[MOD] Lower Auto-Brightness levels to save battery (only KKA FW!)

Hi folks,
I just ported this MOD from Galaxy S2 to our Note: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235212&highlight=
So all credits go to LockeOn

Just flash with CWM App or in Recovery.

Thank you to both then! I'm now using Total Screen Control, but it's kinda overkill compared to this patch!

I flash it on firmware KK1 and struck with start up screen loop. How to undo?

Hi, i just tried out this mod on my Phone, so far it works good. But in my opinion is the brightness level still to high. Is there an option where i can adjust the brightness by my own ? Not only by the Slider. So maybe is ith possible that i can adjust some values in a line for the minimum and maximum level of brightness?

You need to decomile the framework-res apk, and adjust values in the arrays.xml

Will installing this CWM flashable zip delete my already modified framework which only has CRT-off?

Go back to your last CWM/Nandroid backup

For example, there are 2 versions of this ROM:

[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.8.7.x for Kirin variant

Be sure You have unlocked Your bootloader before.
I don't have this variant of P8, it was already tested but still please report any issues and I'll try to fix them.
Remember it's for Kirin version only.
INSTALLATION:
Just flash it via Fastboot and You should be fine. There's also a possibility to flash it via 'dd' in adb shell, it works too.

Update: The version for Kirin has been tested and it works, so You can flash it and test more without being afraid that You would break anything Meanwhile I'm still waiting for the report from Qcom variant user.
Kirin version is okay, but Qcom version made issues so I won't release it.

OP has rectified the issue.
So thread cleaned and lets stick to development talk now. :good:

Thanks alot for the Recovery. I got my phone today and have in the mean time asked Huawei to release the kernel source for ALE-21/23 and they have replyed to me. Here are the kernel sources: http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=detail&mid=103. As soon as I have time I will look into building a custom rom for the P8 Lite

Well i hope so its the only thing left that doesnt work it seems the sys device is not loading correctly. I will continue looking into it and let u know once it works.

5.1.1 issues and problems

Rom works almost perfect for me but sometimes screen wake takes around 5 sec. And after lockscreen phone lags for 10 sec cpu usage is too high even on idle then it settles.
I also experience launcher crashes. Phone randomly throw me back to lockscreen it just happened 5 min ago i was using twitter and phone just went to lockscreen.
Any1 else noticed these issues i guess these problems exist on sprint 5.1.1 checked other forums .
Ps: phone is wiped twice and it didnt help.
Update: culprit is fingerprint after disabling fingerprint lockscreen everything works flawless.
New update COI4 fixed fingerprint issue.

I have upgraded via 4 files at first post and did full wipe twice after installation , and just to be sure i have downloaded firmware from sammobile and flashed over again .
On first flash i did notice some lags and sudden application crashes just like you , but after flashing firmware from sammobile only thing i notice is when pressing recent apps toggle.
example. (when i clear recent applications and toggle recent apps over and over it lags, but not allways). If it helps try downloading firmware from sammobile or via kies and give it a try.

So updated from ota. And another problems is after lockscreen when i press multitasking button it doesnt respond i can still navigate through apps without lag etc then multitasking screen comes after 15 sec or something by itself. Its so weird problem. Its too bad that phone works excellent besides these problems. Something is wrong with lockscreen or fingerprint.

I am using fingerprint lock for it works fine,
Just noticed this when recent apps tray is empty it lags .. but when i open some apps it works perfect every time .. maybe some memory management . Give it a try maybe it's same with you .

Yes definetly same. Fingerprint works for me aswell but this lag happens very randomly , and power saving mode is just unusable in power saving it becomes constant ill probably wipe again but it doesnt seem to help me. Its like something abuse cpu after deepsleep.

So i'm not the only one .. If you are going to restore and wipe again, maybe try it over samsung kies, and let kies download firmware for you.
I didn't try this because of banking application, every time i wipe phone i need to go to the bank to get activation.

Kies probably wont download 5.1.1 for me since im not from poland. Maybe ill download from sammobile and just flash myself.

Did you customize the rom such as flashing TWRP and installed any zip file or is it completely stock when you get this lag ?

I will use it like this couple more days, maybe they release 5.1.1 for other countries with newer firmware files.

I was installed before n910c rulinglite s6 rom. I Did wipe data cache and I flashed n910c 5.1.1 poland coh4 rom. And didn't work direct call gestures. Proximity sensor won't work when I during call put my ear not turning off screen. Wifi passwords always forgetting every reboot. I flashed last night again same Rom and I did wipe data cache. I'm thinking solution where is the problem. I will flash tonight 5.0.1 Rom.
I was chanced build prop ro.securestorage.support=true to false but I think every sammobile flash Rom being stock true line. Never chanced other command lines.
Any idea solution?

I think the problem is about fingerprint. I removed lockscreen and fingerprints and the problem seems solved.

I have fingerprint error , action memo doesn't work
but no lag , cpu is about half , ram usage is 1.2

Definitely fingerprint .. I also dicovered that app for using fingerprint with pay pal wich i removed was lagging. I removed app . Reset phone and enable fingerprint again . So far its working without any lag . I will test some more and let ya know.

Try to disable fingerprint and wipe cache from recovery than enable and give it a try .. sometimes things get back to noramal just after basic cache wipe.

It is causing lag to multitasking and lock screen somehow.. it hang's randomly.

Upon request I ported the Kcal kernel module from http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/5-x-kcal-module-flashable-t3159869 for the current Z5 kernel (tested with Sony Stock kernel from Firmware 32.1.A.1.85 and 32.1.A.1.63).

This is a small app which lets you adjust color temperature, contrast, a.s.o. You need two pieces for this: The kernel module, which must be flashed via recovery and the app, which can be installed as usual. You need root for this of cause.

There is a limitation to what you can achieve with a LCD Screen so the best you can do is use this to bump the contrast and maybe adjust a few other things

Unfortunately it is a litte bit more complicated. Although I'm using the same compiler and the sources for .224 the symbol version does not match and the module refuses to load. I still have to sort this out.

With this for each exported kernel function a CRC over the parameters is calculated. For any reason I get different ones although I use the same compiler and source.
Anyway I was able to extract to CRC table from the kernel and to use it for the compilation, so finally it works.
The new installer detects the kernel version and chooses the corresponding module version.

Wonderful. Thnk you. Anyone can suggest what settings to use for best colors. Someting like samsung amoled.

Worked like a charm on Z5d 32.2.A.0.224. But what happens if I turn on x reality. will it be more colorful than before or I should turn x reality off ? And the color skin look reddish. I turn color control off then adjust white balance in Xperia settings but I can't make it look as like as color control when it on.

If i remember the color control in the settings is its own app so theoreitcally you can do what you want.

This mod not related to Internet/GooglePlay at all , maybe you are using Freedom app or something like that , try to restore original host file in \system\etc\host

OK,it's my fault. I've used freedom before so I restored default host file and it's OK now. Sorry. And one question freedom 1.08c won't work on 6.0.1 rooted

Try magisk I am going to try now and download remover as well just in case

you have to disable the automatic brightness in settings. so you can adjust the brightness from the panel

i already disable it. i adjust on brightness slider but my brightness not change. thats the problem
