updates , Themes store etc etc . )
I feel i can achieve this as my device is tweaked right !!! Not obsessed,as to as some members with battery SOT ( time on ) .
Ok , Auto Update , Play store ?
turn off in Play store settings ,(see screenshot .....this taken with my Note5 , screenshot )
Gsam battery ,( see other 2 x screenshot ( taken on my rooted Note 3 , with custom ROM )
also notice in (re Note3 ) GSam setting screenshot that in sleep mode i got about 4% drainage re 10hrs standby !
Good luck
A lot is about the use...now I can get the same I had on LP with normal (for me)use :browsing, Tapatalk, some games, some Wi-Fi calling, texts, only Wi-Fi ...I wouldn't get the same with only games or Facebook or equivalent battery eater. Stock unrooted MM.

Hey,
Yeah I know. I have been a rooting fan since the beginning. My nexus 5 was rooted so was my note 3. This is my first phone that I haven't rooted, it's an accomplishment. Exactly, I am satisfied with my note 5 as well. Was very very happy actually but after the update the battery life has been a bit of a disappointment, otherwise it's great in terms of speed and smoothness etc. Even my iPhone lover friends are quite amazed at the performance of my phone with lollipop and even more with marshmallow.
I did the factory reset after some members on the G+ note 5 community pointed out but that didn't make any difference for me.
I did as you suggested, downloaded those apps and used the phone after 100% charge. Since yesterday was a holiday so I didn't use the phone much as I was on my laptop. So after taking off my phone at 12 in the noon I used it somewhat and had more than 50% left even when I woke up today. Used the 50% and right now I'm on 15% here are the screenshots of my usage. I usually charge my phone as it reaches 40 and charge it to around 80 85%.
I hope you can help me after seeing these. *fingers crossed*

Hey,
Thanks for your participation. Yeah I know all the depends on the use and I don't think my use is too heavy. As you can see in the screenshots I attached in the comment above. I use a little bit of social media, no Facebook though. Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat, g+, flip board, fb groups, messenger and some internet surfing and some texting and a little bit of texting and some short calls. No games. I have one two but I hardly play them.

Well we can try and id culprit /reason.
In app GSam top right in your screenshot you have time on etc.
You have to press drop down small icon and list will appear of options.
see screenshot. Then its up to you to monitor different options ?
Good luck

Hey,
I only have 3 options there, probably cause I'm not using the paid version.
I was thinking of downgrading to lollipop to see how it performs there now? Do you know how I can do that? Since I remember that there was a bootloader change when lollipop arrived and so after updating to lollipop, going back to kit Kat was quite difficult. Is it the same for marshmallow?

Yes, i have seen few post on XDA, re downgrading to Lollipop.
Unfortunately, i cannot help much with that. Just make sure it's for your model

Also check via Google or so YouTube video how to do it.,!
Yes, the bootloader would have been updated? (. i think..)

GINGERBREAD.XXLC1
I think that this version xxlc1 is last version but I wonder how is my kernel version ?
Battery life is very bad.
Moreover Charging lasts so long. 3 -4 hours sometimes.

Hi,
What is your battery life on the Note? Does it last a day even two?. If it does, then that is pretty much normal. You whine on a phone that you just use for only 2 days? Stop whining and complaining. You havent have had utilize the full charge and recharge cycles of your battery and now your whining already.. Man, give your Note a week or two and your battery life will be okay.
Hmm.. Is this the first time you use an android device? What phone where you using.before? If you we're using a non android device e.g. Symbian or etc. Then my reaction to your complains (of your Note) is justifiable. Symbian for the fact has always been known to be very good or decent in terms of battery life.
Now android OS, is known throughout (irregardless what smartphone/tablet you have) to have the AOS bug. It is a bug where there's some sort of a battery leak and hencefort most android users tend to root their phones so that they can stop background stock applications from running in the background. The births of custom ROMS and Kernels have given some tremendous wonders also especially on phone's UI and more so on battery management.
Again. Stop complaining and go down root your phone and install battery saving apps or custom ROMs. It's all over the thread anyway.
The sooner you customise your phone to your heart's content, the better you can appreciate it's full potentials.
Cheers!!!

My battery life is 5 - 6 hours. I am accept 12 hours. I wish it last 12 hours. Before I used Iphone4, it is not so long for battery life , however it is acceptable. I did not understand how notes's battery life so short.
Moreover I can not use custom rom. because they r not good as well as stock rom. ALl of them have some problems. But I can change my kernel.
to get battery life you either
a) dont use your phone or
b) get information to use your phone more wisely
So..
a) download a battery monitor.. there are a bunch recommended..
b) read the other 200 threads on battery life and dont start another one. Each and every question has been asked and answered ad nauseum
while you are figuring out root, and task killers, here are a few easy tips to help..particularly when you are putting the phone down for a while
apps>task manager>active apps> CLOSE ALL
apps>task manager> RAM> CLEAR MEMORY
settings>applications>running services> review and shut down apps/games that may be running in background (and that are not critical)
Again.... RESEARCH the forum.. the answers are already here. and you should read and post in existing threads

You could also have a defective battery.
On my iPhone 4, my first of 4 that were faulty, battery life depleted in less than 12 hours of STANDBY only on wifi, nothing syncing. Only being on. Battery life was so bad.
It's not uncommon to get a dud battery sometimes.
Try doing a complete restore, stock EVERYTHING, don't push anything (except email, cal, and contacts, you know, the basics) and see if you're having the same results. If on a fresh, stock, install you're having the same issues, then you've got a defective unit and/or battery.
Hope I've helped.

There are quite decent custom roms for the Note. I have tried many gingerbread versions (Chracks, rocketrom, cassies etc) currently on chrack's v18 small (LC1) with speedmod latest kernel.
I have not faced performance issues on this. But each user is different so u r the boss.
Best give the custom kernels a try for now. If u find the battery life better then ur problem is solved. The advantage of custom rom is that so much useless bloatware in the stock is removed for better space mgt & performance.
have provided some tips in the following link, feel free to go thru.

dude, you are ridiculing some of the well known devs who have made custom ROMS for all to appreciate and use. IF there was and is a problem on a particular custom ROM, it is or might be cause indirectly on the user itself, on what apps he/she insatalled on his phone. Surely you cannot generalize all custom ROMS have problems do you? if all have problems, the devs have some new revisions to fix those bugs and in no time at all your Note would be in tip-top shape again.
If as what you say, Custom Roms have problems.... then why the heck most people I know have used them and have big wide grin on their face to show off what they have and even posting a copy of their latest ROM pictures here... not to mentioned in YouTube as well.
ok. Which rom is the best stable than ? Which I should use ?
go read the threads on battery performance.. loading a new ROM will not fix problems if you do not know what you are doing.

Hi there.
I had the same issues but only after the update done on ICS.
I have over 140 different application and nearly all of them have been purchased.
What happens is that, when you are not using your phone it should go to "deep sleep". This allows your phone not to run any application and merely use any battery. Your problem probably come from somewhere in your setting an automatic update. That drains a lot....
I downloaded different application hoping that it would work out such as Juice Defender, watch dog and many others. After lots of research, I found out that it is not good for your phone to have an auto killer app or even an application that modifies the functions of other applications.
So I downloaded battery spy and cpu spy on "google play" and followed the instructions.
I needed a deeper analytic application "Kernel" and this was THE application that allowed my phone to go from 6-8 hour to 28 hours.
"Better battery stats", it's not free but was really worth the spending.
Google play chronological download
1) watch dog
2) battery spy
3) cpu spy
4) better battery stats
Good luck
I keep switching my cellphone off while not using, and same goes for wifi. Using it as a secondary phone as well. It lasts only 4-6 hours.. :S I keep closing background apps, and kill app once im done with it..
Also be aware that in areas with bad network strenght, the GNote really suffers.
I normally have no complains (0,6-1,5% battery usage per hour) but where I am now, the GNote really works hard to keep the connection and my consumption easily goes to 4-6% in deep sleep and 15-20% when using it...

If you like stock samsung looks try CleaNote 3.10 , very good n battery life , I get around one day backup with heavy usage and 2 days plus with moderate usage .
If like pure google , then try cm9 , very stable and quite good on battery back up .
And if you dont use 3g or 3.5 g or any such networks then select GSM only or use 2g networks only ( Settings -> under wireless and connectivity , More -> Mobile Networks )
Also keep your display brightness to minimum , control the brightness manually instead of auto brightness .
Turn off auto sync ( big advantage over battery ) .
Scan for running apps and cached apps and force stop the ones which you dont use .
Use titanium back up and freeze some of the bloatwares ( stock samsung apps ) or uninstall them , like readers hub , mydiary , they are **** .
And dont use task killers , they drain your battery . they may clear rom but some apps restart automatically and that needs more juice than running those apps . Hope all these suggestions help . From my experience with this phone

I didnt know that, My signal is usually 10-40%. I have bad signal strenght at home.
my battery decreases 1% in around 5 minutes of use or something. Today it lasted me 10% on standby for around 8-10hours.

You need to purchase and install "better battery stats" and also install cpu spy (I'm assuming you're rooted) and use them to monitor your phone and battery in order to solve your issue. Google both and you'll find several good threads on xda about using and interpreting these apps, but if you get stuck post some screen shots from both and someone here can almost certainly help. There are a number of potential sources of such problems, generally rogue apps, and also a bug or two, but it is impossible to offer help without the details these apps would provide.

Thanks for that, i will install it. By the way i got the "battery widget" installed, which has gained popularity on the market.
Also im only using 9% of brightness of my phone.
I'm using a rooted stock 4.0.3 and I'm finding battery life its pretty good - better than unrooted GB was in fact. Simply freezing bloatware via titanium and limiting sync on some (not all) apps and services makes a gigantic difference. Design your phone around your own needs and you'll end up with an amazing device that you'll fall in love with all over again.

Hi, I have problem with my battery life, I've bought new samsung s3 mini and got it with android 4.1.2 but battery life is pretty low, it can't last for 24 hours, can I do something to extend my battery life ? I text few sms messages, talk about 15 minutes, wifi is almost always on, screen brightness is set to minimum when ever I can do it, check little bit news over opera browser (maybe 15 minutes of use per day), also make few call over viber (about 10 minutes per day).
I've read that update samsung firmware via kies can help improve battery life, what should I do ?
p.s. my phone is not rooted if that is impormant, also I am neewbie
Thanks for help in advance

I'll try that tommorow, yes apps need to be installed again (my phone is 7 days ''old'' so I don't have so many apps)
p.s. did you installed all same apps and games ? I am asking this because maybe some app or game that you had previously installed was making android OS draining battery

if androidOS is draining then it is not your personal apps, its the android system, reset should solve that. disable syncing and 3g when not using.
Root it then download setcpu or free equivalent from play store. Set max CPU to 800.
Install crossbreeder tweaks.
All info is available just search.
Battery life will improve.

yesterday installed app called better battery stats so I'll try this app for 2-3 days so I can get info what process is making problem, and then do factory reset, if that doesn't solve my problem maybe to change stock rom with one that kernel is XXAMD3 (will I loose warranty if I do that?)
p.s. do i loose warranty if I do root ?

Yes, betterbatterystats the best way to narrow down whats causing the drain before you decide to wipe everything.
You'll lose warranty while you are rooted, but you can always go back to stock, and no one will ever notice
Only problem is if something gets damaged so bad you cant use odin to flash. Then you might have problems
to restore it to default state before service.
See my former post, hopefully it can help you, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41741957#post41741957

I'll try it all, just need some time to experiment, I'll post my opinion and results
p.s. I disabled this:
s-voice
active aplications
bh telekom (some app from my network provider)
game hub
samsung account
sns
software update
also all the time I am on 2G, wifi is almost all the time on, brightness is set low as it can be, power saving mode is on, now I turn of vibration for calls, etc
for me, the battery drainer was the Dropbox app(maybe i didnt set it right)....anyways,it wasnt showing that it was the Dropbox draining..i mean after i installed that app my Android OS went over 50% usage while it used to be below 20% on those battery charts...
anyways after i uninstalled it,everything went back to normal, getting easily 1 day heavy usage(gaming included), or at least 2 days of medium usage( just regular calls and text and some viber over wifi)
so, from my experiance so far(have the phone over 6 months now), i recommend you to try to remember which apps you installed last and uninstall them...restart the phone and see if that works b4 you go to factory resets and all that stuff....cheers
since I installed task killer and set it to crazy mode (killing apps every 30 minutes), and disabling many apps to get notifications (list of apps is 2 post above) my battery with medium use endurance is better, it last more then 24 hours but I think that battery could last for 2 days with this kind of use. here is photo from betterbatterystats, is anything unusual ?
p.s. next testing step is to do factory reset or install some other kernel version

task managers drain more battery imo because they wake up the phone every time and kill apps in the background that will just restart again because they are set to run in the background, android automatically kills tasks that you ran earlier after an amount of time, anyway more info here

Install Juice Defender, the free version can solve your problem, increasing 60% the battery life.
Set aggressive profile.
I'm using JD on S3 Mini and Note 2.
tnx, I'll try this app also,

did you feel the change of battery life on that ROM AMG1 ? did you use some other ROM on 4.1.2 before that ?

the difference is visible with any type of ROM.
I'm using the last from SamMobile since the first day with my devices...
I've tried also the AMG1 Rom, but i didn't see any difference btw. this and other roms.
I've also tried to use a unrooted rom and there is also a massive battery drain.
now i've ordered a new battery. perhapes it lasts longer.

I do not have this problem, but I use a PL ROM from T-Mobile - AMB2.

Hi,
I know there are many topics on the subject but I didn't find any solution to my problem.
So, since a couple weeks, about when I moved from Europe to the US, my phone drains significantly more battery than before. This has apparently nothing to do with screen brightness, wifi or cell data, since it occurs even in airplane mode during the night. I used to lose about 1-2% during a night, but now it's at least 15%.
You can find a couple screenshots from BetterBatteryStats there (sorry for broken link, it does not work otherwise): n.ethz.ch/~bauera/uploads/Screenshots/
So as I noticed, there are a couple wakelocks but nothing that could explain this large drain. Any idea what could be the reason and how to fix it?
FYI I am using the stock rom 23.4.A.1.232 with Android 5.1.1. Phone model is D5803. The OS was rooted directly when I got the phone in October 2015 and as I said, I did not have any battery problems until recently.
Thanks for your help!
Alex
that's the lollipop battery drain bug on mobile radio, marshmallow should have fix this
Thank you for your reply. However are you sure of that? The bug you are mentioning is apparently linked with mobile data, which I haven't even turned on since a couple reboots at least. Moreover, the battery stats for the night (from the built-in battery menu) show that the mobile network was fully off during that time (airplane mode).

BBS - Better Battery Stats is your freind. There's also lots of tips in the thread on how to limit most of the common wakelocks.
There are several services in the new Play Services that are keeping your phone awake. With the introduction of wearable bluetooth there are new fitness services that are looking for your wearable devices constantly, disable them and your battery gets better. Obviously if you use fitness bands/trackers then this fix is not for you.
If you have a rooted phone download Disableservice from the playstore, it's a lot easier to use than Xprivacy and you don't need to install Xposed.
Once it's installed, open the system tab, open Google Play Services, then untick (disable) the following:
ConfigFetchService
FitnessSyncAdapterService
GoogleLocationManagerService
GoogleLocationService
NetworkLocationService
ProximitySettingInjectorService
UserPresenceService
WearableControlService
WearableService
WearableSyncService
then reboot your phone.
Disabling these from running should have no impact on your phone, it doesn't for me, and will give you 10-15% more battery life.

Solved Battery drain for Me
I was also suffering from the same battery drain issue, but after doing a lot of research on this forum, few tricks mentioned here worked for me.
It had been 6 days I bought the phone, so was very disappointed by battery life, did upgrade from PC to Lollipop, but still the problem persisted and even worse. So I decided to go back to Kitkat and followed steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...d5833-t2906706
After downgrade the battery got somewhat better not satisfactory, so I followed the trick of complete drain upto 0% and charge to 100% (switchded off) after reading posts: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...5#post59797105 by Sydr08 #182
and cache clearing trick after 0% to 100% charge http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...harge-t3207737
After doing 100% charge I turned ON with vol+ pressed but phone did not respond (I guessed that it didn't worked, so switched ON normally) but after booting I found few settings to be reset so I guess it worked
So finally this trick seems to work for me, now the drain has slowed down to a lot extent. I have used phone regularly (calls, games, whatsapp, Music etc), the battery has dropped to 76% in around 8 hrs ( without stamina mode ) just expecting it to last for two days, and more than that with satmina mode.
Firmware: .77 (India)
Model: D5833
Hi Aakm,
As you said, the tricks mentioned so far on this thread were not really effective, at least for me as well. I could live with that 25-30% left at the end of the day (it is still much better than my old Samsung GS2), but I would be glad to be back to the 2-3 days of moderate use as I had during my first months of ownership.
So I'll try this out over the next days and hopefully it will work, thanks for suggesting! It sounds a bit like magic to me but let's give it a try
Best regards,
Alex
Unfortunately the full drain+charge did not change anything for me. I did not try to downgrade to Kitkat but as I've had good battery on Lollipop for several months, I doubt it would help.
Anyway thanks for your help, but I guess I'll simply wait until Android M comes out and take the opportunity for a full factory reset, hoping it will solve the issue.
Please guys mark the star on the bug report, the more people agree, higher will be the chance that google decide that it's time to fix it

Holy crap, that's ridiculous, I'd be concerned too.. But I was already there a cpl months ago, now it ROCKS! And here's why:
-That Fbook app is a big player in battery drains because it doesn't allow the device to to hit Deep Sleep mode.. Deep Sleep mode totally shuts down all processes unless ya get a msg, email, call, ect.. Now, certain apps have what's called "WakeLocks" built-in that prevent the Deep Sleep and Fbook is bad about that.
- If you have Root and install a Wakelock Detector app, it'll tell ya the offending app causing the drains (Fbook should be @ like 0%, BTW).. The best option for Fbook is to just disable it in Settings-Apps, then just use a Browser, since Messenger is already installed.
- Another offender I found on this device is the Voicemail app, but ONLY if you never opened and set it up to begin with.. The last one.
- Another thing I remember were the touch sounds, disable that (in Settings-Sounds-Advanced) cuz it'll cause the same wakelock battery drain.
- Background Data: Some of these also cause wakelocks as they allow the app to stay awake as it's always pulling data for immediate response capability to messages.. Go into Settings-Data and disable background data to apps you either don't use or doesn't require internet for message capability.. (For example, leave Messenger's BG data alone).
- Lastly, uninstall and/or just disable any apps you don't use or want to mess with, they'll drain battery as well, connecting to Play Store and prompting updates..
IF NONE OF THESE OPTIONS APPEAL TO YOU: Unlock ur bootloader, install TWRP, flash a custom ROM (we've made many for this device, myself included but My stuff is in Android Forums tho) they won't have ridiculous bloat ware, the only apps you have are the ones you personally install..

Hello
Yesterday i had the phone around 65% at 01h00, in the next morning (around 7h20) i wake up to find the phone at 1%, no wifi/4G/bluetooth/GPS...etc was active, even the battery saver was ON. As you can see in the screenshots, android system drain battery around 400% !!! what's up with this behavior ? happened the 1st time last week (49% drained in 8 hours) the problem seems gone after i fully charge and than reboot, but still today happened.
The phone is almost 1 month old.
The 1st few days, i disconnected the phone from charging at 100% and went to sleep, after 6 hours battery is drained by 6% without doing nothing. is this normal ??? screenshot
ROM : crDroid 8, latest magisk installed+microg+magiskhide props config and fdroid/aurora modules installed.
Thanks

well, that must a bug related to optimiztion of the rom, report it to the rom mantainer
Exactly what happened to me same ROM same phone but I didn't root it. it drained from 54% to 6% during the night, next day I switched the ambient display off and the battery became better but so far I am also looking for solutions to make it similar to miui
I feel the battery is draining so much fast when I start using the apps unlike miui but the room is also great and fast , with my light use it gave me 1 day of use and remaining of 10% with 120 fps (3.3%/hr screen on and 0.6%/h screen off )

Wow, 3.3%/hr is seriously impressive for active drain, especially for 120hz. Can I ask you if you did anything special / your exact setup? I installed Ricedroid 8.0 + Sleepy kernel and applied the GMS Doze module + Naptime (as suggested by a kind poster on here), and this allowed my idle drain to go down to 0.2%/hr, but my active drain is still struggling a bit.

to be honest I am not sure if I report it correctly I have used accubattry app but I will post few screenshots from the app and you can see , I didn't do anything except disable the ambient display maybe my usage is light in default I don't know I also formatted the phone like 20 times during my testing for different ROMs. I found Cr-droid to be the best so far or miui

Ohh the 3.3%/hr is combined use, which takes account of both active drain and idle drain (through what I guess is some weighted average). But honestly, 6.7%/hr (or even 7.8%/hr tbh) is still pretty damn impressive, so I'll thank you for letting me know! Now I wanna flash crDroid haha.

I spent 1 day and half trying all custom roms in this forum because for long time I was on miui and didn't know how custom ROMs are now , after trying I found that all custom ROMs either are pixel flavored or very basic without any customization and I settled with Cr-droid because it offers best of both worlds less google and good customization options.
now regarding the battery after few days of using on 60 fps I have combined use 2.4%/hr and 0.8% screen off but I still feel that it drains fast during my usage compared to Miui , I have only used naptime for optimization do you advise me to add anything else for non-rooted device ?

MIUI very often switches off alarm (not clock alarm) and wakeups -- it's known for long. Your notifications often comes late when using MIUI. In real life situation, however you might never notice it, but it's there. It also sets higher priorities to known messaging, social media apps to receive notification/action faster than any apps that are outside "the list".
It's a good trade off for battery life compares to stock AOSP or lineage which put every apps on generic list of "optimized battery" based on your pattern. It will took a long before the pattern is useable.

I'm not sure about your possibilities on a non-rooted device honestly. I think Naptime can work on a non-rooted device, if you grant a few permissions through ADB first (if I remember correctly, the app itself will guide you through the process). Be mindful of which apps you're restricting though, as Naptime will likely cause delays in the arrival of notifications. You can whitelist apps through Android's battery restriction screen.

Hmm I don't have any further tips honestly, not about these specific things. In my case, using Naptime already improves battery life by a ton over the course of a day (not wasting entire %s in hours of idle time is already huge).
Try and see if greenify or its replacements helps.
